Aloha and welcome to our home, we hope you enjoy your stay. Here are a few guidelines to your stay: 1.) Please park far forward on the right hand side of the driveway. 2.)Once parked, please walk around the right side of the house to the main doors of the cottage. 3.) It is local custom to please remove shoes before entering the house. 4.) If sandy, please wash feet before entering the house and shake off sand before putting anything in the washer/dryer. 5.) Upon leaving the house please turn off all lights and electrical appliances including AC. 6.) When checking out please: -Take out garbage -Wash dirty dishes -Return the key to the lockbox.

We just finished our 9 day stay at this wonderful cottage! It was the absolute perfect location. We loved Kailua and the downtown area that is only a 4 min drive. This cottage is also super close to one of Oahu's beautiful beaches! It was very clean and cozy, and it felt like home instantly. I would definitely stay here again. Laura was a wonderful host and knew she would see to any issues, luckily we didn't have any!
Jun 27, 2019We loved that this place is only two blocks from Kalama Beach! Also very close to Kailua Beach and Lanikai Beach. Having a private bedroom as well as another sleeping space made this perfect for our needs. Fans in every room and air conditioners kept us very comfortable. Someone with an artistic flair must have originally built this place because there are beautiful, what looks to be, handmade ceramic tiles and accents throughout. Additional outside shower and washer and dryer for our use were wonderful. The neighborhood seemed to be fairly quiet and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

The artistic vibe was beautiful and the hosts were available any time we had questions. The location was PERFECT! This was our favorite spot we've ever stayed. We will be back if they will have us.

A couple easily walkable blocks from the beach (look for instructions in the guide provided) and a quiet residential neighborhood, not far at all from restaurants. It was perfect for our stay with 3 of us, the bedroom closes up w/ sliding doors, and you can enclose the extra futon bed area with a curtain. All our interactions went smoothly. The decor is very cute and fresh feeling. We did not do any cooking, but it look like everything is there if you plan to cook. Thank you Laura for a memorable stay in Kailua!

Jun 27, 2019This little cottage was a dream. The place was immaculate. And it was stunning. Nothing prepared us for the beautiful telework on the inside done by a famous ceramic artist. If you love art, you will be blown away at the artwork that is both functional and beautiful. Countertops, floor, wall finishing and wall decoration. Museum quality. The artist is well known. Our host, Laura was extremely accommodating regarding our special needs for extra pillows and other things. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in the area.
Jun 27, 2019Great clean and spacious place for the 3 adults and one toddler we had. The only thing is the beach is about a half mile walk from the house--the blocks are long. But the place itself is great, she has umbrellas for our use, plenty of clean towels, and even a little outdoor shower which came in really handy. Thanks for the stay!
Jun 27, 2019My friend and I loved Laura's cute place. The photos don't do it justice. It is so pretty and comfortable. The whole place is super clean. Loved the beautiful tiles and the open floor plan. I felt very at home there. The area is residential and quiet which I really loved. It is a five minute walk to the most beautiful beach. Around 8 minute drive to town where there are an abundance of places to eat and shop. And of course the Mecca that is Whole Foods. It's about a 25 minute walk which we found easy to walk. Laura was very communicative but gave us our space. So you just kind of feel like you live in Hawaii

Jun 27, 2019Laura' place is absolutely beautiful, we loved the artsy studio. It was very clean. There is a queen bed and a twin bed (perfect for our 18month son) and since it's open we can hear our son from our bed and when he wakes up he walks right to us. There are also sliding doors for privacy for the queen bed. There are 2 AC units 1 above the queen bed and the other in the living space; 3 ceiling fans, 1 above the queen bed, 1 living space and 1 in the bathroom. pots/pans/coffee maker/rice cooker/oil/salt&pepper/ dishwashing soap/shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/towels provided. We had breakfast at the studio and I would pack a light lunch/snacks/fruits for the beach.There's a grill outside which we used as well. Only 5-10min drive to Lanikai beach which is great for young kids. EVERYTHING was PERFECT. We would definitely come back and stay at Laura's place.

