Around Casa Flores good wine, good food, the most traditional products and all the essentials, the best view, the romantic walks and the main touristic landmarks are guaranteed. Still it is also a quiet residential area, accessible, in the heart of Old Gaia, 10 minutes walking distance from Porto historical centre and 30 minutes away from the beach by public transport. In the streets that surround Casa Flores you will smell the aroma of the worldwide famous nectar, Port Wine. If your going for a tasting you just need to walk out the front door and go for a few metres to the most renowned cellars: Offley, Sandeman, Calém, Ferreirinha, etc. And if you enjoy good food as much as good wine try the typical restaurants in the neighbouring streets. Or you can always buy some genuine produce in the grocery stores next door, take it home and cook your own portuguese inspired meal.

Transit
We suggest that you walk and explore the surroundings, go across the river through the D. Luiz I bridge, get on the old tram to the beach in Porto or get a bus to the beaches in Gaia. You can also enjoy the view over the city by cablecar. Our location is perfect to travel by bus, boat or walking. And if you want to go a little bit further you can also get a train (10 minutes walking distance) and discover other precious gems in the region.

The apartment that is located on the south bank and very close to the river and the famous bridge but located in some small street so it is quieter. It was comfortable and clean. Gisela was kind and gave me some advice about the city.
Jun 27, 2019Gisela has been an amazing host and her flat is incredibly cute. It is in an old building that has belonged to her family for a long time, and it has been renovated very well and with taste. The room is cosy but it has everything you would need for a few days stay. We arrived at 2 am because our flight was late and Gisela waited for us to welcome us.. She has been really professional and extremely kind, making us feel at home and being there for us all the time. The flat is on the south bank of the river, where the port wineries are, but really close to the city centre. Plus it's a very nice walk to do in the morning and it takes about 8-10 mins max. I would definitely come here again and I loved my stay, thanks Gisela!
Jun 27, 2019Gisela's place is wonderful and newly renovated so everything is very clean. Although I didn't meet Gi myself, she was very friendly and helpful in our messages. Her lovely cousin Joana met me at the place and was really kind and helpful. The room itself had almost everything I needed for my stay with lots of additional treats such as sample of local wine! The area is right next to the river front of Vila Nova de Gaia and all the sights but is in a quiet side street so you get the convenience of a quiet nights sleep and easy access to beautiful views. I had no issues and would thoroughly recommend :)

Jun 27, 2019First of all, Gisela is the loveliest and most interesting person! Checking in was a breeze, the directions given for the trip from the airport were simple to follow and accurate and she was waiting for us when we got there. Gisela gave us the best recommendations for places to eat in Porto! The studio itself is exactly as shown in the pictures. It was very clean, new and everything was in working order. The bed was very comfortable. We note that our unit was on the 2nd floor and the steps were a bit uneven but manageable. The windows let in alot of light (which I loved). The shower had sufficient volume and power and everything worked and was in good condition. Would highly recommend this place for 2 persons on a short break! The area is very close to the river and but is just off to one side and very quiet!
Jun 27, 2019Bonito apartamento bien situado. A 5min de la Rivera de oporto por el imponente puente Luis I, Pero muy tranquilo. Aunque es pequeño, tiene todo lo necesario para una escapada de varios días. Anfitriona atenta y muy simpática, fue flexible en horarios de entrada y salida.
Jun 27, 2019Very nice stay. We checked in late without any Problems. Gisela was very kind and helpful. The flat was small but very clean and had everything you need. The flat is near of many wine cellars and near to the river. Nevertheless it was very quiet in the street so we could sleep well. All in all a lovely shelter for two people.
Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay at Porto. Formally, it's not exactly Porto, but that's even better since you'll always have a beautiful view to Porto and be close to portwine cellars! It is really good located too: not so far away from the historical centre of the Porto and pretty quiet and cozy at the same time. Gisela was very helpful and made a great introduction to the city! We'll definitely recommend this place!

