Approximately 600 square feet. (400sf with 200sf loft). Enjoy the views with indoor dining or outdoor dining on balcony (lanai), and wall-to wall front and back opening accordion doors. Have clothes washer/dryer located on the left side of the cabana (outside), hot water, wifi and internet TV. Large shower and comfy beds for a good night sleep. Air conditioning in loft is sufficient to cool house to 76 degrees at night but not for daytime use. Kitchenette has full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and many small kitchen appliances, pots and pans, dishware, etc... for short or long stay.

Notes
You are welcome to use the snorkel gear, beach chairs, and boogie boards, but please clean and return to the front porch for future guests. We also have paddle boards for your use. Adjacent house is occupied by a family with children that like to interact, swim, and play.
Transit
convenient bus access on Lunalilo Home Road. Within 2 miles (or less) - multiple dining options, shopping such as Safeway, Costco, Longs Drug, Ross. Close to Post Office, hiking, movie theatre, and watersports rental.
Access
The Cabana is a stand alone structure located on the back of the property steps from the waters edge. Access to shared yard, shared pool, shared dock. The adjacent house is private - no access. The Cabana has a downstairs that is used for storage - no access. you can access the dock, however the boat and boat lift are prohibited from use. For safety reasons - children under 8 must be accompanied by adult when accessing lower side of cabana at waterfront as there are no handrails or guardrails to prevent fall an no lifeguard. For those with mobility issues, the cabana has about a 100' random rock walkway path on grass/stone pavers and stairs with 4 steps up leading to entrance. Upper loft leading to queen sized bed has a steep ships ladder and head clearance issues (approx. 5 foot height at top of stairs). Enter at your own risk. Bedroom Queen bed and pullout queen sized couch are for those who may have difficulty with the head clearance in loft.

Sarah was so helpful in every way. She had everything we needed and lots of extras like beach towels, a cooler and snorkeling equipment for us to use at the beach. The Cabana is so peaceful and relaxing, the yard and pool were so pretty and enjoyable to spend time in. I loved our stay so much and hope to return again next time we make it to Hawaii!
Jun 27, 2019I was a little nervous about booking originally because it was a somewhat new listing and there weren't any reviews posted yet, but, I am so so glad I trusted in Sarah and Curtis because their cabana home in Hawaii Kai was absolutely amazing in every way. When we arrived Sarah and Curtis were there to greet us and show us around and had everything set up for our week, including fresh mangos from their tree! The home was so open and clean and fresh but so relaxing as well. We were able to fish from the balcony and we all enjoyed watching the various watersports going on in the bay. The week has been a dream. I hope I am able to come back to stay with them again in the future. Thank you for everything Sarah and Curtis, and.... Mahalo.
Jun 27, 2019We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at the Cabana. It was a peaceful Hawaiian retreat! We enjoyed just sitting on the couch and looking out at the water, or watching the sunset. The Cabana was thoughtfully filled with everything we needed and more. We only had to go out and buy food to cook. The Cabana was only a few minutes away from a lot of the activities we wanted to do; Koko Head Trail and Hanauma Bay were less than 10 minutes away! Sarah and her family were very welcoming and thoughtful hosts. On our arrival, we were welcomed with some Hawaiian treats, and throughout our stay, they checked in to see if we needed anything. We stayed at the Cabana during a week when there were two hurricane warnings issued for Oahu, and Sarah came by to assure us that they had enough food/water and a plan if we had to evacuate. This was our first AirBnB stay and we were so spoiled, it’s hard to imagine how another place can top this!
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I stayed at Sarah and Curtis' cabana for our anniversary. Both the cabana and hospitality exceeded our expectations. The cabana looks beautiful in the pictures but is even better in person. We loved that it overlooked the water and was very peaceful. It is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu but still a short 20 minute drive to downtown Waikiki. It's also very close to Hanama bay which was a great snorkeling place and the cabana had snorkeling gear for us to use! It also had boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and all of the basic necessities. Sarah and Curtis were very welcoming and kind. We would honestly and most definitely recommend this place to our friends who are looking for a place to stay in Oahu and hope to stay here again in the future! Jun 27, 20195 star accommodations. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. Breathtaking views from large panel folding doors that open to Marina. Sarah and family have the aloha spirit. Close to Roy's and Island Brew Coffeehouse and away from busy Waikiki. Definitely a place to revisit.
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful experience at Sarah and Curtis's cabana. It sits right on the water, so you can open the sliding doors to enjoy the cool breeze and beautiful view of the pond and rolling hills from anywhere in the home. Everything in the cabana was clean and comfortable, including the beds and linens. Sarah and Curtis are perfect hosts. They were friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed chatting with them throughout our stay. This is a perfect place to stay for a couple, or a small family with children. One thing to note: the bathroom is connected to the master bedroom, but does not have a separate door. It's still semi-private, or fully private if you close the bedroom door. Stay here if you want to escape the hustle of Waikiki and enjoy a more peaceful side of the island.
Jun 27, 2019Simply the best. Our stay at Sarah and Curtis' waterfront cabana exceeded our every expectation. It is beautiful to look at, well maintained, clean and so thoughtfully appointed. The pictures look awesome but the cabana is even better in person. Sarah has done a wonderful job equipping the cabana with nice things, everything you could ask for and so much you wouldn't even dream of asking for. It was clear she worked hard to make our stay special. She is very attentive while giving you as much or little space as you want. She was very responsive and responsive both ahead of and during our stay. The location is wonderful. A quite sanctuary on the water. A short drive away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki beach and only a few minutes from excellent snorkeling, hiking, a blow hole, light house, beaches and more. We're already trying to figure out when we can return for a longer stay in this beautiful, peaceful cabana. I'll be recommending it to anyone who will listen. Thank you.

