This place was amazing Kandy was so quick to respond and so accommodating -even when I was a little needy a couple of times (I needed a wine opener and I had one within the hour) It's a hidden gem and just what we needed to reset life It had every modern luxury while being tucked away in the jungle and right next to the bay Thank you Kandy so much for having us We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

From the moment I entered the property I felt at peace, lots of light, tastefully decorated and clean. The place was very quiet and private, and so was the neighborhood , a short walk takes you to an amazing cliff view of the ocean. The steady breeze at night and the fragrent smell of flowers was great . The beds were high quality and comfortable. I enjoyed getting up in the morning and picking oranges from the trees on the property for some fresh squeezed juice. Our host Kandy was available to help with any needs and made you feel welcome. I would definitely rent this place again on a return trip to Maui .

The cottage is in a beautiful and quiet street , in the north shore of the island . Its for people who want to get away. If you need food and grocery Paia is not too far . (15-20 min) We met our host , and she explain us about the property. That's a beautiful property with verity of trees, and fruits around . In the morning we enjoyed fresh orenge juice directly from the trees . the cottage is very nice and well equipmened . There is everything you need there . Towels, beach chairs , cooler and more . The place was pretty clean. All tough it was kind of hard to reach our host. I text Kandy asking about place to see around, but I got a late response and not much information, In general , the experience was very nice and we all enjoyed it .

We went to Kandy's for our honeymoon and had the worst airbnb experience we have ever had (and we use airbnb a lot). She stopped communicating with us and then tried to lock us out of the house one night when we went back. Thankfully we found an open window, got in, evacuated our belongings immediately and had to pay for a hotel for the rest of the honeymoon. Completely outrageous. Beyond that, the place was disappointing. It smells like mildew and she doesn't have screens on many windows so you're stuck in a mildewy sauna. I would not recommend it and would advise people to be extremely careful with Kandy.

This place was an amazing experience! you're deep in the jungle but still close to Paia. Extremely family-friendly our kids loved it! I will most definitely visit again

Kandy was very accommodating, and provided such a lovely place to stay. She responded quickly if we had questions, and is very much a professional in the world of home away from homes. The house is quiet, cozy, and worked well for a family with teenagers. Thank you Kandy, It was a great trip!

We enjoyed our time at the cottage so much, we didn't want to leave! As Airbnb hosts ourselves, we love to be the 'guests' when we can, and Kandy was a wonderful host. She communicated excellently with us leading up to, during, and after our stay, with quick answers to our questions and suggestions for how to best enjoy the property and surrounding areas. We found both a fresh chicken egg and several avocados to enjoy within moments of our arrival - yum! The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing. We would certainly recommend!

My family loved this 2 bdrm cottage. It's located on an incredibly beautiful piece of land, quiet and away from the hustle--a perfect place to stay when exploring the road to Hana. The place is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. We particularly liked lounging in the screened porch room. It's a little far from town, but sometimes that's necessary to fully unwind! The only thing I would change about our stay is the number of nights.... We should have stayed a week at least!

Our stay at Kandy's place was great! Throughout the course of our vacation she was very helpful. The location is quiet and beautiful. The backyard provides fresh fruit, truly making you feel the island vibe. Our stay consisted of 5 people for 2 weeks; the house had plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Jungle relaxation, just what we needed after a week of hectic ocean front resort land visiting. Fruit everywhere, evening winds cooling breeze, even some nighttime rain tip tapping on the roof. The house is charming, comfortable, and more than enough room for 7 of us. Kandy and her family are lovely, kind, and generous and made us feel like guests, not just visitors. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a respite from the heat and traffic of the oceanfront and easy hop up to road to Hana or upcountry explorations. Oh, and the outdoor shower- bliss under a night sky filled with stars and moonlight.

5 of us stayed here and there was plenty of room. The house is very clean and spacious. We had a vegan Thanksgiving dinner on the huge screened-in porch and one of Kandy's very friendly chickens was our guest of honor! My personal favorite was the outdoor toilet and shower - cleaner than many indoor bathrooms I have used :) I would definitely stay here again.

