Neighborhood Overview
Our neighborhood is rich in nature and culture. Community Gardens and trees are among the residential areas while the Highland Park and cemeteries are distant closer to the highways. Also our well preserved Ridgewood reservoir is an amazing spot of well-kept nature where you can take a break from the heavy air polluted from Manhattan. Traditional Brooklyn area which will soon disappear due to the new developing wave coming from Downtown Brooklyn. In this wonderful area of Brooklyn you can always find parking since it is a family oriented area with more 1-2 family houses rather than buildings. The freedom of religion is very well expressed by the presence of old- constructions of a Russian and Spanish Catholic church among other American contemporaneous churches. This neighborhood is rich in diversity. You will find all kind of residents from around the world. 1. No visitors, other than discussed before the reservation. If there are extra guests found to be in the unit that you have not registered, there will be a $30 charge for each. 2. The guest who made the reservation must be who checks in, and will need to provide a Government ID. 3. Keep the place clean 4. Please turn off AC and light when you are not around. 5. Smoking is under no circumstances allowed inside the unit. You can smoke at the front house, as long as you clean up any mess / butts. Silvia y Andi han sido unos anfitiones estupendos. Desde el primer momento nos ayudaron con recomendaciones de cómo tomar el metro, lugares que visitar, dónde sacar dinero.. en fin, todo aquello que un visitante necesita saber. Nos llevaron a comer al lugar más rico y barato de todo NY, comida casera y de verdad de la mejor mano latina. Tienen una casa muy acogedora, limpia y cómoda. El único "pero" es la primera impresión de Brookling. Como nos explicó, la zona es al final muy tranquila y nunca pesó nada. No os dejéis llevar por la primera impresión ;) Los recomiendo sin lugar a dudas. Gracias por todo, amigos! Very kind, helpful and friendly people in NY. They helped us in every thing we needed. They are very helpful and very accurate with all the information relevant to my stay at their place as well as the areas that can be explored in New York City. The neighborhood was very peaceful and it had shops that provided basic amenities which were open for 24 hours just one or two blocks away from Silvia's place. The couple were always available for queries and their place had the amenities that will make one's stay cozy and comfortable. The other guests were also very nice. Silvia knew exactly how to vet for her guests. The house was very safe and accessible to major points especially when you wish to go to Manhattan or JFK Airport.

Jun 27, 2019Silvia and her husband were amazing hosts, and went above and beyond to make sure my friend and I had everything we needed during our stay in New York. The room was exactly what we needed: a clean spacious bed with a tv, and a spacious closet. The house was only 2 short blocks from the C line to Manhattan. I wouldn't walk around the neighborhood alone at night, but my friend and I had zero issues during our multiple walks to and from the subway. Overall, I'd say skip the hotel and stay here. You can't beat the price.

House was really nice and is as directed in pictures and description, the location is the best, as you have J and Z and even closer C that takes you to vast majority of NY tourist attractions. Is a great place for an amazing price for well known expensive city.

Jun 27, 2019This place is perfect when you want to stay outside of Manhattan. It is close to 3 subway stations that take you straight to Manhattan. Small stores are around the corner. The hosts are super friendly and helped me whenever i had a question. The room is 100% clean, just as the bathroom & kitchen. I am glad i had such great hosts & a place called home away from home. Jun 27, 2019I can only recommend this stay! Silvia is extremely friendly and open, she was very flexible with check-in and check-out times, the room was beautiful and clean and she helped me a lot by explaining the subway routes and showing me which places were worth a visit on the map. The only downside is being not that close to Manhattan but there's a lot to see in Brooklyn and the express subway line takes you to Manhattan in about 25 minutes. I didn't feel too sure about the neighbourhood at first but Silvia assured me it was safe and I can only confirm that as I arrived home late every night and never had any issues. I felt like a part of the family as soon as I arrived, thank you Silvia for making me feel so welcome!
Jun 27, 2019Had a great stay at Silvia's! She and her husband were very welcoming and super helpful with tips and tricks for tourists. The apartment is not too central but the subway brings you straight to all major places you can think of mostly without switching. More than perfect for that price!
Jun 27, 2019Silvia and Aldi are so inviting and friendly, and they maintain a comfortable, private and peaceful home. I arrived quite late at night, Silvia stayed up to show me around and tell me the best ways to get around New York. I stayed in the private room towards the back of the house which was quiet, spacious and comfortable. It was a good base to have while I explored NY. Netflix was also a bonus on cold, rainy days! Would recommend this place for solo travellers, especially if you don't stay at home too much.

Unser Zimmer war für uns zwei vollkommene ausreichend, durch einen eigene Schlüssel, durften wir kommen und gehen wie es uns eben passte, dass war sehr super. The area is nice and you can find everything very easily. You can get food very close to the apartment. I would not hang around or walk alone at night. Overall, my stay there was great!! I recommend te place and I would stay there again.

Jun 27, 2019Si trova a Brooklyn in una zona molto caratteristica, a me è piaciuto moltissimo! Si respira l'aria di periferia. È un po' lontano da Manhattan, ma è collegato benissimo con tre linee della metropolitana e la fermata è davvero vicina. Silvia, è un'ottima padrona di casa, disponibile e molto gentile e la stanza molto confortevole e pulita. Il mio è stato un ottimo soggiorno ;)
Jun 27, 2019It's was exactly what it's says Minimalist. Close to the train but it's about 40min to an hour ride. It is simple and if that's what you need then look no further but if you want to hang out all night I might find something closer.

Her place was as described. It was very clean. The subway was a block away. We had a great time and are happy we stayed at Silvia's.

