Notes
Small convenience store right across from the building. All long weekends are a minimum 3 night stay, all public holidays are charged at the Weekend Tariff and Easter is a minimum 4 night stay. We have a one week minimum stay with any New Year's Eve booking.
Transit
The apartment is a 5 minute walk to Wynyard railway station and then a 3 minute train ride to the city centre. There are also local buses, light rail, Taxi's & Uber available.
Access
There are 1 set of keys available which are picked up via the lock box at the front door so those in your party can come and go easily during your stay. Ground level entry for easy access with suitcases, groceries etc and a lift to the 1st floor.

Standard Terms and Conditions of Temporary Holiday Accommodation: Note: Variances can be agreed on but only by arrangement with the owner in writing. Deposit of 50% non-refundable is required to secure the booking. Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Balance of the rental amount must be received in full 28 days prior to occupancy. If not the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it. Cancellation if caused by the client, money paid is not refundable unless the house is re-let for the entire period. If it a refund is made due to the property being re-let then a $100 cancellation fee will apply. The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. Joanna and Ali's place is nicely located in the CBD and close to anything you need. The home is neatly kept and well presented. My interstate guest enjoyed the stay and any issue that came up was quickly looked after.

Jun 27, 2019Location was excellent and perfect for the places I had to visit during my stay. Apartment was clean and tidy with sufficient amenities. 7 Eleven across the road was convenient and Commonwealth bank on the corner was handy. Couple of small issues but sorted with the Hosts.
Jun 27, 2019A lovely little apartment! Comfy bed and everything that we needed for our stay in Sydney. This isn't flash - staying here is about location, not amenities. Super close (walking distance) to everything you might want to visit. Some slight issues with the shower and a little cramped - this is a place for two people for a couple of days maximum! We didn't meet Joanne and Ali but they were great arranging flexible options for our stay.

Jun 27, 2019The apartment is in a great location. It does not have wifi and as I was spending two week for work it was an inconvenience so do bare this in mind. I tried to contact the hosts about this and did not get a reply from them. After an issue a week later to do with cleanliness Rob their property manager did reply to me and was very kind in offering me a meal for free for the inconvenience and got a cleaner to come in. A nice apartment on the whole which just needs some TLC.
Jun 27, 2019It's a convenient one bedroom apt for one person, if you don't need wifi (which is rare and unbelievable), neither a long and relaxing hot bath (there's prob with hot water, I kept it low to avoid running out of hot water at the end of my shower), nor a quiet sleep in the morning (massive noise in the neighborhood due to tram construction). This apt is all about location in the city.
Jun 27, 2019The place was spacious and comfortable but the best part about it is the location. It's in the center of town, making all the major destinations easily accessible. In addition, Ali and Joanne were very accommodating with our early check in. The amenities, however, were lacking. We were hoping to shower after our long flight but there were no bath towels when we arrived. I texted Ali and the towels were delivered while we were out for lunch. There was only one tube of shampoo and conditioner provided that were clearly taken from hotels. There was a bar of soap for bathing and it had obviously been used before. The previous things I can deal with, but for our 5 night stay for 2 people, there was only one and a half rolls of toilet paper. I texted Ali for toilet paper, shampoo, and soap twice, but received no response. I loved the apartment, but it needs to be better stocked.

Jun 27, 2019Communication with the hosts was great and immediate. The apartment is very centrally located and within walking distance of all galleries, shops etc. Perfect for a couple or two friends happy to share a room.
Jun 27, 2019Great place, central and quiet. The actual building is quite old, but the apartment itself is fine. Internet is provided in the form of a 4G dongle. All the cook wear was very useable. The hot water pressure is low, like some of the other guests have mentioned but overall useable. The location is great, for both business travellers and tourists.

Jun 27, 2019This cozy apartment had everything we needed for our new years holiday in Sydney. All the main touristic spots are literally walking distance (Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Sydney Town Hall, main shopping centres). When we needed to use the train, Wynyard Station was just a couple of blocks away. Savings time and money with this prime location was definitely a bonus. The flat feels bigger than in the pictures. The building feels old but once you get inside the flat everything is well kept. The main bed and the sofa bed were comfy and with white crisp linens. Had plenty bath and face towels. Did not find a problem with the hot water pressure as previously stated (might have been fixed). There are washing and drying machines in perfect working condition. The bedroom has a ceiling fan that was enough to sleep, there were a couple of pretty hot nights outside but we only needed to turn on the aircon for a couple of hours and the entire flat would cool off. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare all meals. Dealing with the host was also a pleasant experience. All the information requested was given in a straightforward manner without delay. Overall, a great experience! Highly recommended
Jun 27, 2019The apartment is nice and perfect for city stays. My disappointment came when my 70yr old parents we kept awake all night from major reconstruction. Bins are also collected at 130am from outside the apartment. We were not told this was happening. My mum recleaned on moving in. The dust on top of units and cupboard and under the bed was terrible. Expect a light clean and sheet change on arrival My parents left 4 nights early and i moved onto my couch. No response when feedback was given after stay. I would recommend the apartment when Sydney tram works is complete in 2018.
Jun 27, 2019My stay got of to a bumpy start as the room had not been prepare for my arrival, I assume there was a communication issue between the cleaner and the owner, but the owners rectified the problems the following day, and also offered $60 to cover a couple of meals for the inconvenience . overall my stay was good and description and pictures where accurate, location was great, 5 mins walk to wynyard station,15 mins to darling harbour & 3mins to woolies. I may stay again and would ask for confirmation on the room been ready before my arrival.

