Jun 27, 2019Really nice and clean loft apartment. Not for the tall or those who dont like stairs. It was perfect for our 1 night stay in Istanbul. The location was perfect for us and despite being so tiny, the place still felt very roomy. Would definitely stay here again.

Jun 27, 2019We loved this cozy little apartment, the balcony we had breakfast at every morning! It may not be suitable for tall people though, the ceiling is a bit low but otherwise we enjoyed the place and the neighborhood!

Jun 27, 2019Make sure you are in communication with Zenka rooms prior to your check in date. After waiting at the address given for nearly two hours, we then heard from them for the first time and were told to go to a nearby restaurant to get the keys for the apartment. No WiFi for the duration of our stay, they did attempt to solve the issue with no luck. Also not a full kitchen if you need that, only a sink counter and fridge. Besides that the apartment is great, clean, beautiful terrace for relaxing on an evening. Not advisable for tall people! Thank you.

Jun 27, 2019Overall I am pleased with my stay. The Cihangir neighborhood is lively and comfortable, one of Istanbul's remaining secular outposts. When I checked in there was an issue with the apartment I booked - the host was quick to acknowledge her mistake and allow me to stay in another room in the building for the night. As other reviewers have written - as this is an attic apartment, the floors in the bedrooms and bathroom are sloped, making it difficult to maneuver comfortably. The bedrooms also get quite stuffy. It would also be helpful for future guests to know that you will need to pick up the keys from the neighboring restaurant, Otto Cihangir.

Jun 27, 2019Я была в Zenka rooms с 02.08.17 по 05.08.17. Осталась очень довольна. Очень понравился район, в котором мы жили. До метро совсем рядом. От площади Таксим есть трансферы в аэропорты, на автовокзал. Для меня это оказалось очень важным. Вокруг в районе много кафешек, магазинчиков, непосредственно во дворе Zenkarooms потрясающий ресторанчик - великолепнейшие, очень вкусные завтраки и божественный гриль. Но имейте в виду, что вечером там полно народу и найти свободный столик может быть проблемой. У нас были две комнаты, все чисто, очень аккуратно. Отдельное спасибо Zenkarooms, что разрешили вторую комнату сдать намного позже.

Jun 27, 2019Zenka was a great host...very attentive to messages but because of the language barrier, it was not entirely clear that the keys were held by a night watchman at the Otto Cihangir Cafe. Thanks to a Turkish-speaking man who helped with translations at the airport, that this was the case. The cafe was difficult to spot late at night; for others who are arriving late, look for the Savoy Cake shop opposite the alleyway. My six nights were comfortable though best for short folks like me. Unfortunately an earlier rainstorm seeped through the windows and both mattresses closest to the windows were wet. Good thing I was a single traveller and with a little rearrangement of the mattress in one of the bedrooms made the rest of the stay entirely satisfactory. There was a problem with the light in the bathroom on the first night but Zenka bounced in as soon as he got my message and got an electrician to fix it immediately. Less so with the sensor light that came on on day 3 and would not go off the rest of the stay. Admittedly it was during an important Muslim holiday. The location was perfect, not far from Taksim and Tophane for transport links. Lots of cafes and restaurants a short walk from the flat. Surprisingly quiet despite being in the middle of a lively area. The building, though old, smelt lovely as did the flat. The towels and sheets were super clean. Air conditioner great for cooling the rooms down after a warm day under the eaves. The sloping ceilings can be a problem for some. Even I, at 1.63cm, managed to hit my head a few times. The balcony was great though don't leave it or windows opened when out, as the roaming cats may decide to stray in. Be warned that there is very little in way of cutlery or plates but perhaps Zenka will take my suggestion of providing some. All in all a very highly recommended place because I liked the area and in a building with character, very Parisian in feel, and very safe. Thank you Zenka.
Jun 27, 2019Clean room with two full beds and living space. Apartment is an attic-like space so cannot stand in either of the bedrooms. Very strange check-in process. Getting the correct information about check-in, check out was nearly impossible. I went to a cafe outside and asked wait staff I was there for Zenak. They asked around and finally a woman who "checked me in" took me in through a back door, and practically ran up the steps, and left without saying a word. I understand language barriers but with no info and no welcome, I was not satisfied.
Jun 27, 2019Zenka's place is a very clean accommodation in a central location suitable for the vibrant & traditional/commercial part of the city. A very smart and ergonomic converted loft. Highly friendly and approachable host. Strongly recommended.
Jun 27, 2019As others have noted the ceilings are very low! The only place you can stand fully upright is the living room bit, and there is a stool to sit on when you have a shower. But we spent most of our time exploring so it didn't matter that the room was small, and it's good value for the location. The balcony is really lovely to have and sit on, and the cafe below is a great place to eat or work, really nice vibes. Overall a great stay!
Jun 27, 2019I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the apartment. It is super clean with a beautiful scenery. The place is also strategically located within walking distances to the Taksim Square and the Galata Tower. The place might not be suitable for tall people, but luckily for me, the small space didn't turn out as a problem. And lastly Zenka is also a wonderful host, friendly, with almost spontaneous replies and was very helpful throughout my stay.
Jun 27, 2019The apartment is very cute and central in Istanbul. There was a bit difficult to finally get the keys to the apartment since they forgot to give it to us the first time and when we got them the second time the keys to the building of the apartment was missing. But worked out fine in the end. The apartment ceiling is low, so careful if you're over 150 cm you will not be able to stand upwards in the shower :) but overall a good experience though, and the balconies were especially nice.

