This 2 bedroom 2 bath, ocean-view, Maui vacation home is perfect for a family vacations! The master bedroom is downstairs with a brand new king bed and there are two full sized beds in the loft bedroom upstairs in addition to full bath. Both baths have walk-in showers w/ etched glass. Remodeled kitchen with state of the art appliances and granite counter tops. The living room has a plasma TV and DVD player. The master bedroom also has a flat screen TV. We offer free Wi-Fi and free parking for one car (no additional parking is available). The pool is the perfect place to relax and is just steps from the ocean. Near the pool is a BBQ area where you can cook while you listen to waves come crashing in. Conveniently located to a beach park, organic super market, restaurants, coffee shop and Farmer's Market. Neighborhood Overview
The complex is located right on the beach and next door to a county park, which is great for families traveling with children. The community is called Honokowai and is located south of Ka'anapali and north of Kapalua. The neighborhood is a mixture of condominium complexes and residential single-family homes. The complex is about 5 miles north of the town of Lahaina, a 50 minute drive from Kahului Airport. Across the street there is there is a grocery store, a weekly farmers market, a deli and the well-known Maui roasted coffee shop "Bad Ass Coffee".

In addition to the rental fee, Hawaii State mandated 13.42% GET & TA tax will be collected separately through Airbnb’s resolution center. At the time of booking, I will provide you with the amount of tax that will be requested. I will send a request to collect the tax 7 days prior to your arrival. If the tax is not paid within 24 hours of sending the request, I reserve the right to cancel the reservation without a refund as it will be difficult to re-book the unit on such short notice. Unfortunately, Airbnb does not have a feature to calculate and add the tax in automatically. The tax will be assessed on the total nightly rental cost not including the cleaning and services fees.
Transit
Maui has a public transit system that stops right next door at Honokowai Beach Park; it is convenient for all local travel within West Maui. However, to make the most of your time here, I highly, highly recommend renting a car. There are several taxi companies that service the West Maui Area. Uber and Lyft are also becoming more popular but are not as readily available as they are in larger metropolitan areas. To the best of my knowledge, Lyft and Uber are not permitted to pick up at Kahalui Airport at this time (the rules might have changed so you'll want to look into this if you are considering this option).

Jun 27, 2019A great value for the money. This unit was nearly perfect for us, in consideration that we were there for the atmosphere, not a fancy hotel experience. The view of course is unbeatable. If this unit were any closer to the ocean, it would have fish in it. It's in a smaller complex, with nobody above you. The neighborhood is okay; appeared to be safe, and there are some eating/shopping options close by, but most restaurants and shops you may want to go to are a little further afield, but not more than a 3-5 minute drive (Kaanapali itself is about 10 minutes away, which is a good thing in my opinion). The road the complex is on is fairly busy, but not too noisy (most cars are going pretty slow here), see more below. The complex itself is pretty old but appeared to be very well-maintained. There's a small beach adjacent to the complex that's okay for recreational bathing but not a destination in itself. The overall vibe was very private and intimate; a very friendly atmosphere. The pool was a huge added bonus for us; the kids wanted to use it practically every day. Honokowai Park was on the other side of the complex; we didn't go here, but the recon I did on a walk gave me the impression that the park was okay but nothing to write home about. The overall noise level here was very minimal; no loud guests or screaming kids. There is some road noise in the front bedroom, and although I wasn't in that bedroom, it wouldn't have bugged me, and I'm a light sleeper. The baths were very nice and almost resort-y; overall, they were very clean although the grout could use a good cleaning, just saying. The kitchen was more than adequate for our needs, and had quite a bit of storage space. We also used the barbecues on premise a couple of times; they're impeccably maintained. The only thing that is a drawback to this place in my opinion is that the loft can get quite stuffy, even with the fans going full blast. We were there in August, and several nights up there were fine, some others were uncomfortable, and there was 2 nights where it was extremely hard to sleep up there. So overall, this place is perfect if you value a tranquil atmosphere with a killer view, in a nice unit in a pleasant complex, at a fair price. If you have enough guests to where you have to utilize the loft, the weather may be a roll of the dice as to how comfortable it is.
Jun 27, 2019Angelica's apartment is excellent and the view is out of the world. Centrally located to almost everything from farmers market right across the street to malls to dining options to beaches to hikes to water sports. My kids 2 and 5 had a blast watching turtles from the patio and did not want to come back. I cooked many meals and enjoyed our dinners watching the sun set. The only thing i wish is this place had an AC coz the afternoons were very warm and the apartment felt like an oven. Nights get cooler though. We will be definitely going back again. Angelica is an amazing host and she was very prompt in answering all my questions. Thank you for having us stay in your gorgeous apartment.
Jun 27, 2019Angelica responded quick and was very helpful whenever I had any questions about the stay. The description is accurate. It was a great place to stay with useful amenities that made the stay better. Having the beach so close made a trip to the beach hassle free. The balcony served as the perfect spot to catch the sunset. Location of the apt was great. It was walking distance to restaurants and stores. The drive to Lahaina and Kaanapali was easy. There is also a park around the complex that looked very nice with shaded areas. Overall, it was a very good stay and space for a family.
Jun 27, 2019Made a last minute decision to stay here the day before we arrived which can always be risky when you don't have time to research but we had a great time. Good location to stay on the west side. Definitely a great value for the price. Hard to get a view like this without paying an arm and leg. No AC but it is pretty windy on Maui and you get good air flow through the unit. Might be too hot for some especially if they are sleeping in the loft. Local health food grocery store is across the street along with a Boss frogs to rent paddle boards, bikes and snorkeling equipment. Many of the best beaches and snorkeling as well as downtown Lahaina within 10-15 minute drive.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed at this condo for 5 days in early October 2016 and had a great time! So close to all the best snorkelling spots and not too far from restaurants, etc in Lahaina. Farmers market (more of an organic and gluten free market) and coffee shop are a 2 minute walk and there is a nice little beach next to the pool. From the balcony we watched sea turtles feeding on the rocks and beautiful sunsets. Loved this Air BnB!
Jun 27, 2019Skøn bolig lige i vandkanten. Dejlig badestrand, hvor også skildpadder nyder at tumle sig. Lejligheden er ren og pæn og har stort set alt, hvad man har behov for. Der bliver lidt trangt, hvis man er mere end 4 Pers., men det gik OK for os at være 5. Vi brugte terrassen hele tiden. Derfra er der den flotteste udsigt. Området blev passet fint, og lækker pool hører til komplekset. Roligt kvarter med gode indkøbsmuligheder.

