Neighborhood Overview
Hidden gem in terms of location and the long expansive beach! This complex is quiet and away from the busy roads. Plus it is only a 20 minute drive to Lahaina and 20 minutes to Wailea and 15 minutes to the airport. This lovely resort sits on Sugar Beach! You can walk for miles on the soft sandy beach! There are other boating trips that depart from other harbors and Maalaea Harbor is less than a mile from our other beautiful rentals Kanai A Nalu and Island Sands. Many dive/snorkeling excursions and sunset dinner cruises take off from here. Maalaea Harbor has wonderful dining experiences for all budgets and a variety of cuisine choices to whet the appetite! There are fun activities for the kids and adults visit Maui Golf and Sports Park. You can play miniature golf, X-treme trampoline, rock wall climb, and bumper boats. A short walk down the quiet, tree-lined road will lead you to Ma’alaea Harbor with its great restaurants and shops, including the Five Star rated waterfront. Just steps away is the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, a putt-putt golf course, rock climbing wall, trampoline and bumper boats. Fun for the entire family! The lanai is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or tea as you watch the whales playing (December-March) or boats going in and out of the harbor. The ocean front heated pool is set in a tropical landscaped courtyard that will inspire you to relax. If you’re not into swimming there are plenty of lounge chairs for reading and sunning. This is a beautiful condo! The unit is exactly as seen in the pictures. Very nicely renovated with all the needed condiments and supplies. Unit is on the 4th floor so it has a beautiful view. Location is perfect. Right in the middle of the island and central to all the things we wanted to see and do. Building is nice and quiet. Beach is beautiful for taking long walks and the breeze keeps things nice and cool. Kathy was fantastic to work with. She provided everything we needed in advance along with recommendations for things to see and do and places to eat. She responded extremely quickly to any questions or concerns during our stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely return! Thank you for making our stay in Maui so enjoyable!

Jun 27, 2019The house is simply amazing. The location is perfect, in the middle of th Island, and the condo is literally by he ocean. The sound of the ocean at night... We'll miss that! It's also fully equipped. I can't think of anything we needed that wasn't already there: beach towels, swimming pool noodles, picnic bag, kickboards... You name it! Same thing with the kitchen. High-end appliances and enough pans and tableware to cook and serve a full thanksgiving meal. 100% recommended!
Jun 27, 2019Beautiful condo, location is great for anything you want to do on Maui, kitchen has everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. We had extra towels and blankets. Towels for the beach and pool. Kathy has thought of everything. Wifi access and TV were also awesome when we returned from a fun filled day to relax.
Jun 27, 2019Excellent Property and Excellent location. I secured this property for a client. They enjoyed their stay immensely. Host reported a carpet stain afterward, however I cannot pursue compensation without photos. So other than that----excellent experience.
Jun 27, 2019This was my first trip to Hawaii and having used Airbnb successfully before, I was looking forward to our stay! While I can usually overlook most shortcomings, the list was too many to ignore here. Wide angle pictures & professionally written listing descriptions will impress most - however, here are some takes from my REAL customer experience at the 414 condo: "We will provide you with a special code to access the condo after you are booked and paid in full." - After a 13 day stay, we were charged a "half day rate" for a late checkout for 5 hours over our contracted stay. During our last day, we ended up being locked out of the condo. Thankfully the late checkout fee was refunded due to this situation. Not quite the goodbye from our paradise as we hoped for. "This unit includes a window A/C in the living room should you need it although we find it is rarely needed because the tradewinds keep you comfortable." - The AC unit is a measly 12" by 32" window unit that had trouble keeping even the living room & kitchen areas cool. If 86 degrees in your bedroom while sleeping is "comfortable", then this might be the place for you. "This setting is wonderful for romantic sunset strolls. For the more active person this is a great beach to run on as you can do so for miles in peace away from the crowds." -- "Three miles of quiet sandy beach will entice you to walk, run, or build sand castles." - Haycraft Park is roughly 500 feet away from the beach directly in front of this condo, and it was filled with people every day. Half the time we were here, there were campers there who stayed all day and over night with big fish lines across the entire beach. There may be other listings with better seclusion. "This unit is spacious and bright." - Spacious? That's a stretch. But bright? You're absolutely spot on. If you enjoy sleeping in the dark, this place might NOT be for you. Waking up at 530am is ideal for the lighting of this condo, ever with the window shades (which many times had trouble coming down since they are on automatic motors). A POSITIVE NOTE: One thing I cannot get over is the real Mahalo spirit of everyone staying and living at the Kana'i A Nalu resort. While my mother in law and 16 month old daughter got locked out on the last day, many guests there offered help, water, and to hang in their condos while we tried to wait patiently to get back in. The resort has an amazing location and even better spirit within its guests.

Jul 27, 2019I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is just as pictured and so much more! I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Maui. The location is convenient to get to many of the must-sees in Maui. The beds are amazingly comfortable. Kathy was great to work with. I highly recommend you consider staying here.

Jun 27, 2019The condo is set up very nice. The kitchen is equipped very well and has all amenities. Bedrooms and bathrooms have a good size for a vacation. It would be nice to have a full size dining table, but we've used the kitchen counter instead, which worked for us. Note that Maalaea is probably the most windy spot on the island and you'll have wind noises from the trees all day and night long. The condo complex features a nice courtyard with grass and a small pool and direct access to the beach and ocean.
Jun 27, 2019Beautiful space in a nice quiet location to unwind and relax. Our family had a very nice time unwinding and relaxing at Kathy's place. Beds are very comfortable, the updated kitchen is beautiful and accommodating for preparing meals. The condo and the building are well maintained and very clean. The easy access to the beach is a plus. In condo washer and dryer is also a plus for light packing. Host was very responsive when there was an issue with the cable box. You can't go wrong with booking Kathy's place.
