The area is extremely safe with five 24 hour doorman buildings on the block. Only a seven minute walk to the metro / subway and 2 blocks from the United Nations. Located at the crossroads of some of NYC's finest and most convenient neighborhoods including Turtle Bay, Beekman, Sutton and Midtown East. Prime location, safe and accessible to everything. In walking distance, you will find some of the finest restaurants and shopping in NYC. The ease of access to Broadway Shows and Times Square just across town makes this unit a wonderful starting and ending point for any holiday or business trip. Whole Foods is just 7 blocks away and 2 local supermarkets are within 2 blocks. The East River Promenade is 1 block away, having one of the city's best dog runs, water views and running paths. Evan & Maria were great. Their studio apartment had been recently renovated so everything was new and fresh. The location was fantastic and so was the service. I would definitely stay here again and I suggest that you stay here too.

Jun 27, 2019Great place, and Evan and Maria were very welcoming. This was my first Airbnb rental and I didn't know what to expect but I will be back. I came to NY for 2 weeks of work and found that I prefer the privacy and the availability of a small kitchen over a hotel any day. The studio is within a minute of several restaurants and a well-stocked small supermarket, and in walking distance of major tourist attractions.

Although it was a tiny bit smaller than I expected, the apartment is very thoughtfully arranged with plenty of storage space. I stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks and never felt cramped. In fact I hated to leave! This lovely apartment is located in a very convenient neighborhood, and I'm certain I will return. Thanks for a great stay!

My first time in New York was great, and I would recommend this location to anybody here a stay. They are a very nice couple and will give you great advice on where to go in the city.

Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay at Evan and Maria's chic home in Midtown! It was our first time in New York and enjoyed that it was central to so many things. The home is extremely well thought out as well. I liked how they maximized the entire space! And Evan was extremely helpful and accommodating! He responded back to all my messages promptly with very clear communication. I would highly recommend staying here again for our next NY visit!
Jul 27, 2019Let me start by stating that it was my family's first time in the Big Apple and also our first time using AIRBNB so we have no idea what to expect when we arrive. Before I started with the inside of the apartment, like any property the most important is location, location and location. Evan & Maria's apartment is located at the heart of Manhattan. It is a walking distance to the Rockefeller Plaza and also to Times Square. There are several restaurants near the apartment and a deli just around the corner to get anything you wanted. Okay, now we begin with the apartment. It is very beautiful. Not only you can get anything you wanted but also you can tell the owner put a lot of their heart in to it. It is beautifully decorated and also very clean. On a personal note, we have the booking wrong, so we have to checked out a day earlier than we intended to. Evan and Maria were very nice and courteous about it. He texted us to let us know that we have to check out and patiently await our arrival, since we're on a ferry to Liberty Island, and help us find a hotel to move. All and all it was a great experience even with the moving around and one thing for sure, if I ever in NY I will most definitely try to book Even and Maria super homey apartment. Jun 27, 2019Evan and Maria were accommodating with my check in and check out. They were clear with their instructions and welcoming. The apt. had a bottle of wine and chocolates which we appreciated! We had a chance to meet Maria and she gave us wonderful food recommendations!! Thank you Maria for telling us to call in our bagel order vs. waiting in line! The actual apt. is well decorated and very functional. We were very comfortable. Great location and lovely hosts!
Jun 27, 2019We had the good fortune to stay in this amazing apartment for 4 nights while vacationing in the city for our 25th wedding anniversary. The apartment is just as it appears in the photos: impeccably clean, modern, updated and cozy. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and provided a restful nights sleep after long days exploring the city. Our adult daughter slept on the futon, and she was in heaven! There were extra pillows, sheets and a comforter in the closet, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that she was more comfortable here than in the hotel room we stayed at during our first half of our trip. The apartment had everything we needed: dishes, Keurig coffee and coffee maker (my #1 priority!), iron, hair dryer and much, much more! There was a fantastic bottle of Pinot Noir that I thoroughly enjoyed and a jar full of Hershey's kisses (which we ate entirely too many of)! Evan and Maria thought of everything; there is even an iPhone charger to use! For NYC, it was very quiet and peaceful, which came as a pleasant and unexpected surprise to us. The location can't be beat, close to great restaurants, parks, & subways. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but let me end by saying that this apartment is so great that I want to live in it! In fact, our daughter hopes to relocate to the city soon, and she took note of just how well Evan and Maria utilized the space and all the most wonderful details. Well done. Bravo!!!