Jun 27, 2019Loved this place! Perfect for a family of 3-4. The view does not disappoint at all and the complex is fastidiously maintained. The beach next door is perfect for little people playing in the sand and/or breakers. We saw turtles in the water everyday and one came up to rest on the beach the last day! The loft gets warm and we were there in November. I can't imagine August. We would absolutely go back!

Jun 27, 2019I really appreciated how easy it was to contact Angelica and how quickly she responded. The condo was exactly as listed, if not, better! Location was great, a little quieter and less busy. It was wonderful falling asleep to the rolling waves every night! We could see turtle and whales spouting from our Lanai! Would definitely suggest her place to anyone that wants to have a clean, Comfortable and beautiful place to stay in maui!

Jun 27, 2019Angelica's place was great. As others have noted, there is no air conditioning; however, with the trade winds and ceiling fans the condo stayed a nice temperature. There is a farmer's market, coffee shop, and lunch places a few blacks away. The best part was the small beach just out back. It was perfect to spend a day at or visit after driving around the island. Everyday that we were at this beach we saw turtles swim right next to us!
Jun 27, 2019The location was incredible...small private beach, amazing sunsets, private pool and walking distance to a few stores/restaurants. On the down side, the master bedroom is close to the street, so there is road noise from the occasional bus and a steady flow of traffic. There is no AC, so the condo can get warm during the day, but it cools off at night. The blinds in the master bedroom don't close all the way, so morning sun floods the room making you an early riser...all the better to get your day on Maui started. Overall, we had a great stay and would consider HaleKai again!

Close to the nearby Honokowai park/beach (with resident turtles!), the grocery stores, great spots for restaurants and nightlife within ten minutes. The view from the balcony is fantastic. The unit stayed cool during the nights and mornings but did get hot in the afternoon given there is no A/C and the unit faces west. I recommend using the fans to help with the circulation and also keeping the windows and shutters open for cross-ventilation. Would highly recommend the property!
Jun 27, 2019Beautiful location - it as nice having a pool too for those of us that didn't get in the ocean. Liked being able to walk to shops, grocery and small restaurants. The snorkeling was really fun up and down the coastal area. We saw lots of turtles and other sea life.

Jun 27, 2019Great place, very clean and modern, has everything in the kitchen and more so don't bring anything. Grocery stores and other amenities close by. Coin Laundry on site as well. Literally, steps to the ocean we didn't have to drive anywhere. Beds, linen, towels all very clean. It was perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. We had a blast!
Jun 27, 2019Amazing place, we were there for almost a month, there were turtles that came to rest on the beach some nights. I saw dolphins and whales from the lanai, the grounds are very well maintained. The beds were comfortable. We were there with our 3 small children and it was great having the park to one side and a small beach to the other side.

