We had a great weekend at Sanjay's place for a friend's birthday. The apartment is larger than it looks in the photos (4 of us were able to sleep comfortably in the studio) and was newly renovated, perfectly clean and well equipped with everything out could need. Near the subway & shops / restaurants, it's a great base in NYC.
Jun 27, 2019Sanjay Unterkunft war toll. Er ist sehr offen und hilfsbereit. Er half mit dabei wie ich ein Taxi anhalte ;) Die Lage ist top. Central Park & 5th Avenue sind sehr schnell zu Fuss erreichbar. Der Lärm kann für Leute die ihn nicht gewohnt sind sehr laut sein. Für mich persönlich war es sehr laut (Autos, Krankenwagen, Polizei, Feuerwehr, Bus, Personen die auf der Strasse lauter reden, die Haupteingangstüren hört man sehr gut zu fallen. Sonst war alles so wie im Bericht von Sanjay beschrieben.
Jun 27, 2019Nice, clean compact studio, located under 10 minutes walk away from the subway, with lots of F&B options within a 10-12 minute walk. On average, took us under 30 minutes to reach most spots within mid-town. Sanjay mentions it, and be prepared for some noise from the street, and for having to climb 2 floors on narrow steps. We had some bad luck with the AC settings, so please do clarify those with Sanjay at check-in. But for the automatic switch-off settings, the AC functions well.
Jun 27, 2019The Environment: We loved our stay at Sanjay's studio! First off, it is in a great, safe location very close to public transit. There are a number of great restaurants and shops all around the studio. The Studio: THE STUDIO IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK! The photos don't do it justice. I've stayed in a number of studios in NYC and this is by far the most spacious. We were pleasantly surprised! Note that you have to climb two flights of stairs to get to the apartment, however; that is very common in NYC especially in pre-war buildings. It is also beautifully decorated in an elegant yet modern theme and newly renovated. The apartment is very, very homelike and cozy. The kitchen has everything you would need, including a Keurig with K cups! The bathroom was very clean and the shower pressure is nice (hard to find in NYC). Towels, a hair dryer and shampoos/ body wash were also provided. As I mentioned before, the studio is large... so large that it fits a king size bed that is very comfortable. The A/C works great as it cools the entire studio. The TV includes Amazon Fire, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and all other regular channels. The Host: Sanjay is very communicative with messaging/ texting which I appreciated. We met him at the apartment and he gave us a rundown on the house rules and answered any questions we had. He and his girlfriend were nice enough to leave us a bottle of wine! Sanjay's studio is by far the best place I've stayed in when traveling to NYC. I plan on coming back to this apartment for my next NYC trip. Don't hesitate to book-- you won't regret it!

Jun 27, 2019A surprisingly freshly decorated studio that was very clean and proved to be a good value. Everything worked including WiFi and the large flat screen with Amazon Fire. Comfortable king size bed was a pleasant surprise. Completely outfitted for cooking and eating. Good location: one block to subway and crosstown bus. Grocery, bagel, and pharmacy within a block. Plenty of restaurant and bar choices nearby. Two flights up and 3rd Avenue traffic but well worth it for the great accommodations and convenience.
Jun 27, 2019I wish I could leave 6 stars for Sanjay and his stellar NYC pad. He was the most wonderful host and his place is absolutely outstanding. I cannot recommend it enough. Don't let any reviews regarding noise scare you away. New York is a city so yes, the hustle and bustle is unavoidable but it's also a part of what you get when you visit a big city. Sanjay's place is super close to wonderful bars, restaurants, Central Park, the metro, top notch gyms, and great shopping. The apartment itself has everything you need for a comfortable quality experience. Myself and three girlfriends were more than happy with our stay. Thanks Sanjay!

