Beach, cafes, playgrounds, ocean pool. Neighbours on the right are an extremely quiet family. The other neighbours are a small block of units.

There is no air conditioning & no central heating. There are fans, heaters & electric blankets. There Native Stingless bees in the garden behind the back fence. They look like tiny flies and are harmless. There are Honey Bee hives behind the fence. Please do NOT go behind the back fence or approach the Honey bees.

Jul 27, 2019Ons verblijf in Maroubra Beach was zeer goed. Het huis ligt ideaal op slechts twee minuten lopen vanaf het strand. De baai is mooi, met veel surfers en een groot breed strand. Met het openbaar vervoer is de trip naar Sydney centrum goed te doen. Met twee kleine kinderen was de afstand misschien iets te groot (zo'n 45 min tot aan Circular Quay) maar als volwassene is het prima. Het huis hadden we helemaal voor onszelf en ideaal was de tuin aan de achterkant. Iedere avond hebben we hier de bbq aangestoken en heerlijk gegeten. Al met al was het een zeer goed verblijf.
Jun 27, 2019Fantastic location only a minutes walk from the awesome Maroubra surf beach. We hired the whole property which slept eight of us comfortably. The house was well equipped and the host had allowed use if all her kitchen gadgets. It was child friendly too. There was an excellent playground by the promenade and an ocean filled pool a 10 minute walk away. Good transport links to the Harbour area and other local beaches. Easy walk to supermarket with taxi back. Lovely row of cafés minutes from house with excellent choice of food and Seals club also. We had a fantastic stay in Maroubra!
Jun 27, 2019Marcelle's house is clean, big and comfortably accommodates 8 adults. If you love reading, there are plenty of books in the living area and kitchen. The beach is 2 minutes walk from the house and a grocery shop nearby. On the day of arrival, Marcelle was at the house to welcome her guests. My fellow Rotarians enjoyed their stay. I never got to meet Marcelle but our communication was easy and reliable. She even rearranged the bedrooms to meet our specifications. The WIFI at the house functions perfectly well and I was enable to keep in touch with our team in Maroubra while in San Souci. One can easily access the CBD by a short bus ride to the train station. I would highly recommend a stay at Marcelle's residence to Sydney visitors looking for a beach-side house in a quite neighborhood.

The house is spacious and well appointed with convenient access to the laid back Maroubra lifestyle or easy access to the city as required . Marcelle left clear and concise instructions on everything to do with the house and further information for people not familiar with Sydney .
Jun 27, 2019We have a good stay at Marcelle's house at Maroubra Beach. The house is equipped with almost everything except WiFi and cloth dryer. Marcelle is very helpful and got us a hairdryer when we requested one from her. The only bad experience we had is from the dirty floor at the kitchen area. Just wear shoes inside the house if you don't want to have black ink on your barefoot. We informed Marcelle about the floor and she quickly cleaned it but still not perfect. Location of the house is only a few minutes walk to the beach and only 15 minutes drive to Sydney city or airport provided there is no congestion. Overall, we are happy with the stay but it would be better if the house get cleaned regularly and hygiene level is improved.
Jun 27, 2019There were 8 of us staying in this home and it was confortable and welcoming. The 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were key for our stay and met our needs.The home was ready for us when we arrived and even thought it was not necessary it was available for late checkout. The community provided necessary groceries, a restaurant or 2 and coffee shops. I really wish we had gone in the summer as Mercelle's home is a quick walk to the beach.

Jun 27, 2019Marcelle's house was a great place to stay. It's only a stones throw from the beach(best beach in the Eastern Suburbs) and even closer to a variety of coffee shops. Public transport is easily accessible from the house too. I would recommend this house to any anyone coming to see Sydney, especially since it can sleep up to 10 people.

Jun 27, 2019It was a pleasure staying in Marcella's home. The house was well presented; each room even had travel toiletries. The beds were comfortable and everyone enjoyed a good night sleep despite a small amount of noise from the neighbours. Location was perfect, only a 5min walk to the beach and a short cab ride from the airport (~$50 for a maxi cab). There were some lovely cafes and restaurants in walking distance and looked as though even more were about to open up. Marcella was a fantastic host and I would definitely not hesitate to recommend a stay in her home.

Jun 27, 20194 bee hives in the backyard when the host knew we were bringing children was not a good start. House needed a good airing out and kitchen a thorough wipe down. Also tv and dvd not working. Once we had come to terms with these drawbacks, the place was fine but not worth $500 a night in our opinion.

