Gorgeous brownstone garden duplex (private entrance) on best block - sleeps 8. Cellar TV room has two regular twins that fit together to make a king bed (I add a foam strip to fill the gap between the two twins and belt the two mattresses together so they don't come apart when made into a king) and two extra long twin futons that sit on the floor; full bathroom with tub and shower. Note: This is not a conventional 3 bedroom! Some guests prefer placing a futon in the extension and using it as another bedroom. This can work great with kids. The entrance to the bathroom is through the master bedroom so from the extension, you walk through the master bedroom to get to the kitchen or bathroom. Neighborhood Overview
Ft Greene is a fabulous neighborhood, accessible to everything. People love living in this part of NYC. My house is on what is considered the "the best block," most central with elegant brownstones, Sycamores. Within just a couple blocks is the neighborhood park with playground , farmer's market, flea market, Brooklyn Academy of Music (dance, theater, movies, concerts), restaurants and cafes. Notes
We provide all linens (high quality) you require and we'll make up the master bed and the twins in the cellar but leave the other beds for you to make up (in case you want to set up the sofa as a bed each night). Linens for the sofa queen, twins and king including mattress pads are located in the plastic storage cases under the cellar stairs. Extra towels and pillows can be found in the closets in the master bedroom and the bathroom vanity in the cellar. When you leave, please clean your dishes and put them away. Thank you!
Transit
You will not find a better location to stay in Brooklyn. You can easily go anywhere by subway within minutes of the house. Time to the Financial District: 15 - 20 minutes; to Penn Station and Time Square: 30 minutes; Upper East or Upper West Side: 40 minutes. The house is 1 1/2 blocks to the C and G, 5 minutes to both the Atlantic Avenue (2, 3, 4, 5, N, R, Q, D) and DeKalb (B, Q, N, R) subway stations and the LIRR.
Access
The duplex is for your use alone, with a private entrance under the stoop. If you have a late afternoon or evening flight, you can stay in the apartment until you need to leave if no one has booked it. Otherwise, you can leave your luggage upstairs with me and collect it when its time to go to the airport. Just ask and we'll arrange! KEY: The key to the apartment is a medico key. Because so many guests have left without returning a key to me, I now have to charge $10 to replace it so please take care not to loose it. I typically provide two keys.

Jun 27, 2019Great apartment, great location! The flat is newly remodeled and everything is brand new and clean. It is very spacious- perfect for our group of 2 adults, 2 small children. The location is a very safe neighborhood, beautiful block and very near restaurants, parks. Miriam was readily available and her list of restaurants, shops was helpful. The check in/out was seamless. We will definitely stay there again- hopefully for longer.

Jun 27, 2019Miriam was excellent. It was my first time using airbnb and it was for work colleagues of mine. I can only go by what my colleagues said and it was absolutely awesome. They were able to cook dinner and save us money instead of having them eat out everynight. They loved the space and wanted to stay longer. It was nice and convienent to our marina on pier 5!
Jun 27, 2019I used to live in the neighborhood and can attest Miriam's place is on a top notch street in an amazing location! She did a great job furnishing the apartment and making the place comfortable for a family stay. Miriam was also very accommodating and didn't hesitate to turn up the heat for our unseasonably cold visit. We'd love to stay here again on our next Brooklyn visit!
Jun 27, 2019Miriam ha estat una bona amfitriona. La comunicació sempre ha estat immediata i positiva. Ha estat molt respectuosa amb la nostra intimitat i ens ha obsequiat amb diferents detalls. L'apartament ocupa la part baixa d'una típica casa "Brownstone". Disposa d'un jardinet al darrer ideal per les èpoques de temperatura suau. La ubicació és immillorable. Hi ha moltes línies de metro a tocar de l'apartament. En 20-25 minuts s'arriba a Manhattan. Està ubicat a un barri de Brooklyn molt ben situat. L'ambient és molt bo i està ple d'opcions al voltant. Cal tenir en compte que disposa d'una habitació doble per allotjar a dues persones i que la resta s'hauran d'acomodar en un sofà llit i en uns futons a terra en el soterrani de l'habitatge. En el soterrani, sense finestres, s'ubica la sala de màquines, canonades, un traster i un petit bany. A la penúltima nit hi va haver una inesperada fuita d'aigua al soterrani que Miriam i la seva família van resoldre molt ràpidament. Hem estat 12 dies a l'apartament i, en general, ha estat molt positiu.