Jun 27, 2019Sanjay's place was perfect for our week in NYC. It's bigger than it looks, very comfy and the bed is HUGE! The kitchen has all we needed, grater, can opener, pealer, nutribullet, bowls, you name it, very well equipped. Same with bathroom, towels, hair dryer, they even leave shampoo and conditioner! The location is perfect! It was close enough from the museums and other attractions so we could go back, rest a bit and then back out to enjoy the early night. Very close to the subway which we used to get to all the attractions. Same with bus. Supermarket across the street and another a couple of blocks away. Awesome place overall. I'd recommend it and would stay there again.

Jul 27, 2019The place was clean and perfect. Had plenty of towels and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could need to cook and feel like you were at home. There was a grocery store right across the street to stock up the fridge among some restaurants and stores nearby. Sanjay wasn’t in town but his mother was there to greet me and answer any questions I had upon arrival. Both were in contact with me throughout my stay and even wished me well and congratulations on completing the New York City Marathon. It was the perfect distance to Central Park and numerous forms of public transportation to get around the city.

Jun 27, 2019Fantastic location - not far from central park and a walk from downtown. I found myself walking to Time Square on several occasions, it's not a short walk but very pleasant. Several restaurants at your doorstep too so easy to find something to eat. Really safe neighbourhood too, no trouble walking home late into the evening. Sanjay (the host) was incredibly thorough, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were given everything we needed to make Sanjay's place a home away from home.

Jun 27, 2019Sanjay's place was awesome! Sanjay was there to greet us at checkin and was easy to contact before and during our stay. The place was very clean and the bed was so comfy. We also really appreciated the keurig coffee and full stocked kitchen (especially the nights we got to-go food). We really liked the location. You're within walking distance to great restaurants & bars, pharmacy for basic necessities, Central Park, and the subway to get downtown. I highly recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Jun 27, 2019I had originally booked for a two night stay at Sanjay's Airbnb. Unfortunately, NYC had one of the worst storms in the past decade. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, My flight was cancelled over and over again. Instead of arriving Thursday afternoon, my flight was cancelled until Saturday morning. It was not the most fun trip for me but Sanjay understood, communicated and refunded the entire cost of the Airbnb cost back. Thanks again Sanjay. You've been awesome! :)
Jun 27, 2019Sanjay’s apartment was perfect for our long weekend in the city! The spacious studio apartment was clean and equipped with everything you could need. The location was great - in walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, and markets, as well as Central Park and major museums. There was also a subway station just around the corner. Sanjay was a great host. His communication made the check in and check out processes easy, and he responded right away to our questions. We had a great experience and would love to stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019Sanjay has a beautiful place. The apartment is as beautiful as you can see in the pictures. Spacey living room a king size bed and a very nice bathroom. The TV has any app that you could ever imagine, so don’t worry you will find something to watch. The apartment is also located in a beautiful area with many restaurants right next to you. I suggest Blake Lane for Brunch and if you want something fast the Chinese place downstairs is really good. Thank you for everything. Niccolo
Jun 27, 2019Overall we had a good stay at this very stylish, well decorated and comfortable studio. Just be aware that you are in a lively neighborhood on a busy street (3rd Avenue) on the second floor so they’re might be some noise. After all this is Manhattan. The place had everything we needed for our week stay. Shops, laundry and restaurants are plentiful around. Sanjay was a great host and very responsive which made us feel at home right away.

Jun 27, 2019You can not find a better host! Sanjay made our stay incredible. Location was centrally located to everything! 1.5 blocks to the subway and you are where ever you need to be. Neighborhood was super safe and comfortable, a few blocks from central park/museum mile. Sanjay's place was beautiful and met all of our needs. The bed was amazing and you literally melt into it. We appreciated the coffee and all the amenities he provided. Sanjay was quick to respond and checked on us to ensure our stay was perfect. He truly is passionate about the experience of his guests and we will stay here again.

