This used to be a private room, but we've upgraded it to a whole apt! Beautiful decor, custom built furniture, and tons of space make the apartment an incredible place to stay. You'll have the lower level bedroom and the upstairs living room and kitchen. Having one and a half baths is great for larger groups as well.

Neighborhood Overview
We have a 24 hour fruit stand, great supermarkets, and world-class restaurants. The neighborhood is family friendly and safe. Living here has been great for me and my family and I can't wait for you to experience the magic of Astoria. Be sure to set aside some nights to eat out locally!

Transit
We're just a block away from 30th ave, and Astoria Blvd. Both stops on the N Q line. The N and Q go from Astoria to Manhattan and Brooklyn. We're also close to the express bus that goes to LaGuardia airport and Harlem (both just 10 minutes away!). There's parking on the street, but read the signs we have alternate side parking.
Access
You'll have the lower level bedroom and half bath, upstairs you'll have a living room kitchen and bathroom. Once again, the listing is for the whole apartment, and we're happy to have it you!

Please remove your shoes when you're in the apartment. There's a nice shoe rack right by the door. Please wash your dishes after you use them. At the end of your stay, please shut all lights and close windows when leaving the apartment. You may leave the keys on the dining room table. Thank you so much for your help.

I had the pleasure of being Gabriel's first Airbnb customer. With that said I do not think it would matter if you were the first or the 61st, Gabriel and his Mother, Mirta made ever effort to make the stay an absolute pleasure. The space is private,quiet and very comfortable, with a separate private entrance. The location is close to many good restaurants and the train. You have easy access to the city (train) as well as walking distance to all of Astoria. I would highly recommend this site for 1 or two people. Jerry
Jul 27, 2019There are no words to describe accurately the experience I had staying with Gabriel and his mum in Astoria for ten days so I will try to be systematic so i can maybe help other travelers. Firstly the room was amazing. It was the basement of their home with a lot of space and a half bathroom. Really relaxing experience with all the privacy you want, a large TV with Netflix and Amazon for those who like to watch a nice movie when coming back from a long day in New York. The photos on airbnb are not really capturing how nicely decorated and well kept is the room. Nothing compared to other rooms I have seen in Astoria. The towels provided are of very good quality and very large, the wi-fi works perfectly and there is plenty of space for your things. To me and after seeing a lot of rooms, there is no doubt that this one is the best taking into consideration the space provided, the location and the price asked! The neighborhood was again really pretty. Very safe with lots of shops for food and interesting markets. I had the feeling and really wanted to go back to Astoria and walk around after a busy day in Manhattan. 4min walk to 30th station and 16 min ride to Lex avenue and the upper east side which in my opinion is the best area in NY I can't say enough about Gabe and his mum. Their hospitality was awesome! I was welcomed with a lot of snacks, fruits and a bottle of wine waiting for me when I arrived and kept coming during my stay. Gabe was answering immediately to all my texts and tried to sort out anything I needed in order to feel more at home! But besides that the most important thing is that both of them are very interesting and well educated people. You can have a lot of discussions about lots of things and learn, which at least for me is very important! I think I made some friends in NYC, which by the way is a truly amazing city. Highly recommended, no need to look anywhere else! Thanks a lot guys.
Jun 27, 2019Staying at Gabe's apartment was a domestic Experience with a capital E. Gabe met me when I arrived and showed me the place. He had answers to my questions about the area and was good company while I settled in, great guy. His guest floor includes a private entrance and bath, custom furniture laid out to fit the space, and enough artwork to befit a museum. Let me count the ways I loved this place: 1) Laid out and available were snacks, coffee machine + spindle of flavor cups, water, and a toothbrush. 2) The place has style. I keep a good home but Gabe clearly has a future career as interior decorator awaiting him. 3) Plants! There's a garden of greenery spread around the apt. 4) Everything useful is labeled, from the lightswitches to the recycling bin. 5) There is a pre-sentient voice-activated music player in the living room. "Alexa play some Jazz". "Alexa louder". "Alexa next". I'll be getting one of these for myself, it's from Amazon apparently. Hosts like Gabe make Airbnb amazing to use. I hope all my future hosts will be similarly excellent.
Jun 27, 2019My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay at Gabe's home. This is what AirBnb is all about! From the first moment, Gabe and his mother made us feel welcome and were eager to make our stay more comfortable. We were even provided with some food, fresh linen and towels! The room is better than as advertised and has all of the necessary amenities. The apartment is a short two minute walk to the nearest metro, and about a half hour train into Manhattan. I would highly recommend this room to anyone and will definitely return one day!
Jun 27, 2019Very cozy, tidy and spacious suite, helpful and nice hosts. You get a huge room and restroom in the basement, separate entrance, shower and kitchen are shared, but considering it's NYC, it's a great deal. The metro is 5 min walk away, there are groceries, restaurants and gyms around. Gabriel was always there to answer all our silly questions and gave us good advice about anything we would ask. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to explore the great city.
Jun 27, 2019We had a really great stay at Gabe's! I mean no complaints at all!! The bed was super comfortable, the room was really beautiful, and the apartment was extremely nice. Gabe and his mother were very friendly, (we had the place to ourselves) which was perfect although we were out wandering the city all day, when we did see them upon arrival they were helpful, sweet, & very welcoming! The area is perfect, very close to the train, shops, cafés and some of the best food on this trip. Super nice block - nothing to worry about with a private entrance, that allows you to come and go freely. It was such a nice spot! The pictures do not give you what the experience will - it was great not having to NOT worry about anything. Gabe provided towels, toiletries, iron, Tylenol any and everything you may need on a trip (that you sometimes forget to pack). Thanks Gabe! I totally recommend staying here, whether for a day or a month. The price is right and the place is even better :)
Jul 27, 2019My girlfriend and I had an extended stay in Gabriel's Astoria location, and everything about it was absolutely perfect. Gabe is an incredible host, makes you feel like you're living in your own home (even provided a ridiculous amount of Keurig coffee for us), and gave us all the info and advice we needed to have a great time in the city. His home is beautiful and you are able to live in the entire lower floor, and it truly feels like you have your own personal space. We were both very comfortable for our whole trip and I cannot recommend staying with Gabe enough, it was a wonderful experience!

