The room: Sunny and Budget Friendly room located on the top floor of our 3 floor townhouse. It has a full size 10" memory foam mattress that comfortably accommodates 2 people. The room is a nice size with closet space, wood floors and large window. Our home: Is a 3 floor townhouse with a total of 6 guest bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms, front porch and backyard. We adore the people that we host and work hard to keep a clean and harmonious space for our guests.

Neighborhood Overview
The neighborhood is great for people who love nature and outdoor activities. We are near the Jamaica Bay Riding Academy, Gateway National Park and Canarsie Pier. If you like bike riding you could take the Gateway National Park bike path to Brighton Beach--the ride along the water is beautiful and peaceful. As far as cafes-- there are a few spots in Canarsie but I prefer to take the L train to Williamsburg or Downtown Brooklyn to go to some of Brooklyn's most revere hip spots. The total ride to the hippest areas in Brooklyn is about 15 to 30 min depending on the area and on the (Website hidden by Airbnb) Manhattan the first stop is 40 min). By-the-way, I've seen other posting with spaces in Canarsie that are located further away from our block, and they are claiming 20 to 30 min to Manhattan--- this is a lie. We are not 20 min away from Manhattan but we are budget friendly and in a nice safe location. Our neighbors are great, they appreciate diversity and would be friendly towards you. As for us we love meeting new people, we are welcoming and will make your comfort our priority. We want to offer you a home away from home and a fabulous stay in NY for a fraction of the cost.
Transit
Subway: The L train is 3 blocks away from our home. The total travel time to the first stop in Manhattan (1st Avenue/East Village) is aprx 40 min. Bus service: B (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , and BM2. The BM2 runs from Canarsie to Midtown Manhattan. The total travel time is 1 hour. The principal commercial streets are Rockaway Parkway and Flatlands Avenue. Near Airport: We are 15 to 20 min away from JFK and the total fare from JFK to our home is $28.

Jun 27, 2019Patrick and Nancy were both more than accommodating during my stay in NYC. I was relocating to Brooklyn for a job from Columbus OH, and what a change it was! They helped ease me into the city while I gathered a sense of direction and searched for apartments. I definitely could not have settled into the belly of New York without a comfortable, clean, and affordable place to stay while I was getting myself established. They have more than one location in Brooklyn, and both excellent. Good job guys!

Jun 27, 2019Patrick and Nancy are kind and generous people who took the time to make me feel welcomed. The room is basic but clean, and the bed is comfortable. If you need anything at all you can ask them and they will do their best for you. Nancy has an eye for detail and clearly cares that her house is tidy and has a personal, aesthetic touch. She provided coffee, tea, cream and other kitchen items.

Jul 27, 2019Staying with Patrick and Nancy was my first Airbnb experience during my first trip to NYC. It was amazing. The room and bathroom was spotless and even better than depicted in the photos. Nancy was very helpful with directions. I walked home from the subway very late at night or early morning hours and did not feel unsafe at all. I had a problem with a key that did not work properly but both Patrick and Nancy was home during these occurances and opened the door for me once I returned. The house is big and it felt like I had the floor to myself mostly. Being a solo traveller who wanted to get the most out of my NYC experience in 4 days, it was definitely a great choice. Upon leaving Nancy called a car service that was efficient and not expensive at all. I would definitely stay with Partrick and Nancy again.
Jun 27, 2019Nancy was lovely and welcoming. She really worked with me to fit my family in because it was a special family reunion and my father live just a few doors away. But I think this was the first time she hosted a family with teenagers, so she went through the rules with us very thoroughly, especially the sheets, the bathroom and the air-conditioning. The rooms were as I expected and very much like the photos, all simple and tasteful. There was another lady sharing the flat with us but generally we felt secure and comfortable to use the kitchen as we needed it. We just use the common sense and mutual courtesy rule and tidied up after ourselves after we used something. We had a problem with the toilet once but Patrick came and dealt with it immediately. The downside is that there was no lounge space and the kitchen bench sat only two people at most (there was a chair with no seat, hopefully it is now restored!). We spent our days out so after our return, we missed a communal space. But for a couple or a single this may not matter much. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Nancy's and would recommend this place to others.