I have read Mark Twains descriptions of his time in Maui. Guess what my time at this house made me think of those descriptions. A beautiful property with lush vegetation and fruit trees of many kinds which you can partake of. Just down the road is a path that has an absolutely stunning view of the Maui coast with a path to a beautiful rocky beach. The house is comfortable and cool and is a great place to relax and rest after exploration. Every amenity you could want or need is there for you. We enjoyed the barbecue very much and loved that we had the washer and dryer. In short I will attempt to stay here any time I visit Maui this place is an outstanding value. Lastly Kandi is a very responsive host and obviously wants her guests to be impressed, we were, thanks a bunch.

Kandy is a great host. The location is quiet, spacious and equipped with almost everything we need during our stay. The house is located in a peaceful jungle area, with very localized decoration and furniture, it has variety of facilities and cultural props to play with while we stayed there. Kandy is also very responsive and helpful to answer our questions. We'd definitely recommend this place to whoever visit Maui.

Do not stay there!!!! The house is not bad first floor but the secobd bedroom is an attic with a chipped beam and my mother hit her head eneterung it as one side is too low. The host will make you strip the bed and wants money and the gusests to to do zero all the cleaning after. She exaggerated the dishes are dirty as my eldery mother must have forgot to wash afork or two. Crazy many requirements for someone with excellent airbnb re iews and years of use so far. Pay more and get a better host. Greefy lady harassing the guests. The house has some paint chip.issues inside. Very isoleted yet you can see all the neoghbours in the complex.

Great place. Looks better than the photos. Very well designed, very comfortable, cool furniture. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you might need for a great meal. My only issues were the lack of drinkable water provided with the house. I was not aware of this prior. Also a bit buggy, but didn't bother us very much.

We reserved a 4-night stay at the place, but were only allowed to stay for two. The house is advertised as being in bug-friendly Maui, so I expected some bugs. We have them where we live and most everyone does, so no big deal, right? However, when we first arrived we immediately noticed a bunch of wasps in the house. Bug-friendly to me means you’ll probably see some mosquitoes, roaches, or ants, not an infestation of wasps (I estimated close to 40 flying, on walls, or crawling on the floors during our stay). My kids were kids, and having fun counting them. The majority of the wasps were in the upstairs bedroom that we intended to use for our two little kids. We called the host and she sent her husband to vacuum up the wasps. That's all he did. He basically told us it’s to be expected and gave us no apology. He left and we inspected and immediately saw more. Over the next day we complained to her again, and finally to Airbnb. The company agreed that the place was unsuitable and immediately refunded our cleaning fee after seeing pictures of the place. The host responded by booting us out of the rental two days in. We were polite and tried to fix things in a civil manner (the main complaint was really just the wasp infestation), and we didn’t complain about anything else. We weren't prissy babies and don't really care about minor problems. But wasps flying around the rental and in your kids' room can cause some concern. Apparently, the host didn't like our complaint and saw fit to have us vacate and find lodging elsewhere for the next few nights. Imagine staying in a hotel, for example, complaining about a bug problem and having the management kick you out instead of trying to fix the issue. Crazy, right? We agreed, however, leaving the place in good order (cleaned the dishes, took out the trash and recycling, and even folded up used blankets and such). There's no reason to return pettiness with pettiness, I suppose. After that “customer is always wrong” treatment we felt it was fine anyway. Unfortunately, the host refused to refund our remaining 2 days of unused time. We stayed 2 of the 4 days at the host's request and we still got charged for 4 days. After nearly two weeks of no effort on her part to refund us, she is just now saying that we damage her bedding but is providing no details or proof. Anyway, that’s our experience. No aloha in the land of aloha really sucks, but it happens and I can’t be too bothered by it. Here are the pros and cons of the place (fairly, I hope): Pros: *super quiet – out in the middle of the country. Middle of nowhere = nice and quiet. There are tons of big pitbulls as you ride down the 2 mile dirt road to the house, but even those guys...

