Neighborhood Overview
We live at the entrance to a cul de sac in a peaceful oceanside residential neighborhood with private beach access 100 steps from our house, shared only with our neighbors. Our neighbors are friendly and we all know one another. Our home is along the main road, at the entrance to the cul de sac. There is road noise from cars driving by, something to consider if you are sensitive to neighborhood noises.
Notes
Mokuleia is on the more remote end of the North Shore and offers something for everyone: hiking to Kaʻena Natural Area Reserve home to the native endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal which you can observe (from a distance!), Laysan Albatross, tide pools, rare native coastal plants, and a breathtaking view to the other side of the island at the end of the hike. Kealia Hike offers a switch back ascent, with breath taking views of the entire coastline. Picnic at a Sunday Polo Match during polo season (April 10-Sept 4). The Mokuleia Polo Field is footsteps from the studio. Dillingham Airfield, 1 minute down the road, offers adrenalin junkies skydiving with breath taking views of Mt. Kaʻala and the coast. Or just relax on any of the Mokuleia beaches nearby.
Transit
We highly recommend a car as we are 10 minutes from Haleiwa Town the main hub where you will find a variety of restaurants, food trucks, boutiques, art galleries, and a grocery store. Waialua a smaller community five minutes away, has a local coffee shop, pizzeria, small grocery store with lots of fresh produce, Saturday Farmers' Market at the Old Sugar Mill, and the Waialua Bandstand were you can enjoy a Sunday performance the first Sunday of each month by local and national performers. There is also a post office and gas station. The airport is 45 minutes away.
Access
Your will have your own private studio that is attached but separate to our house, there are no shared ceilings/floors. You will have a private lanai, and yard. There is a shared walkway that leads to your own private entrances to the studio. You will have access to the studio through a lock box. We enjoy meeting our guests if the opportunity arises, and I am always available by text.

We had such a lovely stay at Kelly's place and could not have asked for cleaner, or more comfortable accommodation for our stay on the beautiful north shore. The generous space is completely private and fully equipped with everything you will need. The kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge are all spacious and Kelly was excellent at giving directions and informations and made us feel very welcome with lovely finishing touches! The apartment is brand new. Everything is finished to a high standard and extremely tidy and comfortable. The outdoor deck was a lovely space to relax and eat dinner and the private beach at the end of the street is beyond perfect... This was our final air bnb stop after 3 months of travels and one of the best by far. Navigating the area is simple (we did rent a car in Honolulu) and this is the best spot to explore the island from. Stunning local beaches and eateries - you will just love this place.
Jun 27, 2019The pictures actually do not do this place justice. The studio was much larger, more modern, and cleaner than I anticipated. The owners provided a fabulous folder with information, suggestions about things to do, and a fresh pineapple! This studio was wonderful!

The location is very private with a short drive to a ton of cute shops and beaches. Loved our stay will definitely be back.

Jun 27, 2019Kelly is absolutely amazing! The home was exactly as it was pictured! Kelly thought of everything you may have forgotten, like Q-tips! The bed is comfortable and the living room is huge! Kelly left a binder for us with local restaurants, attractions, and grocery stores, which was really helpful. We loved that there was a grill! We were able to go food shopping and cook our own meals! We will definitely be staying here again!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay at Kelly's place. The house has everything one needs. The private beach is a huge plus but you definitely need a rental car to get arround. The only complaint we have is about the bed, it's rather small and uncomfortable which I guess is subjective. Thank you Kelly for making the last part of our trip great!

Having the beach at the end of the street was also a huge bonus! The studio was very spacious and very clean. There was always a timely response from Kelly and upon arrival great suggestions for things to do and restaurants to try, very helpful! Thank you Kelly - we will definitely be back to the North Shore!

Beautifully furnished home that is right next to a beautiful beach! Also loved how Kelly provides beach necessities, such as chairs, towels, etc. Couldn't have asked for a better spot!

We appreciated the books on local plants and birds/fish, the well equipped kitchen & BBQ and the beach towels, chairs and snorkeling equipment. You do need your own car to get there and if you want to explore the area or go to stores and restaurants. Kelly is the best host! she was very responsive, offered suggestions on local attractions etc. She made us feel very welcome.

