The police station is around the corner (Inside the metro station). I never had a problem. A, B, C and D trains are around the corner. A and D are Express. 1 Train is 3 blocks away and M3 Bus is on the other side of the street. You would be sharing the apartment with me. I am a musician, very respectful, clean, and easy going. You will have access to all the areas, kitchenware, oven and spices to cook. There is turbo speed Wi-fi in the Apartment.

The Neighbourhood is nice and safe day and night. The police station is around the corner (Inside the metro station). I never had a problem.

Marcelo has a nice apartment! Even though it is a basement apartment I was surprised it had so much sunlight - which was nice! The room is a good size and has closet space. He is very nice and if you are lucky you will get to hear his band have a rehearsal. They are good.
Jul 27, 2019My boyfriend and I spent 10 days in New York. We had the chance to stay at Marcelo's, our very kind host from Argentina! He speaks both English and Spanish, and he is very helpful with all he can. Very quiet flat in a safe neighbour, and really close to the subway and to the stores you may need. Good location for a very interesting price, don't think twice!
Jun 27, 2019Marcelo's place is one meant for seasoned travellers who just need a simple place to call home while in NYC. It is very simple and located in the basement of an apartment complex. The kitchen is great if you planon cooking your own meals and a supermarket is only a few blocks away. It is also really close to the subway to get you to all the major hubs of NYC. Marcelo is new to hosting. He does his best with helping you find things around NYC, and will improve as he hosts more.
Jun 27, 2019My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stay for 10 days in NYC, we found Marcelo's by airbnb and was the best thing that could happen! Marcelo was great the apt is less than a block from 145th metro station, the room was super clean! we was really nice the hole time we were at the apt. If you are looking for a place to stay, Marcelo is a great host! the best option :) Mi novio y yo estabamos buscando un cuarto donde quedarnos en nyc, por airbnb encontramos a Marcelo, desde el principio fue muy respetuoso y atento via mail. Desde el momento que llegamos al apt nos recibio de la mejor forma, el cuarto estaba impecable, tenia toallas, mapa de nyc y de la zona para que nos ubicaramos perfectamente. El apt queda a menos de una cuadra de la estacion 145 linea naranja o azul, parece lejos pero enrealidad no se demora mas de 20 minutos hasta la parte mas baja de la isla. La pasamos increible con marcelo, el mejor anfitrion que pudimos haber encontrado.
Jun 27, 2019Marcelo is an awesome host! His home was VERY clean and inviting. The apartment was centrally located with easy access to the main subway trains routed to the city. We explored everything! I would recommend staying with Marcelo if you plan to visit NYC. He is an amazing character, full of personality. You'll enjoy his array of instruments from all over the world. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and enjoy our week long vacation.

He also always helped us out if we had any questions, and gave us some good tipps. The location was great, because the Subway-Station is right around the corner (took us about 20 minutes to Downtown Manhattan). All together it was great get to know, and staying with Marcello :)
Jun 27, 2019Nos hospedamos 10 dias en lo de Marcelo y lo pasamos increible! Marcelo es muy amable y simpatico. Siempre se mostro muy amigable y dispuesto a ayudarnos en todo lo que estaba a su alcance. El departamente es muy comodo y luminoso. No hay ruidos molestos y se puede dormir muy bien por las noches. Esta muy bien ubicado, a media cuadra de 4 subtes, de los cuales 2 son express, por lo que llegas a cualquier parte de la ciudad muy rapido. Y desde el JFK es directo y facil de llegar. Si tienen suerte y tiempo, vayan a ver cualquiera de las bandas de Marcelo que son geniales!! Cuando volvamos a NYC, sin duda elegimos a Marcelo para que nos hospede!
Jun 27, 2019L'appartement est très bien situé à 100 mètres du métro (4 lignes), ce qui permet d'être très rapidement dans les différents quartiers de la ville. L'accueil de Marcelo est très chaleureux et très attentionné. Grâce à lui, nous avons passé un séjour formidable à New York. Nous recommandons cette adresse.