Jun 27, 2019It is located in a very central area in Istanbul and it is easy to find. The place is very clean. However the place is a lot smaller than it looks in the photos. It is not possible to stand in the bedrooms or in the bathroom. The beds are on the floor. The cleaning lady tried to enter the room before we checked out which was really disturbing. All in all, the price is a bit high for the service but it was okay since we stayed only for a night.
Jun 27, 2019I don t recommend this accomodation !!!!! We were 3 french girls, first time in Istanbul. We arrived around 10.30 PM by taxi and the airbnb adress was wrong. The taxi driver tried to call zenka, she didn t answer. We asked other guys in the street to call her. No answer. I found a wifi to text her by airbnb. She answered me and asked me what was the problem. I texted her 2 times to anwer her phone. Finally she answered with a voice very angry. I gave the phone to a turkish guy : the number of the street was wrong (i was printed the reservation) and she explained to the guy we have to ask the keys to a bar . She didn t talk me about that before : recover the key to a bar. Finally we arrived to the accomodation. The wifi didn t work. I asked the waitrer if he can call her. She told him she didn t speak english ... so she didn t want to talk with me. At the end, i texted her by airbnb to know how do we do for the key. She never answered me. The building smelt toilets and the light didn t work everytime in the bathroom.

Jun 27, 2019The location is perfect for everything : close to Taksim place, close to Tophane station (Tram), close to istiklal street, neighborhood calm, not tourist. The entry: for the entrance we had to come behind the building because there is some construction work in front. Anyway It's more easier to find. We kept back the key to Otto Cihangir ( it's a bar). Very helpful people. I strongly recommend this place. I will come back there. Thank you

Jun 27, 2019Ездили отдыхать на Новый год двумя парами. Все понравилось, местоположение отличное! 10 минут пешком от площади Таксим и 20 минут пешком до султан Ахмеда. Да потолки низкие, но это не мешает вообще, очень переживали по этому поводу. Всем советую! 5 из 5
Jun 27, 2019Мы приезжали вчетвером (я, муж и двое дочерей - подростков). Нам нравится этот район. Жилье нам подошло - особенно соотношение цена/качество. Да, низкие потолки в санузле и спальнях, но не критично. Мы были к этому готовы. Есть общая комнатка с диванчиком и кухонным уголком и две небольшие спальни. Хороший балкончик, но мы были зимой и использовали его не часто. Рядом все есть : супермаркеты и много кафе для завтраков и чтобы выпить отличный кофе. Я рекомендую Kahve 6 и Kronotrop. Для обеда - Cihangir Lokantası и Ozkonak

