Michael's place is Gorgeous And very Accommodating,Everything you need is there..Its so nice just being there was just so tranquil. The views are amazing.Excellent utilities ! Water pressure,light's, washer n dryer etc We stayed 7 days added 3 more snd eould have still been.But he had guests coming in.So If you want the best place all around OH AND BEST HOST EVER! - Get him and book extra in advance!!:)))

Jun 27, 2019Guest house in a great location with a wonderful view of Diamond Head and Waikiki. The house was well stocked with juice and snacks for us. Micheal was nice and quick to respond to any questions over text. Would definitely recommend as a great place to get out of Waikiki and see the rest of Honolulu!

Jun 27, 2019Amazing view cottage perched on the ridge, perfect for a couple. Short ride down the hill for shops and restaurants. Not too far from the Waikiki action/ nightlife. Host Michael is awesome, you will be glad you stayed here.

We had the pleasure to meet him and he walked us through his place.Would definitely recommend his place to our friends!
Jun 27, 2019This place was seriously awesome. I lived in Hawaii for some time and recently went back for a wedding. This place was perfect my 3 buddies and myself. Michael was very accommodating, kind, punctual, and very good with communication. He even let us use the driveway for a bigger car, and when an extra friend flew in allowed him to stay with us last minute. The place had an amazing view, but only after driving up the giant hill. Also the knook area was my favorite place in the property. Cool, quiet, and with a great host I would totally recommend and stay there again. Great job Michael!!

Jun 27, 2019This beautiful space is so lovingly maintained and incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset on Diamond Head and the trade winds provided the perfect cooling during a particularly hot spell! My husband grew up on Wilhelmina Rise and it was so wonderful to be 2 blocks from his parents and family home. No ka oi!

It is on top of the hill which provides a stunning view to wake up to every morning and sip some coffee before heading out for the day as well as a wonderful spot to watch the sunset. It is super close to Waikiki but is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. You get the best of both worlds at this location! Additionally, the loft was super comfortable and very roomy. To top things off, Michael was tremendously communicative and was a very welcoming host. I will definitely stay here when I return to Honolulu!

Jun 27, 2019Michael's place was beyond perfect. You easily have one of the best views of the city and ocean from the patio, and it's just a short drive into town. The accommodation was great, our family of four fit just fine, made dinner in the kitchen, and enjoyed the place just as much as we enjoyed going out and seeing the sights. Michael is a wonderful host and we'll definitely be staying with him whenever we come to Hawai'i.
Jun 27, 2019What a great place to stay! With all the generic places to stay that are just condos, to be in a great little cottage with a feeling of seclusion, all dark wood, great deck view. There's basically a caretaker / resident on site who is very friendly and lives in one of the other houses - easy to get ahold of, no waiting around. A few points: the internet here is very strong, as is the shower. I love a good morning shower, and this is the best ever. An on-demand water heater, I think. If there is anything to be aware of, the parking is a little dicey. There's a garage right under the house, but our monstrous rental car was a tight fit! A normal car should be fine..

The view and island breeze were so beautiful that my husband and I canceled some of our plans so we could spend an entire morning sitting on the patio and drinking coffee. Michael was a very welcoming and responsive host who embodies the aloha spirit. If you’re looking for a relaxing experience away from the crowds, I highly recommend Michael’s getaway!
Jun 27, 2019The cottage itself is a beautiful piece of mid-century modern architecture. It's cozy and quiet with twinkling nighttime views. A very special place for getting up and out of the city. Michael is a very sweet person. We had privacy but he was also close by if we needed something. This is a very special gem.

Jun 27, 2019Scenic, cool breezes, quiet and relaxing. Amazing view of Diamond head. Loved the shower pressure. Its a steep or winding drive up to the top which I found a little hair raising. Found a better route off of Keanu St. thru a lyft driver on our last day. Michael was very friendly and accesible. Pretty yard with lots of fruit trees. Morning rain was lovely.

Jun 27, 2019We were fortunate to spend 3 fabulous weeks at Michael's retreat. Michael is a wonderful person, gracious and respectful. He was always helpful and kind. His place totally reflects his wonderful sense of Hawaiian style and grace. Everything is here for a simple restful holiday. Since this visit was a pre-celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary, it was perfect. The kitchen was cozy and well equipped. The bathroom was private with a great hot shower and the bed was very comfortable. The beautiful lanai was a highlight as it overlooked Michael's beautiful garden and personal touches. The view was phenomenal and large enough for dining and working at a computer while enjoying the sights of Diamond Head, the ocean and city below. Finally we loved the neighborhood and its proximity to the bus, if needed. We will never forget the chorus of birds singing from dawn until dusk. One cannot help but be happy and at peace at Michael's place. We truly hope to return one day. Thank you, Michael! Patty and Bill
Jun 27, 2019Micheal's place is located at the top of mountain across from Diamond head. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the balcony while watching a beautiful sunset. As long as you have a rent car, I believe this house is one of the best choice. I spent 3 nights at a hotel right in front of Waikiki then another 2 nights at Micheal's place. Frankly, my wife and I pretty much liked the stay at this house than the hotel at Waikiki. Rent a car and get to Micheal's house, this is my next choice again. Sure, I won't regret.