Jun 27, 2019Nancy und Patrick haben uns herzlich empfangen und sogar gleich mit leckeren Pizza-Schnecken versorgt. Das Zimmer war klein, aber fein und absolut sauber. Die Küche und das Bad hatten alles was man braucht, diverse Geschäfte in der Nähe sorgten für schnelle Einkäufe. Nancy hat täglich geschaut, ob genügend Kaffee und Milch da waren, Müll entsorgt etc.. Dabei immer zu einem netten Smalltalk bereit. Wir haben uns in der einen Woche sehr wohl gefühlt und würden sicher ein zweites Mal dort wohnen!!
Jun 27, 2019J'ai séjourné 10 (Website hidden by Airbnb) chambre est beaucoup plus grande que ce qu'elle parait sur la photo , au calme avec un bureau,un grand placard intégré et un lit des plus confortables ..coussins multiples,fleurs ds la chambre,lampe de chevet , wifi,tout est confort et douillet .vous avez accès à la cuisine , moderne et très bien équipée. Des restos avec plats à emporter,superette sont à votre porte,ainsi que le train L .le plus appreciable c la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Nancy et Patrick .une belle ambiance règne ds la maison et je m'y suis sentie (Website hidden by Airbnb) vous recommande cette adresse qui cloture en beauté mon tour du monde!
Jun 27, 2019Feels like home Nancy was an amazing host, being kindly caring about me and my friend Alice. We stayed for almost a week and were blown away by the lovely atmosphere that Nancy created with her spirit. Creatively arranged room and kitchen, which a lot of light and cosyness :) I would absolutely recommend it for someone in need of a bit of a home in a busy crowded city like New York. Patrick is very easy going and a joy to talk to- I think it's hard to not like these guys. So one final THANK YOU!
Jun 27, 2019Nancy and Patrick were both very nice, and Nancy took good care of us. The kitchen on our floor was well equipped and I cooked dinner a few times. I really enjoyed staying there, even though the wall to the adjacent room is very thin and you could hear your neighbors very clearly.

Jun 27, 2019Nancy and Patrick were perfect hosts. Patrick was very good at communicating directions to the house from the airport when I arrived. Nancy was warm and welcoming. I was a lone traveller and sharing my day's experiences with Nancy and the other guests on my floor when I got home was a good way of winding down. The shared kitchen and bathroom were clean and luckily I shared with 3 other considerate girls. It is a predominantly residential area. There is a small shopping block about 5 mins away with a Foodmart, pharmacy, bakery, laundromat, salon etc.. Just a block further down there's a collection of eating places including KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, IHOP, Baskin Robbins and a Japanese chain called Sarku. along with other shops. In his descriotion of the area Patrick mentions a shopping centre called Gateway Shopping Centre, this is a short bus ride away and has bigger shops such as Gap and Bath, Bed and Beyond. The subway L train is 10 minds away walking at an average pace. I walk fast (7 mins to the subway) and from the house to Union Square on Manhattan took me 30 mins. I was lucky enough not to have to wait for trains.
Jun 27, 2019Nous avons passé quelques jours chez Patrick et nous avons apprécié sa maison. C'est très propre et calme, il fait bien chaud, ce qui est agréable quand nous rentrons d'une journée dehors à parcourir New York. Le logement est proche d'une station de métro. Très bon rapport qualité prix.
Jun 27, 2019Nancy and Patrick have an adorable, nice and cozy house! Although we didn't meet Patrick, Nancy was a super host and she made us feel really comfortable! She is really sweet and she couldn't treat her guests any better. She was always making sure we were comfortable and didn't have any problem to answer any questions. We really enjoyed our stay in their house, which is really clean, amazingly decorated and comfortable. Totally recommended, its really close to the subway station so you can easily get anywhere you like! With any doubt we would happily stay with them in our next visit to NY! Thank you so much, we really felt at home!