Providing us with abundance resources to make our stay the best it could be. I will definitely come back to this Cabana if we decided to come to Oahu again.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah contacted us ahead of time so that we knew how to get ahold of her when we landed. She was prompt in responding when we landed and came out to meet us immediately on arriving. She spent time showing us around and how everything worked in the space. The cabana was absolutely amazing. It had been completely cleaned and everything in the place worked correctly without issue. Sarah and her family were amazing hosts. Our children had a wonderful time playing with hers as well. Very nice people.
Jun 27, 2019We were truly spoiled by the Cabana, and by the warm and welcoming hosts - Sarah, Curtis and their adorable kids! The space is so beautiful and serene, spotless, and surprisingly modern. The entire house opens up to the bay and the backyard, allowing the relaxing tradewinds to breeze thru and naturally cool the house, even without the multiple ceiling fans and AC in the loft. Every convenience and luxury has been considered, from the remote-controlled fans and sunshades to the brand new appliances, cooking and entertaining supplies and outdoor dining set. We were so enamored with the view, we never turned on the TV - this space is as close to sleeping on the actual water as I can imagine. Sarah, her husband Curtis, and their adorable children were warm, helpful and easy to communicate with, readily sharing tips for local stores, scenic hikes and North Shore snorkeling spots for our trip. This was the best introduction to Oahu living we could have asked for, and we hope to visit again in the future. Aloha and Mahalo!

Jun 27, 2019This is a unique boat house / cabana right on the water. The huge doors open completely so you live outside-ish if you want. Perfect for reading a book, creating, or cooking. We slept with doors open to the water, lovely. The hosts' family pool is available to use also. Our kids enjoyed it and played with their kids. a shopping plaza just around the corner has all your basic supplies, including poke and good burgers.
Jun 27, 2019There are so many positives things I could say about this cabana! It is more beautiful on the inside than the pictures represent. The water is right outside the large windows that open up fully and capture the crosswinds. The bedroom has these as well. We were a family of four and we were all very comfortable. Everyday I looked forward to coming home to the cabana! Every amenity was there, and we needed nothing. But we knew that if we did, Sarah was always there to provide anything we needed. We came during Thanksgiving, and she invited us to her feast, we met so many wonderful people there! We felt as if we were part of the neighborhood, and a part of her wonderful family! (The kids are so cute!) I wish I could keep it a secret so I could book this every time I come back, but everyone coming to Honolulu that wants to stay close enough to the city to access it, but away from it to experience living in Hawaii, should stay in this cabana. It is peaceful, charming, and beautiful. I felt very safe and had lots of privacy, so much so that when I come back by myself to drop my son off for college, I will book this cabana(if I can get it!) because the neighborhood is quiet and very safe. The cabana has shopping nearby, less than a mile, so you can get groceries, eat, and there is fishing and water sports nearby. It is a very convenient neighborhood. I consider myself lucky to have found this! I hope to be able to be lucky enough to book this again! Thank you Sarah and Family!