The apartment was perfect for our family of 4 as it was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Miriam was also very flexible in allowing us to have a small celebration for my 40th birthday with friends and family at the apartment. The apartment proved to be perfect for our gathering because of its amazing location (especially with its proximity to the park, playgrounds, and other local businesses) and its spaciousness and comfort. We would happily stay at Miriam's apartment on future trips to Brooklyn and strongly recommend it to others. Thank you Miriam!

Jun 27, 2019We made this apartment our Christmas Central gathering spot. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking as well as serving-dishes and glassware enough for our crowd. The little things were appreciated-enough hangers in the coat closet to stow our coats, dishwashing detergent under the sink, so we didn't have to buy that at the market. Really nice linens on the beds, plenty of towels, good lighting. Amazing main bathroom shower-we took pictures of it! Great closet space, again with coat hangers. Off of the main bedroom, there is an away space-office type room. My husband used it to meditate, but it'd be great for any kind of quiet space. We didn't use the courtyard, but it would be so nice to utilize in milder weather. We didn't see Miriam, but she was very good at communicating by email.

Jun 27, 2019This property exceeded our expectations. We have spent a lot of time in New York City in the past and I was amazed at how quiet this place was. It's on a lovely street in a very beautiful and safe area. We traveled to Manhattan every day and the subways were close and convenient. The property was so much more spacious than I expected and was perfect for our family of 4 . There is close access to restaurants and markets. We were impressed and would definitely stay again. My only disappointment is that it wasn't the right time of year to enjoy the beautiful courtyard in the back.

Jun 27, 2019We have been staying at Miriam's for a full week (6 people). Communication with her is outstanding, she was very helpful with tips how to get to her place (Subway). Good location, subway within 5 mins (C - Lafayette Av, G - Fulton St) and 10 mins (B, Q, R - DeKalb Av) which is giving you lots of options to go to Manhattan. Many good Restaurants and Bars within 15mins by foot - nice and calm neighbourhood. The flat is clean and well equiped. When using the sleeper-sofa in the livingroom as a bed (as we did with 6 people), there is no direct access to the bathroom; one has to go through the bedroom. Garden can be used for BBQ and dining after a long day in the city - just great. Would come back anytime!

Jul 27, 2019Asunto oli todella siisti, tilava ja hyvin varusteltu. Sijainti on täydellinen NY lomalle. Alakerrassa nukkuminen vaatii hyvät unenlahjat, koska ilmastointilaitteen kosteudeneroitin pitää aika kovaa meteliä. Asunnossa on kuitenkin todella hyvin tilaa ja nukkumapaikkoja 5-6 henkilölle vaikka alakerrassa ei kukaan nukkuisikaan. Myös Wi-Fi katkeili jatkuvasti, mutta olen tyytyväinen, että oli edes jonkinmoinen nettiyhteys. Miriamin yhteydenpito oli asiallista ja hyvää. Ohjeet avainten saamiseen tuli hyvissä ajoin ja olivat selkeät. Myös asunnossa oli selkeät ohjeet kaikkeen tarvittavaan. Kaiken kaikkiaan olemme erittäin tyytyväisiä tähän asuntoon ja majoittajaan. Jun 27, 2019Miriam's home was the perfect location for our family's summer trip to Brooklyn. Her home was well appointed with all the basic necessities one would need for cooking and relaxing when you needed a break from the city. The apartment is on the most picturesque street of stunning brownstones and lovely old trees. It it quiet and felt very safe and is conveniently located near many restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and namely, the lovely Fort Greene park which we visited almost daily with our four young children. Close to many subway lines, Miriam's apartment was perfectly located for popping into Manhattan as well as getting around Brooklyn in general. Check in was seamless, Miriam was the perfect balance of attentive and easy to get in touch with without feeling like you were being "watched". The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We met many neighbors and my children played with some of the neighborhood children on several occasions and have even made a pen pal. Thank you so much, we would love to stay there again in future travels.