O casal Nancy e Patrick são super afetivos e interessados nos seus hospedes, sempre atentos e preocupados em oferecer o melhor para todos. O fato deles morarem na casa também torna o lugar super seguro. O meu quarto era confortável e quente; o banheiro com um água e chuveiro delicia; e a cozinha super equipada e pronta para que todos usassem os seus pratos e comidas prediletas. O bairro em Canarsie é super seguro, a casa fica há 10 minutos ou menos da estação de trem/metro, e nunca fiquei por mais de 3 minutos esperando para ir para Manhattan. Mesmo a noite, o bairro impressiona pela sensação de segurança.

Jun 27, 2019Patrick nous a mis de suite à l'aise lorsque l'on est rentré dans le logement. Ils parlait français ce qui nous a été très agréable vu notre niveau d'anglais. Nancy, sa femme, était très disponible pour nous expliquer le fonctionnement des métros et des bus. Elle est doté d'une grande hospitalité. C'était très convivial. Le quartier était sympa. La maison était à 5min à pied d'une bouche de métro et à proximité de plusieurs arrêts de bus. Le trajet vers Manhattan était de 40min à peu près. La chambre était correcte, dans un style brooklyn année 70 (parquet vieilli, déco kitche). Pas d'équipement dans la chambre hormis le Wi-Fi mais mise à disposition de la cuisine et de son équipement.

Jun 27, 2019Very tidy and clean place. The owners' rules helps to keep a place clean and nice, since there are multiple rooms for rent. The location is not so close from Manhattan, about 40 minutes with subway. Neighborhood was okay, but nothing special around, just simple residential area including public housings.
Jun 27, 2019Great hosts. Nancy is lovely. If you needed to know anything Nancy was very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. The amenities were good. The area is very safe and the access to public transport meant you were never far away from the Big Apple. Would definitely stay there again if I was on my own.

Jun 27, 2019Our stay at Nancy's and Patrick's house was super great! It was close to the subway and the house / kitchen and our room was very clean. Nancy and Partick also gave us a ride to the airport again to pick up our suitcases a day after we had arrived. Next time in New York I would stay with them again!!

Jun 27, 2019Un lugar acogedor para visitar NY y accesible por su precio. Llegas fácilmente en metro a una estación cerca de la casa y resuelves el tema de movilizarte en la ciudad. Eso sí, debes tomarte el tiempo para movilizarte ya que las distancias son grandes. Te sientes como en casa, si estás acostumbrado a tener una buena limpieza en tu casa, es un lugar muy limpio y tranquilo para pasar los días de viaje. Puedes prepararte tu comida en una buena cocina, hacer un asado en un balcón de la casa, tienes tienda que abre hasta tarde y lavadora de ropa cerca de casa las 24 horas. Puedes conocer a otros viajeros que se encuentran en la casa, hay algunos cuartos más donde llega más gente. Y los anfitriones, Nancy y Patrick, te ayudan en lo que necesites, tendrás unos buenos anfitriones. Hemos pasada 10 días en NY en un buen lugar.
Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay in Brooklyn! The house is beautiful and had all that we needed. But most importantly, his owners welcomed us with a big smile and they were always open to help us with directions or just to chat. It's located in a safe neighborhood (we returned from Manhattan very late at night and didn't have any problem) and a short distance from the L train. We had approx 25 or 30 minutes to Manhattan by this train. But the rides is quick and you can see Brooklyn from above in the first couple of stops, pretty cool! Also in the neighborhood are various stores that have all that we travelers may need. Thank you Nancy and Patrick for your hospitality! We will recommend your place to everybody!