Jul 27, 2019We had a very brief stay at Michael's place but it was great one none the less. Amazing view of diamond Head Crater. Highly recommend hiking to the summit of diamond Head for the sunrise. Would recommend this place to people in small groups of 2 or 3. A car or ride share are a good idea as it is near the top of a large hill.

Jun 27, 2019Even after having admired the nice pictures on Airbnb, Michael’s place exceeded our expectations when we arrived. It was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay and the interior was very tasteful and cozy. The view overlooking Diamond Head and Waikiki is really spectacular. Michael greeted us upon arriving and showed us around in a very welcoming way. The place was greatly appreciated by the whole family and we would definitely like to come back to stay longer.

Jun 27, 2019Loved the view from Michael's place and it's proximity to the interstate. If you're going to be spending a lot of time on the south shore, this is a great place to be. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the rental unit provides a lot of privacy.

Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay with Michael over our 5 day vacation in O'ahu! Michael was an amazing host, he was easy to communicate with and made us feel very welcome. The place has an amazing view we thoroughly enjoyed every morning and evening, and was also very well equipped with lots of everyday items you are likely to not think about packing and end up having to purchase. The studio itself was beautiful, and we had such a great time. Would definitely love to come back and stay with Michael again!

And it was SO nice staying outside the hustle and bustle of the usual Waikiki scene. Michael was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The kitchen comes with a lot of condiments, food items and such so make sure you take a look before you go shopping!
Jun 27, 2019The bungalow was extraordinary; a much more exciting and unique choice than staying in a hotel. Michael's place offers a large lanai with great views of Diamond Head Crater, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, a private backyard area, and the most comfortable bed ever, which was amazing to luxuriate in. The bungalow is definitely romantic, but know that the place, and all its amenities, truly caters to every kind of traveler. The loft bed, in addition to the queen-sized bed in the bungalow, would be great for friends and family. The kitchen comes with a stove, full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, dishware, and cookware, perfect for those who prefer to stay at home and enjoy dinner on the lanai with the amazing view. Michael's place is incredibly fun and, honestly, I will never go back to staying in a hotel again if I can help it. Thanks, Michael--you are a dreamweaver and a memory-maker.

Jun 27, 2019This place was great! The view is truly sensational, and we loved waking up to it every day. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and well-appointed, and Michael was a kind, responsive and gracious host. There are lots of great spots for coffee or a bite in the Kaimuki neighborhood at the bottom of the hill. It's a very lush spot, so if there's been a lot of rain, you might need to wear bug spray out on the deck (if mosquitoes like you like they like me). We would absolutely go back.

Jun 27, 2019Such a fantastic host! This was by far the best air b n b experience yet! Michael was attentive and hospitable and yet we felt like we had our privacy. The space was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The veiws are great and waking up in the morning to the sounds of birds in the trees was so special! Total gem! Words can’t begin to describe how delighted we were with our stay. It’s a great place to come home to at the end of the day to take a fresh shower, sleep in a comfortable and then wake up to the birds and take in your coffee on the lanai with gorgeous veiws. Simplicity at its best!