Good points of the apartment : - Good price for NYC - Location (very close to the subway) Bad points : - The apartment was not very clean - The apartment is a basement. The elevator didn’t work in the building. You have to go through the garbage to access the basement. I hope you're not afraid of rats!
Jun 27, 2019Viajamos a Nueva York con mi novia desde Colombia, y nos quedamos en el sitio de Marcelo por 10 días en año nuevo! El apartamento estaba exactamente como aparece en las fotos; estaba ubicado en el basement del edificio, a pesar del frío y de estar ubicado allí, no era para nada oscuro, no se sintió frío a pesar de estar en las épocas mas frías del año! No nos encontramos con Marcelo, lo cual fue una pena, pero sin embargo el estuvo muy pendiente de nosotros, nos comunicábamos frecuentemente por mail, siempre estuvo muy atento, nos ayudo con concejos para el viaje y de como disfrutar la ciudad, definitivamente un excelente anfitrión! Todo salió perfecto! La ubicación es excelente!! queda a media cuadra del subway de donde puedes tomar los trenes mas rápidos que te llevan a Manhattan en un santiamén, o si prefieres tomar el bus también lo puedes hacer! Para llegar allí desde el JFK solo tienes que tomar el sky tren y luego tomar el tren A y listo! te toma aproximadamente 1 hora y media ! El resto del apartamento es genial, si lo que necesitas es un lugar donde llegar y dormir en una ciudad que no te da tiempo para nada mas! La cocina es muy amplia, puedes cocinar si quieres y el baño es amplio y muy limpio! Definitivamente me quedaría a allí de nuevo sin lugar a dudas!
Jun 27, 2019Estuvimos en el departamento de Marcelo por un mes y fue una experiencia mas que satisfactoria. El apartamente es tal cual figura en las fotos, es amplio y espacioso. Marcelo fue un buen anfitrion siempre dispuesto a ayudarnos. Nos sentimos como en casa. Usamos la cocina libremente. En la misma dispone de todo lo necesario para hacer lo que sea. Nos llevamos de New York los mejores recuerdos y un nuevo amigo!!! Gracias Marcelo!!
Jun 27, 2019Love the place! The apartment is exactly like the photos he put on the website (and clean!). My friend and I were staying for 4 nights, even though we didn't have much chance to have a conversation with Marcelo (because we were out pretty much all the time), he's a great host! Marcelo was being thoughtful and helpful during our stay. It was easy to get around and you don't have to worry because you can find pretty much everything in the neighborhood! We definitely will go back to Marcelo's for our next trip to NYC!
Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Marcelo's apartment for 8 days, first of all the location is unbelievably close to the subway (40sec. walk) and also grocery shop, starbucks, supermarket and takeways are all within less than 5 minutes walk. The area is very safe(day and night) police station just inside the subway. The apartment is quite big, large kitchen, good size bedroom and lovely living room. Very comfortable bed and plenty of room for luggage and clothes. Now the most important part: Marcelo! What a nice person! We couldn't have been more lucky to find not just a host but a mate! We had a lovely time together, chatting and cooking whenever we were home at the same time, very respectful and generous and available for any requests! We'll be back for sure on our next trip to NY. He'll help you if you need anything. His place is very good with a very comfortable bed. Besides, you are very very close to the subway. We had the chance to share a meal with Marcelo in an excellent restaurant full of chocolate ahah ! We will, for sure, come back to Marcelo's for our next trip to New York ! Jun 27, 2019Host: Marcelo was AMAZING. Very friendly and we talked over tea the first day or two. Expectations: The bed was extremely comfortable. The unit is located by the laundry room and the brief walk from the elevator to the room is almost unbearable due to the smell. Neighborhood: Not in the best area of town, but I think you'd be ok.

