Shangri’La is a Seaside Retreat in the Natural Setting of a Private Lagoon on a Tropical Island. The Gated Compound is comprised of five Bali-Style structures in the Open Environment of Nature. Thousands of Tropical Fish reside in the Private, 300-foot Lagoon and there is an abundance of Wildlife in the area. Access to the Pacific Ocean is just outside the Compound and less than a one-minute walk. The average temperature at Shangri’La is 75º day and night throughout the year. Shangri'La is 8 miles from the Historic 'Old Hawaii' town of Pahoa and there are no stores or services closer to the property. A rental car is recommended and can easily be rented at the Hilo airport which is a 35 minute drive from Shangri'La.