Jun 27, 2019Immaculately clean ohana walking distance to beach, located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Very private. Ideal for a couple but small for a family. Tile work by a former resident artist is beautiful and amazing. Host (Laura) is unobtrusive but available if needed. Will return for a future visit!

Jun 27, 2019Laura's place was fantastic! The bed was super comfy and the A/C's were a nice extra benefit to the already well ventilated space (although the ceiling fans and floor fan were plenty). The walk to the beach is minimal (5-10 minutes tops). This area of Kailua Beach is awesome, especially during the week as there are usually less people than down by the beach park. Laura greeted us with a smile and then gave us 100% privacy. The few times we saw each other in passing, she was exceptionally nice and again, always smiling. My fiancé and I felt completely at home and relaxed. We will definitely be looking to stay here again when we return. Thank you for sharing your space, Laura!
Jun 27, 2019Laura's cottage was spotless, charming and comfortable. It was a perfect place for us. It had beautiful mosaic tile art throughout, and every convenience one could think of. The furniture was nice and very user friendly--a bistro table for four, a large couch,a futon chair, and plenty of storage. The kitchen was ready for us to use, with dishes, flatware, glasses and all we needed. Laura also has a small desk which was great for the lap top, and a power strip big enough for our multiple electronic devices. She also has a large fan which could be moved where needed. We felt very comfortable and at home, and Laura was readily available and very responsive to any questions. The beach was within easy walking distance. Laura had thought of everything needed for a day at the beach--a cart to take supplies in, beach towels, toys and other things. We will definitely want to stay at the cottage again.

Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed our trip to Kailua. Laura's place was very clean, nicely located within Kailua very close to Kalama beach (short walk) which was a great spot for mellow swimming. All the photos of the cottage space are very true to life. It was great to have a place with a king sized bed and A/C - not a lot of options out there with both. Laura and her husband were very quick to reply to our couple of requests. All in all a very enjoyable stay!
Jun 27, 2019This was a great place to stay. The cottage was bright, clean, and welcoming. Laura was very helpful and accessible for recommendations and questions, but also respected our privacy. And the art tiles throughout were a wonderful bonus. The beach was spectacular and within walking distance. Loved Kailua and it had charming shops and delicious restaurants. We would love to come back. Highest recommendation!
Jun 27, 2019This is a wonderful setting for a vacation or business trip. First impression as you drive in isn't the best simply because the main house has seen many seasons, but the guest house space and amenities are very comfortable.

This cottage was built by a well-known potter, and is LOADED with his artwork. I'm so delighted to be able to return here! Uplifting environment that makes you feel special every time you walk in! Be sure to close the pocket doors - at least once, to view the amazing ceramic insets!
Jun 27, 2019Laura’s place is beautiful and so well located, light and airy. It’s like living in an art gallery with the artisan tiles that decorate the whole space. It’s a really short walk to the beach and the neighborhood is quite. It’s a short drive to town, where there is great shopping and eating. It was important for us to be able to cook, so we chose her place because of the nice kitchen since I had to cook for my daughter and her friends for the one night that we celebrated our daughter’s birthday in advance. She and her husband are great hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had ample coffee, a really sharp knife to cut pineapple, and even printed an online confirmation slip we needed for a tour. Having a washer and dryer also made the space more desirable for us. We would highly recommend her space, and the attention we got from our hosts was excellent.
Jun 27, 2019The cottage is clean, very private, brightly lit and everything looks pretty much like the pictures provided. It has size of a bigger one-bedroom apartment, located in a quiet street, 5 minutes walk to a nearest beach, 10 minutes walk to nicer Kalama Beach park and 10 minutes drive to very good Kailua and Lankai beaches. There is a big shopping plaza within less than 10 minutes drive, which has grocery stores (including WholeFoods), pharmacies and restaurants. The hosts provided everything, including all possible kitchen appliances and dinnerware, stash of clean towels of various sizes, shampoo, sunscreen, etc. Laura was very approachable, promptly responded to all our questions online.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed at this place for Christmas holidays in 2017. It is of perfect size for a couple and close to Kailua beach. It is not close enough for walk as you’d navigate through 2-3 layers of residential housings before getting to the beach. Very quiet at night and relaxing. You can have easy access to any part of the island from here if you rent a car, which you are supposed to do to get here in the first place.