Jun 27, 2019Gabriel was an expert host. So friendly and on hand with any queries or questions. While talking one night he noticed the smallest piece of dirt on the floor(which I didnt notice) and immediately cleaned it up. He also has great knowledge about the local area which you should tap into. Gabriels place is amazing and alot more space which the photos do not do justice. From the bed and couch being extremely comfortable to the shower and everything being immaculate it was just an absolute pleasure staying with Gabriel. By far the best airbnb experience I have had. Well done Gabriel you were a great host.
Jun 27, 2019I had a fairly lengthy stay with Gabe at the apt when I was looking for my own place after moving to NYC. Really a very comfortable place, almost like your own studio in that you have a relatively large basement room with toilet to yourself, your own entrance, etc. They keep the place spotless an clean regularly, change sheets and towels, etc. 5 min walk to the N/Q train and lots of food, shopping etc very nearby. Probably one of the best Airbnb options in Astoria and definitely way better (in terms of value for money) than any hotel, especially if you are staying for more than a few days. Bottom line - was very happy there and would stay again or reccommend to friends.

Jun 27, 2019Gabriel's mother welcomed us at the arranged time. The apartment was modern and clean. Our downstairs space was large and private. It was especially nice to have our own half bath and separate entrance to the suite. Full kitchen and bath upstairs were always available. Neighborhood was safe and quiet. Very convenient location with subway and bus stops only 2 blocks away which makes for easy access to Laguardia airport or midtown Manhattan. Small shops near by to stock up on groceries, bake goods, wine, etc. Jimbo's is an excellent Greek bar and grill one block away that has entertainment 6 nights a week. Paid short and long term parking available 2 blocks away. Excellent NYC stay!

Adorable and even better in person. I would definitely recommend this apartment to all and would totally stay here again when in Astoria!

Jun 27, 2019I've stayed in probably 5-10 airbnbs in NYC, this was the best one in terms of single apartment. Really wonderful stay and honestly you are so close to the subway that its also a very well connected area (when MTA is running properly of course =P). Regarless of that, Gabriel is a super host, makes everything easy going. The flat is beautiful and comfy. I'd stay here again for sure.

Jun 27, 2019Gabriel and Mirta's place is so nice! It's a duplex apartment, so there is an upper and lower floor within one apartment. The upper floor contains the bathroom and the kitchen, which are spacious and clean. The bedroom is in the lower floor, with comfortable bed, a huge sofa, and TV. The place was sparkling clean and the location was great, short walk to the subway station and to amenities like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Check in was smooth, and because the room was on the ground floor, we had no difficulty lugging our suitcases. Highly recommend!