When you walk in your in the great rm looking out on the water. Walnut cupboards in Kitchen w high end appliances. Vaulted ceilings. Awesome bath w/ walk in glass block shower. Flooring through out is stunning. Sara is an awesome host!
Jun 27, 2019Similar to previous reviews, I can't stress enough how lovely this place is. Sarah was extremely easy to get ahold of and communicate with. The place has everything you need and more. Sarah and her family were so welcoming and helpful, but also gave us plenty of privacy. The view was amazing, and the accordion-style doors, letting in a lovely breeze in the evenings, were just magical. We traveled with our two young kids, and the accommodations were perfect for our family of four. Highly recommend. We plan to return!

Jun 27, 2019Sarah and her family are fantastic hosts - quick to respond but also respectful of our privacy. Accommodation is a big part of the holiday experience and for our family of 3 this was perfect. Nothing like sleeping to the soundtrack of lapping waves. Very good neighbourhood and located within 20 minutes of Waikiki (if you need to go!). This is our second Oahu trip and will not hesitate to book again if we return. Much mahalo to Sarah.

Jun 27, 2019Unique, quiet cabana with scenic views on the water. Even better than the pictures. Very clean with all of the amenities needed and a fully stocked and functional kitchen. Plenty of space for 2 of us and the sliding doors throughout the cabana brought the outside in. Sarah and her family were great hosts very welcoming and friendly.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah is a warm, responsive and caring host. She is genuinely interested in her guest's plans and even offered to drop us off at the nearby state park (we didn't rent a car and were using ride share to get around). The cabana is even more impressive in person. Prepare to be inspired!

Jun 27, 2019This is a great place to stay! The cabana is bright, airy and makes you never want to leave. The location is also amazing putting you outside of the crazy downtown Waikiki area and near all the main outdoor attractions. Sarah was so hospitable and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to keeping the cabana stocked with whatever you need. Wether it be sun screen or beach towels she has thought of everything. We were able to use snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and many other things we didn't even think to bring or buy. I would highly recommend a stay in this wonderful place.

Jun 27, 2019This is such a wonderful place to stay and Sarah is the perfect host and quick to communicate. We loved the location by the marina, watching life on the water and having breakfast on the deck. Sarah provides everything you could think of to make your stay easy and for day trips away from the cabana. The kitchen is well equipped, the shower has good water pressure, the beds are comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So much so, that we are coming back again! Jul 27, 2019Magical. Simply magical. Not only would I stay again, I did. My wife and I stayed at the Cabana for a week last September (read my September review)and knew then that we just had to come back for a longer stay. We just finished a three week stay at Sarah and Curtis' cabana and this stay was even better than the last. Architecturally beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, awesome views, and a world class location. Sarah and Curtis are amazing hosts, great communications, so warm and welcoming, they made us truly feel at home.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah's Cabana was perfect for my family's first stay in Honolulu. The pictures certainly do not do enough justice to the beauty of the indoor/outdoor living of the space. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet for some rest and relaxation, but close enough to drive around if you want to get to the action. Sarah was one of the most accommodating hosts I've ever stayed with and she is running a smooth ship. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to relax in the Hawaii Kai area.

Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay here, great a four girls on a girls trip. The view is unbeatable and the house is absolutely gorgeous, the house is clean and has everything you need. We loved enjoying some drinks on the balcony overlooking the water and hills. I will note that the location is about a 30 minute drive to central Waikiki.
Jun 27, 2019Highly recommend! Gorgeous house on the water! It was perfect for our family of four with two 6 year olds! Location was excellent. Close to restaurants, groceries, amazing beaches and also close to tourist attractions when we were ready to venture out. The kids loved the downtime we spent at the house swimming in the pool or playing in the backyard. We would rent this house again on all future Hawaii trips! Jun 27, 2019Totally recommend. Our family (two adults & two children 9 and 11) used the beautiful cabana as a base from which to explore the island. We had a everything we could ask for plus some super bonus items (who doesn't enjoy being surprised with fresh mango's every day). Sarah & Curtis were very welcoming and made us feel totally at home and relaxed. Our children had a great time playing in the beautiful garden setting with their lovely children.