Jun 27, 2019Super séjour passé chez Nancy et Patrick. Nancy s'est montrée très disponible dès notre arrivée, en nous expliquant directement comment se rendre à Manathan. Petite cuisine sympa pour ceux qui souhaitent se faire à manger, sanitaires nickels, le tout dans un quartier très calme et très typique de Brooklyn. Nous avons pris un Uber pour nous rendre depuis l'aéroport. Le prix est correct (compter entre 23 et 31$). Le métro est à 900 mètres, tout droit en sortant de la maison. Métro à prendre à n'importe quelle heure du jour et de la nuit, il roule en continu et se prend sans crainte. En résumé, nous retournons avec plaisir chez Patrick et Nancy si l'occasion se représente.

The house is old and at first apprence seems to be in a rough neighbourhood however we walked through it all hours of the night and on one occasion very drunk and had no trouble. Nancy has a very high standard of cleanliness which was very noticeable the bathroom was very clean and so was the rest of the house and bedroom. Just one thing remember to walk like a ninja when in the house.

Ils nous ont permis de laisser les bagages après l'heure de départ prévue afin de profiter de la dernière journée sans êtres chargés et Patrick nous a appeler un taxi pour le départ. Nancy nous a laisser un pochon cadeau de départ avec des petites choses dedans (chocolat...) ce qui est très gentil ! La chambre était spacieuse et fidèle à la photo. La station de métro est à 10min à pied et on met environ 1h pour à peu près partout où l'on veut aller autour de ny, c'est peut-être le seul point négatif si l'on bouge beaucoup. Nous avons passer un agréable séjour. Merci à vous !
Jun 27, 2019Très bon séjour chez Patrick et Nancy, des personnes vraiment adorables, accueillants et attentifs. Le logement est parfait et propre . Il est situé à Brooklyn à 35 min en Metro de Manhattan, mais il y a beaucoup de Metro à chaque heures de la journée. Le quartier est plus ou moins sûr . Nous avons passé le séjour de nos rêve et notre logement y a bien contribué. Nous le recommandons à toute les personnes désirant se rendre à NY

Jun 27, 2019Our stay with Nancy and Patrick was entirely positive. They are both very friendly hosts and they made us feel relaxed and welcome in their home. Nancy has some basic house rules which ensure everybody staying at the house lives harmoniously in a clean and peaceful environment. We were very grateful for that because our room and the shared facilities were clean at all times. The house is warm, the room is cosy and the bed was comfortable. The location is great. It doesn't take long on the L line subway to get to Manhattan and there are lots of nice places to eat along the L line in Brooklyn itself. The neighbourhood is quiet and the subway station is a short walk in a straight line from the house. You won't get lost! The neighbourhood is like any other suburban area just outside of a city centre so just adopt the usual street-smart attitude you would anywhere else. We had no problems and felt safe. Considering how comfortable the accommodation is and the house's close proximity to the subway station, the price is really excellent. If you're on a budget you can even save money by cooking at the house. We wholeheartedly recommend staying with Nancy and Patrick and we'd love to return some day!

Jun 27, 2019Nancy and Patrick are truly awesome people! I had to stay here for 4 weeks and this whole time I super enjoyed my stay. Nancy is very sweet, cheerful and happy person. She will always help you if you need anything and is a great person to have a conversation with. Patrick is often out playing music, but if you get to see him, he is super cool guy. This place is clean, quiet and beds are soft. Everything you need for comfortable and peaceful stay you will find here. Train station is about 5-8 minutes walk. Withing 40 minutes you will be in Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn. Five stars, hands down. I would recommend this place to anyone - you will not regret.
Jun 27, 2019Nancy & Patrick are the best hosts in Brooklyn you can imagine. They have received me warmly although I was too late, because my flight was delayed. If you want to visit New York and you won't pay the hotels directly in Manhattan, this is the first option. With the "L"-Train it's just a short ride to Manhattan. The house is very comfortable and clean, also the neigborhood is very safe. There are very good rules that Nancy has in her house, but that makes it so special in a positive way. If you follow the rules it is like your own home far away from your home. Very much recommended.

