Neighborhood Overview
We are the Gateway to Wailea, where the road turns country. We are nested with Haleakala behind us and the Ocean in front with panoramic views of Kahoolawe Island, Molokini Crater, Lanai Island, and West Maui Mountains! Our property is set back in lush tropical surroundings.

Adjoining our beach is the Kihei Boat Ramp, where charters to whalewatch, snorkel and dive can be an enjoyable walk to daily departures! Fine Dining abounds in this area, with choices ranging from Wailea's Grand Resorts to local digs that are all close by. Hike or walk the trails along the pristine beaches of S. Kihei and Wailea. Our beach offers great swimming and snorkeling. It is home to lovely Green Sea Turtles. Kayak, SUP, Bike rentals just across the street .

All guests are required to complete Verified ID with Airbnb. Check in 4:00pm Hawaii Time Check out 11:00am Hawaii Time PARKING: Please use the Side Street to Park that is adjacent to our building. It is close,convenient and private. The custom here is to leave your shoes at the door, so you can enjoy your bare feet! Please rinse off all sand on yourself and beach gear before entering. A hose is at the walkway entry. Enter and leave our home using the sidewalk entry. Please do not walk in front of other people's lanai areas. It is considered private. Please be respectful of the other residents in the complex by keeping noise down at night and early morning. Please remove trash OFTEN to keep ants outside. Trash bags are provided and the dumpsters for garbage and recyclables are located in the corner of the parki

Marilyn's condo is wonderful - best located, very, very clean and lovely! The beach across the street is beautiful and perfekt for snorkeling and watching big turtles! The kihei village is very nice!!!! We had a perfekt, unforgetable time in kihei and in marilyn's condo! Unfortunately we didnt meet Marilyn.... But the communication was great! Thank you, Marilyn, we hope to see you soon in Maui!
Jul 27, 2019Our stay in Kihei was great. The apartment is perfectly located. Marylin was really helpful. She's also a very talented artist and you can see some of her work around the apartment. You can walk to the beach from there if you want or go check out some other amazing beaches. I'd stay there again.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay at Marilyn and David's place was great. The location in Kihei was excellent and easily accessible to everything. The condo itself was clean and comfortable. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella and a cooler was very convenient as well. We'd stay here again as well as recommend others to stay here.
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn's condo was everything we could wish for for a perfect stay in Maui - just few minutes across the street from a wonderful beach, tastefully decorated with an amazing personal touch, super-clean, calm, but close to all Kihei shops and all island destinations! Besides that, Marilyn is a great host and was always available by mail for any questions we had! Many thanks, Marilyn - we had a wonderful time and hope to have the chance to come back! We can highly recommend staying at Marilyn's place!!

The listing description is accurate. Her place is clean and nicely decorated. The condo is located in a quiet residential community. The location is very convenient, and I would definitely recommend her place!
Jun 27, 2019Check in and check out was very smooth and easy. I much prefer the location of Marilyn's Condo in Kihei versus the more toursity Lahaina resort section, which is why we selected this location. It is less than 15 minutes to the best beach in the world, Big Beach! A short 25 minute drive to the airport. the location was also great for our snorkling tour which docked across the street. We only went up the north west side of maui for our luau and parasailing, which the drive is kinda far for that, but not too bad to do twice. Loved the we were able to use the beach chairs and umbrella, THEY ARE A MUST on a sunny day at the beach!!! Only draw back, which is common, was no air conditioning, but we knew that going into it!