Jun 27, 2019Silvia and Aldi are amazing people and are really responsive to your needs. The house is really near the subway station and there is a grocery shop and laundromat near the station if you need anything. Takes around 45 mins-1 hr to reach manhattan midtown area, the roommates can get noisy at times and because I was staying in the room facing the street it was noisy as well on some nights where parties are held in the neighbourhood on public holidays. The room is has all the necessary things you need for a short stay, bathroom and kitchen is shared with other guests. Other than that, the hosts were really the highlight of my stay there, they were very nice people and I highly recommend you get this place if you don't mind the travelling time to manhatten. You can transfer to an express train in a few stops to get you to manhattan faster should you feel the need to.
Jun 27, 2019Silvia is very nice and a great host, but at some points i felt uncomfortable, cause the neighborhood was really not nice. as a white girl i never wanted to be outside when it was dark and i was nearly the only white person. i always came home before 6pm or 8pm cause i was scared. felt a bit like ghetto, cause i am used to european standards. cause of this i was very sad that i never saw NYC by night. the other ppl(other airbnb users maybe?) in the flat can be very loud. also the street and the cars(with booming sound) are very very loud too. i felt like i needed to hurry to the flat each time i left the metro station. aaand last but not least i saw a dead cat on the pavement when i left. nice clean room and nice host, but that's all, the rest was not enjoyable. sry.

Jun 27, 2019Silvia was very friendly and accommodating. The room is exactly as described and the house was nice. The neighborhood is a rough area of Brooklyn (although changing), so at night I would say it's best to take a cab or Uber. Otherwise great place with a very nice host.

Most helpful thing is that there's a second bathroom and shower for the emergency. Even if you're in a hurry, no worries.

Jun 27, 2019Der Aufenthalt in Silvias und Aldis Haus war sehr gut. Wir haben uns im Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist sauber, komfortabel, hat eine vernünftige Gesamtausstattung und für die heißen Tage eine Klimaanlage. Der Kontakt mit Silvia war gut, auch mit ihren anderen internationalen Gästen. Sie gab uns hilfreiche Tipps, die wir direkt umgesetzt haben. Der Weg zur Subway ist kurz, der nach Manhatten ebenfalls (ca. 25 Min). Im Viertel gab es alles was wir brauchten (Einkaufen, Essen, Kino, Flughafenbus, etc.) Das Viertel ist lebendig und vital, allerdings auch direkt vor der Haustür. Man sollte als Besucher nicht allzu geräuschempfindlich sein. Ich würde wieder kommen und gerne wieder bei Silvia und Aldi wohnen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Jun 27, 2019I would highly recommend reading her house "manual" before you decided to stay with Silvia. The location is in a janky part of Brooklyn close to two closed businesses and in a strange neighborhood. I stayed with Silvia for five days, tried to cancel the fifth day before the check-in time, and was declined for no reason but got a lecture on opportunity cost (which I already knew from business school). The room is not functional for anyone who wants to get some work done in the building as there is often noises outside during the day and night. Window seals are not tight (I got attacked by a mosquito in my room with the windows closed). The bathroom is small, inconvenient, well organized, and lacking in basic toiletries (toliet paper). I would highly recomend looking elsewhere if you have any intention of getting stuff done inside the Airbnb. The only benefit of this location is it's proximity to public transit, cost, and working AC.

The provided directions for subway stations, with connections very close to the room, and good places to go and visit. The room was great, as described in picture with plenty of space and privacy. The neighborhood is not the greatest but, let's face it, who goes to NYC to stay at his/her room? I would definitely stay again here if need be!

Jun 27, 2019Silvia's place is in the heart of Brooklyn, which provides a place to sleep at affordable costs while exploring NYC. Her and her husband were fantastic hosts and allowed me an early check in, which was much needed after 3 hours sleep. The room is sparse, but well sized and fantastic wifi. Must be noted this is a house that seems to have most if not all the rooms rented out, so you at the whim of the other guest. I had no issues, and was happy for what I paid for. Only issue I would say, is that if you coming to NYC as a tourist, its a bit far out. i.e. will generally take you 40min or more by subway to get from central Manhattan to the airbnb.

Jun 27, 2019Propreté, marques d'attention, réactivité... J'ai tout trouvé chez Silvia, et plus encore ! Je me suis vraiment sentie chez moi dans cette petite chambre douillette. Seul bémol : on entend les bruits de la rue depuis la chambre ( celle dans laquelle j'étais en tout cas) , mais après des journées bien remplies, je n'y prêtais plus attention . Je reviendrai, c'est sûr !

Jun 27, 2019This place is good if you are staying around NY for few days. Nothing fancy, extra or more than the expected. But all the essentials are included. Apt and items were clean. I would not recommend going/walking around the neighborhood. But this apt is a block away from the Train C and A to get you anywhere in NY and around. It was very convenient to catch a train anytime during day/night. Price is very good for the room. They helped me with the early check-in. I appreciate that. Also I met one of the hosts , he was very nice and explained me things inside the apt and food around the neighborhood.

They are both very kind & gracious hosts, who prioritize their guests. Their home is located close to two different trains & is situated in a fairly quiet neighborhood. The room is very clean with nice additions like a closet organizer, some shelving, air conditioner/heater, flat screen tv, and a desk. I would very happily stay here in a heartbeat again!
Jun 27, 2019Very simple room but a very comfy bed. The station is close but you need to plan in around an hour to get to Central Park. The conversation with Silvia was good and the Check in easy. The bathroom was not the cleanest but okay. If you are travelling alone you might want to ask Silvia how safe the area is.. just in case. I was travelling alone and felt a little uncomfortable but nothing bad happend