The apartment is ideally located for visiting the Big Apple. It is very well equipped, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and most importantly the apartment is very clean. We were within walking distance to Time Square, Fifth Avenue, Broadway and there was a little supermarket close by too. The hosts were super accommodating allowing us on short notice to check out later, and sorting out any problems or queries we had straight away. Loved our stay in New York. Would recommend this place and the city to everyone.

Evan and Maria were available all the time, and it was possible to store our luggages because we are arrived before 3pm. I would recommend this apartment to visit New York. El colchón y los cojines muy cómodos. Bien ubicado y próximo a metros. Al disponer de calefacción central, nos lo encontramos caliente cada día al llegar, lo que se agradece cuando viajas con niños.

Grocery was around the corner, restaurants were just steps away and convenience around town was great. The hosts were kind, responsive and made our visit very comfortable. The accommodations were very cozy. We would definitely return. They are also Foodies so ask them to hook you up!

There's also a good amount to do within the area, including restaurants and pubs. Evan and Maria are also amazing hosts who are great with communication and make sure that your stay is perfect.
Jun 27, 2019AMAZING!!! Truly one of my fav airbnb experiences. I had the pleasure of meeting Evan in person after I was graciously allowed to check in early. This cozy space was nicely decorated, clean, and SO comfortable. The bedding was insanely soft. Not to mention full of thoughtful extras such as chocolate and a bottle of wine :) The location is also prime -- I know my way around NYC but for anyone who doesn't I'd highly recommend staying here, you're quite central and it's very easy to get around. I cannot say enough good things! Absolutely zero complaints. I hope to return!!

There are lots of restaurants nearby and transport to other parts of the city is easy. Communication with Evan was responsive and efficient and the check-in and out could not be any smoother. Highly recommended.

The upscale residential neighborhood is gorgeous with enough restaurants/grocery/bars to be convenient, but also a nice break from the crowds of Times Square, Fifth Ave, etc. Great public transit nearby and a quick walk or subway to the main sights. Maria & Evan's place is newly renovated and super clean with high-end finishes. It feels like a boutique hotel with charming touches for your comfort and while a studio - is very adequate for 1-2 persons. There are zero personal items of the hosts and plenty of storage so you're not jamming your things in with their winter coats! #beenthere Communication was fast and smart and this is one of my fave Airbnb stays ever. Please don't book when I want to come back!!

Jun 27, 2019Evan and Maria are the most responsive hosts we had so far! Sometimes in seconds, always really quick.... In between they kept in touch and helped us with every question that occurred. Evan was very generous with the checkout: oour flight was at 11 p.m. and we could stay till evening for there was no booking for that day. So we felt absolutely good. The Appartement itself is REALLY good. New, nice and clean. For Europeans: A studio is a one room flat. Ideal for two persons, but you COULD cramp in more people. Kitchen is small but convenient. Everything you need is there. The whole process of checking in is really easy and 24h service is provided through a doorman. So arriving at night should be possible. The flat is two flights up and no elevator. The surrounding area feels safe at night. Metro is 700 m. away, the next grocery at the corner. Here you will find a really good choice of food and stuff.We liked this place a lot and felt very much at home. So we highly recommend it.

We were 4 girls and had a great time with cooking and chilling in the flat after 12 hours walking in nyc. We came "home" in evan and marias flat! So it is a very, very nice and real nyc appartment that make your stay perfect!

It was so nice to have a kitchen, as we made breakfasts every morning. Evan checked in with us often, and was very hospitable. A small mixup with the key at the beginning, but it was quickly solved. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to NYC!

Jun 27, 2019Very nice apartment with hotel-like amenities, including strong WiFi. Evan was incredibly responsive to booking and check-in/check-out questions. Apt. is on 3d floor so you have to use stairs as there isn't an elevator. It wasn't a problem for me, but it might not be to the liking of some. Great mid-town location was perfect for business travel. I will definitely be back!
Jun 27, 2019Wonderful choice for me and my three friends who wanted somewhere to stay for our first trip to New York! The place is amazingly well equipped (kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, extra bedding, nice TV with Netflix, even a jar of Hershey's kisses on the table). We loved the decorations especially! Check in and check out was flawless with good communication over text and email. We had a late flight and the hosts were above and beyond accommodating with letting us store our luggage downstairs so we didn't have to lug them around during or last day. The neighborhood is very nice and pleasantly quiet, which is a rare find in the city. We got around fine the whole week with our subway card and walking. Will definitely make sure to look at this place again if we come back to New York. Don't forget to sign the visitors book if you decide to book!

As Evan and Maria told us before, it might be a bit small for four person, we would agree on that, for two or three it is perfect, but for us four it worked also. The appartement is located in a very quiet and safe area. Thank you very much. We would definitly recommand your place!