Conocimos no solo a un gran anfitrion, sino a un amigo q estamos seguros volveremos a visitar! El lugar es muy amplio, comodo y funcional. La cama es muy comoda!! La cocina tiene todo lo que necesitas! En cuanto al barrio, muy tranquilo y pintoresco. Tienes supermercado y tiendas a pocos metros y lo mejor....el subte en la esquina! Definitivamente volveriamos a alojarnos en la casa de Marcelo! Recomendable a toda la comunidad de air bnb!
Jun 27, 2019I spent nearly 12 days in house of Marcelo and was a very good experience. Positives: the department has everything as it appears in the photography, is spacious and fairly clean. Marcelo is a very polite and friendly person. Negatives: is that the department is a little bit far to downtown, can take a bit of time travel to the tourist areas, however, is well connected to the subway is steps from the apartment. In general was a very good experience! Thanks Marcelo for your hospitality.
Jun 27, 2019Pasamos una semana, con mi novio, en el departamento de Marcelo, y no encuentro nada negativo sobre nuestra estadía. Todo fue perfecto. El departamento es como se ve en las fotos, limpio, ordenado, cómodo, la cocina y el baño están perfectos. El subte a 40 metros, en 20 min te deja en el centro, y funciona 24 hs. El barrio es seguro, hasta para caminar por la noche. Lo mejor de todo, Marcelo, buena onda, atento, se preocupa por todo, te ayuda en lo que necesites, y te aconseja lo que sea que le preguntes.

Location of the apt is great, just 2 minutes to the subway. We felt safe and we did not have any unpleasantness, even though it is Harlem. We spent 28 wonderful days in Marcelo's place and we can not wait to come back to NYC. It is the best city in the world!
Jun 27, 2019Marcelo was a great host. He made us feel very welcome and was in even though we arrived during the afternoon. He told us some top things to do in NYC and gave us plenty of advice and directions which was very helpful. We were then left to our own devices which suited us fine as we had lots of things to do during our stay. The location was great, very close to the subway with express trains to downtown running often. There is a great deli across the on the street which do decent breakfast sandwiches. All in all a great air bnb stay in New York, would highly recommend.
Jun 27, 2019Marcelo was an amazing host. He made us feel like at home and gave us really good advice to visit local music and food venues. The room is exactly who it looks in the website. Clean, spacious, and very comfortable bed. The apartment is super clean, organized, and has plenty of day light. The neighborhood was safe at any time of the day and it is perfectly located half block from four lines of the train. You are in Manhattan and can get anywhere in the island in less than 30 minutes.

Very close to the subway station (half block) (Website hidden by Airbnb) trains, A and D are express, so from the apartment to times square takes 15 minutes. The neighbourhood is ok, supermarket 2 blocks away, donkin donuts on the corner. Everything was excellent!! Marcelo un fenómeno, muy buena onda, el departamento muy grande, perfecto wifi y baño, muy cerca del subte, a 15 minutos en tren expreso a times square. El barrio es seguro, supermercado a dos cuadras. Varios lugares para comer alrededor. Muchas gracias por todo!
Jun 27, 2019Estuvimos 9 días en el apartamento de Marcelo, y la experiencia fue genial. Es tal y como se muestra en las fotos, incluso la habitación dispone de aire acondicionado propio. Marcelo se mostró muy atento en cada momento ayudando en todo lo que le fue posible. El barrio nos pareció seguro y tranquilo, además de contar con todo tipo de servicios muy cerca. - lo mejor: Marcelo por supuesto, wifi gratuito y una ducha genial. La parada de metro express a 2 minutos -lo peor: estancias como la habitación y el baño podrían estar más limpias
Jun 27, 2019Staying with Marcelo was wonderful! The neighborhood is nice, with food, a bank and VERY close to the A train. Marcelo was very accommodating on the arrival time for us. We arrived in town and immediately went to a show. He allowed us to check in later in the evening, even though it was sort of late on a week night. Marcelo's apartment is very comfortable and welcoming. We loved staying with him. I will definitely be coming back soon!
Jun 27, 2019Had a great trip to NY, Marcelos place is awesome. Great price and great access to all of NY. It's less than a block from the A,B,C and D trains so u can b almost anywhere in the city in abt half an hour for just one metro fare. The place itself is nice too, really clean and comfortable, and it has everything you need. It's like staying at home because you're able to use anything and everything in the apt. Marcelo was really helpful and answered every question we had immediately. Very good source of info, really friendly, outgoing guy. You should definitely stay here, highly recommended Tuvimos una gran viaje, el depto es perfecto. El precio es bajo y la ubicacion es perfecta, a menos de una cuadra de la subte, ofrece acceso a toda la ciudad en solo 30-40 minutos. El barrio es muy seguro, y el depto es limpio, brillante y comodo. Es como quedarse en su propia casa, porque tienes todo lo que necesitas. Marcelo es muy servicial, definitivamente de buen onda. Puede contestar cualquier predunta que tengas, tan pronto como tu le preguntes, es muy disponible. Quedete aqui, no encontraras nada mejor