The book of information Laura put together for guests is very helpful. It was perfect for my husband and seven year old to enjoy some quiet time to ourselves.

The location was perfect for getting to the beach or downtown Kailua, the bed was comfortable, the apartment was spacious, clean, and filled with everything we needed including beach towels and even a cooler which was great for the beach! Really loved having access to a washer and dryer as we still had 6 more days of travel after leaving Laura’s. The town of Kailua is amazing and Laura provided tips of some of her favorite places. Just wish we had time to visit all of them.

Jun 27, 2019Laura's place was clean, comfortable, and a good amount of space for a multiple day beach vacation. Plenty of closet and lounging space and a set-off bedroom. It also has a kitchenette with small oven and stove (unlike some places that just have hot plates) and a small gas grill which was helpful. However, the kitchen tools are pretty limited, as is the beach gear, so I suggest you ask if you plan to rely on specific items for either cooking or beach outings. Check-in was easy and there is off-street parking, which is nice. The proximity to the beach is excellent - about an 8 to 10-minute walk. And Kailua town and Lanikai beach are absolutely the best place to stay on Oahu if you like calm, uncrowded swimming beaches and a laid back beach town vibe.
Jun 27, 2019Laura's place is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. The location is close to the beach, easy walking distance. The outside shower is useful although both inside and outside showers take a long time to get hot water. The kitchen is not fully equipped but it's not an issue if you plan to mostly eat out. Laura was quick to get a few kitchen items for me upon my request. She was good at communicating.
Jun 27, 2019This place is really cool inside. There is a lot of room and everything that a couple could need. It's very quiet and cozy and the art/tile is really cool. It's a two block walk to the beach so stock up on some food and hang out for a few days.
Jun 27, 2019We loved all the little amenities, like the boogie board, the needle and thread, and the bug spray. I loved that it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. My daughter loved catching geckos in the yard and making her own leis out of fallen flowers around the neighborhood. Laura was very accommodating and made check-in and check-out a breeze.
Jun 27, 2019Wonderful location and very private living quarters. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower, the close walk to the very amazing beach and the quiet peace of the space. The outdoor eating area was wonderful in the morning for coffee and birdsong. I hope we can come back again!

Jun 27, 2019Laura’s home is in a great location, just a few blocks from the beach. They had a great new beach umbrella and plenty of beach towels. Check in was easy, and best of all check out was later in the day so we could sleep in :-) The home is mostly tile and very artistically done, but you need to be careful if you get your feet wet. Kitchen is minimal, but practical. Lovely place and close by to the beach. We do recommend.
Jun 27, 2019We loved the quiet neighbourhood beach area. It was close to great food, grocery stores and an easy walk to a big beach. This side of the island was lush and green with dramatic views of the mountains yet it only was 30min to the airport! The house itself was spacious, clean, bright and very comfortable.

Jun 27, 2019Laura’s place was really great. The apartment was very spacious and bright. We loved the colorful tile accents. We also enjoyed the outdoor shower and the easy to access the washer and dryer. We were looking for something in a quiet neighborhood and it was perfect for that. It was away from the busy streets and beaches of Honolulu, but not too remote. We were able to explore the island very easily from there. Restaurants, grocery stores and other shops were a quick drive away. The beach is Kailua is beautiful and not so crowded.