Jun 27, 2019The apartment is perfect for couples. Maybe a bit tight for more than that. Evan & Maria are the perfect hosts. Prompt, helpful and very conscientious in providing a great stay. Very sweet to find a lovely bottle of red wine waiting for us! The bathroom is beautifully updated with a huge shower, wee sink and a toilet you kind of have to sit sideways on LOL. Spotlessly clean!! All you need in a kitchen and again spotlessly clean. The bed is ultra comfy and we slept soundly until 7am everyday when the neighbor would honk his nose in the shower (like three times, every morning, like clockwork) luckily we were up and out everyday early so it made us giggle. Walls are thin in NYC! The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the East River and great eateries and bars on 1st and 2nd. Quiet residential road. We would definitely book this again!

Jun 27, 2019We loved staying in Evan and Maria's place! Definitely worth 5 stars in every category. Our favorite thing was the location. We walked almost everywhere. It was very convenient to mid town activities including Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Central Park (south). There were so many restaurants in the neighborhood that you cannot try them all. Evan had lots of good suggestions to help us choose. We liked the pizza place on the corner, the Ideal Cheese Shop and the local grocery store. The Citibikes also worked well on dedicated bike lanes going north and south along 1st and 2nd ave right by the apartment, along the Hudson and the East River, and in Central Park. There is a bike shop across the street if you need a helmet. The studio apartment is very well maintained. It looked just like the pictures. It was comfortable for all 3 of us; we stayed 6 nights. Note, the arrival instructions only come the day before you arrive. They were clear, it was very easy find, and flexible in terms of timing.

The decoration is absolutely top-notch and you feel like you are in a nice, modern hotel but with out the fuss of a hotel experience. The location of this apartment is fantastic and we were able to walk just about anywhere we wanted to. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The location is great, close to the metro, a supermarket zround the corner and a very beatifull and quite area. An excellent choice for a couple in New York. Jun 27, 2019Incredible use of small space. Charming, comfortable, quiet. Great location, near subways and buses. We also walked back and forth from east side to Theater District several times with no problem. If you’re looking to prepare meals from scratch, the kitchen is really not stocked with enough cookware. But there’s a big microwave and plenty of dishware for simple meals or heating up meals you bring in. Bed was comfortable for the 4 nights we were there. AC and fan kept us cool. Warning...if you’re large or tall, you might find the bathroom toilet and sink space tight, but the shower is really big and nice. We managed to get suitcases up the 2 short flights of stairs and going down and up without them was not a problem. Lobby is a bit dark and not particularly clean, but Evan & Maria’s studio is a little oasis and very tastefully furnished. Nice big TV. They responded very quickly to any questions we had. Check in procedure was easy, even for us first-time Airbnb-ers.

Jun 27, 2019Let me just say......I very rarely write reviews but you need to know that this is a great apartment. I’ve just got back to the UK. Location. 10/10. Less than 10 minute walk to subway. A choice of 2 stations and one is the E line that takes to to/from JFK. Quiet block considering that it is a central location. We walked to Grand Central in about 20 minutes. Cleanliness. I’ll mark it down by half a point due to lipstick marked glasses nd dirty coffee cups. No big deal, but others might find it rather unpleasant. Other than that it was IMMACULATE. The bed is super comfy. Better than my bed at home that has a £2000 memory foam mattress on it ! Superb. Check in. A slight issue when Maria thought we were 2 days early but all was good in the end. Didn’t meet Evan or Maria. Collected the keys from the doorman at their apartment block next door. He was a bit stern but no problem. He allowed us to store our cases in a small storeroom. Good shower. Point of note. This is a studio apartment. The bed is in the lounge. You also have a sofa and a small table with chairs and a coffee table. Small kitchenette but we only used the coffee maker and put some milk in fridge. You couldn’t really make a meal there as it’s quite small but who goes to New York to cook ??!!?? There are about 18 steps from the street to the apartment front door so if you’re elderly or have bid heavy suitcases you might struggle. We had a great time in New York. This was a fantastic apartment that met all our needs.

Jun 27, 2019The location is perfect. It's a quiet block and you can easily walk from the apartment to many sights. The apartment is a bit small for 4 adults but it'll do if you are sightseeing most of the day. Evan replied very quickly to our questions, and check in was very easy and comfortable

Jun 27, 2019This place is the best! Perfect location and perfect amenities. I would stay there forever if I could. We had two daughters with us and while it was tight, no more so than any hotel room in nyc plus having access to kitchen was essential.