He was always available to help during my stay and because I was travelling alone, he picked me up at the airport and took me to the bus station on my departure. Guess what, he has 3 amazing hairy chickens and their eggs are delicious (he gave me some to cook). The apartment is very nice and you'll love having your breakfast in the balcony while you enjoy the great view. Thanks for everything Michael - João
Jun 27, 2019Nous avons passé 3 semaines superbes chez Michael.. Le logement se trouve sur les hauteurs d Honolulu avec une vue à couper le souffle sur le cratère du volcan Diamond Head.. Le treck pour se rendre au sommet du volcan est à conseiller, la vue est splendide.. Le logement est très bien équipé et conforme aux photos postées.. Pas besoin de réveil, les oiseaux magnifiques que l’on peut voir se chargent de vous réveiller.. Nature luxuriante et très bien entretenue.. À conseiller... Aloha à tous ceux qui viendront rendre visite à Michael...
Jun 27, 2019This is a great little oasis away from the hustle-and-bustle of Waikiki. We loved retreating here after days at the beaches or snorkeling Haunama Bay, to return to the sound of birds and a blissful evening rain. Michael is a great host (he even brought us scones one morning!) and the rainbow-vistas from the deck every morning make this place a great stay all on their own. We'll be back!
Jun 27, 2019We had a fantastic time staying at Michael’s. The view was breathtaking overlooking the Diamond Head crater and Waikiki. The little place was clean & cosy with everything we ever needed. Michael was a wonderful host: super responsive and caring. Hubby got sick on the flight over to Hawaii. Michael kindly let us check in a bit early to rest and provided some much need cold & flu tablets. We’re definitely planning to go back and would recommend Michael’s place to anyone visiting Honolulu.
Jun 27, 2019Michael was very helpful and went over and above in terms of hospitality. The place was pleasantly removed from busyness of the city (this is why we went here) but close enough to get there quickly. You'll need a car or get to know "The Bus" that goes up there. Either way... you probably aren't walking there (think San Fran steep roads). We took Uber up just fine. Can't beat the view. Quite neighborhood and fun to walk around in morning. We didn't come prepared for mosquitos (went in June) but the place was stocked with repellent. Overall wonderful, wonderful. Would come again. Thanks Michael!

Michael was a phenomenal host, offering us some local spots to grub. He always checked up on us to see if we needed anything & never hesitated to respond. Will definitely come back!

It was so nice being able to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the birds and crickets, not to mention the view is fantastic! Michael is a wonderful host - he was there to welcome us at check in and gave us a couple of phenomenal suggestions for food and things to do. Thanks for making us feel at home in Honolulu!
Jun 27, 2019Michael is incredibly nice and helpful and we loved our stay at his place! The view from the lanai is amazing and it was lovely to wake up every morning to the sounds of birds. There is no AC but the place is up on a hill and is cool and breezy so there was no need for it (there are fans if needed) Bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you might need including lots of condiments. Would love to stay here again!

Jun 27, 2019Michael ist ein sehr lustiger, hilfsbereiter und entspannter Gastgeber! Sehr gute schnelle Kommunikation! Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt: ruhig, fantastische Aussicht auf den Diamond Head und Waikiki, angenehme Nachbarschaft und als Ausgangspunkt optimal, um den Süden von Oahu zu erkunden! Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, es gibt jede Menge Basics an Lebensmitteln, schöne Handtücher im Bad, ein sehr bequemes großes Bett. Wir haben es genossen, zu viert auf der schönen Terrasse zu sitzen und zu frühstücken mit Blick auf Waikiki und dem unglaublichen morgendlichen Vogelgezwitscher! Wie im Dschungel! Weiterer Pluspunkt: kostenloser Parkplatz am Haus! Wenn man zu viert reist, sollte man damit klar kommen, dass das Bett auf der Empore ein Futon und die Deckenhöhe sehr niedrig ist. Unsere Teenie Kinder haben dort aber gut geschlafen! Da das Haus inmitten von Bäumen und Pflanzen liegt und immer ein Wind weht, war die Temperatur zum Schlafen angenehm! Die Ventilatoren, die Michael uns auf Wunsch zusätzlich zur Verfügung gestellt hatte, haben wir letztlich nachts nicht gebraucht! Wir waren sehr froh, nicht im rummeligen Honolulu gewohnt zu haben und würden diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen! Mahalo, Michael!!!
Jun 27, 2019Michael's place lived up to every expectation. It's in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for a remote getaway, but close enough to downtown to be convenient. I cannot get over how adorable the house was and how open, plus the amazing views. I would recommend it to anyone!
Jun 27, 2019Great views, conveniently located near Oahu's main attractions but far enough to be a relaxing retreat. We were able to see Waikiki, Spitting Caves, Pele's Chair, and the Ala Moana center, which were all within 20 min of the Airbnb. Michael was very welcoming and our stay was great.

Michael ist ein sehr sympathischer und lustiger Gastgeber , die Kommunikation war schnell und problemlos, ebenso der check in. Die Ausstattung ist gut, alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Wir haben zu viert zwei wunderschöne Tage und entspannte Nächte bei Michael verbracht und können es nur weiter empfehlen!

Jun 27, 2019This place was absolutely amazing!! Tucked just far enough away from the crowds that it felt secluded, but close enough to go downtown for an evening out. Beautiful views from the deck. Everything was just exactly as depicted in the photos. We were even able to do our laundry before we left (because who wants to do that after you get home)! Truly a great stay. We will absolutely stay here in the future if we ever find ourselves in Oahu again. Thank you so much!