Jun 27, 2019This space was as described and I came to appreciate it more as I saw our friends very cramped accommodations. You could reach the beach within a 4 minute walk if you did not want to hunt for parking at Kailua Beach State Park. I used the shaded outside patio space to read and work. Deluxe cable package provided access to 300+ channels and A/C worked great. Curtains and sliding doors enhanced privacy. Washer and dryer, wheeled cooler and umbrellas and guest book with tips for reaching closest beach were all appreciated and used. I'd recommend this for anyone who values privacy. We only bumped into Laura and her husband once. Also appreciated the complimentary food items, including Kona coffee in the freezer, some spices and a few beverages left over from prior tenant. Would definitely rent again if Laura would have us. Mahalo.
Jun 27, 2019Laura’s place was very clean, especially the sheets, blankets, and towels. Everything was well organized. The abundance of beach towels was a big plus. The local guide was really helpful as well. We had full privacy and didn’t see Laura in person, but she was responsive through emails. I will recommend Laura’s property to other travelers.

Jun 27, 2019This was our second stay at Laura’s place. It’s perfect for our needs. The kitchen and barbecue allow us to cook almost all of our meals. Its very quiet, very private, and it’s only a very short walk to the beach. The TV, cable/DVR, and WiFi worked great. We hope to stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Kailua Cottage looks exactly like it is depicted in the on-line photos. It is nicely decorated with custom made tiles. The space worked well for 3 people. The futon was made into a twin bed and that space had a curtain that made it feel like another bedroom. We loved the easy walk to a beautiful beach with an equally beautiful sunrise!
Jun 27, 2019This space was as advertised. Close walk to beach. Maybe 5 minutes. Had everything you would need. Very easy coming and going. Private. The outdoor shower is a little exposed to neighbors so can’t truly replace the indoor shower but I loved the convenience of the location. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. Definitely eat breakfast at over easy and skip Mokes. It’s a tourist trap with bad food. Also good local places for fried rice or Kim Chee fried rice were the times and big city diner.
Jun 27, 2019Laura’s place is beautiful. It’s location is in the middle of everything ( kailua beach and stores) . Our 2 y/o daughter had a great time with our stay. It is spacious and clean. There are many choices with the cable channels.We have everything that we need especially in the kitchen that is fully equipped. Thank God the hurricane missed us and we were able to enjoy the beaches. Lanikai beach is the best. We would definitely stay there again with our next Oahu vacation. Mahalo!

Jun 27, 2019Kailua cottage is a great place from which to stage your activities while visiting Oahu. The cottage is centrally located in Kailua providing quick access to local shopping areas and to other well know beaches on the windward side (Kalama, Kailua, Lanikai, Waimanalo, Bellows AFB). The kitchen is fully equipped for the times when you want to eat in. It has a washer and dryer, and outside shower. The unit can be opened to take advantage of natural ventilation from tradewinds, but also has adequate A/C and fans if needed otherwise. Not only is it a few minutes walk to Kalama beach, it also comes equipped with many of the beach-items you need during your visit (towels, chairs, umbrellas, cooler, boogy-boards, outside shower, etc.). The windward side of the island is beautiful, and from Kailua cottage you can easily get to the north shore or even the leeward parts of the island when you desire.

We were also an easy mile walk from a grocery store and restaurants. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a nice backyard, gas grill, and a washer/dryer. Laura was there when we needed her for a question or a need, but provided us with our space. We would definitely stay again!

We were able to spend a lot of time at the beach because of the convenient location! We were very comfortable and appreciated the amount of space we had! This was a great place to stay while visiting Kailua and we would definitely stay again next time!

Jun 27, 2019This is a fabulous AirBnB! It's bright and airy, has it's own patio area, is meticulously clean and is only a short walk to the beach. Laura provided everything we needed, including all the beach necessities like chairs, floats and a rolling cooler. We will definitely stay here again!