Kelly was great to work with, very responsive as a host and very clear with information and directions. We had a great stay!
Jun 27, 2019Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The Airbnb is located at the corner of a quite nice family neighborhood and a block away from a small beach with soft sand and many sea turtles. Such a beautiful place to escape to the country from the city. We would definitely stay here again! ALOHA Kelly!
Jun 27, 2019My husband and i had a FANTASTIC time at Kelly's studio in Mokuleia. The photos do not do it justice. It was spotless and had everything we needed. The location was exactly what we were looking for; secluded, almost private feeling beach, but not a far drive to Haleiwa, where we dined each evening. Prior to our arrival, Kelly was kind enough to suggest local hikes and activities, which we took advantage of and they did not dissapoint. The dole pineapple and Maui onion chips upon arrival were such a nice and unexpected treat. The AC in the bedroom was also a life saver. When we head back to Oahu (we are already looking at tickets) we hope to find Kelly's studio available:)
Jun 27, 2019This place is incredible. It was clean, close to the beach, and had so much space. Checking in and out was super easy, and we had no issues. Kelly has chairs, towels, snorkels, everything you could need for successful relaxation on the beach. We would totally come stay again.
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I loved staying at Kelly's place. It was so homey and comfortable. Very clean and spacious. The location is the best in the area in my opinion. It was close to the north west area of Oahu and Kaenea Point which is gorgeous and has a remote feel to it. Beautiful, rugged and uncrowded sandy beaches. And away from the busier places in that area. Kelly was a joy to work with! Thanks!

The little touches like the sun chairs, beach towels and snorkelling gear were a huge bonus. The beach at the end of the street was also amazing, a little piece of paradise. Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Kelly's place on the first leg of our honeymoon. It was a very well appointed apartment on a cul-de-sac at the end of which is the beach. We found the beach gorgeous and very quiet. The surf was quite calm the days we were here, and we enjoyed going in the water. The street is residential, with no tourists around, creating exactly the ambiance my wife and I were looking for. There were lots of friendly dogs belonging to the neighbours greeting us as we walked to and from the beach, which my wife loved. Kelly was an extremely attentive hostess, and our stay was great. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Jun 27, 2019Kellys place is awesome! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we could not have been more pleased. Kelly was the perfect mix of informative and helpful, but also gave us plenty of privacy. The house was so clean, had everything we needed, and was super comfortable. The beach was perfect and was almost always empty during the day (we even saw turtles there!). There were great places to eat in town about ten minutes away, and was where we spent most of our time apart from the beach. If you're looking for an quiet and secluded place with fantastic beach access, this is for you!

A much less touristy part of the north shore. The house was perfect -- lovely deck, full kitchen, very nice bathroom, comfortable bedroom (which was nicely cooled by the portable AC). Kelly did so many little extras which just made our stay even better. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Jun 27, 2019My wife and I stayed here as our second stop on a whirlwind 10th anniversary trip to Vegas and 3 Hawaiian islands. The studio is beautiful, and has everything you could need to feel like a home away from home. It's steps from a beautiful secluded beach, which we enjoyed with the snorkeling and beach gear that Kelly provides for the use of her guests. The "studio" itself is really a large one-bedroom apartment with a separate entry and is completely private, and is larger than even the pictures make it seem. We thoroughly enjoyed the private yard and lanai, and used both the grill and kitchen to prepare our breakfast and dinner regularly throughout our stay. They even allow use of an on-site washer and dryer which was hugely helpful given we were mid-way through our vacation. The location in the north shore is amazing, and just a short drive from Haleiwa which has some great stores and restaurants, and not far from Waimea Bay and some amazing beaches, and is a short, 40 minute drive from Honolulu. Kelly offered great tips about local hikes and places to visit, and was very helpful when asked. We briefly bumped into her husband and son as well who were very friendly and offered some great tips as well. I can't recommend the studio or hosts enough. If we ever find ourselves back on Oahu, I would book again without hesitation!
Jun 27, 2019Stayed at Kelly's place for my honeymoon recently. It was super easy to check in and check out. We stayed at the North Shore to avoid the craziness of the city life. There were so many nice things to do within close distance like Waimea Falls, Waimea Beach, delicious places to eat, and great places to hike. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying at Oahu for a more laid back type of setting to get home and relax after a day exploring the island. :)

Not only is Kelly's place immaculately clean, she is a kind and attentive host who will provide more than what is necessary to make your vacation a dream. Although there is only a portable AC unit in the bedroom, the location is worth every second. We weren't home during the day bc we were out enjoying the many things to do around the northern part of Oahu. By the time we got home, the many fans in the living area was sufficient enough to cool down my family and I. We absolutely fell in love with the neighborhood, and every area surrounding it. So if this place is available, don't pass it up! You will love it here.