This cottage was in a quiet neighborhood close to town; secluded enough to relax after a long day of adventures. Beds were comfortable and the house is very cozy and clean. Our host was good about answering any questions we had very promptly. We had a great family vacation.

Having stayed a number of times in the fancy hotels in the tourist areas of Maui before, we were looking for a more authentic perspective of the island. My word did we get just what we needed. This place is what one thinks of as true Hawaii. Being able to walk out the door and pick bananas and other tropical fruit, sitting out on the screened in veranda, listening to the birds and the gentle wind in the trees, and having the most gracious hostess was amazing. Congratulations on a world class experience!

This wonderfull cottage is located in a calm area, surrounded by a lot of green. Kandy is a absolutely friendly host. It was easy to communicate and it was no problem to ask her for help. The day we arrived, we were without electricity, but that was the county's fault and we managed those first hours well. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage!

This place was amazing! If you're looking for a quiet retreat surrounded by nature, this is the place for you. It was very clean, well stocked with the basics in the kitchen, communication was great, easy to find in an off the beaten path, quiet neighborhood. The screened porch did a great job keeping most of the bugs out. Would definitely stay here again!

Located deep into a tree covered neighborhood! Beautiful! The few people we came in connect with were great. The home is beautiful, the area is and very comfy and cozy! Great for friends, lovers, kids, etc. no near grocery stores, 45 minutes or so away so stock before hand. The mini mart has a few necessities but not grocery like. Will definitely return!

Kandy was great and very helpful. It's very easy to stay at this place. It's on the road to Hana. Kandy has everything you could need in Hawaii. There were beach towels and chairs. Awesome stay. Thank you!

This rustic, well equipped cottage is in a secluded, rural area in a jungle shortly into the start of the popular road to Hana. I came with my 13 year-old son, cousin and dad and we absolutely enjoyed our 2-night stay. For us city dwellers, staying in this cottage is like having close contact with nature while still having the convenience of a modern house. Our host Kandy was very helpful and attentive in answering all our questions about the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here for a week or recommend my friends to do so.

Kandy's place outside of Paia is exactly as described, yet even so, delightfully surprised us. Every detail was charming and one could sense she had gone to a lot of effort to make her place welcoming. After spending time in other parts of Maui, it was a relief to arrive "home" to this seemingly secluded, lush paradise. Most of our time was spent on the deck; the wind blowing through the tropical plants, the occasional rain, all served as a soothing (and at other times exhilarating) backdrop to our activities. Then there are the animals. My children delighted in the tame free range chickens roaming about, as well as the geckos and rabbit. We were able to spend about half an hour with Kandy, who was rushing from one thing to the next, but generously took time to show us around her property and even offered us some of the ripened fruit available. We would have loved to spend more time with her, but our schedules never matched up. Perhaps next time?

This place was an awesome find. We were able to book it with LITTLE notice. We had a great 2 night stay here. The environment was awesome! If you are looking for a quiet get-away with a touch of nature all around, this is the place!

Kandy's place is in the rain forest and not too close to beaches or shopping. It is really beautiful land and there is a nice hike to Haumanu Bay. We knew where the property was located, and it was exactly what we expected, plus! Some places we have stayed in this area are dirty, musty and full of roaches. Kandy's place was clean and cheerful. The yard is full of chickens and one may even leave some eggs for you on the outside dryer! Staying at Kandy's is a great way to immerse yourself in a true hawaiian experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Kandy's place. It's isolated enough to experience the style and living of upcountry Maui but also perfect location for starting trips on Road to Hana, Haleakala summit, Lahaina and west, as well as just cruising into Paia for the day or for supplies. Besides location the cottage itself was perfect for us two parents with two young adult children. House is very much as advertised with everything you need. Outdoor shower is poppin'....and the screened lanai could itself be lived in for days at a time. May sure you plan some downtime during your stay to appreciate the lanai!. Overall excellent experience. Kandy was responsive with all request and offered info and suggestions when requested. Would love to return somedat, and highly recommended overall.