Jun 27, 2019This was a perfect NYC away from home for our family of three for five nights. Our teenager slept in the convertible couch bed and thought it was comfortable. We slept in the king bed and it was great too. (There is standard NYC street noise but we were not bothered by it.) The apartment was warm during a week of cold weather. The kitchen has everything you need to eat meals in. We didn’t cook there but could have. We found great bagels a couple blocks away and enjoyed cakes from Harbs downstairs. If you like Thai, we recommend UpThai a few blocks away. The subway was a block away and Central Park with museums is a few blocks walk.sanjay was very responsive. There are a couple flights of steps to navigate but it helps burn off the Harbs cake, so well worth it.

Jun 27, 2019Sanjay is very responsive and flexible. He allowed me to drop off my bags a couple of hours early and leave them a little later after checking out. The apartment is comfortable with an excellent bed and well-appointed kitchen. I much appreciated the supply of Keunig coffee! Note: the key pickup and drop-off place is about 10” walk or .4 miles away from the apartment so with heavy cases or bad weather that would be a challenge.

Han hjalp os meget med tips og tricks ift. til specifikke ting vi gerne ville i løbet af vores ophold. Lejligheden er også fantastisk. Den er stilfuldt indrettet, ren og pæn, veludstyret og hyggelig. Der er alt hvad man skal bruge i køkkenet, også selv de basale fornødenheder som kaffe, te, salt, sukker, opvasketabs etc. Også badeværelset er veludstyret med sæbe, shampoo, hårtørrer, fladjern, kvindelige hygiejneprodukter og håndklæder. Sengen er virkeligt god at sove i, og sengelinned er inkluderet. Wifi fungerer upåklageligt og der er også en ladestation med adaptere til alle slags elektronisk udstyr og elektriske stiktyper, og der er paraply og strygejern. Vi brugte ikke fjernsyn eller sovesofa, så hvordan det fungerer ved jeg ikke. Vi kan kun give Sanjay og lejligheden min bedste anbefaling, vi ville bo her igen til hver en tid.

Jun 27, 2019At first, everything seemed fine. We got the keys from the lockbox located close to the apartment (2 sets of keys), then went to the apartment. After that is when things went downhill. There were 3 separate locks on the door, and of the 3, only the top one turned. The bottom lock refused to turn even though the key fit, and the doorknob itself was jammed. After facetiming with Sanjay, we resolved the situation and managed to get in. It turns out the door WAS jammed, and the upper lock wasn't great. Despite Sanjay saying the housekeeper had been there that day, there were stains on the bedsheets, the floor was dirty, and there was a strange half-empty drink in the fridge. In addition, later when Sanjay went back and checked, he would find a previous guest's belongings there. Clear evidence that the housekeeper had NOT been there. As two girls, we felt pretty unsafe about the situation now with the lock, and we wanted to look for housing elsewhere. Sanjay was very accommodating and gave out a refund quickly when we asked. I personally walked back to the 7/11 and returned the keys into the lockbox. This should have been the end of our communication, and I would have been happy to give 4 stars for the quick resolution. However, at 2:30am, Sanjay messaged and said that he didn't receive a notification for the keys being returned. I said that I had returned both sets into the same lockbox, and I also told him that because I had only swiped one fob when returning them, it might be an issue with him swiping a different fob from me when putting it in, as there were 2 sets of keys. At this point, it should have been easy for him to try and contact customer service for keycafe, as I later had to do. The situation could have been resolved entirely on his side. At 3:30am, I received more messages. He accused me of not having returned the keys and threatened to charge me again for the two nights (which airbnb had already refunded) if I didn't return the "stolen keys" within 30 minutes and said that I was lying about returning the keys from the directions that I gave. What if I had been asleep at 3:30am, a time at which almost anyone would have been asleep? In addition, he then said that he had only given me ONE set of keys. However, he KNOWS this is untrue because we had facetimed earlier and he had seen both sets. I had to contact keycafe personally to resolve the situation. By this time, it was around 4:30am, and Sanjay never even issued an apology afterwards for the accusation or the threat. This was a horrifying experience that I would never wish upon anyone.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed in Sanjay's apartment for 8 days recently. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left everything was fantastic. Being in New York it was great to have an apartment to come home to each day after exploring. The apartment has everything that you could ask for, and spotlessly clean. The king size bed was also great. Local restaurants only a short walk and supermarket over the road and bottle shop, what more could you want. Subway was just around the corner and so easy to get around New York. Would thoroughly recommend staying here, Sanjay is a wonderful host, was quick with any questions that we had during our stay.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great time in NY. The place is in a great location with lots of shops, and places to eat. About 10min walk from Centre Parks and a two underground lines, that gives you an option to get around NY. The coffee place on the corner has some amazing cakes, worth trying. The apartment is on a second floor and there is no lift to use, a bit hard with a lots of bags and a bad back. Very clean place, the only thing is that a bathroom needs an update and no iron and a board to use. Apartments has an aircon, but the noise from the street thru the hole in the window is crazy, and in ideal world would need to be fixed rather than a parcel tape around as a quick fix. The whole place / room the layout of is on a slopy side of it, very odd. It feels like you are staying in an old building in Amsterdam that has been ancient by the water, odd feeling but i guess for a few days it doesnt make a big change. Again we had an amazing time in NY, but i guess it what you make of it all. Thank you Sanjay :)

