The apartment is a very pleasant and comfortable place to relax after a busy day exploring New York. It is located on a quiet tree-lined block on the ground floor of the townhouse where we live. There is a separate entrance to the studio apartment, which leads into a fully furnished living room/bedroom area, with wifi, TV, books to read, music to listen to, even a guitar to strum if you’re in the mood. There is a queen sized bed as well as a futon that can convert into a very comfortable bed as well where children could sleep. The full kitchen is quite spacious, with butcher block countertops and a new dishwasher. There is a coffeemaker, toaster oven, and microwave in the kitchen, as well as other amenities like pots, pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, cutlery, soap, towels, etc. The dining room is connected to the kitchen and is also quite roomy and comfortable, with lots of light coming from the backyard; it is one of our favorite spots in the whole house. Park Slope is truly one of the best neighborhoods in New York; friendly and safe for kids and adults alike, with all sorts of conveniences, fresh air, a short and easy subway trip to the exciting bustle of Manhattan but also a pleasant escape from it at the end of a long day. We are located very close to 7th Avenue, which has all kinds of shopping. There are fine groceries such as Union Market, several good delis, some of the best bagels in New York at the Bagel Hole,etc., as well as restaurants with food from every corner of the globe, ranging from higher end fare at places like Talde to our local diner located right on the corner of the block. Many fine coffee shops, bars and stores of every description are also only a short walk away, as is Prospect Park (located two blocks away) with its many wide open spaces and forest paths, where you can forget for a while that you are in a big city.

SUBWAY We are located three short blocks from the 7th Avenue subway station on the F and G lines. The F train is the easiest way to get to Manhattan, about 20 minutes from Greenwich Village, and there are easy transfer points along the F line that will get you anywhere you need to go in Manhattan. The G train does not go into Manhattan but offers easy access to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood and locations in Queens. BUSES The 67 and 69 buses run along 7th avenue, and the 61 bus that runs along 9th street is also very close. TAXI There are often green or yellow NYC taxis around. The green taxis work the same as the yellow but are designated specifically to stop in Brooklyn and boroughs other than Manhattan. There are many car services in the neighborhood as well (we’ve had pretty good luck with Eastern). PARKING There is free parking on the numbered streets and metered parking on 7th Avenue. The apartment is located on the ground floor of our townhouse. There is a separate outdoor entrance that opens from the bottom of the stoop on the left. Once inside, there is another key which opens the door to the apartment, located immediately on your left. We infrequently use this hallway for basement access. We will either be available to hand you the keys ourselves or make other arrangements if you arrive when we are not able to be there.