This place is located in a secluded location. If you want a place to just get away from it all – this is what you are looking for. It is just as it is explained in the description. Kandy he is a terrific host. Communication is second to none. Very clean. Beds are very comfortable.

This cottage is very beautiful. In the garden there are many tropical fruit trees. If you are lucky, you can get some bananas and coconuts. The location is convenient to Hana road. However it's a bit far from restaurants and grocery stores. You need to drive about 20 minutes to get there. The cottage is very clean and close to ocean and mountain. There is no air condition in the house. The time we stayed is ok since it's not that hot. We used fans and at night it's cooling down. Kandy is very friendly and responsed issues quickly. Overall we had a wonderful experience staying in this cottage.

What a beautiful place to stay! All of the elements were available for us. The house was clean, spacious, and more than accommodating. My family and I live on Lahaina side, and wanted nothing more than a relaxing environment that offered a different side of Maui, for our staycation. We were not disappointed. A beautiful place to rest, and a perfect start location to explore into Hana. We will definitely be back!

I'll make a 4 part review since each member of our family had a different take. MOM: awesome peaceful setting. Clean house. Everything provided to cook a great family meal, lots of fresh towels. Washer and dryer, beach gear all is there for you. Small Grocery in paia is 20 minutes, so load up at a big grocery in advance. Perfect for family if 4 or even more. There were a lot of bugs and liazards inside though even if you take out the garbage and recycling every day wich we did. DAD: Beds were all comfortable and soft clean linens. Easy access to get a head start on Hana road. The beach is acessable from home but not a great beach. Really Noisy at night with jungle and rain sounds, but it's a nice noise. Loved the outdoor bathroom. KID 1: cool place, but kinda boring. Nothing to do here while we wait to go out. Had fun at all the waterfall and seeing sea turtles at hanoa beach. Glad I had a comfy bed to myself I didn't have to share with my sister. Good Wifi. KID 2: I loved it here, nice place to relax and read. To many GECKOS they are all over the walls and windows and they are cute but freaked me out. Bed was really comfortable. There are some fruit trees in the yard and a trampoline

This place kicks butt, it's close to Paia which is the greatest little spot on the north side. The house is much bigger than it seems and the chickens and fruit trees makes this place look like your very own tropical paradise. The place is very well kept and has a very modern feel to it. I would go back every time

My husband, baby daughter, and I had a great stay at Kandide's house. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, and very well located - close to the towns of Haiku and Paia. The house is surrounded by fruit trees and other plants, including an avocado tree! Check-in was very easy, we were able to check in several hours early, as soon as we arrived on the island. I would go back next time we're in Maui, and recommend it to anyone visiting the island!

We had a great time on Maui in this AirBnB. You live in the middle of the rainforest and can eat fresh fruits from the yard. The house has a great outdoor area where you can sit and relax and watch the daily rainshowers and geckos who live there. I can highly recommend this Airbnb.

We stayed in Kandis house during our three months’ trip with our two little kids. We spent there 9 entire weeks and we loved all about it. We arrived to a clean beautiful home in the middle of the jungle. The house is fully equipped and is decorated beautiful. You can cook whole meals, there is even a grill outside the house. Washing machine, dryer, beach gear everything is right there. There is also a blender so you can make fresh smoothies with fruits from the garden which is huge and well kept of. The kids loved the place too, huge trampoline a lot of space and they even installed a swing for the kids. Kandi is a super friendly host and really helpful if you have any question or need anything. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and can highly recommend staying there and would definitely stay again!

The cottage was a little slice of paradise. Really comfortable living there for a week and nice to go outside and pick fresh fruit and avocados. We found the location really great for exploring all of the island too. Thank you Kandide for offering this space!