It had extra towels and linens galore, and the kitchen was the best stocked AirBNB we have ever stayed at (thanks for thinking of the containers to save leftovers!!!!!). Sanjay was a great host, he responded to all questions in a very timely manner, flat was very clean and stylish as you can see in the pictures. Flat is fully kitted with kitchen amenities and coffee machine etc. Which was very useful to have in the mornings. Couple of blocks down there are lots of bars/restaurants to eat out with plenty of choices so the location is also great. We are already considering going back to New York again and we’ll be in touch with Sanjay. Nilly & Martin

The place truly is spotlessly clean, the bed is super comfortable, and Sanjay is an incredible & thoughtful host! I had some seriously odd questions and a few interesting requests - and he came through every time ... even to the point of doing some research for me. Above and beyond at every turn. Jun 27, 2019Sanjay is a perfect host. Everything was perfect and clean. Lots of towels and the house have all you need in the bathroom and especially in the kitchen. Is only a little noisy cause you are on the 3 avenue , but all NY is like that. I really raccomand this flat!
Jun 27, 2019Sanjay is a thoughtful and amazingly responsive host. The studio is spacious, comfortable and very clean with updated features and a good eye for interior design. Everything you will need is here - and plenty of towels, coffee pods and pillows - just as an example in terms of where other places fall short. On the contrary, Sanjay went above and beyond to make us comfortable- before, during and after our visit. Your host and his home will not disappoint! One of the best of my AirBNB experiences!

Jun 27, 2019The apartment was adorable and cozy with lots of pillows and a very comfortable large bed. Kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower was relaxing. Parking is around the corner, 1 minute walk. I was happily surprised how quiet the street sounded at night, amazing sleep. Walking distance to Central Park & Museums were the added bonus. I recommend the restaurant downstairs & walk to the Pastrami Queen for lunch. Both are Incredibly Delicious.
Jun 27, 2019My wife and I enjoyed our stay in this nice little studio in the UES. We came with the intention of exploring the city as much as we could, and this apartment is situated perfectly near a couple major NYC trains. Loved being able to walk a block and jump right on the 6. The room had plenty of space and Sanjay makes sure to have everything you could possibly need to stay comfortable. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Big kitchen. Comfortable bed. Sometimes we forget how many items we have that need power, but our host had it covered with USB and power outlets all over the apartment. A bunch of them. It was also nice having a large refrigerator and freezer to save leftovers, something we often overlook in hotels. During the 4 days we were in NYC, it was under a heat advisory and that made traveling around the city on train or foot pretty miserable. The apartment has a unit that keeps it as cool as you would like, and we enjoyed coming back to it. We really did feel like we were at home in the apartment. It was so comfortable. The TV was big. WiFi was fast, but I will point out that we had none for the last 1.5 days of our stay. I tried to fix it but no dice. The box just stopped receiving an internet signal from the cable. It came back on once or twice for a few minutes but went out and never came back. It wasnt a big deal because we weren't in NYC to stay in the room and use WIFI, but should be taken into consideration if you're visting the city for reasons where you absolutely cannot live without it. Before it went out, it worked fast and with no drops. These things happen. We will definitely stay in this place again when we come back. Thanks again, Sanjay.

