Internet, TV, kitchen, dishwasher, juicer, heater I'm happy to share my recommendations of restaurants, bars, lounges, events, museums etc. I am a busy NYker, work long hours in finance and barely in the apartment.

Kristina was very flexible about letting me in, both when I first arrived and late at night. The rest of the stay went well too. I would recommend staying with her if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep after a long day in New York.

Jul 27, 2019Le aspettative che avevo al momento della prenotazione riguardo questo soggiorno non sono corrisposte alle reali condizioni in cui mi sono ritrovata. Nell'appartamento eravamo in tre anziché in due, con la madre di Kristina. Inizialmente sono riuscita ad adattarmi ad abitudini e usi differenti dai miei, Kristina e sua madre sono state gentili nel permettermi di utilizzare il loro sale, fornirmi asciugamani puliti, prestarmi caricabatterie, sono state carine quando sono stata male, pensavo di aver instaurato un buon rapporto di convivenza, anche accettando situazioni particolari e condizioni diverse da quelle per cui avevo scelto questo alloggio, ma i successivi due mesi sono stati difficili. Ci sono state pesanti incomprensioni verbali riguardo le condizioni igieniche e pulizie, a mio parere non accettabili e per le quali non mi sono mai lamentata, ma anzi sono stata rimproverata, e sull'utilizzo degli spazi comuni e regole casalinghe. Non mi sono sentita più libera di muovermi in casa. Ultima spiacevole sorpresa è stata essere svegliata il giorno del check-out per dover lasciare la stanza in anticipo rispetto a quanto Airbnb mi aveva comunicato. Credevo Airbnb fosse un buon sistema per viaggiare, conoscere nuove persone, creare scambi culturali e magari rapporti con chi vive e conosce altre città, non è stato così e purtroppo non so se mi fiderò ancora di quel che è scritto negli annunci. Credo che per soggiorni lunghi come il mio non sia una buona opzione, ma per vacanze di pochi giorni, stando poco in casa, questo alloggio possa andar bene, è in una buona posizione, vicino alla metro Q, efficientissima, 20 minuti a piedi da Central Park e vicina ad un altro piccolo parco lungo l'East river, adatto per correre e rilassarsi, a starbucks, sempre utile e buoni supermercati. Buona fortuna e viaggio a chi va a scoprire New York, città da molte sfaccettature, ma sicuro da vivere nella sua palpabile libertà.
Jun 27, 2019A fine, comfortable bed in a clean, convenient apartment that's a good place to just stay the night, but don't expect to want to hang around. No air conditioning means it will likely be pretty hot in the summertime. Convenient to the subway (2 long blocks away), on a busy street, shops and food are nearby, as is a lovely park on the East River. Kristina is very communicative and nice, and her place is a fair price for a NYC stay in a nice neighborhood.
Jun 27, 2019It is all about guests having the right expectations and landlords being honest about what they have to offer. This place is not for everyone and you need to see if it is a suitable for you. I personally this this place is good if you: -Only stay for a short term and just need a cheap place to crash at -Do not care much for messiness -Do not care much for privacy -Can sleep easily under any circumstances Below is the pros and cons of this place. Pros: - Located in UES with many bars and restaurants around - Q line is only 5-10 min away on foot - Mattress is comfortable - Walk-in closet in the bedroom - Water pressure isn’t too bad - Rent is inexpensive (is it worth what it has to offer? It’s up to your expectations) Cons: - There is no heating system for this unit; the building controls it. It’s only automatically turned on during the winter. On the chilly nights in spring/fall, they use their gas oven in the kitchen to heat the house. (Isn’t this a safety hazard? (Hidden by Airbnb) says it run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning but they would probably say it’s been working for them well.) - There is no air conditioning system in the bedroom. Apparently it’s only in the living room and they were reluctant to turn it on when it was 84 degrees outside (that was 29th April (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , you can check the weather history). - It is misleading that they have laundry as the amenities. The building does not have washer/dryer. You’ll need to use a laundromat open for the public outside the building. It is $3 to use a small washer and $6 for a bigger one. To use dryer, it’s a 25 cents for 7 min. - It is a 1-bedroom apartment. The landlord and her mom sleep on the couch outside. She told me her mom is going to stay there only for a week. I cut my stay short before verifying this is true, but based on the review below written in italian, it seems that the mom stayed there for the whole time. Given that the landlord doesn't know how the laundromat outside works because only her mom has been doing the laundry for her, her remarks are credible. - Bath tub and bathroom sinks were clogged. But this is easily fixable. - Bathroom is quite messy but I found it tolerable. It’s really up to the individual. The italian lady down there seemed to have been not OK with that. I find the description of their listing quite misleading but I do NOT have the evidence that they intentionally try to trick people on purpose. You just need to know what the place has to offer and see if the price you’re paying is worth it. Ask the right questions and have the right expectations and you will be fine.
Jun 27, 2019Kristina was a great hostess. Super helpful and understanding. Always available if I needed anything but totally gave me my space. The apt is great, clean and comfortable. Neighborhood is very safe, easy to get around with plenty to do if you want, yet quiet enough if you don't. I strongly recommend Kristina as a hostess & her apt as well.