Jun 27, 2019Superbe appartement en sous sol dans un quartier très sympa de Brooklyn, vous rejoindrez facilement tout les supers restaurants de brooklyn et le metro Jay street ou Delkab pour allé facilement à Manhattan, de plus l appartement est à deux pas de Delkab market qu il faut absolument faire lors de votre visite à brooklyn, l appartement est superbe et vraiment grand. Pour une famille de 4 ou 5 personnes c'est l'endroit parfait.
Jun 27, 2019This is such a could place to stay if you want to explore New York and particularly Brooklyn. Me and my family (me and my husband, two teenagers and a younger one) stayed there for a little bit more then 2 weeks and we just loved ut. The picture of the apartment really tell you the truth. It´s clean, wifi works well, the garden with the possibility for a BBQ is like a small rainforest in the middle av the city. Miriam is a really good host and easy to get in contact with if needed - for both questions and travel- och restaurant recommendations. Many different stations for metro in the surrounding makes travel easy and Fort Greene as a neighborhood is great and a good hub for exploring Williamsburg, Brooklyn Heights, Red Hook and other interesting parts of Brooklyn. Why don´t take a evening walk to Brooklyn bridge park or an a morning jog in Fort Green park just outside the door? We would absolutely consider to stay here again when we do our next trip to NYC.

Au final, nous avons passés 10 jours magnifiques à Brooklyn et Manhattan. Cet appartement a contribué à la réussite de ce séjour, c'et sûr ! Merci.
Jun 27, 2019My wife, I and 2 teenage daughters stayed 5 nights at Miriams place and we couldnt have been happier with our choice. The apartment is ideally located for quick access into Manhattan via 3 different lines. We saw the location as far enough out but close enough in. The area is safe and quiet. The apartment is nicely furnished with a large kitchen and even has an outdoor garden at the back. The only negative aspects I would highlight is that the air conditioning is controlled from the apartment above and that the Wifi had a very limited range throughout the apartment. Other than those 2 minor and easily fixed problems this was a lovely apartment and would happily stay there again.

We went with our 11 month old and family, and plenty of nice parks were close by. I would recommend the place to anyone!!

Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful time in this gorgeous apartment and Miriam was a fantastic host. We know the neighborhood well, and this is a much nicer and better-remodeled unit than most of them in the area. The area itself is our favorite, close to the park and the farmer's market and lots of subway lines. The restaurants and ease of life there are all great. We loved this stay and it was great for my daughter (8yo) and I'm sure would be great for 2-3 kids and a family.

Jun 27, 2019We were a family of 5 - (4) adults and (1) 3-yr old, visiting for the NYC Marathon. The location of the apartment could not have been better. It is located at mile 8 of the course. Just about a 500 foot walk! The apartment is located very close to subway into Manhattan and surrounding areas. Plenty of good restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Our favorite was the Green Grape & Provisions, for wine, craft beer and fresh soups, etc. Miriam was so helpful in giving us her "spot" on the street for one car and we were very lucky to find a 2nd spot on the street for our 2nd car. There are rules around times you can park, but we arrived on Friday afternoon and stayed until Tuesday with no problems at all. There are garages in the surrounding area that do have spots available for longer stays if needed. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable, although we did not spend much time there. The master with bathroom was nice, and the 2nd bedroom in the basement was fine, but be sure to understand it is the basement with furnace in the room and slightly steep stairs. Great towels and linens were also provided. Miriam was a very good host!

Jun 27, 2019The place was marvelous! It had that vintage look from de 1900's. The rooms were big and looked recently renovated. The bathrooms were spacious. The kitchen helped us a lot, but we missed having a blender. The neighborhood was great, near subways, restaurants and cafes. I would certainly stay there again! Ideal for families 4+.

The flat is well decorated and fully equiped. Quality Linen and bedding. Miriam was always available and reactive to give us all the information we needed. We strongly recommend Miriam's flat.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed in this apartment for 7 amazing nights and I cannot emphasize enough how great this apartment is. It is within short walking distance of all the awesome things Brooklyn has to offer, to include all the new things along Fulton, and the new Dekalb food court across from LIU Brooklyn. Miriam was the best host we have ever had while staying in an airbnb or (Hidden by Airbnb) , She checked on us shortly after our arrival, and was always incredibly responsive to any need we had. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this apartment!

Jun 27, 2019The place was ideal and an amazing find in the heart of Fort Greene. A great place for our family - less than a block from the park (and two blocks from the hospital which we had to use after a fall at said park) and a great home base, which was important as we have a 14mo old. Miriam was so kind and sweet and very patience with us (we needed to check in a little early and leave a little late and she totally accommodated us). So grateful for this experience and will be staying there again!

The apartment stayed cool despite the heat and humidity outside and it was great to come back after a day of exploring. The area is safe and convenient with plenty of options for getting into the city. The description is accurate. The apartment is atypical and the TV area is part of the cellar. Our kids slept well down there. It was great to have two bathrooms and a washer and dryer. Miriam was a great host, responding quickly to questions or needs and making sure we were doing okay, but respected our privacy. I would definitely stay there again if I went back to New York.