Jun 27, 2019The Kihei condo was wonderful. The location is stellar-central to all the great "to-do's" in Maui but tucked back enough from major streets to be quiet and peaceful. We loved listening to bugs at night and birds in the morning. The interior of the condo was clean and well-appointed and the grounds were lush. Marilyn's artwork throughout the home and skillful rendering of feng shui decor made the place a comforting and calming retreat. On a scale of 10, I'd rate our overall experience at a 9.5.
Jun 27, 2019This is a nice condo on in South Kihei near Wailea. Across the street from a nice beach, and a good value. As with many places in Hawaii, there is no AC so it can be a little warm.
Jun 27, 2019Excellent place to stay while in Maui. Great location in Kihei right across the street from an amazing beach with shops and restaurants walking distance away. The apartment itself was great with all the amenities available and fully stocked for use. I 100% recommend staying here!
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn was an excellent host. She was warm and welcoming in all communication, even texting us during our stay to see if we needed anything. I gave her 3 stars for a couple reasons, some out of her control. Her place is charming, but lacks air conditioning. I'm from the Central Valley of CA & know heat, but the place is too hot to be in from 12-5pm, even with the drapes closed & the fans on high. This meant we often could not eat lunch at the apartment & had to eat in town or take something in the morning when we left. The upstairs neighbor also has a loud, aggressive, barking dog that we could hear most evenings. The neighbor also chooses to brush her dog on the balcony, letting the dog hair fall onto Marilyn's patio below, even when we are sitting outside. The final reason, most evenings we would return to the smell of pot from neighbors. Some may not mind this, but it bothers me. I know most of these are not within Marilyn's control, but they did make our stay less than desirable. As mentioned, she was a pleasant host & quickly responded to any questions we had & made us feel welcome in her home.
Jun 27, 2019We absolutely loved Marilyn's home! It was perfect and exactly what we were hoping for. The condo is super clean and Marilyn is wonderful at answering any questions or giving advice! She always got back to me very quickly. The location was great. Everything that we wanted to do and had planned was super close to the condo. The beach across the street is great. Just steps from the condo and never over crowded. The little town just down the road has great restaurants and shops to grab some Souvenirs. We would definitely suggest checking out the Paia fish market for lunch/dinner. You can't go wrong grabbing breakfast at the Kihei Cafe. Make sure to get there early and bring cash!! That's all they accept. If you head in the other direction towards Waliea-Makena you can go to Makena park. Big beach is located here. It's a beautiful beach. The waves get a little big though, so keep that in mind. Marilyn's condo had everything we needed. The view is beautiful. The complex is clean and very quiet. We never saw or heard another person the whole week we were there. It felt like we were the only couple in the complex. Our only concern at first was that there is no AC, but after one night, we quickly realized that it was not needed. Marilyn provides multiple fans and Maui gets very cool at night. With the fan and cool breeze, we slept great!! We managed to get around most of the Island while we were in Maui. And honestly, we always found ourselves wanting to go right back to Kiehi! It's a Very relaxed and laid back community with not an overwhelming amount of touristy activity, which is exactly what we wanted. We definitely will be back to Maui and would LOVE to stay at Marilyn's condo again!!!!

She provided all the things we needed including beach towels, beach chairs and an umbrella that came in handy. The location was perfect. Very close the the beach and restaurant options. I would definitely recommend staying at Marilyn's!
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn was an amazing host and answered all our questions (including a few last minute ones) quickly and helpfully. The house itself is amazing, super comfortable and Marilyn has put a lot of thought into little touches which just made our holiday perfect such as the use of her cooler for picnics! The garden is gorgeous and the perfect place for a morning cup of tea. We also loved the location right near some amazing local snorkelling beaches as well as big beach also close to the local health food store Hawaiian Moons which we kept returning to! Her paintings are also beautiful and add to the peaceful charm of the house. Definitely recommend staying here.
Jun 27, 2019The location was good very close to Waimea which is a beautiful negihborhood with exclusive resorts. We love snorkeling so this aloud us to be closer to La Peruse bay which was exceptional. In the other hand being close to the main road it had a bit of noise. The kitchen was well equipped and the space was big and comfy. Having air conditioning will be a plus because the building gets lots of afternoon sun which make it a little hot.
Jun 27, 2019We absolutely loved Kihei and kept coming back despite traveling out to other parts of Maui.This place is charming and cozy, with a central location to medical clinics, markets, especially beaches. It is the perfect spot if you want a home-feel/based location. We didn't get to meet the host, Marilyn, but she was in constant communication - and followed up quickly on questions. The only downsides were: 1. There is no AC. Coming from San Francisco and being used to the cold, the afternoons in the condo despite multiple fans were almost unbearable indoors. 2. She had some last minute instructions that we were unprepared for (unlisted on her website) regarding guests/visitors. She did, however, accommodate our request. 3. If you love nuts, and nut products, this is not the place for you. We felt a little restricted in the food we could eat/cook at the condo. I myself have multiple food allergies, and most of my food substitutions come in the form of nuts - which I could not eat while there! Otherwise, you will have a lot of fun, with pretty much everything you need close by, good internet speed, quiet neighborhood, and clean home.
Jun 27, 2019Prior to arrival Marilyn sent a text message out to me getting me and reminding me of the house rules. Her hospitality was very much appreciated and got us started on the right foot. The place was exactly as described and perfect. It's not steps from the beach but it's about a 6-10 min walk from the beach. It's very close to food and shopping in kihei. I would definitely recommend and stay at Marilyns condo when given the opportunity

