The bedroom has a queen bed, dresser and a walk in closet. Large bathroom with tub and shower. Entrance is conveniently located on the ground floor. I periodically contact my guests during their stay to make sure everything is going well. I give them information on current events, points if interest and directions to locations they're interested in. Safety is very important to all my guest and offer them information on the local health clinics and hospitals. One of the first subdivisions built in Kailua Kona and conveniently located about 10-15 min. ftom downtown Kailua Kona. There's only one way in and one way out so we don't have traffic driving through all day. This is a very safe neighborhood and the residents watches out for each other. I recommend you rent a car to get around the largest island in the Hawaiian Islands. I'm a Uber
Neighborhood Overview
One of the first subdivisions built in Kailua Kona and conveniently located about 10-15 min. ftom downtown Kailua Kona. There's only one way in and one way out so we don't have traffic driving through all day. This is a very safe neighborhood and the residents watches out for each other.
Notes

Bert’s place is great. Central location, modern apartment. Wifi is fast. It was nice having a full kitchen and access to a washer/dryer. We plan to stay again next time we are in the area.

Jun 27, 2019Nice location and good value - Bert is very nice and helpful- for those of us used to A/C, just be aware A/C is not typical in many homes on the island. Bert did provide a fan - and we got by fine.

Jun 27, 2019Berts place was clean and tidy with special extras. Full fridge. Full kitchen. Towels. Sunscreen. Laundry room if needed. Quiet. Peaceful. Central to kona. Do need a car - but that is for any where on the big island of Hawaii she is big! Communication was great. And Bert went above and beyond when my plane was delayed / lost in the dark / he came and got me and my hire car. Special bonus. You won't regret staying here :-)
Jun 27, 2019Bert is very hospitable, helpful, friendly, communicative. He met us in the airport, made a tour of the island by car. It was very convenient. The flat not very big, but very comfortable. It's not close to the city center in quiet area. The best place for relaxation. Everything was great! Thank you, Bert!
Jun 27, 2019Bert was great, he greeted my husband at check in and had fruit ready for us. I wasn’t able to be there at check in because I arrived later because of work. However, I felt the aloha and welcome through the messages he sent checking up on us. He’s a great host, present and easy to reach but we had our complete privacy. The place was exactly as advertised, clean and easy private access. Definitely recommend.

He was very thoughtful of stocking the essentials in the kitchen .. we were welcomed with bowl full of fruits Pineapple, Oranges and Banana.. sure it took care of our immediate hunger . Very family friendly stay .. and conveniently located to drive from Kona airport , market place and to go for sightseeing .. amazing white and black sand beaches close by .. Mahalo
Jun 27, 2019In short: it was awesome You have a whole apartment with everything you need for your self all alone. Bert is very accommodating and very nice. He´s looking for his guests. The location is also perfect. You are near to Kailua but also in a very local area. No long ways to downtown, shops or beaches. Your directly on the Highway to discover the whole island. From our perspective: absolutely recommendable!
Jun 27, 2019Bert's place was exactly as advertised. Kitchen was fully functional and bedroom area was cozy. The location was great, outside the bustle of downtown Kona, but still close to everything on the East side. Bert greeted us with warm smiles, fresh fruit and macadamia nut chocolates. We'll be back!
Jun 27, 2019Bert is a good host. He was there to greet us with island chocolates and other treats. He kept in touch by email and gave us suggestions where to visit. The apartment is spacious enough and quiet. Need a car to get around.
Jun 27, 2019Bert was very welcoming and the place was comfortable and cool. Bert gave us chocolates and a lei as a welcome gift and was there to greet us. The neighbors had a dog that barked quite a lot and the place was not quite as clean as we would have liked. The location was great.
Jun 27, 2019The main reason we chose Bert's place was because of his excellent cancellation policy. We have elderly parents and this was important to us. Bert was an excellent host and as a welcoming gift he left us some treats and some Kona coffee! The unit was spacious and centrally located with excellent WiFi and plenty of hot water. There was also a nice washer & dryer which we used the night before we checked out. When communicating with Bert he always answered promptly and he gave us much local advice such as shopping, beaches, etc. All in all a nice experience!

Jun 27, 2019Bert war ein guter Gastgeber und die Kommunikation mit ihm verlief einwandfrei und rasch. Das Bungalow hat eine super Lage, jedoch sollte man in einem Besitz eines Fahrzeuges sein. Auch ist die Ausstattung komplett inkl. Waschmaschine die mit weiteren Familienmigliedern geteilt wird.
Jun 27, 2019Bert's place gives you the feel and ambience of staying in a local, older neighbourhood. Not fancy... basic.. simple... but has all the necessities. Comfy bed, bathroom, shower was great, everything you need! Definitely not a touristy part of town. You get a view of the ocean from the street, but not from my lower suite. Would be nice to have a patio or lanai to sit and enjoy a view. You definitely need a car. It is hard to locate if you arrive late in the dark! (Like me, as I had a very late arrival time.) Bert is a very kind and hospitable host, and checks in to see if I need anything or any questions. It was very much appreciated having papaya, bananas, coffee to welcome me! He offers very helpful tips, quick in responding to any questions. I would highly recommend Bert's place for a simple, basic, down to earth stay.. especially if you want to be away from the touristy hustle and bustle!

Jun 27, 2019Nice calm and relaxing place. We had everything we needed and more while living here. We got chocolates and chips, and there was coffee available. The extra beach equipment was nice. The apartment was clean, but we had some small ants in the kitchen looking for food. It's in the first floor ground level, so it was sort of expected. Bert was a good host and replied quickly to my questions. All in all a nice place to stay.
Jul 27, 2019This place was amazing, it had a fully equipped kitchen where we could prepare our meals, Big bathroom, super comfy bed, washer and dryer which was really helpful during our two weeks stay in Kona. It’s very close to the beach, to kona village, and to all the major supermarkets. Bert was an outstanding host, always ready to help with anything we may have needed. The place was quiet and relaxing!! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in the kona side!!!
Jun 27, 2019Bert was a great host and his place exceeded our expectations. He welcomed us at check in and even offered some fruits and cold drinks. I appreciate his tips on what to do and where to go around Kona. The place is 10 min drive from Kona, and very easy access to both the north and south sides of Kona. It is spacious (photos don’t do it justice here, there is so much space). The kitchen has everything we need. Lots of things were provided by Bert that we used and we really had a great time.
Jun 27, 2019Bert goes above and beyond to make you feel like home when you're staying at his place. Right when we met him, he's very thoughtful and polite. The home was super clean and quaint. He really prepares you for your trip! He has snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and other beach gear you can use, as well as sunscreen and other bathroom amenities. He always gave us awesome suggestions for things to do. We really can't thank him enough!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time. Everything was clean, with enough towel and stuff. Bert welcome us with a little present. He had answers for our questions. We had an own room with bed, couch and kitchen. It’s big for 2 people.