Jun 27, 2019Lo que más me ha gustado han sido los anfitriones, personas cercanas, amables y dispuestas a ayudarte en todo, he tenido más contacto con Nancy en mis días aquí y es una mujer encantadora, cuidadosa de que todo esté en orden y limpio. La casa es bonita y confortable, mi habitación era amplia, luminosa y muy cómoda, sin duda repetiré. La única pega que podría poner, es que El Barrio está un poco apartado, por lo demás todo correcto, una experiencia única vivir en una zona tan auténtica.

Jun 27, 2019Cute little space with awesome amenities. Full kitchen use and the water pressure in the bathroom is great. Location isn't the best, it takes 40 min-1 hour to get to the city and you'll need to uber or take the train to go anywhere worth going within Brooklyn but for the price it was great, especially if you plan to be out all day anyway like we did. Nancy was very sweet and made us feel right at home.
Jun 27, 2019The stay was good, but people should beware that is far from Manhattan, so be careful when you take late night trains. Also, expect some noise during the night, which seems to be typical in all NYC. We heard so many police cars driving around at night but we don’t know if that was unusual. You have to be careful with the rules of the house, so try to understand everything before you get there. Nancy was available 100% of the time, so you will be heard if you need assistance.

Jun 27, 2019Very lovely place. Nice and spacious room with a very good bed. Peaceful apartment. Good kitchen and toilet. Hosts are willing to help straight away if there is any problem. Trip to Manhattan was quicker than I expected. L-train. I walked two times during the night back home from the train and I didn't have any problems.

Jun 27, 2019Patrick and Nancy's place was amazing!! It was exactly what we needed for our trip to New York. The place was clean and the hosts were super friendly. We also liked that we had a quiet place to sleep. the L train was few minutes away and it took us directly to Manhattan. Super conveniant and amazing value!
Jun 27, 2019Thank you Nancy&Patrick for staying at your home! Nancy is a great, nice and helpful person! The house is very nice and clean, with air condition in the room. The subway (L train) is very close, about 7 min. walk and it's about 1h to Manhattan, for us it was ok becouse we had a long stay and a lot of time. The neighbourhood it's ok, we did't have any issue. There is a very nice, long beach - Jacob Riis Park, about 15 min. by Uber - Nancy thank you for arrange it for us :)
Jun 27, 2019Nancy's place is cute, comfortable and quite. Nice easy access to the L train. 2 minute walk to one of the best and friendliest laundromats. Grocery store, hairdressers etc all very close. Had a great stay.

Jun 27, 2019If you’re looking for a place to stay with a reasonable fee in New York, this is the place. The commute from 105th Street to Manhattan takes around 45 minutes - 1 hour. Hence, plan your commutes. Other than that, everything was great. I may consider to stay at this place if I come to New York in the future.
Jun 27, 2019Patrick and Nancy are very nice and friendly, and I felt very happy to meet them and stay in their lovely and tidy place for my short trip in New York. The transportation is also quite convenient for me to visit downtown and anywhere in New York. Anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet and comfortable place for stay, I strongly recommend this cozy and wonderful place.
Jun 27, 2019We had a lovely stay at Nancy’s home. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time with Nancy as we were often out early and back late from exploring the city, but she was always very friendly when we did see her. There are some house rules to help keep the space clean which we were thankful for as it meant everyone was on the same page and the house was clean for our stay. The subway is a 10 minute walk away and the L train will take you to 14th St in Midtown in about 40 minutes.

Jun 27, 2019Nancy est très accueillante et à l'écoute. L'appartement est incroyablement propre et est vraiment sécurisé et bien organisé. Incroyablement silencieux ! La wifi y est très rapide. Le métro est à 10min a pied. Joli quartier ! J'y retournerai assurément ! A home away from home !
Jun 27, 2019This place is exceptionally clean and quiet, and the bedroom is quite big. Nancy was very accommodating and welcoming. The commute to Manhattan was a bit far, but it's no problem if you just plan for it. I was very happy with this place.
Jun 27, 2019All excellent! The place is cozy and clean. Nancy is very kind. It has a deli right on the corner and a supermarket 2 blocks away, the metro only 3 blocks away. Thanks for everything!