Jun 27, 2019Que dire sur notre expérience chez Gisela si ce n'est que tout était parfait. Elle nous a chaleureusement accueilli le premier jour, avec une multitude de bons plans pour visiter au mieux Porto. Elle est d'une grande gentillesse et toujours là en cas de problème ou si l'on souhaite plus d'informations au cours du séjour. Pour ce qui est de l'appartement, il est parfait pour un weekend prolongé à deux. Très propre et très bien situé, le quartier est très agréable, à deux minutes à peine des rives du Douro et de la vue splendide sur le coeur de Porto. Bref je vous conseille de foncer chez Gisela pour une belle expérience dans cette charmante ville.

Her place is in a wonderful setting, within easy walking distance of everything you'd want to see in Porto. Really clean flat, and Gisela was also able to help out with my early check-in and request to leave my bags at hers for the morning we checked out. Absolutely perfect place to stay for a weekend in Porto, thanks very much!
Jun 27, 2019Perfect little studio if you want to visit the port wineries. They're all within easy walking distance. The studio is very well taken care of and has a kitchenette if you wanted to stay in and cook. Everything was very clean and adorable. We would definitely stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Kaunis ja siisti asunto hyvällä sijainnilla kaikkien portviinikellareiden lähellä. Pienestä keittiöstä löytyi kaikki tarpeellinen aamiaisen syömiseen ja Wi-Fi toimi erinomaisesti. Lähellä rannassa paljon ravintoloita ja sillan yli pääsee kätevästi toiselle puolelle Portoa. Suosittelen lämpimästi!

Jul 27, 2019Posto assolutamente raccomandato, una permanenza meravigliosa! L'alloggio è veramente curato in ogni dettaglio e la pulizia è eccellente. È fornito di un angolo cottura per chi volesse prepararsi qualcosa da mangiare a casa. Quando si arriva tutto è preparato per farti sentire a casa, nulla è lasciato al caso! Comodissimo per visitare le cantine, e comunque molto comodo anche per visitare il centro storico. Gisel offre ottimi consigli su cosa visitare e dove andare a mangiare, è la Host ideale!

Jun 27, 2019We had a perfect time at Gisela's place. Apartament is big enough for 2. Very cosy and sweet. We even get a welcome drink;) we recommend this place for couples for a romantic stay. Good location, next to restaurants and wineries but not in the noisy city center.

Jun 27, 2019A lovely clean and beautifully decorated studio among the port cellars. A couple of minutes walk from all the action in front of Cruz and Sandeman, the cable car and the river taxi, yet nice and quiet at night. Gi made us feel very welcome and catered for our early arrival.

Jun 27, 2019This flat is even more charming than the town of Porto! I went with my husband for a quick weekend visit. We could literally live in history, because the walls of the flat (and the stairs leading to the door) were actually several hundred years old, which were matched with excellent taste for the rest of the décor. Every detail was stylish and sweet - I loved the way the wifi password was "published" :) The flat is well-equipped, you can really find everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. It's a pity we couldn't meet Gisela in person, but maybe next time! :)

Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay here! Gisela was the most amazing host, welcoming us in person with great tips and a lovely local gift on arrival. The location was close to the wine cellars and waking distance to the rest of the city. The studio felt brand new, it was warm, and extremely clean and tidy and made us feel at home. We would definitley stay here again, highly recommend!

Jun 27, 2019Gisela’s place is fantastic, right in the middle of Porto. The place was very clean and nice furnitured. The river with amazing restaurants was just 3min by foot. A beautiful comfortable spot to rest with a quality not offten seen. I would highly recomend it!
Jun 27, 2019Appartement ravissant, d'une grande propreté et surtout extrêmement bien situé: proximité de tout sans les inconvénients (rue calme). Bars, commerces, Douro et centre ville sont à 2 pas. La propriétaire est charmante, très accueillante et s'est rendue très disponible. Petit point à améliorer, l'absence de mobilier de rangement dans la chambre (commode et/ou penderie). Par ailleurs, dans ce petit immeuble de 3 niveaux, l'isolation est médiocre: nous entendions les voisins du dessus (pas, voix, aspirateur,...) et ceux du dessous ont dû nous entendre.
Jun 27, 2019Le logement de Gisela était très propre, joliment décoré avec l’essentiel (petite cuisine...etc) et bien placé pour une visite de Porto :proche des caves à visiter et à moins de 10 minutes du quartier de la Ribeira par une balade très agréable (super vue!) Gisela était disponible par message et très réactive :)

