If you are visiting the Volcanoes National Park with your family, this is a great house with a perfect location. From the front porch to the Halema'uma'u overlook was just 7 minutes. With the park open 24 hours, we'd jump in the car and go watch the rise and fall of the volcano lake anytime we felt the urge. Late night viewing was the best...beautiful, so quiet we could hear the eruption and all to ourselves.

Jun 27, 2019Hale Ohia is an absolute gem. Nestled on a cozy, private yet accessible lot in the Volcano Golf Estates--this house has everything you'd need for a cozy Volcano getaway. The pictures really do not do this place justice. The Master Bedroom is huge and lovely. The gas fireplace was my favorite feature as I had thought I preferred wood-burning fireplaces...that is until Hale Ohia converted me to the ease and instant warmth of the gas fireplace! We spent all three days exploring the Volcano National Park, discovered a charming restaurant in Volcano Village called Ohelo Cafe (5 stars on (Hidden by Airbnb) ), the fun Thai Food Truck at the Cooper Center and more! The cleanliness of this house was outstanding and had all the creature comforts you can dream of. Every morning we awoke to the sounds of native birds chirping and enjoyed the cool, brisk morning air during our morning walks. I could go on and on and on...I loved this place that much! Book this gem!
Jun 27, 2019We really enjoyed our stay at Jeff's house. It was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything you could ever need. The neighborhood is very quiet and only 5 minutes away from the Volcano National Park. Jeff was also very quick to respond to any of our questions, usually replying within minutes. I highly recommend.
Jun 27, 2019The house is situated less than 5 minutes to the Volcano Park and the Volcano Village where you can get great food for lunch and dinner. Our family (5 grown up) loves the backyard, very tranquil. We were from Florida and spent 7 nights at Honolulu before flying to Hilo. We spent two nights and extended a late checkout for the third day as we took the red-eye home. We were so glad we paid a little more for the extension, as we can relax our last day of vacation and had a bite before heading to the airport. The house is very clean, comfortable beds and well equipped, provided everything like a hotel plus more. They even provided beach mats and cooler, barbecue grill and coal. Coffee and tea are also available. The full size washer and dryer is a bonus so we even can have clean laundry going home. The owner Jeff is very responsive, every time I asked a questions, I pretty much got an answer within minutes. Not sure how he did it as we have 6 hours different in our time zone. Love this house and should we come back to Hilo, this is the house we want to rent again.....
Jun 27, 2019This place is a tranquil retreat in volcano village. With just a few minutes to the national park the location was great if you are planning to explore there. Jeff had excellent communication and he was always quick to reply.
Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay and wished we had stayed one more night. The beds are very comfortable. We were minutes away from Hawaii Volcano National Park and the town of Volcano. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, perfect for sleeping in. We were glad to have a washer and dryer after traveling for a week.
Jun 27, 2019Great location only 5 minutes from the Volcano National Park and a local winery. Well equipped, quiet and very comfortable. Make sure you gas up and have groceries bought before you get there as it is a small community. It was beyond perfect for our family of 6.

Jun 27, 2019The house was a perfect place to stay in order to easily explore Volcano National Park. The location was very convenient, only a few minutes drive away from the gate. We loved the house with its well spaced out bedrooms. It was perfect for the two kids and two adults. The living room was very cozy with the fireplace there to warm up as it does cool down a little bit in the evenings. The house was a bit chilly so if you get cold easily you might want to bundle up and put an extra blanket on. (And there were extra blankets!) The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped. We even brought things that we didn’t really need such as oil and salt and pepper and some basics for cooking. There were even extra water bottles that we were able to borrow when we went hiking in the park. Everything was thought of. Definitely the perfect place to stay for those people who are spending time in the park and (Website hidden by Airbnb) was perfect for the kids and ourselves. The only drawback is that in Volcano Village there really isn’t much around. You need to make sure that you have purchased groceries before you arrive. We did our shopping in Kona and in a small town on our way to Volcano. If you are coming from Hilo you will want to do your groceries there before you get to Volcano. I highly recommend this place. It was perfect!
Jun 27, 2019Jeff's home was beautiful. Very relaxing, clean, amazing location. We had a blast and the only thing I'd change is that we stayed longer. This airBnB was great!!! We will be back. Jeff also gave us great pointers on the area and was very responsive. Can't wait till our next visit.
Jun 27, 2019The house was exactly as pictured and in a fantastic location. The host was very communicative and the instructions were great. We found the house very comfortable and clean. There was a slight musty odor since the climate is so humid. This is a perfect place to stay while exploring Hilo and Volcano National Park.
Jun 27, 2019This is a beautiful home! It's plenty spacious for any family or group of friends traveling to the Volcano area. It's located in such a peaceful/serene area and so easy to enjoy Volcano State Park to it's fullest. We had a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this home!!

Jun 27, 2019Nice place to stay for family, clean, quiet and comfortable. Close by volcano national park, about 30 miles away from Punalu'u Beach and probably another 15 miles to Papakōlea Beach. If I will ever come back visit big island, will for sure stay here again. Thanks Jeff!

Jun 27, 2019Great spot near Volcano National Park and the small town of Volcano. Easy to find and perfect place to hang out. It can get chillier in that altitude, so just use the space heaters if you're there during winter. Was a perfect place to spend a couple days to be closer to Hilo & the park. Awesome!