Jun 27, 2019Absolutely amazing condo ! It was true to its photos, even better! Prefect for my husband and myself ! It absolutely wasn’t a problem not having AC! The breeze was perfect every day ! It had everything we could have possibly needed and wanted ! We saw so many turtles everywhere! It was my favorite part, such amazing creatures swimming out front , and resting on the beach out front ! The pool was so nice . The sunsets were just breathtaking every single night ! It’s ideal for a ‘middle aged’ couple ! Most people visiting were quite respectful, the locals were so welcoming, we had a fun get together by the pool one night ! We truly hope to come back ! Jun 27, 2019First of all we enjoyed our time at Angelica's Place very much. We loved the location and meeting fellow vacationers at the pool and BBQ. My recommendation would be to make sure you understand the condo does not have air conditioning but cools off nicely if you open the windows and turn on the fans. We slept with the windows open the entire time we were there and like one other reviewer mentioned you can hear the sounds of the ocean, birds whistling and light street traffic that acts as white noise but I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Also the washer/dryer is down stairs (not inside the condo). This is a second floor condo so all you have to do is go downstairs and the property has a small pay washer and dryer room. It has a coin machine and you can buy detergent as well. The other thing I would recommend if you are trying to stay frugal is to purchase all your supplies at Costco after you leave the airport. We purchased everything except for meat because we figured we could purchase meat for BBQ at the local market but that was a big mistake. The local Markets do not have a good selection of meats and are much more expensive. Plan your meals and get everything at Costco. (Trash bags, baggies, paper plates, red cups, lots of bottled water, sports drinks also came in very handy). I would also recommend bringing or buying a midsize soft cover ice chest to carry around snacks and bottled water. We would freeze four or five bottles of water to use as our ice and load everything around that inside the cooler and came in very handy. I also brought a large Camelback back pack which I loaded with first aid stuff, bug spray, sunscreen, lip balm, neck towels, waterproof camera, sunglasses, hats and a blue tooth speaker and always filled the water bladder. This came in very handy when we hiked the seven pools thru the bamboo forest to the waterfall. Make sure to bring good hiking shoes (not flip flops) It rained on our way back down and was very slippery/muddy so if you don't like to get wet you should consider bringing a small umbrella or light plastic poncho. Like I mentioned Angelica's place is in a great location. The balcony overlooks the pool and ocean. The beach is steps away and turtles are visible from the balcony. We literally saw a turtle everyday we were there. (nine days). The blue tooth speaker came in very handy as well. I would wake my two kids up every morning to the song from Lilo and Stitch called "Hawaiian Roller Coast Ride" and they would wake to big smiles and a great attitude for all the adventures we had while on the island. Have a great time on the island. I would recommend Angelica's place and would love to go back again some...
Jun 27, 2019The view is amazing! So close to the ocean. Sea turtles come to the rocks near the shore of the private beach. The condo is clean and modern, and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed. Highly recommend stopping at Costco for supplies prior to checking in. Close walking distance to a fruit market, coffee shop and snorkeling supply store. The unit is a quick drive to public beaches and shopping. There is no AC, but we were here at the end of June, and the unit was comfortable. The loft is warmer, but there were enough fans to keep the kids cool.

Jun 27, 2019You have to see this place to truly appreciate it! Our family of four just returned from having stayed at this condo. You can't beat the access to the ocean and the pool is equally lovely. The décor here shows the extra care that Angelica has put into the condo - it is very stylish and comfortable. We found other guests and residents to be welcoming and free with local tips for places to eat and see. A number of restaurants and stores (including a full size grocery) are very near by. Short drives will get you to West Maui sites, including several good snorkeling or swimming beaches. The grilling area is clean and well maintained. That coupled with the fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to take meals at the condo. The lanai has great views of the pool and ocean and sunsets here are hard to beat. We even saw a few turtles in the surf. This condo is a little slice of paradise! I highly recommend it!! Also communication with Angelica was very smooth.

Jun 27, 2019The place is nice as well as the location it's an hour from the airport. Once settled if you need a quick bite, cross the street for coffee at Bad Ass Coffee. The Farmers Market Deli in the same location has a big selection of shakes and pickups for your home cooking. Little expensive so try ABC or Walmart stores unless you have a Costco card. If you have Costco buy while in the airport area, it's the nearest one from your stay.

Jun 27, 2019Although the condo wasn’t really located in Lahina, it is a beautiful spot with amazing views. Condominium maintenance crew was quite loud in the mornings but was peaceful the majority of the time. Large kitchen with modern appliances made it extremely easy to cook meals/clean up after. Would love to come back.
Jun 27, 2019Fabulous location ... minutes to Lahaina (go to Aloha Mixed Plate) and Nepali bay (go to Gazebo). Saw whales every day right from our balcony. Very quiet, friendly community. Very clean. Location, location, location!