Jun 27, 2019Great location in Kihei! We had an excellent stay in Maui and we're grateful for Marilyn's good advice and to have a chance to stay in her lovely apartment. The location can't be beat and you'll have everything you need if you want to cook some of your own meals - useful, as restaurants are pretty pricey.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay in Kihei was nice. The apartment was in a great location including walking distance to the beach and store. It did get hot with no a/c but as long as you're warm-blooded you shouldn't have an issue. Would stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn is a wonderful host and we appreciated her communication. It is a great value for the price but there are a few things I wish I had paid more attention to before booking. I wish I had looked at a map because it is not exactly steps from the beach (luckily we had a car) and we had issues staying there during the day because without air conditioning it got extremely warm. We are not at all unhappy and we really adored Marilyn. I would just do a bit more research next time. Mahalo, Marilyn!
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn's condo is on the south side of Kihei. Close enough to walk into town or to the beach, but far enough to the edge of town to be peaceful. Marilynn was very helpful with all questions and the accommodations made for a great stay.
Jul 27, 2019Great location, great host with awesome communication! The condo is decorated with Marilyn's art, which gives it a calm and peaceful feel. The place does get very warm during the day--which being from AZ we were sort of used to, but the humidity made it a little worse for us. If you tend to get warm when you sleep you may want to ask host about optional portable AC unit. With the beach, snorkeling, great food and shopping so close by, Marilyn's place was great for our Maui getaway!

We only walked to the beach once as there are so many other places to discover. She promptly had a portable air con unit delivered upon request as the days heated up.
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn's place is very close to the beach, and it is conveniently located near many restaurants and water-gear rental shops. The house is lovely, and we had everything we needed for our four nights of stay. She provided extra beddings and towels as well as beach towels, chairs, and coolers. She was in touch with me throughout my stay, and communication was very smooth. We asked for AC and she had her cleaner come install it right away. She also provided many recommendations which were helpful. (We especially liked Yee's fruit stand - make sure to go there!) We also experienced a power outage that happened all over town, and Marilyn was very good at keeping communication with me and making sure it got resolved. There are no toiletries provided so make sure to bring your own. There is a public washer/dryer outside the unit. If you are renting a car, parking is very easy. Overall a great stay. Mahalo Marilyn!
Jun 27, 2019Marilyns place is very comfortable, spacious and clean. The beautiful beach of Kihei is just across the street, shops and restaurants nearby. The Kitchen provides everyhting you need and we especially loved the Lanai, where we had breakfast every morning. Marilyn was available whenever we needed her and even sent us a list of things to do and see on Maui. We enjoyed this stay to the fullest.

Jun 27, 2019Marilyn is a great host. The lovely Cottage is really only 4 minutes walk from the water, and it's a very pleasant and private space, even though it is in a condominium building. The little lanai is very secluded, and her paintings are lovely. I was visiting without a car, and that was a limitation. There are great restaurants within a short walk, but a grocery store and other shopping is at a greater distance.

Jun 27, 2019The condo is small, but well stocked with necessities. It's right across the street from 5 palms restaurant which we ate at twice and the beach out front is quite nice. It's a short lyft/uber (be aware they will take a few minutes to arrive) down to walei area with shops and bars. The location was perfect for our trip but I would recommend anyone staying on the island to rent a car because getting around otherwise is quite difficult. Overall very happy with Marilyn' s home and specifically with her as a host.

Jun 27, 2019Marilyn’s place was great for our short stay in Kihei! Marilyn was very communicative prior to our stay and her instructions were very clear. We found it easy to park at and check in to the condo. We enjoyed the space- it has a cute lanai to catch a breeze and is just a short walk to the beach! We enjoyed eating at the restaurants just up the road, especially Coconut’s Fish Cafe. Thank you, Marilyn!

Big und Little Beach sind mit dem Auto in 15min erreichbar, Supermarkt und Restaurants in Kihei in ca. 10min mit dem Auto. Mietwagen/Auto ist erforderlich. Gastgeber ist gut vorbereitet auf Gäste und stellt auch Strandutensilien zur Verfügung. Apartment verfügt an entsprechenden Stellen über Hinweiszettel zur korrekten Nutzung. Freundlicher Gastgeber, Unterkunft sehr zu empfehlen.

Jun 27, 2019Marilyn was a great host and explained everything in detail from check-in to what activities we could do. The house had some toiletries so be sure to bring your own. The house does not have AC but she does provide portable fans in addition to having the ceiling fans. She also provides many beach towels and a beach chair to use. The house is in a great location: 5-10min away from most places. You can drive down the main road and there’ll be so many restaurants, stores, and, most importantly, beach areas.