We found the studio spotlessly clean and checking in was easy Staircase was quite steep and floor noise from above studio quite disturbing. Other than that quite a lovely cozy place to stay .

Even though the studio is tiny, it’s cozy and clean and equipped with everything you need. Gisela is a great host. We had the possibility to check in whenever we wanted to. She also responded really quick to any questions we had. I can warmly recommend this place if you are looking for a romantic little studio in the heart of city.

Jun 27, 2019A fantastically located apartment if you want to visit the port cellars. Lots of dining options available, including establishments right by the water. The apartment and area of Gaia does require some physical self-sufficiency. Stairs can be steep for some and you will need to do some walking to get to the actual town of Porto. Photos accurately depicted this clean and obviously recently renovated space. Gisela is a super host and responded to questions almost instantaneously. I would highly recommend this space if your goal is to be in the Gaia area and visiting the port houses.

L'alloggio si trova a due passi dalla riva sud del fiume, dalla quale si gode della bellissima vista della città sull'altra sponda. Si raggiunge comodamente il centro a piedi. A 10 minuti di distanza si parcheggia l'auto comodamente e gratuitamente.

Jun 27, 2019A pesar de no haber coincidido con Gisela, su trato a través de la App fue muy bueno. Siempre atenta y muy amable. La casa está localizada casi en pleno centro. Y el interior del apartamento está cuidado al detalle. No puedo poner ninguna pega. Todo excepcional.
Jun 27, 2019Le petit studio était idéalement situé pour visiter Porto à pieds. Seulement à 3min du pont Dom Luis. Très bien décoré, avec pleins de petites attentions de la part de Gisela, nous vous recommandons ce logement pour un petit séjour à Porto. Le seul défaut est qu’on entend pas mal les voisins du dessus tout comme ceux d’en dessous doivent nous entendre (parquet). Merci a Gisela pour sa réactivité

Jun 27, 2019Ein kleines aber tolles Zimmer mit allem was man braucht. Zentral gelegen, direkt bei der Brücke Ponte Luis. Wir haben den kurzen Aufenthalt genossen. Gisela antwortet schnell und gibt Tipps und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Alles in allem sehen zu empfehlen.

Jun 27, 2019숙소는 아주 깨끗하고, 위치도 너무 좋아 저녁 돌아오는 길 또한 나에게 행복한 시간을 갖게하였다. 혼자라면 그리 좁지 않지만, 부부 등 2인이 묵기엔 다소 좁은 공간이라고 생각한다. 우린 부부이므로 가격대비 나쁘지 않았고, 호스트 답변도 즉시즉시 이루어져 큰 애로 사항은 없었다. 숙소 문 잠금이 안에서도 열쇠를 사용한다는 게 의아했고 , 좀 불편했다. 윗 층의 소음이 약간 있었으나 감당할 정도여서, 3일 지내는 데 큰 문제없이 지낼 수 있었다.

Jun 27, 2019I would definitely recommend this location, as this side you have an amazing view of Porto over the Douro, and very easy and quick to cross over the bridge anyway. There are a few cafe's and food shops for small purchases very close, and very near all the Port houses for tours/tasting. Very clean and comfortable, all you need for a base for a city break, thanks again!
Jun 27, 2019Juste parfait ! Appartement idéalement situé, au calme. Propreté irréprochable, fonctionnel, literie de qualité et très belle décoration . Des petits cadeaux à l'arrivée ! Nous avons passé 5 nuits dans l'appartement de Gisela, et nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