Jun 27, 2019This apartment was in a wonderful location, in a quiet and safe part of the city. It was close to the train, and easy to catch a cab if needed. It is on the 4th floor, so if you have a suitcase larger than a carry-on, it is a bit of a struggle to lug it up to the 4th floor. Kristina was very sweet and I enjoyed chatting with her.

I lived with her for 6 weeks and for the whole time she has always been really nice, friendly, she always gave me precious advices and helped me in case of need. Her flat is located in the Upper East Side a beautiful area, quite and safe with subway, supermarket and CVS nearby. It is close to Central Park, Met museum and with an half an hour walk also to Time Square, Rockfeller Center and many other attractions. The room has a really comfortable bed and a pretty big closet. I advice everybody to enjoy their trip at Kristina’s place she is a great host.

Jun 27, 2019Kristina is a very gracious host; always a smile. The bedroom is at the back of the building away from the street so fairly quiet. The bedroom closet has plenty of shelves and room for hanging clothes. Very nice for a stay of more than a day or two if you don't like living out of a suitcase.
Jun 27, 2019It is a really good place if you are expecting to spend a couple of days in NYC. The location is perfect, really nice neighborhood, lots of restaurants near and you can do many things by walking. The Central Park and MET museum are close to the apartment.

La chambre est confortable, un grand placard et un bureau, (il manquerait juste un miroir), la salle de bain, vieillissante mais propre. Au final le logement était conforme à mes attentes et à la description. Rapport qualité prix correct. à 3 blocs du métro et les bus devants. Je pouvais aller à pied vers Central Park ou le MET... à refaire

The location was terrific: short walk to Central Park and all sorts of connections within a short walk for public transit (buses and subways). People staying at Kristina's should be prepared to walk up to the fourth floor (i.e. relative fitness to climb 3 sets of stairs). Thank you Kristina!!
Jun 27, 2019Originally, I had wanted to stay two nights at this place and was disappointed that only one night was available. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Although I checked in during the afternoon to pick up the keys and meet Kristina, a gracious, friendly host, I did not check out the bed. As for the PROS, this place is convenient, near transpo, safe, and relatively reasonable. As for the CONS, I discovered a very old, worn, stained bottom sheet covered with pilling that felt like sandpaper, along with an old lumpy pillow that was covered on both sides by a very stained pillowcase. The lack of a top sheet increased my concern and discomfort for potential health hazards from countless guests who used the comforter in place of a top sheet. The air conditioner cools the living room, not the guest room (especially when closed for privacy), which only has small fan. The bathroom sink continues to drain very slowly as reported in May 2017 (I did not try the shower for the same reason). If the host secures new, comfortable sheets along with a new pillow for the guest bed and gets the drains cleared, I would definitely give this place more stars! It’s a great location if you want to get some exercise. Be prepared to climb 50+ steps from the street level to the 4th floor!
Jun 27, 2019Kristina was very kind and communicated quickly. Checking in and out was easy. Location was amazing! Beautiful park around the corner right on the river, and only 2 blocks away from the Q train. Streets were quiet and well lit at night. Lots of convenient stores/restaurants and a Starbucks next door. Host provided oscillating fan in room which was a nice touch. PACK LIGHT(ish) 3 sets of narrow stairs but definitely manageable. I have suggested to the host to provide a full length mirror in the bedroom, but otherwise advise you to bring your own handheld mirror if you prefer to get ready in your bedroom versus the bathroom. Great for solo travelers and short visits to the city. Looking forward to a return visit.

Jun 27, 2019Kristina’s place is great for those that are budget conscious and are looking for a safe area to stay. Her apartment is a six minute walk to one of the Q line stations where you can connect to basically anywhere you need to go in New York. Kristina also let me keep my luggage at her place for a few hours after “check out time” as I had a later flight. Thanks Kristina!