Jun 27, 2019Nous avons passé 4 jours à Sydney, et le séjour dans l'appartement de Joanne et Ali, très bien situé au centre-ville, nous a permis de visiter la ville en nous déplaçant souvent à pieds. L'appartement est confortable et bien équipé, et 3-4 personnes peuvent y séjourner avec plaisir.
Jun 27, 2019You can't beat this location. We stayed for almost a week and walked or took a very convenient train everywhere that we cared to go. The size of the apartment was adequate and comfortable but not terribly large. It was reasonably clean and put together but not luxurious. The hosts were very kind to allow us to check in several hours early and we never actually meet anyone in person as the key was conveniently in a lock box. Overall it was consistent with the description and our expectations. I would recommend this for others particularly given the convenient location.

Jun 27, 2019The apartament is very good. It is very close bars, restaurant and metro station. It is perfect for a couple. The apartment does not receive much sunligh. But this is not a problem. I and my girlfriend recomend the Joanne apartament. Everthing is good.

Jun 27, 2019The apartment was central and nicely set out. The sofa bed is a click clack and not very comfortable. The air con didn't work and therefore the apartment was stuffy as we felt we couldn't safely leave the window open. We would stay again due to the convenience for the city.

Jun 27, 2019This compact apartment is well located in the CBD for walking down to the quay/Opera House/Park. It is a little tired and shabby. It is fine as a base but not so good if you need spend much time there. The windows look out onto the wall of the neighbouring building and the noise from the street and the garbage collectors goes on into the night.

Good for a few nights in city, I stayed for business and it was great with lunge and kitchen for breakfast etc or dinner if you wanted. I ate at local eateries nearby. Easy to book, Great for 1 or 2 travelers, easy entry, secure building . I would stay again. So convenient . Thank u Ali.

Jun 27, 2019Location was great. Perfect to walk to just about all the sights. The unit was small but had all you would require for a shot stay. Having a washing machine and dryer was a plus. My only negative was the oven was dirty and the floor could have done with a good wash.

Jun 27, 2019The location of this apartment is great - close walking distance to Sydney’s main attractions and anything else in the CBD. There is a Woolworth Express right around the corner to stock up on whatever you would like for food, snacks, or sundries. Very convenient. The apartment windows look into an alley where it is noisy early from garbage trucks, vehicles, and other maintenance. The hosts informed us about this. We had issues checking in as the apartment was not cleaned, which got resolved. That said, we never received confirmation from the host or property manager, after specifically inquiring to both, if the bed linens were laundered after the previous guest left or the bed was just made with the same linens. A few comments about the apartment. The mattress is less than acceptable IMO. It is lumpy and springy and we could get a good sleep the 4 nights we stayed. Hard to believe this has not been replaced. So, while the apartment is functional as described, it is in need of TLC and better property management attention. The bath and kitchen amenities seem mostly to be leftovers from other guests and there are just some things worn out such as the shower head that does not stay in place making it difficult to shower. Communication with the host was very responsive during the booking stage but once confirmed and money paid ... and when issues occurred, they were, well let’s just say, less than responsive. Personally, despite the location and premium this apartment should command in the CBD, the value IMO is EXTREMELY low for what they charge when considering all the other factors outlined above and more that I communicated to the hosts directly. I have offered suggestions to the host directly and constructively for them to improve based on above and other details ... however, I have not received a response of course. That said, you will love CBD ... a visit to Baxter’s Inn is a must (you will understand when you finally find it and immerse yourself with the locals for a drink - there is no food). We had amazing dinners at Bistro Papillon (steps from the apartment) and at Bambini. A visit to QVB (Queen Victoria Building), Strand and area is a shopper’s haven and both are a must do. Special mention to the ladies at Cue (a ladies fashion shop ... fine Aussie designs). When (not if) you go to the Opera House, be sure to walk through the Botanical Gardens. Lots to explore and enjoy in Sydney. I sure wish our experience at “Clarence House Apartment” was not the last accommodation image we had on an otherwise impeccable 24 day experience of Australia. Jun 27, 2019The apartment was in a great location and near restaurants, bars, grocery stores and transport. The self check in and check out process was simple. The place was clean and spacious as per the photos. I'd recommend this apartment to anyone and will stay here again.