Jun 27, 2019Evan & Maria have a fab rental, clean, stylish and the perfect base to have while we discovered New York for the first time! While we were out exploring all day and most of the night it was great to know we had the apartment to return to over a hotel as it was our own private, comfortable space where we could unwind and relax. Initially we used uber to get around but then once we figured out the streets we chose to get the subway or walk it was alot easier tjan a taxi, cheaper and with a good location, everything was easy to get to! Whilst we didnt need Evan and Maria during our stay we always knew they would be on hand to help us if needed, check in and out was quick and easy and they were only a phonecall or message away! If returning to New York again we would definately choose to stay in this apartment and recommend to friends! Some personal recommendations we had would be; 230 fifth avenue roof top bar, ellens stardust diner for breakfast, the comedy cellar for a stand up show and emilys close by to the venue for the best burger I've ever had, red rooster for a gospel brunch, chelsea market, the rockettes christmas show, brooklyn bridge and then eating at Grimaldis the other side and then the black tap for the most indulgent milkshake I've ever had!

Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed our stay at Evan and Maria’s place over the New Years period. The place was very clean and organised with everything we needed inside. I loved having a hairdryer and hair straightener to use after travelling for a few weeks!! Their communication was excellent as they responded to all messages promptly and provided some good suggestions of places to visit. As we were staying during the cold snap we did find that the studio apartment was a bit chilly. Once contacting Evan and Maria they explained how to turn the old style heater on. It was easy to follow the instructions however we did find that the heater was quite loud and sounded like a steam machine. If we had the heater on at the same time as the tv it was quite hard to hear what was happening on the tv. Other than the noise of this heater, it did work quickly to heat up the studio apartment. Overall we had a great time visiting New York and would stay here again, preferably in summer as we are not used to this kind of cold weather in Australia! Thanks for having us :)
Jun 27, 2019The studio was comfortable and well located. The subway entrance is close and there are many restaurants around the apartment. The place was clean and Evan and Maria offered help and recommendations about anything we asked. I would say It is a good place to stay!

Jun 27, 2019Evan and Maria’s place is wonderful. An amazing value in New York with everything you need, down to the bottle opener, power converters, hair dryer and matches for the lovely candles. They also had a bottle of wine and some Hershey kisses waiting for us, which was a beautiful touch. I had to use the WiFi for work and was able to seamlessly get a few things done while on vacation. Great for an all-purpose stay and in a great location close to Murray Hill/Grand Central. Check in was super easy and baggage storage came in handy on the last day since we had time between checkout and our bus home. Overall, fantastic!

Jun 27, 2019A mi parecer la mejor opción para alojarse en Nueva York para 2 o 3 personas, el departamento esta perfectamente bien ubicado, completamente amueblado y no le falta nada, es un piso por escalera pero en ningún momento genera una incomodidad, Evan & Maria son excelentes anfitriones, el departamento estaba listo 3 horas antes del ingreso lo que hizo super facil la llegada ya que no tuvimos que estar esperando en la calle con las valijas (aunque Evan & Maria ofrecieron quedarse con las maletas hasta hacerse el horario de ingreso pero no fue necesario), una opción la cual no tiene ni desperdicio ni van a encontrarle una contra.
Jun 27, 2019Loved our stay at Evan & Maria’s place! Great location, within walking distance to trains and great eats (The Smith!!!). They even left a complimentary vino bottle & voucher to a nearby restaurant and bar. They were always quick to respond & went further to accommodate our luggage we hoped to leave in storage for a few hours. There’s a box under the coffee table with guides and great info for exploring the city. Definitely use em!! As a resident of Manhattan the past 5 years, I was pleasantly surprised at how up to date their guides were. Thanks Evan & Maria for making my boyfriend’s NYC trip a great one!! Have been recommending to all our friends & family already:)

Fabulous communication with the hosts who helped us with planning restaurants etc. The hosts had wine, chocolates & coffee pods waiting for us :) We had an EXCELLENT stay & will definitely return.
Jun 27, 2019Clean, modern studio close to some GREAT restaurants. The three of us were very comfortable. Not too far from the subway and about a half hour walk to Times Square. Windows faced the building next door, but we were out exploring during the day, so it didn’t bother us. Evan and Maria responded to emails promptly and we enjoyed the sweet little extras!