Jun 27, 2019Le logement était top, pratique (wifi, balcon, sécurisé). Si on fait moins d’ 1m75 ça va. Les endroits les moins hauts sont les chambres et la salle de bain mais on y passe pas sa vie non plus. Seul bémol il n’y pas de glace dans la salle de bain, il y en a une dans les escaliers mais pas pratique car peu de lumière. Le quartier est vraiment super à 5min de Taksim, vivant (restaurants, bars, supérettes), on se sent en sécurité. Deniz du Otto Bistro est arrangeante et avec (Hidden by Airbnb) translate pas de problème !

Jun 27, 2019È una casa molto carina ma davvero davvero piccola. Persone troppo alte potrebbero avere seri problemi per via della poca altezza del soffitto. Nel piccolo salottino è possibile stare relativamente in piedi mentre non è possibile farlo nella stanza da letto. Non è possibile cucinare ma c’è un lavello per lavare le tazze. Pur essendo ben attrezzato, il bagno è minuscolo. Il terrazzino è molto carino e d’estate può essere utile. A mio avviso la casa è carina, va bene se non si hanno troppe pretese e se si è elastici per quanto riguardano le dimensioni. Il locale sottostante e che gestisce la casa è un buon punto di riferimento e possono fornire informazioni oltre che cibo.

Yalnızca binanın gürültü çıkarmaya çok müsait olmadığını ve Cihangir'in yapısı gereği balkonda geçireceğiniz vaktin diğer dairelere ve pencerelere biraz yakın olacağını bilmeniz gerek. Ancak genel görgü kurallarına uyduğunuz sürece sorun olmayacaktır. Yer tertemiz, sabun kokularıyla karşılanıyorsunuz. Wifi yeterli. Manzara makul. Fotoğraflar ve diğer yorumlardan dolayı, tavanın alçaklığı sizi endişelendirebilir. Biraz zorluk yarattığı doğru. Banyoda ve yatılan alanlarda biraz eğilmek gerekli olabiliyor ancak abartılacak bir şey değil. Büyük bir güvenle tercih edebileceğiniz bir yer. Son bir not: Mekanın yeri aslında adres olarak Sıraselviler caddesinde ancak küçük bir aralıkta kalıyor. Dolayısıyla size iletilen mekan adıyla yeri ararsanız daha kolay bulabilirsiniz. EN:You will get what you see. Nothing less than expected. You should know the building is old and that means loud noises will travel along thin walls and as a classical Cihangir street, the balcony is very close to other windows but as long as you keep your common sense about manners it shouldn't be a problem. Apartment is clean, welcomes you with soapy smells. Wifi is decent and view is reasonable. You may be concerned about height of the place because of the photographs and other comments. Partially that's true. You may need to do some bending in bathroom and sleeping areas but it's not at a deal breaker level. You can choose this place with trust. PS: Actual adress is on Sıraselviler St. yes, but it's situated in a narrow street. You may need to use place's name to find it on maps.