Jun 27, 2019Laura was very friendly and responsive. Check in was super easy and the place was clean and exactly like the pictures. My only annoyance about the place was that the fridge was quite loud. It was a quiet residential area, but an easy drive into town if you need anything. The walk to the beach was short, though you do have to cross a couple roads and there's no crosswalks. At certain times of day you had to wait a while to find a break in traffic to cross. The booklet in the room with local tips was very helpful. Overall a great stay.
Jun 27, 2019Everything was great at Laura's place! The bedroom closes off completely and creates really a separate room which is great with 2 people when only one wants to sleep. We also loved having a real kitchen with stove and space to cook, private shady seating outdoors, and the big shower in the bathroom. We rented bikes from a local shop and were able to take bike paths from Laura's place to Kailua Beach Park and Lanikai Beach. Having bike paths the entire way was great! If we stay in Kailua again, we will definitely want to stay at Laura's.

Jun 27, 2019한국인 후기가 없어서 작성해요. 일단 깨끗한 타일바닥에 높은 천장이라 좋았고 밝은 등이 많이 달려있어서 생활하기 편해요(눈이침침하지 않습니다ㅋ) 그리고 무엇보다 모든 곳(침실, 거실, 심지어 화장실까지)에 팬이 설치되어 있어서 시원하고 꿉꿉하지 않아 좋았어요. 수납공간도 많습니다. 체크인부터 체크아웃까지 호스트랑 만날 일이 없이 개인적으로 집을 사용 할 수 있고(하지만 옆에 살고 있다고 해요ㅋ) 가장 좋았던 것은 무척 무척 청결해요.(작은 벌레가 있다고 하는데 앞에 정원이 있기 때문에 당연한 거 같고 큰 문제가 되지는 않습니다) 7살 딸과 함께 여행을 했는데 침실의 큰 침대는 우리부부가 사용하고 코너의 작은 침대는 딸이 사용했어요.(작고 아담해서 딸이 무척 만족스러워 했고, 작은 책상도 딸 차지였습니다) 뒷뜰에 작은 정원과 식탁도 게스트 개인적으로 사용 가능하고, 원한다면 BBQ도 할 수 있어요.(저는 사용 안했지만) 세탁 세제를 제외한 모든 것이 다 갖춰져있어요 (물놀이 용품, 파라솔, 수건과, 샤워용품, 전자렌지, 화력좋은 전기레인지, 타파통, 간단한 조미료, 젓가락을 제외한 도구들과 식기들...) 세탁기와 건조기도 있어요. 카라마 비치까지는 걸어서 가면 16분 정도 걸리던데 대부분의 한국 분들은 준비물이 많기 때문에ㅋ 차로 이동하시면 카일루아나 래니카이 비치 등 5분안에 갈 수 있을 거에요(카라마는 넓고 한적해서 좋은데 파도가 좀 있어서 카일루아나 래니카이가 아이랑 놀기엔 좋더라고요) 한줄평:호스트와 마주칠 일 없이 깨끗하게 지낼 수 있다. 별점 5개
Jun 27, 2019We needed a convenient place to stay while visiting family in Kailua. This place did not disappoint! It was a short walk to our family's home and an easy 1 mile walk to Kailua. The space was well-decorated with really cool ceramic touches on the floors and countertops. It was pretty quiet (a bit of street noise in the morning) and we were very comfortable. Laura provided a cooler and all the gear we needed at the beach. She responded very quickly to my inquiries. Would definitely stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019Laura was a very accommodating and responsive host. When we asked for a couple of items that were missing or in poor condition, she delivered them right away. As depicted in the photos, the rental is spacious and bright, with lovely ceramic designs embedded in floors and doors. Many toiletries, and other supplies are provided. Unfortunately there is a neighbour right beside the unit's bedroom window who starts coughing/hacking very loudly every morning about 6; nothing Laura can do about that, but it was very annoying and future renters may want to be aware (maybe bring earplugs?). The walk to the beach is a little long if you're carrying beach equipment; we preferred to drive to Kailua Beach Park instead as it had more shade available.