The neighborhood felt safe and was a short walking distance (a block!) to a 24-hour grocery store, a coffee shop, and great restaurants. Check-in was really easy and Evan and Maria were in touch the entire time to make sure the process went smoothly. The apartment is only two flights up and was sparkling clean when I arrived. The apartment exceeded my expectations- the space was nicely decorated, the bed felt new and was extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the shower had great pressure and hot water, and the building/surrounding area was peaceful and quiet after dark. It was a great place to come home to after my conference meetings and visiting the city. I can't think of a single drawback except that the apartment doesn't get a lot of natural light and the space around the toilet would be tight for someone six feet tall (but these things didn't affect me at all). I've stayed in NYC a few times now and this was one of the most easiest and relaxing experiences thanks to this great airbnb. I would highly recommend Evan and Maria's place and would love to stay there again!

Excellent location with a wide choice of restaurants in the immediate vicinity and convenient to a supermarket on 2nd Ave. Easy walk to subway and the heart of Manhattan. The box of maps and travel hints was a welcome bonus to help get around the fabulous city.

The neighbourhood was safe and surprisingly quiet considering it’s central location. It’s within walking distance of a lot of tourist attractions and a subway station. The box of maps under the coffee table came in very handy too! Evan was lovely and quick to respond to any messages. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our first trip to NYC. I would highly recommend this place.

Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, we walked back from Times Square a few times and it was easy and felt safe all the time. Their place is just like the pictures. The bed is super comfy as well as the sofa bed. Soft sheets. Little cute kitchen if you want to make something quick before you leave. Spacious shower. Over all, it was perfect. Thank you Evan and Maria!!

We stayed for 1 week and couldn’t get enough of our apartment and the comfort we felt coming back home to this space after busy days spent taking in Manhattan. The apartment had the feel of luxury with super soft bedding and towels, mod cons and a lovely bottle of wine and Chocolates to welcome you. The location is ideal, east 49th street, only a short walk to the Rockefeller and Times Square and subway nearby means nothing feels inaccessible from your room. Before travelling to New York we considered whether a hotel would suit us better but having stayed here no hotel in this price range would match the standard we received. Thank you again to Evan and Maria for a wonderful first visit to New York!

Jun 27, 2019Evan and Maria were the perfect hosts. They are extremely friendly, helpful and quick to reply to queries. We especially appreciated their flexibility and bag storage as we had inconveniently timed flights. The actual apartment was well located, clean, modern and beautifully furnished. It also had every amenity you could think of. There were things like extra towels, napkins, an ironing board, a bag of ice in the freezer and so many more that you wouldn't typically be provided but were so handy to have. As I was travelling with a friend, we made use of the sofa bed as well. This was very comfortable (although a little squeaky!) and allowed us our own space within the apartment over our 2 week stay. The area was quiet and safe with plenty of restaurants and the subway nearby. The Smith was a favourite just around the corner! Our entire stay was a joy and could not have been easier, we recommend staying here highly.

A pesar de ser un departamento chico, contaba con todo lo necesario para la estadía y muy bien ambientado. Muy limpio y contábamos con los accesorios para poder mantenerlo limpio, lo cual es muy importante para nosotros. La atención de Evan y Maria inmejorables. Definitivamente volveríamos.

Abbiamo avuto qualche problema con il riscaldamento (la prima notte era caldissimo mentre le sere seguenti abbiamo avuto un po' freddo) ma Evan ci ha informato tempestivamente che purtroppo si trattava di un problema di tutto l'edificio e stavano cercando di risolverlo. l'appartamento è in una posizione strategica per visitare la Midtown. A pochi minuti di cammino dalla 5th Av., Rockfeller center, MoMA e Central Park. Consiglio l'appartamento al massimo per due persone visto che si tratta di un monolocale.

Lots of really good restaurants and shops around which was convenient if you needed something close by. Evan was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Jun 27, 2019We really like this place. Well located, it is not too close to the metro stations, but the walk is a pleasure. We went to almost all the sights on foot. It is a single place, small but comfortably accommodates a couple with 1 or 2 children. There are a lot of Supermarkets close . Comfortable bed, good bedding, good shower, heating, wifi, TV. Evan and Maria were extremely attentive and promptly responded to our contacts. We certainly recommend this appartment.

Jun 27, 2019At the risk of being overly effusive, Evan and Maria’s place was exactly as described and more. It’s ideally located in an attractive, vibrant-and somehow at the same time-quiet neighborhood, in proximity to transportation, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, museums, theatre, and cultural attractions of every sort. The unit itself is like a luxurious little Midtown pied-à-terre. It has a well appointed stainless steel kitchen, full sitting area, comfortable bed, dedicated work space, and the shower in the bath is nearly a religious experience. The building is quiet, and the schlep is only two flights up. Evan was efficient, prompt, and even warm in his communication. Our stay there allowed us to focus on the experiences we value most during our trip to NYC.