Jun 27, 2019AMAZING,AMAZING AND AMAZING!!!! Sarah is a super host. The pics of this Cabana are so pretty, but when you are actually in it you will be in awe. As soon as you walk through the gate into the tropical garden to the natural playground and pool area. The scenery is magestic, you either face Koko crater in it beauty or the calming bay. The breeze through the Cabana with all the doors open is just heaven. Sarah's children are beautiful with their smiles and giggles, such a beautiful family. Sarah & Curtis are genuine hosts that put their whole heart into making there visitors welcome. It truly was home away from home. Cant wait til our next stay in the Cabana. Mahalo for making this a completed package for us to enjoy our perfect vacation. Love you all.

Jun 27, 2019Sarah’s place is amazing! It is super clean and very well maintained ~ one can truly tell that she and her family really care about the property and your comfort during your stay. Each morning we opened the beautiful wooden doors overlooking the water and enjoyed the view while making breakfast. Sarah was so nice and thoughtful ~ she even left us a very delicious pineapple in the fridge and avocados from her tree :) . She was always very quick to respond to any of our questions, was extremely helpful, and also went out of her way to help us enjoy our first paddle boarding experience outside by their dock! Her kids were also very polite and wonderful to meet as well! The location is great because it’s in a very quiet area but still close enough to downtown and also to Kailua/Kaneohe area. We also liked that it was close to a 24-hour market (Safeway). We loved staying here so much that we are actually going to plan our next trip to O’ahu around it’s availability :D. Jun 27, 2019Wonderful! The view, location, and amenities are excellent, and Sarah and Curties are great hosts. My husband and I had a super enjoyable stay. The Hawaii Kai location is very close to grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, Koko Crater, and Hanauma Bay, which was perfect for our short visit. (We’ve been to Oahu before so we knew what we wanted to do in our limited amount of time on the island.) However, it is really good central location as a base to visit many of Oahu’s attractions. Highly recommend!

Jun 27, 2019We were lucky enough to find this gem with availability for the week were visiting Oahu and we honestly cannot say enough great things about our stay at the cabana! It was amazing! Sarah was a great host. The views from the Cabana are so beautiful. She really went above and beyond to include everything you might need during your stay. Snorkeling equipment, body boards, beach chairs, a cooler, fans, washer and dryer, every kitchen accessory you could think of, etc. We will definitely be back!
Jun 27, 2019This home is even more beautiful than the pictures describe. The family who own it live in front of the property. They are a delightful family. They seem to intuitively know how to be helpful yet allow privacy depending on the needs of their guests. There is a little village nearby. We were able to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii without having to venture far or see any crowds. For those that want more hustle and bustle, the city is a short 20 minute ride away. I would LOVE to be able to stay there again! Thank you to this wonderful family!
Jun 27, 2019We had such a wonderful stay at the cabana! My husband and I traveled with our 10 week old baby to Oahu and spent two weeks in this amazing rental. It has everything a family could need and is a beautiful place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice. You have great privacy and plenty of space along with amazing views of the marina and mountains. Sarah and her family were such great hosts and made us feel right at home. We had a fun time getting to know them as well, and they made our newborn’s trip feel even more special. We hope to stay here again!!

Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay in Hawaii Kai at Sarah's cabana! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out and sits right on the water's edge. Our kids wanted to move-in permanently. And Sarah was such a generous host - providing us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a serene visit to Oahu.

Jun 27, 2019This was my first experience staying in an owner-occupied property. I'd booked stand alone homes before, but never had the owner there, so I was a little wary. But as the other reviews mentioned, Sarah knows just when to appear and when to give guests space; we had all the privacy we could have wanted and once ensconced in the bungalow, it was as if we were in our own private world. We loved fully opening the sliding doors and letting the warm trade winds flow through the house, even on rainy days. The wind, the lapping waves, the occasional drizzle and pounding of rain made for a most contemplative setting. Forget the Headspace app, I just closed my eyes and meditated! But when my eyes were open... wow, what a view! My son enjoyed fishing along the lanai. He saw a puffer fish and a barracuda! I would say that the bungalow fits 4 comfortably: One person in the loft, two in the queen bed downstairs and one (or maybe two kids) in the living room sofa bed. Three would be ideal, but 4 is doable. The loft is for the able-bodied and sure-footed, as the stairs are not for the clumsy or the feeble. It's also an open-floor plan, no floor to ceiling interior wall between the bathroom and bedroom and no floor to ceiling walls on two sides of the loft (and the bathroom has no door) -- so just beware that sound travels! The bungalow is sparkling clean! There's no overload of tchotchkes to get dusty and in the way. The house has all that you need, but not clutter. Having a washer/dryer just outside was the best, especially since I have boys! The location was convenient to grocery stores (Safeway, Costco) and restaurants. Nine minutes away from Hanauma Bay and minutes away from the original Roy's. I compared my experience at Sarah's bungalow with that of my friend's, who stayed in a Waikiki hotel during that same week and I have to say, my friend was jealous! Sarah and her family were warm and accommodating, approachable and casual. The three children are absolutely adorable. What a wonderful family!