Jun 27, 2019The place was very clean, fully packed with all necessary appliances for a long stay and a home-made meals. Very close to private beaches, where you will have access. Public beaches with lifeguards on duty are a bit farther, about 20 min drive North. 10 min drive to local restaurants, coffee shops and gift stores in the closest town Haleiwa. Overall, good experience.

Close to beautiful and remote beaches, a short drive to all the famous surf breaks and great places to explore and eat out. Kelly is the perfect host who went above and beyond what we were expecting. Jun 27, 2019Kelly was a wonderful host! The studio apartment is beautiful with lots of windows to let in the natural light - I think it looks even better in person than the pictures! It was well equipped and we loved all the little extras - especially the drinks and snacks that were there when we arrived. My favorite part was the deck - after a long day of sightseeing it was the perfect place to sit outside and have a drink. If we make it back to Oahu we would definitely stay there again!

It was a short drive to nearby towns, beaches, and great hikes. Kelly put together a very thoughtful information book for her guests, which I found very helpful in getting to know where to go, where to eat, and what there is to see and do. I highly recommend Kelly's place!

A qualquer instante, Kelly podia ser contactada por SMS e as respostas foram sempre rápidas! Pessoalmente, estive com ela apenas uma vez - há bastante privacidade na casa, apesar dela residir com a família no segundo andar. A casa é ainda melhor que nas fotos. Localização é ok, fica a cerca de 10-15 minutos de Haleiwa e das principais praias do North Shore. Como em qualquer local na área norte da ilha, é necessário um carro alugado! Há quase tudo que um casal ou uma família pequena precisa na casa, exceção de um forno convencional (fez um pouco de falta para a famosa pizza congelada, mas sem traumas...). O colchão do sofá-cama também não é, como esperado nesses casos, dos melhores. De resto, tudo muito bom! Equipamentos modernos, cafeteira, torradeira, mini fogão, geladeira e ar condicionado no quarto, além de muitos utensílios na cozinha. Kelly também deixou cadeiras de praia, toalhas e equipamento para snorkel à disposição. Foram muito bem vindos! Dicas foram ótimas (Website hidden by Airbnb) certeza, voltaria e me hospedaria de novo na casa da Kelly!! Recomendo!

Jun 27, 2019This was our second two-week stay in Kelly's place. We enjoyed it just as much! The house is exactly as described. It is spacious, very clean and has everything you need in the house and for the beach (towels, chairs, cooler and snorkel gear). The kitchen is well equipped if you want to dine in. The neighborhood is quiet (although you do hear some traffic noise from the main road) and the private beach just a short walk away. Kelly was always very responsive and offered many tips on local attractions. We loved the treats she offered to welcome us and the fact that there was food, coffee and tea for a first breakfast! We are planning to go back.

The house is exactly as described and picture, except actually feels bigger than it seems in the pictures. It was super clean and comfortable. A highlight was how well stocked the studio was; Not just the kitchen but beach gear and a fantastic deck/yard. The location is AMAZING – walking distance to the beautiful private beach. We loved being based in quiet, small town 10-15 minutes from shopping and attractions. I think this studio would be great for any length of stay but it is really perfect for a longer duration stay since this rental has everything you need.

Jun 27, 2019Kelly’s place was above and beyond. It was super well equipped, by that I mean not only the kitchen but the whole house. It had beach towels, snorkels, a cooler, shampoo/conditioner and soap, a barbecue, I could go on. It’s location was beautiful with an adorable town close by and beach access that was private for just a few houses. We went to this beach twice a day everyday and every night at sunset we watched turtles swim past and one night a turtle even came up on the sand to join us! Kelly’s place allowed us to have an amazing Hawaii north shore experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Kelly was a great host, she’s a local so was able to recommend places to eat and sites to see, she was able to let us check in early and responded quickly to every message.