Jun 27, 2019The place is really cozy situated in a side street near Taksim square. One of the advantages is the balcony and comfortable beds. Mind the height of the ceilings as they are quite low and not suitable if one is over 1.70. The people were all helpful and responsive. Overall the stay was pleasant and I would highly recommend it!
Jun 27, 2019Appartement très bien situé et très propre que je reprendrai avec plaisir pour un autre séjour à Istanbul. Il est très central ce qui permet de faire beaucoup de choses à pied. L’appartement est très propre mais ne dispose de rien pour faire la cuisine, il faut donc prévoir de manger dehors. Il y a une pharmacie, boulangerie et petit supermarché à proximité. Jun 27, 2019Ich hatte diesen Unterkunft für meine Mutter, Tante und Kusine gebucht. Ich selbst bin Erasmus-Student an der Istanbuler Universität. Sie waren aus Tiflis zu Besuch. Weil wir in meiner WG nicht genug Platz hatten, haben wir uns entschieden etwas über Airbnb zu suchen. So bin ich auf ,,Zenka Rooms“ aufmerksam geworden. Um uns einchecken zu können, mussten wir von einem Bistro den Schlüssel abholen. Die Frau, die auch unsere Ansprechspartnerin war, hat uns zu der Wohnung begleitet. Das Gebäude ist aus Holz und macht von außen einen sympathischen Eindruck. Auch beim Reingehen hatte ich sehr gutes Gefühl. Unsere Wohnung war im Dachgeschoss. Die Höhe des Daches im Wohnzimmer war c.a 1,80 cm. und in den ,,Zimmerchen“ 1,30 cm. Die Wohnung ist für die Kleinmenschen gedacht und nicht für die Menschen, die mehr als 1,30 groß sind. Meine Mutter und Tante, die beide Rückenschmerzen haben, mussten die ganze Zeit krum rumlaufen. Beim ins Bett Gehen musste man sich schon direkt vor der Tür hinlegen und zur Matratze kriechen. Duschen war einfach Katastrophe. Das Bad war vielleicht gerade Mal c.a 3 Quadratmeter groß und 1,40 hoch. Als ich die Frau angesprochen habe, dass diese Wohnung nicht den Bildern entsprach, hat sie mir auf ihr Handy die Bilder gezeigt, die tatsächlich in der Wohnung gemacht wurden. Allerdings als ich gebucht habe, waren ganz andere Bilder drin, als die sie mir gezeigt hat. Sie haben mehrere Zimmer, die sie vermieten und auf der Seite sind die Bilder vermischt, sodass man die nicht zu einem Zimmer zuordnen kann. Ich wäre nie auf die Idee gekommen, dass man sowas vermietet. Es möge für Pärchen vielleicht schön und romantisch sein, aber nicht für 50 jährigen Menschen, die unter Rückenschmerzen leiden. Ich finde sowas muss extra groß geschrieben werden, dass die Wohnung 1,30 hoch ist!
Jun 27, 2019L’appartamento è carino e siamo stati bene. L’unico difetto è l’altezza, non è consigliabile per persone più alte di un metro e 80 cm. In ogni caso nella stanza da letto e in bagno non si può stare in piedi, all’inizio é un po’ strano e sicuramente non il massimo della comodità ma poi ci si abitua. La location è molto pratica e a 2 minuti da piazza Taksim. Siamo stati bene e il letto anche se è a pavimento è comodissimo. Tutto pulito!
Jun 27, 2019Не смогли с ходу найти апартаменты, позвонили хозяину, он нашел нас и объяснил куда идти, за что ему большое спасибо. Стильное место недалеко от площади Таксим. Вокруг куча мест, где можно покушать, метро тоже недалеко, так что мы с 2 детьми легко добирались до всех достопримечательностей. Отличный вид с балкона. Из минусов: в спальнях и в душе низкие потолки, приходилось ходить внаклонку. Постоянно пахло куревом из окон. Для тех, кто едет с детьми: Балкон не запирается на ключ, окна тоже легко открываются.
Jul 27, 2019Excellent location, hosts friendly and quick to respond both on email and in person, and to act should problems arise. Place is clean and pleasant. Would recommend. Just FYI: Not the place if you're looking for tips and host interactions, or cute little amenities. Wifi is present but unreliable. Ask for good directions before arriving (don't rely on street number). Roof of bedrooms is low enough that short people need to bend over/mattress on floor. Just to keep in mind....But not to dissuade!
Jun 27, 2019Please read my review to the end, it might save your life. The listing for this flat is very misleading. I booked it for myself and a friend. We are 183 and 182 cm tall, and there is only approximately 6sqm in the whole place where we can stand up straight. You have to sit down to shower and pee. The bedroom I was in was horribly claustrophobic, and my friends was smaller. It's not "cosy", or "compact" it's just completely unusable. The vast majority of the flat is 160cm high or much less. This fundamental problem is mentioned nowhere in the listing. If you are lucky enough to connect to the wifi, then you will discover that it is completely unusable. The hosts are aware of this, as previous reviews will show. The listing states there is a half bath. There is not even a half shower. The intro to the listing says you have a kitchen. You do not. There's just a sink in the living room, with an unfitted fridge handily placed to prevent you from reaching the sink, and to stub your toe in the process. There is supposed to be a laptop friendly workspace. There is not. But then you won't need that because there's no wifi anyway. On the first night we stayed here, I woke in the morning covered in bites. I did not see a single mosquito anywhere, so there's a good chance that I was bitten by bed bugs. The "curtains" are bits of fabric shut into the windows, so if you open the windows, the "curtains" fall down. You only get one set of keys with this property. At first this appears merely a little inconvenient, but when you realise that you can not leave the property without a key, in the unlikely event of a fire then this is not inconvenient, it's life threatening. In short this listing is misleading, and the flat is an uncomfortable, impractical, insanitary death trap. With very bad wifi.