Kandide's cottage was beautiful. The pictures of it on Airbnb are good, but they don't do it justice. Every decorative detail of the cottage is deliberate and in excellent taste. The beds were comfortable, the appliances were amazing and top-of-the-line, and the art on the walls was perfect. Kandide was a great host. She told us nearby spots that tourists might not have found yet, directed us to the nearest market/commercial center, and even walked us to a special spot by her house. I can't speak highly enough of this spot; if you get a chance, rent it, and enjoy.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Love that there was a trampoline and large yard for our kiddos. The house is adorable and very comfortable. There are definitely bugs and geckos but we went there knowing from previous reviews that this would be normal. If you trip is anything like ours, you can expect lots of rain, fresh fruit and loads of adventure!

This airbnb was by far my favorite airbnb in Hawaii. The whole entire place was very well designed and decorated. Really loved the backyard arrangements and bonus points for providing a washer and dryer, a cooler, beach chairs and snorkel gear for their guest. Kandide was super sweet and made she she was avail to us when checking in and was super communicative throughout our stay!

This is a beautiful unit and location. I was disappointed that the owner did not take the time to make sure it was not fully prepared for guests.

We loved this hideaway in Haiku. It’s very close to Paia which is convenient for groceries (Mana Foods! but there’s the Haiku Super Market too, which is super local) and an excellent start point for the Road To Hana (start early). The house is well-designed and very tasteful with stylish designs and furniture. It’s VERY homey and the screened-in porch is great for late night hangs or a rainy day chill-out. The rain catch water system is genius, and Kandide is very accommodating, but invisible if you want privacy. She was extremely accommodating to us when our 2 year-old got sick and needed an air-conditioning unit. But the house doesn’t need AV generally, as it cools off pretty rapidly at night. We loved our stay there! Recommended!

We celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary here and had a great time. The accommodations were exactly as described, clean, and comfortable. Our host was quick to reply to all our requests in a very timely manner. One night we lounged out in the yard and just watched the beautiful sky and listened to the ocean. Great vacation!

Spacious. Bucolic setting with lots of things to enjoy: Ukulele, trampoline, chicken house and so on. They are very attentive on any concern in your staying.

Absolutely lovely! Very beautiful home in the perfect location to drive the Road to Hana. Very relaxing. I cannot wait to come back again. Very large space suitable for a family or a larger friend group traveling together. Beds were comfortable. Outdoor shower was a great touch.

Epic property. The cottage is super amazing with everything you’ll need to feel like you’re at home. You will not be disappointed. Stoked level was super high our entire stay here. Can’t wait to rebook for a longer stay on our next trip.

We stayed at this place with another couple and it was everything we expected. The place was clean, very trendy, and big enough to give each of us our own space. The deck is an amazing spot to sit and read a book and just relax on their beautiful property. They have an adorable bunny that lives in the area who melted our hearts. The place is really close to Paia and to Kahului so we were able to go to all the places we needed. Kandide was very quick to respond with any questions and gave us great tips for food! We highly recommend this place!

Fantastic place to stay in Maui to experience the unique jungle life. Kandide is a super host, very sweet and generous. Besides the full kitchen there are a lot of spices too. The washer/dryer, beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels, ice chest, fruits from the yard trees, comfortable beds, shampoo and conditioner, organic hand soaps, ...... all made our stay so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing!!! You'll spend half your time in the screened in porch. Has everything we needed and more, including an outdoor shower with a friendly gecko. Only thing we couldve asked for was an air conditioner to pull the humidity from the air. Felt like the coolest house ive ever been in. Make sure you put your food away at night to avoid bugs!

Mahalo to Kandide for being such a great host. The location is superb and allowed us to see a different side of Maui which is exactly what we were looking for! The house was well equiped with everything we needed for our stay. If you're looking for a calm place to stay, in the nature of Maui and still a short drive away from the beaches and the cities, this is a great place!