And we also discovered that it was perfectly located:the neighborhood is charming and lively, with several metro lines just around the corner, but it is also less tiring than Manhattan. It was great to go back to Miriam's place after a long and busy day of visits. Thank you so much, Miriam, we really enjoyed our stay.

Lits faits à l'arrivée, tout le necessaire est déjà présent y compris les basiques pour la nourriture. Il ne manque rien. Climatisation dans la chambre parent très appréciée. Très propre, bien situé pour accéder à tout NY. Séjour avec des enfants supers. Arrivée / départ très simple. Hôte très flexible, réactif.

Jun 27, 2019Miriam is a very nice and attentive host. The place is exactly as she has described it and can house quite a few people if needed. We were only 3 women so each of us had her own space. We also liked the kitchen for having breakfast in the morning and not having to run out all the time. The neighborhood is really nice, you can buy good quality groceries nearby. Several subway stations are also nearby so you have options going into Manhattan depending on where you want to go. Unfortunately, it gets a bit loud in the basement when it is very hot and the aircon is running over night. Overall, a very positive experience :-)

Il est situé dans un très bon quartier de Brooklyn près de plusieurs stations de métros et de plusieurs restaurants. Dans l'ensemble très bon séjour et surtout hôte qui sait écouter et résoudre les problèmes rencontrés par ses invités. Merci encore!

Jun 27, 2019My family and I loved staying at Miriam's place for our NYC trip. It was in a great location of BK close to several subway lines, coffee shops, restaurants and the park. The home itself was comfortable, clean and enough room for the 6 of us. Miriam was an outstanding host - she checked in and provided updates prior to our stay and during our stay she was very responsive and went above and beyond to accommodate us by providing extra keys, supplies and even let us store our luggage after check out until it was time to leave for our flights. I highly recommend staying at Miriam's place!
Jun 27, 2019Miriam was a wonderful host, she made sure we checked in ok and even looked out for us with parking the car, making sure we were in the right spot so we didn't get towed for street cleaning. We managed to park our car for free on the street all weekend which was awesome. The place was beautiful, perfectly clean and cozy with everything you could possibly need. Also it was in a great area, lovely street close to the park and great surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend Miriam's apartment.
Jun 27, 2019We had a very pleasant stay at Miriam’s brownstone. After long walks in Manhattan it was a pleasure going back home, because we really had the feeling of being at Home. We were 7 and we had all the space, 2 bathrooms was a must and a large opened kitchen which was fully equipped to spend good breakfast, lunch or dinner time. We didn’t have the opportunity to relax in the garden but it was charming and we believe that it must be so cool to have BBQ or jus rest. We discovered the neighborhood, just turn the quiet street the home is and you’ll get in Brooklyn, a slice of New York in a more relaxed atmosphere and authentic architecture. Nice restaurants, subways to go anywhere, groceries with fresh foods, it’s all around the corner. Few minutes from the apartment you can go to Barclays center and see NBA Brooklyn Nets, have shopping in Fulton & Jays streets, Fort Greene park is a nice place, only 4 stations to reach Brooklyn Bridge and its unique view of Manhattan with the C train which is only 3 minutes from the apartment at walking distance, Thanks to Miriam we had a wonderful stay in New York Brooklyn.

Jun 27, 2019Great spot, great host. I’d highly recommend this apartment, especially in the fall when you can enjoy the leaves in the park down the street or in the summer to enjoy the beautiful patio space. Miriam is quick with her responses and helpful in all ways a host should be.

Jun 27, 2019Miriam is a gracious host and her apartment is amazing. The location is an easy walk to the park, restaurants, coffee, bookstores, arts, you name it. The apartment's amenities are great and, although it was cooler weather, we loved the little backyard garden. Would definitely stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Miriam's garden apartment is a lovely place to stay in Brooklyn, close to Fort Greene Park and easily accessible by public transportation. The apartment is spacious and welcoming, plenty of room for our family of 6 (us, our grown-up kids and one grandchild). Miriam responded quickly to our questions, and was a gracious host. We would stay here again, and highly recommend it.

Jun 27, 2019Miriam’s accomodation was great fir our trip. We have 3(almost adult children) and needed separate spaces, with the ability to come together fir meals etc, so the house was perfect. The house itself was a lovely homey space with good facilities and lots of home comforts. The location had so many options for facilities to eat etc and public transport was also great fir its varying options. I would stay again, if we are so lucky to come back to NY
