OUR HOUSE Our house is known as “Canto da Carambola”. It is a special place for those who like nature, art and simplicity. Fruit trees, flowers, birds and small monkeys are all around. Parrots, toucans and owls also visit us frequently. High ceiling (4m) and large windows opened to a small garden help keep room fresh with natural light and comfortable temperature. HOSTS We have two lovely dogs: Bebel and Olavo, and two nice cats: Maria and Tomzé. From terrace and backyard, we have a really wonderful view of downtown and Guanabara Bay.

Transit
TRANSPORT Downtown and Lapa, bohemian district, are only 15-minutes walking from our house. Bus 14 and private vans pass in front of our house often. They are used to get Carioca and Gloria's metro station from where you can go anywhere.

We had a wonderful experience here. Miro, our host was amazing. He went above and beyond the duties of a host. He gave us recommendations of places to go and even helped us figure out how to get there. He made us a delicious breakfast every morning and it was fun to try different local juices and food. We had a few people in our group staying in different rooms. The suites were well worth it. If you want to stay for a few days and get the feel for a local neighborhood it was great. We would definitely stay here again next time.
Jun 27, 2019We had a great experience during our time at Canto da Carambola in Rio. Their place is in a fantastic location, it is comfortable and they provide a delicious breakfast. Miro speaks English well and goes out of his way to assist his guests with travel tips and ideas and anything else that can make your stay an enjoyable one. I highly recommend this AirBnB.
Jun 27, 2019Miro is great! The room was great and the communal environment of the house was really nice. Great outdoor space and views, as well as a great breakfast every morning...ask for the eggs! The price was more than fair and there are a number of great areas to walk to.

Jun 27, 2019Miro is a superb host. He received us early in the day and was very helpful with good advices. His outdoor spaces are wonderful, green and nice with a good view to the city centre. His breakfast is also very good. All in all we felt very welcome and I really recomend staying in Miro´s place.
Jun 27, 2019Estamos felices de haber elegido tan bonito hogar para pasar el Carnaval! Las descripciones son totalmente correctas, en todo momento recibimos amabilidad y cordialidad por parte de los anfitriones, ya sea en cuanto información turística de la ciudad, como en la atención de estar en aquellos pequeños detalles que nos hacían sentir como en casa: muchas gracias por todo!!! La habitación estaba súper limpia, como el resto de la casa. Una ambientación muy linda, se trata de una antigua casona remodelada. También disfrutamos de la grata compañía de sus dos perros y dos gatos! Incluso, algunos días tuvimos la suerte de recibir la visita de monitos en los árboles del patio. El desayuno era servido con dedicación, creo que no faltaba nada en la mesa de ese precioso patio lleno de plantas y árboles brasileros. Nos deleitaron con sus exquisiteces caseras: bolo (una especie de budín) especialmente el de laranja (obrigada de Sergio) y la mermelada de carambola de Miro, qué delicias! El barrio es tranquilo y se siente seguro al caminar, tanto de día como de noche. Está muy bien ubicado en relación al Centro, Lapa, el Sambódromo. También es fácil moverse para ir a las playas de zona Sur. Con convicción creemos que habremos de volver a Santa Teresa y sin dudas será a Canto de Carambola. Hemos quedado encantados con la buena energia que circunda este hogar y a sus dueños, muito obrigado de corazón. Raúl e Vani.

Jun 27, 2019We loved staying at Miro's house. He is a wonderful host with a warm heart and always ready to help. The breakfast is great. There was never a breakfast as good as Miro's on our further trip through Brasilia :)