Jun 27, 2019Location was perfect for what I needed. I was exhausted when I got there so almost immediately went to sleep. I knew Kristina was there bc she greeted me, but never heard her. Gloriously quiet in the city that never sleeps. It’s a 4th floor walkup, so be mindful if you have bad knees or heavy luggage.

Jun 27, 2019I would never stay there again. I slept there three night and I couldn't wait to wake up to get out. I had to be at work for 8am 10 minutes walk, I made sure to leave by 6:15AM. Horibble and then both her and her mother slept on the couch in the livingroom. The bedroom had not AC just a small fan. But the livingroom was freezing because that is where the AC was. She mentioned that it had AC, not in the room only livingroom. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Especially she did not tell me that her mom was there for the week until I arrive and saw the host the second night.

Although I came in late the nights I was there, you couldn't tell that there was anyone else in the apartment. Kristina is very quick with responding to your messages and does her best to accommodate. The location was only a few blocks from the metro station and the area is relatively quiet.

You will be staying at close quarters with Kristina and the flat is small but that's NYC and for the price it is good. (I'd booked 3 nights but my plans changed and I only stayed 1).

Jun 27, 2019Tudo meio esquisito. Parece uma acumuladora: quarto meia-boca com um ótimo colchão. Dormi bem, não posso negar! Inclusive o local era silencioso. Mas o armário do quarto era cheio de cabides velhos de arame(contei uns 50). A cama estava com lençóis e fronha USADOS. Reclamei, EU troquei os lençóis e mandei lavar a fronha numa lavanderia, Banheiro aparentemente limpo, cheio de tranqueiras(restos de xampu, sabonetes e produtos de limpeza) . Contei uns 60 frascos,Tampa do vaso gasta, cortina do box cheia de limo Preto na base. Três andares de escada, tudo bem! Mas escada de carpet sujo de pêlos imensos de cachorros imensos. Comunicação com a anfitriã: não houve, apesar dela dormir na sala, em frente ao banheiro disponível. Tudo ali parece fake, exceto a cama que dormi. Não recomendo

Jun 27, 2019Overall great place when price considered, but you get what you pay for. Location is terrific, room itself could use some work. Host was non-existent during the day, but her mother (who slept on the living room couch with the host at night) let me in and was cordial.

She hosted my sister in law while I was in another apartment, so I've never met her, but she was really kind and approachable and an excellent communicator! Recommended to young travellers. Price absolutely very convenient for NYC.

Jun 27, 2019日本語を話す方へ向けて日本語でのﾚﾋﾞｭｰを残します｡ 単独滞在者向けの物件の多くがｿﾌｧﾍﾞｯﾄﾞにｶｰﾃﾝなどで仕切られた簡易の個室であることに対し､鍵付きの個室とｸｲｰﾝｻｲｽﾞのﾍﾞｯﾄﾞが用意されているお宅だったので快適に過ごすことができました｡ Qﾗｲﾝの最寄駅から5分ほど､ｾﾝﾄﾗﾙﾊﾟｰｸ及びMETまで10分以内と立地条件も大満足でした｡ 面している通りも静かで文句なしです｡ 州内からの週末旅行として滞在したので荷物は機内持ち込み可能ｻｲｽﾞのｷｬﾘｰﾊﾞｯｸﾞのみで問題は無かったのですが､長期の旅行で大きなｽｰﾂｹｰｽの場合はお宅まで階段で上がらざるを得ないので御注意なさると良いかと思います(ﾏﾝﾊｯﾀﾝのｱﾊﾟｰﾄの多くは､ｴﾚﾍﾞｰﾀｰが無いので似た条件でｴﾚﾍﾞｰﾀｰ付きのお宅を見つけるのは至難ですが…)｡
Jun 27, 2019It's not a luxurious building or apartment, but I had my own bedroom, a big bed, access to everything I needed including wi-fi, and the place is reasonably quiet and well-located. Kristina was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. Since her mother was also around, it was easy to check in whenever I wanted to. The place is a small one-bedroom apartment. When I stayed there, I got the bedroom while Kristina and her mother slept on the living room couch. All in all, reasonable accommodations for the price.

Jun 27, 2019The bedroom was fine. I didn’t realize that Kristina would be sleeping in living room, but it was not a problem. Also, 4th Floor walk up is somewhat difficult with luggage and if you have trouble with steps. Location was great for the Met, Central Park etc.
Jun 27, 2019I have read on other reviews that her mom was there for vacations, well she was still there. The place smelled bad, and the shower curtain was all moldy and the bathroom was just not pleasant.