The location is great: literally 4 mins walk to a gorgeous beach with the best sunsets - and a bar with the best value Happy Hour (cocktails and delicious bar snacks) every evening! Marilyn's apartment is fully self-contained with everything you could possibly need to have a really great holiday. She even provides comfy beach chairs and a cooler box which were very useful. The place is in a very small complex - so much nicer than all the vast condo developments everywhere else. We had a lovely 5 nights here and would highly recommend this.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed for almost a month at Marilyn's condo and had a wonderful time. This condo could not be better situated in Kihei , close to the beach , shops & restaurants , really a fantastic location ! To top it all , it is in a very quiet area , it was spotless clean when we arrived , it has all the amenities that you could wish for , good wi-fi. It was kept cool by the 2 fans ( Marilyn also provided an AC to the bedroom, but we did not need to use it). Good beach chairs & towels were also provided . Marilyn reacted promptly to all our messages , ( as an example , my wife asked if she could provide an hoover to help us keep the condo clean during our stay , and next day there was one in the condo when we got back from the beach ). We can highly recommend this condo ! Mahalo ! A hui hou koke iā ʻoe !
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn is a wonderful host, and we are so happy to have stayed at her place during our trip to Maui. She is kind, thoughtful, communicative, and understanding. A few weeks before we arrived, Marilyn sent us helpful information about checking into the condo as well as detailed suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Also, halfway through our stay, we found out that Hurricane Lane would be coming towards the islands. Marilyn called us immediately to talk us through the supplies we should pick up and preparations we should make . As the storm came through, we talked with her everyday. We appreciated all of her helpful check-ins and updates. She was really watching out for us! We also appreciated how understanding and patient she was when our flight home was cancelled because of the storm and we had to scramble to figure out new travel plans. Thankfully, the hurricane was kind to Kihei, and we didn't really feel its effects on that part of the island. In regards to the actual condo itself: - As mentioned in the description, her place is a quick walk to the beach, which made evening sunset walks very convenient. The long stretch of beach near the apartment is beautiful. We visited the waters almost every day, and it was nice not having to drive. - The area that the condo is located is peaceful and relaxing. It was nice to come back to a quiet space after long days out adventuring. - We enjoyed eating breakfast on the outdoor lanai, which felt quite private and had a lovely view of palm trees and the water. - The condo is filled with beautiful paintings done by Marilyn herself!

It’s a beautiful, quiet location that is close to the beach and close to town. We are so happy to have stayed here. Marylin was very accommodating and very helpful when it came to rescheduling due to bad weather. Absolutely great value and would recommend!
Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed our time at Marilyn's place. It is really close to the beach, which is perfect. Close to eateries. Place was clean and easy to use. Marilyn was very responsive and provided some great insights into the surrounding area. Location to the beach was great. A low traffic beach with great views and a chill atmosphere. Parking there at the beach if you need to use it. Remember, there is one portable bathroom there that isn't always cleaned. Be aware of that. They have a small convenience store at the beach located in the hotel. Two restaurants there as well. If you are looking to stay at the beach, this is the place to stay. The beach is a hidden gem.

She provided us with tons of local hints and tips. It was clear that she wanted us to have a successful trip to Maui. The location is perfectly situated with lots of great beaches and food options a short distance away.
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn's place was one of the best parts of our vacation! Her home is beautiful and very comfortable with all of the amenities you need. It is in a great location just a few minutes from the beach. Our favourite part of staying at Marilyn's was enjoying coffee and breakfast on the lanai in the mornings, listening to the birds and enjoying the private view. She is extremely prompt at returning messages and staying in communication which is very helpful! She also offered many great suggestions of places to eat, visit, and explore which made our daily planning much easier. We highly recommend Marilyn as an Air bnb host!!
Jun 27, 2019Nice place, more spacious than we expected. Great location. Exceeded our expectations. Would happily return - actually we hope to. (Stayed with my mother for 5 nights). Marilyn is a very responsive and attentive host, we felt most welcome. Practical info: We arrived late in the evening and were a little confused by the darkness. The sign with the name of the complex was very hard to see because of the lack of lightening. So look out for it if you arrive in the dark hours. The sleeping couch in the living room is ok as well as the bed. Laundry machine outside takes 6 quarter-coins, probably heats up to 60 degrees celcius / 140 degrees fahrenheit max. We used the kitchen to prepare a few smaller meals. A very nice a not very crowded beach located a few min.s walk away. Also other nice beaches nearby. Other locations in Kihei easily reachable by car.
Jun 27, 2019Marilyn’s apartment is amazingly well equipped especially as regards kitchen equipment. We actually ended up cooking there 3 nights out of four. It is very spacious inside and has a lovely patio for breakfast or drinks. It is perfectly located for a lovely beach and for shops and restaurants (although both Marilyn and ourselves recommend hiring a car). Marilyn was very helpful long before we arrived in providing information about our stay all of which was really useful. We highly recommend this apartment.