Jun 27, 2019This is a majestic hideaway above the tree line looking down at diamond head and the ocean. Breathtaking views and serenity. I think the term luxury doesn’t do justice to the experience. Michael couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. The spirit of Aloha is alive and well here. I’ll be back and already missing waking up to the chirping of birds and those inspiring views.

Jun 27, 2019Michael was very accommodating. He kept a package for me and gave us an option to leave our luggage at his place after the check out (we asked). His place is on a very steep hill so offers an amazing view. The pictures were truthful. The stairs to the loft are quite steep but steps are wide enough to make going up and down easier. I gave 4 stars because the extra blanket/duvet required some cleaning and there were some bugs. Given the location maybe the bugs are to be expected.... didn’t get much of the natural light in the room. The mattress upstairs is closer to a futon. We made it work but it might feel small for 4 adults. Amazing water pressure in the shower and easily accessible washing machine and the dryer!!Overall liked the location and the stay. It was quite convenient. The host was very nice.
Jun 27, 2019Michael's place is a peaceful sanctuary away from the city's congestion. During our brief one-night stay, we were content to stay put. There is a fabulous view of the ocean and Diamond Head from the lanai where we enjoyed sipping wine in the evening and drinking coffee in the morning while listening to the birds. In the space itself, the owner's thoughtful touches are evident in the essentials provided, including food and beverage items, working kitchen, cooling fans, fresh linens and comfortable sleeping spaces. Moreover, the artful design of the place is both aesthetically pleasing and very welcoming. As host, Michael himself, is warm and gracious. My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Jun 27, 2019Michael is a very responsible, attentive, and welcoming host. We barely got to chat with him because of our hectic schedule, but when we did it was always pleasant. He seems like a genuinely friendly guy and the perfect type to be hosting guests from around the world. The apt is very cute and we really appreciated the oatmeal and tea-stocked kitchen for our late evening arrival!
Jun 27, 2019This place was great! Amazing view of the city and diamond head plus tons of beautiful greenery everywhere. Nice quiet place away from it all. Very close to food and shops down on waialae ave which was convenient. Great host too!
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay at Michael's place. The place is exactly as described in the listing - its small and cosy. Elderly people might have some trouble climbing the stairs to the loft bed. Michael had provided Oats for breakfast, however, there are restaurants in the area. Communication was excellent and we look forward to staying here in the near future.

Jun 27, 2019This bungaloo is a gem. Michael is a kind and thoughtful host. It is located in the hills above diamondhead volacano. You feel as though you are up in a rainforest canopy. Ideal ot have your own car, as there are no amenities in walking distance.
Jun 27, 2019The location is away from the tourist places and it is surrounded by greenery and trees. You can see the Diamond head from the unit. The unit is equipped with salt/pepper and other condiments in the kitchen, in the bathroom there is shampoo, soap and other aminities. The host is very nice and communicates with him was fast. Now the negative part, we just didn't think the place was clean enough overall. Also, there were ants in the kitchen which made it difficult for us to cook and eat there.

Jun 27, 2019The sunset view over the ocean is a delight in this charming Hawaiian gem. Easy access to Kaimuki area with great restaurants (Town; Mud, Water, Hen; and Kaimuki Superette), and a great wine store (Tamura's). This is a good location if you want to spend time in downtown Honolulu and Chinatown, accessible via a short drive. Michael was very responsive to communicate with and he also gave us an insider's tip for local beach access close to, but away from the congested Waikiki area.
Jun 27, 2019This bungalow has a very private, woodsy feel to it. Of the five spots we stayed at this extended trip, this was the only one that has cable tv - my husband was able to view his sports programs finally! Be aware that you'll need a car to drive up the very steep road to this spot. Also, this area is much cooler than down below.

Jul 27, 2019We loved our stay at Michael’s appartement. The view out the balcony is stunning, we never got tired of looking out and admiring the city, the water, and Diamond Head. Originally we were supposed to be 4 adult travellers, and I suspect the apartment would’ve been a little too tight for us all, but we absolutely recommend this place if you’re a couple, our have young kids with you. The apartment was super clean, well-equipped, and functional.

Jun 27, 2019Michael's place is perfect get-away retreat from the business of Waikiki. He had coffee, tea and instant oatmeal for breakfast. My favorite part of the property is the deck and the gorgeous view. Every morning I would wake up and listen to the birds and look at the view, while enjoying my coffee. Definitely recommend to stay!
Jun 27, 2019Michael is a great host- accomodating - and he or representative is always available but don’t hover. Private lodging separate from main house with every amenity provided and fantastic view. Cool nights after hot days in city is luxurious and also feels very safe in hilltop neighborhood off the beaten path. Worth it. Thanks guys.