Private neighborhood beach that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or just laying out. Kelly was very helpful with local spots and what to dos... Will definitely be using again when back in Oahu.

The place was literally by the sea, which is a private beach that you can enjoy your private time, and located in a calm area. I really recommend to stay with your partner, friends or family. You can really enjoy the local side of Hawaii!

Even better with the personal touches and facilities and quality furnishings. Kelly was great to deal with if we had any questions, but everything was very easy to sort ourselves. Such a lovely area to stay, easy to get around, some beautiful beaches minutes away. We loved Waimea Bay, Sharks cove for snorkeling and enjoyed a local beach that Kelly describes in her guide book. Would highly recommend and would definitely be back if we're ever in Hawaii again.

The neighborhood was quiet and quaint, with beach access a two minute walk. The tv broke during our stay, and although it wasn’t able to be fixed during our stay, Kelly and her husband were totally accommodating and tried their best (plus we didn’t come to Hawaii to watch tv so it wasn’t a big deal for us!).

Jun 27, 2019This place is magical! A private, large suite with everything you need and just across from a basically private beach! It’s right between the mountains and beach and everywhere you turn is a stunning view. Kelly is so welcoming and makes it all a seemless process. Definitely have a rental car to easily get into town and explore the North shore!
Jun 27, 2019We really enjoyed our stay at Kelly's! She was very communicative and very accommodating. She even went the extra mile to help me have a floral arrangement set up for my wife when we arrived! The apartment space is very comfortable and relaxing. I went out onto the private deck/yard area every morning to just wake up and enjoy the peace and quiet. Kelly even offered some things no one wants to (or can) pack for a trip.. beach towels, beach chairs and a small drink cooler. She also had basic snorkeling equipment available for our use but we had elected to bring our own.

Jun 27, 2019This wonderful place on the north shore was better than I expected. Kelly was right there to help us feel welcome. The apartment was large and so cute and inviting. There were many cute geckos running around in the yard and a huge toad was right there. The beach was very close as was stated and it was beautiful. You will need a car unless you bring lots of food with you. The stores or eating places are quite a way to get to. The place is well stocked with necessities and very clean. Kelly always got back with me if I had a question in a timely manner. The AC made for good sleeping at night. We made breakfast each morning and only had to bring the food. I would definitely recommend this nice place.
Jun 27, 2019Both the location and the guest house itself are special. You are almost at the end of the North Shore, as far from the city (Honolulu) as possible, but only a 10 minute drive to the charming town of Haleiwa where there are tourist shops, a couple of banks, Matsamoto’s Shaved Ice and a good supermarket. And when you want or need to go into the city, it’s no more than an hour drive on the freeway to anywhere in Honolulu. But the feeling there is similar to being on an outer Island. You are next to rustic, pristine beaches that stretch for miles and near world famous surfing beaches. You will see green mountains behind you, hang gliders coming in for landings nearby and rainbow filled skies. The guest house itself is thoughtfully designed, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Kelly thought of just about everything a traveler would want. She is also an excellent communicator so any issue that might come up is taken care of quickly. If you would like to experience Oahu from a different but very fresh perspective, you cannot go wrong selecting Kelly’s guest house. We really enjoyed our stay and hope we will have another opportunity to be there again.

Jun 27, 2019Highest marks in all categories-- responsiveness, hospitality, cleanliness, spaciousness... The living space is quite large (especially after a few days in a very small condo in Waikiki). Kelly provided items such as a coffee grinder at our request, and gave local recommendations. The local beach access is nice for taking a little walk and taking a dip in the ocean. I recommend the local Kealia hike (moderately strenuous) and Ka'ena Point Nature Reserve. And observing the skydivers from the airfield or the beach, and the stars at night. Of course, we also drove to other attractions on Oahu-- try to gauge the traffic, which can be heavy. The only negatives for us were that the mattress was somewhat on the soft side for us, but that's a matter of personal preference and my wife and I do have back issues... Also, though it was mostly very quiet, local fellas drove by on the main road with booming music on a few nights; one should always travel with earplugs. All in all, a super stay with great hosts. Jun 27, 2019My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and very much enjoyed Kelly’s place. It was in a great location for hiking and surfing but also close to town for dinner and açaí bowls.
