Neighborhood Overview
Makaha area is the quiet side of Oahu with surfing on Makaha Beach, one mile from the complex. A golf course is not even a half mile away. The best sunsets are the here on the West Side of the island ! With several local beaches to relax on, swim, snorkel, watch for turtles, monk seals and even whales!

Transit
A vehicle is highly recommended. Parking is onsite with 24 hour security. The Bus stop is out front of the condo. Transportation to and from airport is available through a taxi based at Makaha Valley Towers and costs about $120 one way. The airport is about 50 - 60 minutes from the complex, depending on traffic.

Rules
Hawaii State Tax must be paid via Air BnB Resolution Center before arriving. No Smoking in Condo, on Lanai's, Hallways or Parking Areas. Smoking area is by the entrance near the bicycle parking area and closes at 9 pm. After that you must leave property. Because of the tropical breeze, no hanging of towels or clothes on Lanai or anywhere outside. Check in is anytime after 4 pm - Check out is before 11 am Self check in with LockState Smart Lock

Jun 27, 2019The apartement is very clean and comfortable. We just had to accept the very high security .... We are not used with that. There's not so much to do in Wai'anae, but it is interested to see this part of the island. Thank you Ray.

Jun 27, 2019The host made my guest and I feel very welcome. Their was a guidebook that recommemed beaches, hikes, and restaurants, that I found to be very helpful. Whatever questions I had about the listing, I always got a quick response. The place itself was beautiful, clean, and a nice spot to spend a vacation. Everything about the condo wad listed in the ad. From the beautiful waianae mountain view, the ocean view and the pool and bbq area. Not to mention that it was very peaceful and quiet area to spend a vacation. I would definately recommend friends and others to stay here!
Jun 27, 2019Our stay was wonderful! The condo had a beautiful view up on the hill and the space was perfect for 2. The employees at the security gate were always very friendly and the property was very well kept. Ray was always very quick to respond, especially when we were concerned about the 2 hurricanes that were headed toward the islands. Luckily we were hardly affected on our side of the island. Right at the bottom of the street from the condo was a beautiful beach for snorkeling. All of the directions and instructions for the condo were easy to follow and it was very easy to find it's location. If you're looking to get away from the chaos of Honolulu and Waikiki, this place and part of the island is great.
Jun 27, 2019Absolutely enjoyed staying at Ray's place last minute. It was very clean and just like the pictures. The views from the balcony were beautiful all day long. Very friendly people at the Towers. I definitely would recommend this as a place to stay!

Jun 27, 2019Ray & Lise have a lovely apartment in a peaceful, beautiful location. The apartment is clean, cozy, comfortable and very well equipped. The description is exactly as advertised. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beaches, this is a great location. Although public transportation runs from just outside the condo's main gate, a car is recommended.

Jun 27, 2019The mountain backdrop for this condo complex is breathtaking. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and kept very nice. The ocean views are beautiful. The pool area is very nice. It's only a mile to one of the nicest beaches on Oahu. It's perfect if you are not inclined to want the nightlife and tourist attractions found on the more frequently visited parts of this island. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful.

Jun 27, 2019Ray's place in Makaha is perfect for travelers who want to experience the best that Hawaii has to offer. His place is equipped with all of the amenities that a business traveler needs to get work done...but at the same time, allows you to partake in the paradise that is Waianae (peacocks included). The beaches there are beyond compare and Ray's place is a perfect homebase for exploring them.

Jun 27, 2019중심가에서 먼것빼고는 모든게 좋았습니다. 여기를 이용하기 위해서는 영어를 약간 할수있어야 합니다. 유아동반 어린이 두명 어른두명 가족다섯명이 생활하기에 좋았습니다.(약간 좁긴했지만요) 퀸사이즈 침대한개 소파베드침대한개가 있습니다. 주차는 전면주차만 가능하고 하루 주차요금은 4불입니다. 전자렌지 및 커피포트등 요리에 필요한 모든것들이 있습니다. 후라이팬이 코팅이 안되어 있어 계란후라이는 만들기 힘들었습니다. 아이스박스, 비치체어도 두개가 있어 아이들과 스노클링다니기 좋았습니다. 만약 여기에 오신다면 코올리나 라군에 꼭 가세요. 유아동반가족이 놀기에 최적의 장소입니다. 가성비 최고의 숙소인듯 합니다.

It was a little way from the main street, but I loved Makaha very much, no matter what.I'd definitely like to visit again. My children and I stayed so happy!! And I was satisfied with the security system there.