Jun 27, 2019Sanjay’s apartment turned out to be the perfect place/location for an extended NYC weekend with my teen aged daughter. The apartment was comfortable, very clean and appealing. We loved the location; it always felt like coming home after a daily excursion. Sanjay was super receptive and readily available for any questions that came up. When I return to New York, I'll be checking the availability of her place first!
Jun 27, 2019Sanjays place is in a great location and to top it off its incredibly clean and has really good quality linens and towels! My sister and I stayed 2 nights and really loved the luxury of staying in the upper east side. Easy walk to the park and madison ave shopping and all the museums. Sanjay was very responsive and even allowed me very early check in which was a huge help! Thanks! Just a small note to future guests the door may latch on its own when closed so do not leave without ur key. I would definitely stay here again!

Jun 27, 2019Wonderful studio space. I stayed with a friend and we were impressed with how nice he made the place. We shared the king bed which was very comfortable and covered with nice, fluffy pillows and soft linens. We didn’t need to cook anything but had we, supplies would have been available. We loved that there was a grocery store across the street and the area felt safe for two women. Sanjay was excellent about checking in with us to see how we got in, how our first day was..etc. I would stay here again.

The place is spotlessly clean, he has provided absolutely everything that you'll need (and then some), the bed is super comfortable, and the location in the Upper East Side can't be beat! Check in is a breeze with one of 2 convenient Key Cafés, and Sanjay is a lovely host ... always very responsive and helpful.
Jun 27, 2019Place is smaller than i expected. I understand NYC manhattan has space issues, but a week before i had found a different airbnb in west village that was same price but bigger space. Building is old and common areas are dirty and not pleasing to look at. On the plus side, there is an excellent chinese restaurant below as well as a nice tea and cake shop nearby. This would not be my choice again when i visit NYC. Apartment is clean, bed is firm, has nice coffee place and fast internet and decent TV.

It’s a quick commute into the city (however note that the 6 does not stop at the 77th exit on weekends). Also just a few blocks from Central Park!! So fun to walk over and enjoy some coffee in the park. The apartment is warm and snuggly! The kitchen is fully stocked and their is coffee waiting! Plenty of towels in the bathroom! For a hot shower, you may need to run the water for a few minutes while it heats up!! The bed is very comfortable and lots of cozy pillows to snuggle!! As most places in NYC, there is street noise (the trash men come at night)...but with the help of some white noise we had a very comfortable sleep!! Sanjay is very easy to communicate with! The apartment was very clean! The key pick up and drop off is 5 blocks away so just know that in advance as you are planning your day!!

Jun 27, 2019My husband and I just wrapped up a 4 day stay at Sanjay's apartment and we couldn't have been more pleased! From the moment we booked the place all the way to check-out, the experience (communication, cleanliness, apartment features, etc.) could not have been better! It's evident Sanjay takes great pride in providing 5-Star accommodations ... the king size bed and pillows are incredible, there's no lack of coffee / creamer, the bathroom and kitchen are stocked with all your required necessities ... the list goes on and on. Put your mind at ease and book Sanjay's apartment as you'll have no regrets! It's truly a hidden gem.

Jun 27, 2019Sanjay is a pro when it comes AirBNB. It is an easy transaction to get the key, and the apartment is lovely. Comfy king bed, large TV, thoughtful amenities - including single-serve Half & Half, and Keurig coffee maker. He’s thought of it all. And, if you questions he is responsive.