Because they had such glowing reviews, we weren’t surprised, but they really thought of everything, including providing fresh fruit from their trees! We really can’t say enough. We had a delightful time and would certainly stay again! Beautiful and clean! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

Great location in Hawaii Kai, convenient to a ton of attractions, and close to town for restaurants/groceries/etc. Sarah herself is as warm and welcoming a host as one could ask for. We did have to coax a gecko out the dryer when doing laundry. Other than that, our stay was perfect!

Jun 27, 2019The Cabana was perfect the 4 of us. The cabana is beautiful and Sarah has done an amazing job to make this the perfect place to stay while visiting Oahu. The location is perfect if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and Waikiki, with amazing beaches, hikes and eating options in such close proximity and town never being to far a drive. Sarah, Curtis and family are great and we will definitely be looking at staying here again on our next trip.
Jun 27, 2019I can’t say enough about Sarah’s cabana! You will definitely love it. We loved it, me, my husband and my kids all loved the cabana so much that we really didn’t want to leave! The Cabana and the facility is exactly what you see on the pics. The place is very clean and they’ve got all kinds of beach gear ready for you. It’s located in the famous Hawaii Kai residential area, right in front of the Canal. It is very quiet and nice neighborhood. Things are all close too. The beaches, supermarkets and restaurants are within a few miles. Sarah and her family was such a kind hearted, lovely and amazing people who went beyond to help us and make us happy. We would love to stay at Sarah’s Cabana again!

Jun 27, 2019Sarah's place was exactly as shown in the listing and the pictures. Beautiful waterfront view with a great deck / patio. To just be able to sit out there and watch the sun set and sun rise was so awesome. Place itself was clean and tidy, Sarah herself was very accommodating and very friendly and was easy to get a hold off. This was probably my favourite Airbnb I've ever stayed at, thank you again Sarah for the awesome time!

Jun 27, 2019We traveled to Oahu to celebrate a milestone birthday. Sarah was a delight to work with—we arranged to have some tasteful birthday decorations and a bottle of champagne to arrive in advance of us. Our friend was surprised and delighted by both! Sarah greeted us when we arrived, but her communications were so clear it would have been a breeze if she hadn’t. She and her family are warm and open. The cabana is perfectly sized. The doors open fully to allow for a great cross breeze. During the day, there are motorized shades to stay cool. We were able to use the pool and hot tub on site. The balcony is unique and the view of the canal is lovely. The stairs up to loft are quite steep, but craftily engineered. We highly recommend the cabana for a luxurious space off the beaten path. Jun 27, 2019The waterfront cabana is incredible. The openness and space are so thoughtfully designed. This is truly an oasis in paradise. Sarah and her family are so welcoming and go above and beyond to meet your needs. Every detail has been thought of. Shopping and sightseeing is very close to this property. We were so pampered, we didn’t want the trip to end. I have never wanted to stay at a place on vacation again in the future like this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Jun 27, 2019You will find Sarah and Curtis very friendly and responsive. Their location is well located in Hawaii Kia close to good restaurants and stores. While the area is called East Honolulu, it is located out of the hustle and bustle of Honolulu with easy access to Sandy Beach - fantastic boggy boarding. Their accommodations are located right on the water of the inlet. Are great place to relax and read a good book. We will look to stay at their locations the next time on the island.

The sliding doors fully opened up to the balcony and this was a great place to enjoy our morning coffee. The cabana has a full kitchen and there's a washer/dryer so you have all the comforts of home. Our stay there was perfect. I highly recommend this cabana for your visit to Oahu and honestly can't wait to come back again.