Jun 27, 2019Le séjour dans l’appartement était parfait . L’appartement est petit mais confortable et agréable. ( par contre les grandes personnes ne peuvent pas être debout car le plafond est à beaucoup d’endroit bas) Le balcon donne un charme à l’appartement et un espace agréable si il fait beau. Il n’y a vraiment rien pour cuisiner donc il faut penser à manger dehors. L’accès à l’appartement et la communication furent parfaite. La propreté irréprochable. Je retournerais volontiers dans cette appartement.

Jun 27, 2019This place is quiet & the balcony is wonderful. It is very clean and I felt safe in this area. I’m a petite woman and so this apartment was perfect for me. That said, I can’t imagine it with two guests and if you’re taller than 5.5ft I don’t think you’d be happy here. It suited me nicely. Zenka was diligent with communication and friendly, although she doesn’t speak much English. All was well. I’d recommend this for sure! Just be mindful of the ceiling height.

Jun 27, 2019The keys are given at the bar just beneath in the street. The connexion was very weak, the ceiling is very low so you won't be able to stand most of the time; also the equipment to eat (plates, forks etc) is minimal, even though that's more of a detail as it is not among the announced equipment. The balcony is very nice, so is the neighbourhood, and the appartment is clean and well located, near Taksim Square. It's just a bit weird never to know exactly who you address when corresponding with Zenka but nevertheless it's a good play to stay at and explore the city.
Jun 27, 2019Amazing location and very clean. however if you are over 5'5" it would be uncomfortable. the ceiling is low and the shower is very low. great balcony.

Jun 27, 2019Все было просто супер! Сперва смущали низкие потолки, но потом это вообще не вызвало никаких проблем, так что если вы не 2 метров ростом не бойтесь! Zenka thank you so much!
Jun 27, 2019Want to feel yourself like Gandalf at hobbit’s house? Stay at the Roof Top Terrace! )))) Very clean and cozy apartments under the roof in an old part of the city, with all you need (supermarket, pharmacy, numerous cafes and restaurants) close to it. It has two simetrical bedrooms so is ideal for two couples of travelers. The only disadvantage I found - rather low height of all rooms, especially it feels in bathroom. But all negative is overlapped by the sight from terrace and incredible atmosphere of Istanbul you feel there!
Jun 27, 2019The apartment is located in a liberal district Beyoğlu, where are a lot of restaurants, clubs, shops and other entertainments. Around 1h to go to the city center with all historical places. It’s easier and cheaper to take taxi (~€3,00), if you don’t like walking. The apartment has a low level of ceiling, which can be uncomfortable for someone. But it’s ok, if you don’t stay long in Istanbul. There is a beautiful balcony in the apartment as well.