It was raining when we arrived and the mountain behind the condo sported 7 waterfalls! Even when it rains it's beautiful.

Jun 27, 2019This place is a little slice of heaven. It is everything their ad says and more. It really is about as far removed from the Honolulu tourist bustle as one can get. This is a huge bonus to experience Hawaii and a place to live and enjoy the people and untouched beaches along the Waianae Coast. The Waianae Harbor is just down the road and is where many people from the Waikiki hotels get bused an hour to board the boats to go out for turtle and dolphin cruises. But, you will be right there! The condo tower community is much more resort like than other condos (minus a restaurant on property), but with the many local restaurants nearby you will never get bored with the eating out options. The condo in modern with all the essential elements. The bathroom is large, the bed is comfy. This is one of the rare units with a screen front door so you can open it up to enjoy a cross breeze if desired and not get attacked by mosquitoes. The view is fantastic. Laundry is just down the hall. I highly recommend Ray and Lise's place! A word about Handicap Access: If you are handicap and need to avoid stairs, be sure to bring your handicap placard from your car so they give you a special pass to park in the resident parking. I have a bum knee so stairs are not my friend. The standard visitor parking in on the lowest level and is a bit of a hike and many stairs which is no issue for most travelers. There are no handicap parking stalls; all are on a first come basis so if you get back late at night, parking can be a challenge, but you can still avoid stairs by walking in a different door/elevator and making your way to the condo. The pool is three flights of stairs down; no elevator options. But, if you drive your car around to the pool there is a ramp up to the BBQ area to eliminate most of the stairs but you will still have about 10 steps up yo the pool to deal with. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the pool.

It is a pleasure having breakfast facing the ocean and mountain view at morning. the king size bed is very comfortable, and the sofa can be use to sleep alternatively, making the condo be a real suite deluxe.They support abundant appliance for snorkeling and beach playing. The porperty have impressive security system, living there is safe and quiet. And if you have car, the location is not the problem. Acturally, I always think the location of the porperty, which is at the west side of Oahu, is like the heaven at the end of the world. This is my first Airbnb experience, and it is very great and miraculous, even when my family leave the condo at the last day, we saw 6 beautiful peacocks standing beside the driving road seeing us off. Thank you, Ray and Lise, for your homelike accomodation and warm welcome. I wish to come back to your house in future.

Jun 27, 2019Lise was a phenomenal hostess and made my 10 day vacation in Hawaii wonderful. It was a comfortable condo with a beautiful view and homey touches. It was conveniently close to the beach and good, authentic Hawaiian food. During this time of year the area was dry. So unfortunately our last few days there were not ideal. But Lise was very helpful when it came to trying to find a place away from the smoke and refunded me the money for the one night I could not stay in the condo. I highly recommend picking this spot for your next vacation!

Jun 27, 2019My wife and I travelled to Oahu recently and chose to stay on the Leeward Coast. Ray and Lise’s condo is an excellent choice for travellers who are not afraid to get away from the tourist hotspots and are willing and able to drive back and forth to the sights that you want to see. The beaches on this side of the island are unreal! You have to see them to believe them. Specifically Ray and Lise’s condo is very comfortable, with all amenities and a comfy bed. We spent a lot of our days either touring the island or at the beach so we were very glad to have a comfy condo with Cable Tv to come home to in the evening. The views are spectacular! The kitchen is well appointed and we cooked almost all our meals at the condo, or down at the bbq area. The pool area is very well kept, clean and quiet. The grounds on the property are very pretty. We experienced no noise issues while we were there. The staff at this facility are very very friendly and we had no issues with checking in and getting around the property. Ray and Lise have beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas, snorkelling gear and books for their guests to use as needed. This was very helpful for us when we spent time at the beaches! Ray and Lise’s communication throughout the booking process and leading up to the trip was impeccable. They answered all questions i had and were very quick to offer advise for our stay. We knew exactly what to expect and were not caught off guard by anything when we arrived at their condo. Overall this place is 5/5 for us and it was an experience we will never forget.
Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay away from the touristy parts of the island. There are many hiking trails and beaches within a 45 min drive of their place. I would suggest renting a car when staying on that side of the island so you can get out and travel to the north shore.

Jun 27, 2019The view was just beautiful. We felt safe at all times and the staff at the place was super friendly. Ray and Lise were very responsive and their place is just lovely, especially for the price. The west side of the island might have a bad rep, but we never felt in danger or afraid. There are great beaches and hikes just up the road a bit and it is easy access to anywhere else on the island. What a beautiful place and great hosts!