A truly grounding/recentering experience! We traveled to Maui with our two small children, almost 3 year old son and 8 month old daughter. Our stay at Kandide’s cottage was excellent! She’d purchased a crib for the cottage and for us to use during our stay. It was a super cozy location tucked away in the jungle with little ocean views sneaking into a couple windows. It was so great to have all that we needed to make our meals at home! We did breakfast and dinner at the cottage, and packed lunches/snacks for our beach and adventure days. Kandide had tons of info on places to visit on the island with our two little people. Traveling with kids it was great to have the comforts of home, but on a more simplified level. We didn’t mind the drive to activities, it was part of our plan...if we stay on the beach or a place with a pool we knew we’d never leave and explore! This cottage welcomed you and invited you in, but also helped you to be eager to start the day. I think it’s due to the comforts of home and almost immediately feeling settled in. Our son said it perfectly on our last morning at the cottage while having breakfast before heading to the airport, “This place is just right for our family.” It sure was, buddy! We’d definitely stay here with Kandide again and certainly recommend it to those looking for a truly special experience while in Maui!

Great relaxing place to stay. Enough space for two couples or two families with kids (extra beds and couches), good amenities overall, great kitchen for cooking full meal or a smoothie with Vitamix, or beat something up in the toaster. Great location close to Paia, beaches (windsurfing, surfing, turtles and explore road Hana), also relatively easy to get to Haleakala, hikes and the airport.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Kandide’s cottage. Kandide was extremely communicative and helpful, and even though we did not meet her we could see so many thoughtful touches throughout her place. The cottage was clean, the screened-in lanai was amazing. Would definitely come back again if we are in the area!

If you are looking for a secluded getaway with all the comforts of home, this is your place. It’s decked out with top of the line appliances to make any stay comfortable. Very well designed space with common areas, tons of light, and lots of airflow to keep the place cool. The unit is well equipped to host a group dinner or a great day at the beach. Kandide was a very accommodating host and answered all our questions. If you are looking for off the grid retreat with all the comforts of home, this is your place.

great location-off the beaten path. Loved the proximity to Paia. Beautiful lanai to enjoy cool breeze in the evening and listen to the birds. Comfortable bed and short walk to lookout over the water. IMHO, much better than anything on the west side of maui. This is real maui, great food in Paia, very friendly locals. Beautiful beaches, love all of the microclimates and wildlife.

Cute place, our kids had a blast. It was a bit warm. They aren't joking about the bugs (use the can of raid when you leave and it should be fine) no rhyme or reason for the ants they are just there. There are so nice touches to the place like the new vita mix. The shower and toilet outside was great too.

Beautiful location on the road to Hana. The outdoor shower/bathroom is unique. There's a constant breeze throughout the house that makes you feel as if you are outdoors. Kandide is a nice host who will work on any issue that may come up during your stay. We would happily recommend to stay at her place.

Not what I expected. Bugs & little geckos all over the house. We all slept in the same room because everyone else was scared. One person said they think they saw a rat running around kitchen (I didn’t see it so I’m giving the benefit of doubt) and another person had a gecko land on top of them. WiFi signal very poor (I didn’t care much for it because I wanted to be disconnected, but the other three folks wanted their WiFi) The place itself is really gorgeous. If you want to get away and enjoy the rural life this is a great place. I have to say I was really looking forward to staying here. It’s definitely clean and provides so much great aesthetic touches. I just hate having little creatures in my bedroom, so I’m biased. Definitely, not the type of person to camp outdoors...just yet at least.

A wonderful hideaway from the busy parts of Maui. The cottage has more than basic kitchen appliances one needs to prepare decent meals. Those who plan to do serious exploration along the road to Hana should do well to book a few nights here. Also, we love the outside shower/toilet.

We loved staying here! This almost off the grid oasis was the greatest way to spend our time in Maui. We really enjoyed the lanai, the beautiful grounds and the outdoor shower. We didn't get a chance to meet Kandide but she was quick to address the few questions we had. If you're doing the Road to Hana this is the perfect base, the zero mile marker is just down the highway. PS If you get a chance go down to the end of the road past the cottage to catch the sunrise. There's a path straight out the point and another that splits off that and goes down to the secluded beach (bit of a hike but worth it).