Jun 27, 2019Thank you for this appartment, we really liked that it was in a great district, very central and calm. House is situated away from main road near the restaurant, which is good, because we didnt hear the noise from the streets. Appartments inside are like on the photos. But the ceilings are very low, which we didn't expect. In main room we could walk normal way, but in bedrooms and bathroom we coud not stand straight because of the roof ceilings.
Jun 27, 2019Хорошее расположение квартиры (Истикляль состредоточие всей тусни в 7 минутах ходьбы). Крутая лестница в квартиру, но нас это не напрягало. Квартира очень маленькая, но нам вчетвером хватало. В квартире есть чайник, миниплитка и посуда. Не хватало микроволновки и столика в гостиной. До остановки транспорта (метро, трамвай,автобусы, фуникулер) 10 мин. Нам понравилось.

Jul 27, 2019Anlatılan ve gösterilen evi tam olarak karşınızda buluyorsunuz. Ev tertemiz ve çok düzenliydi. Yatak ve nevresimler oldukça rahat ve temizdi. Tavanın alçak oluşu gözünüzü korkutmasın, minimum dikkatle büyük sorunlara sebep olmuyor. Güzel bir balkona sahip. Eve girdiğimiz ilk andan itibaren yabancı hissetmedik, oldukça samimi ve şirin bir evdi. Zenka ilgili, güvenilir ve samimi bir ev sahibi.Kesinlikle güvenle tercih edebileceğiniz bir yer.

Jun 27, 2019Прекрасная, колоритная квартира. Очень необычная, нам очень понравилось. Низкие потолки, но это небыло проблемой, с душем было немного сложно, но мы приловчились. Хозяин очень быстро отвечает и помогает во всем, о чем просишь. Была в Стамбуле первый раз, квартира стала ещё одним пунктом, по которому я могу с уверенностью сказать, что я люблю этот город! К Истикляль идти всего пару минут)

Jun 27, 2019Было не трудно найти аппартаменты, заселились сразу по прибытии. В номере было холодно ужасно, батареи слабо грели, а та, что в гостиной вообще не работала, туалет не отапливается вообще. Спасло то, что за время нашего пребывание на улице потеплело, соответственно и в номере тоже. Одеяло одно на двухспальную кровать. Я не против, но кровать, это два матраца на плоду соединённых вместе, тут или нужно ещё сверху класть какой-то общий матрац или класть два одеяла, тк или я, или муж, спали в дырке. В первое утро не было воды от слова совсем, из-за этого пришлось сидеть в номере и ждать когда она пойдёт тк даже зубы было не почистить. Далее проблем с водой не было. Интернет ужасно работал, точнее он почти не работал. До поездки связалась с хозяином что бы уточнить этот вопрос, он заверял, что все проблемы улажены и в крайнем случае есть интернет в кафе рядом. В кафе рядом он тоже не работал. В целом об апартаментах...чисто, один раз убрались и сменили полотенца (мы были 4 ночи), все необходимое есть, в ванной надо бы шторку повесить, близко к центру и не шумно, рядом магазин. Действительно очень низкие потолки.
Jun 27, 2019Check-in is very easy as the house is located behind the restaurant/bar where Zenka works and waiters are there to help. Nevertheless, you do have your privacy. The apartment is located on the top floor (attic) room of a house. Tall people should not stay here as the ceiling is very low. The accommodation is basic with one main space with a television, small couch, and sink with a portable electric stove-top and kettle. There could be more pots and pans. Adjoining this room are two bedrooms each with two mattresses which, pushed together, make a double bed. The restaurant/ pub could be a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, but it didn't keep me up. It's clean and warm. They had cleaners come and tidy and replace the towels, which was lovely.