Jun 27, 2019Marcelo was a wonderful host! We had a great time at his place. Advantages are: 1) Really close to subway; 2) Three stations away from the center of the city if you take express train; 3) Quiet place; 4) Laundy room in the basement; 5) Grossery store, pizza and donats 2 minutes away. Also try fish (shrimps) and chips in a place called "famous fish market"; 6) Apartment itself is really nice, clean and big for NY. There's everything you need in it, otherwise Marcelo will be happy to help. Marcelo is very nice guy, we felt really comfortable staying at his place.

El departamento es tal cual se ve en las fotos (muy cómodo), el subte está muy cerca y con eso te movés a todos lados: Hasta Times Square sólo tenés 15 o 20 minutos si tomás el express train. Pizza, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts, verdulería, burguers y kioscos (abiertos las 24hs) a metros. Marcelo es muy amable. Los días que estuvimos allí llovió y él nos brindó paraguas y un mapa de todo NY (yo tenía solo de Manhattan). PD: Muy bueno el Chelsea market, Marce!

The neighborhood is the best in Manthattan you can still afford, with access to Midtown within 15 minutes and lots of nice bars/diners nearby. The room was as described on the pictures. Marcelo is the perfect host: kind, helpful and always available for any requests. We will definitely come back.

Jun 27, 2019Marcelo is super kind, welcoming and warm. He didn't get in our way but was also very open and happy to offer his help. It was super interesting to get to know him and his love for music! If we ever go back we will for sure stay with Marcelo again! The apartment was located 2 minutes from the A train so it was easy to get downtown in no time. The apartment was big and it was easy to feel like we had some privacy. The kitchen had everything we needed and with a supermarkedet two blocks away we enjoyed that we were able to cook. Thank you Marcelo, staying with you was definitely one of the highlights of our visit in New York

Jun 27, 2019We stayed 1 week at Marcelo's place. The location is very good. (5 minutes to the subway, 20 min to Times Square ...) the neighborhood is safe. Marcelo is very nice, and he replies quickly to the text messages. The room is big enough for a couple. There are shops close to the appartment (café, donuts ...) I recommend his place :) !

Ele foi super solícito e prestativo, me ajudou em tudo que precisei, mas também foi muito discreto e respeitou bastante minha privacidade. Se você é mulher e está viajando sozinha tenha certeza que se sentirá muito tranquila e segura aqui. A localização é excelente, ao lado do metrô e pontos de ônibus. O bairro é super tranquilo e familiar. Super indico! Adorei a estadia!

Jun 27, 2019El apartamento está muy bien situado, a cien metros de una boca de metro .Justo al lado hay una cafetería, un banco, varios supermercados , tiendas locales, sitios para comer y cenar. En cuanto al apartamento,está bien,cama cómoda y la cocina muy grande.El baño un poco lejos de la habitación pero no es un problema.Marcelo es muy agradable y te ayuda en todo lo que pueda.Calidad,precio totalmente recomendable.