Beautiful AirBnB on a farm surrounded by fruit trees and chickens. We loved the lanai during the evening. Our host was very nice and helpful during our stay. Note: this is a very remote part of the island so you will find lots of bugs and critters in the living room. But no issues in the bedrooms. Make sure to put all food in the fridge.

This place is so cute and very clean!! Very private and spacious. The screened in porch was the best place to hang out at night. There was a nice cross breeze. It gets pretty hot during the day, but we were out exploring. We did not have any issues with bugs.

Kandide’s place is beautiful and peaceful. We had a really comfortable stay and loved being tucked away at the end of the road, in the trees. Kandide was very quick to respond and helpful, making our stay lovely. The only thing a bit intermittent was the wifi which would be helpful for planning what to do in the area, but it didn’t detract from our stay. I’d recommend this sweet place

My husband, myself, and our 2 yr old had a great stay here. The space is light and well designed, the kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfy. The screened in lanai, layout, and nice touches (good kitchen knives, crib, ukulele, etc) all made our stay very enjoyable. Good place if you're looking for a low key stay in the upcountry, and have a healthy tolerance for insects/critters. If you've never stayed in the upcountry but decide to give it a go, just remember that you're more or less staying in the jungle and (especially with a house this size) you are likely to have some 'house guests'. We passed a couple suggestions on to the owner regarding minimal maintenance items. It is worth noting that none of us received a single bug bite while in the house. Wish we were sitting on the lanai right now.

We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. It’s in a very quiet area and surrounded by all kinds of fruit trees. We traveled with our baby and loved the feature that there’s a portable crib provided by the host. Even though during our short stay we didn’t get to meet the host, she provided very detailed and welcoming instructions before our arrival. The only negative point is the WiFi was extremely slow, but there’re plenty of activities to keep you busy anyways. Overall this is the place we want to stay again for our next visit to Maui.

Loved the vibe of Kandide's place -- so simple, yet stylish. The location was pretty cool -- it felt far off the beaten path (it's on the rainy side of the island) but it was lush and so beautiful. It's a great place to be if you want to drive the Hana road, and it's close to Makawao and Paia, both great, little communities with wonderful boutique shops. There are some trade-offs bc of the location -- really slow wifi, bringing all our own water (house runs on catchment system), not near any beaches -- but worth it to experience the other side of Maui. We spent most of our time in Lahaina (going to beaches) and spent the last few days here, and really enjoyed both.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kandy’s cottage. The remote location was SO restful and relaxing, I wish that I was there right now listening to the wind in the palm trees. The cottage was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities that we needed to feel at home. We appreciated the beach chairs and flippers for our sea side excursions. We loved the fruit trees! Thanks so much for making a wonderful space available to rent! ps send our love to the geckos!

We had a lovely stay at Cottage A. Our family of five had more than enough space inside, there were many nice touches like fresh flowers left for us on the kitchen table, and a ukulele and guitar that my husband and son had fun playing. The cottage was a great launching off point for exploring the turtles at Ho'okipa Beach Park, shops and restaurants in Paia, mountain biking at Makawao Forest Reserve and waterfall atTwin Falls.

We stayed for 2 nights to visit Haleakala and the road to Hana. Great location at mile marker zero on the road to Hana. The cottage is very spacious and is a very good value if you have a larger group as the upstairs bedroom has a twin daybed and a king sized bed and the downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen was well stocked, and 2 beach towels are provided along with beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and beach toys. We didn’t get to meet Kandide and her family as we arrived late evening and were out and about all day. Overall a good stay and convenient for exploring the east side of Maui.

You can hear the Ocean from this place, if the lovely birds allow you to. This is rain forest territory and it's a beautiful green space to relax in. Lemons, limes and oranges are growing throughout the property. It's a great spot for a family or two couples.