Jun 27, 2019Flying in from interstate, Marcella was flexible with arrival and departure times. House was very clean and in ideal location for beach and cafes. Felt very welcome with tea, coffee, cereal, milk etc. Marcella supplied beach towels for us all on request. All 9 of us really enjoyed our stay and would loved to have stayed much longer.
Jun 27, 2019The house was perfect for our needs -- two minutes from the beach and close to shops, restaurants, the pub and a frequent bus service to Bondi Junction and Sydney. The house is more spacious than it looks in the photos -- six people spanning three generations could have been difficult but it wasn't, we never felt on top of each other. The rooms were all very nice and the kitchen well-equipped for the most part. We all enjoyed our stay, Marcella was very accommodating when we requested an additional night. I would definitely recommend this to my friends.
Jun 27, 2019Marcella was a great host. Trying to organise holiday accommodation for 8 adults is never straightforward, but Marcella made life a lot simpler! She responded quickly to messages and was very flexible, giving me the option of adding an additional bed when my guest numbers changed last-minute. The house is in a great location, 1 block away from a great beach & close to cafes and shops. The house is spacious (includes parking!) and each room is quite large - great place to stay.

Jun 27, 2019We were a party of seven including two children and one toddler. Marcella's descriptions of the the house were accurate and communication with her was very good. Her directions were clear and arrangements for collecting the key etc. clear and easy. The house was very close to the beach, shops and bus stops, we hardly needed to use the car while we were there. There was plenty of room in the house to each have our own space as well as communal space. We particularly liked the outside shower which was great to use after spending time at the beach. Marcella provided plenty of beach towels, which were much appreciated especially by our overseas visitors. The fans in each room were much appreciated as it was hot in Sydney while we were there. The neighbours were noisy a couple of times, this was more of a concern to us as there were young children in our party. We enjoyed our stay and Marcella's house was good value for money.

Jun 27, 2019My family and I had a good stay at the accommodation. Marcella had clear instructions on necessities pasted around the house. The house has 4 bedrooms which are spacious ebough for up to 10 people! Also, there is a cardboard full of books of different categories, good for avid readers! The house is easily accessible to shops and eateries. The best thing the fact that it is so near to the scenic beach! Good for families or friends who want a short getaway!
Jun 27, 2019We stayed in a group of 11 and absolutely loved the house. It was clean and comfortable. Marcella provided everything we needed and more. While there are many books and household items of hers around, she made sure there was plenty of storage for us including heaps of space in the fridge and wardrobe space in each room. The location of the house is perfect. A very short walk to the beach but off the main drag so not too busy. Most importantly everything was as described or better. Thank you for opening up your space for us.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great weekend. Marcella's house is beautifully placed near the beach a little hospitality strip. We didn't spend a lot of the time at the house, but enjoyed the fact is was reasonably close to Randwick Racecourse (what we were there for) and not too far away from the city. If you go there, make sure you check out the Spanish Restaurant just around the corner. It was absolutely superb.

There was a great fenced park 2 min walk away for the kids. Well appointed, warm and homely with a fantastic library (which time did not permit me to enjoy). Would definitely recommend this place to a group of several families or friends.

Jun 27, 2019Marcella was very easy to contact and graciously accommodated my requests for early check in and late check out. We had no problems during our stay. (was a little cold at night but it was expected in winter and all the beds had electrical heaters) The house felt like a friend's home and was comfortable to stay in. There were 8 of us and the house did not feel cramped at all (except for when we had to take turns using the 2 bathrooms but that was not a big issue) The neighborhood was nice and quiet with no concerns about security. Parking was ample for 2 cars on the drive and there was plenty of street parking (just be careful if you have low lying cars as the driveway has an awkward angle that will give your bumpers a some affection especially if the car is loaded with passengers - found this out the hard way) All in all a very pleasant experience for my first AirBnb stay :) Thanks Marcella!
Jun 27, 2019I needed a house for 6 of my operators as we were working nights at the Sydney Airport. We booked with Marcella as the location was perfect, we had a few hiccups with our start date on the run way and Marcella was nothing but a delight to deal with, she accommodated us the best she could and it is very much appreciated. We needed to add additional nights onto our stay and this was not a problem. Marcella is a amazing and from the feedback from my operators (6 men) the house is fantastic. We as a company and myself as an individual will defiantly book with Marcella at the City Surf Sun & Sand again.

Her place was very spacious and more than enough room for our group. Accommodation was generally quite clean but perhaps the upstairs wasn't used as often so it was a bit dusty. We had a small welcome pack which was a very nice touch! The extensive library was very impressive, wished we have more time to make more use of it.

Jun 27, 2019The house is very clean & roomy. The location is excellent, minutes walking to beach and only half an hour bus to CBD. The book collection in the living area is a huge bonus. After a long day, it's great to read a lovely book. Many books I have as well, so it is more like reading at home.
Jun 27, 2019This would make a perfect stay for a group of 8-10! Marcella has a cosy home with comfortable beds. She was a helpful host who considered all our needs and made suggestions and arrangements for us accordingly. The house is located a short walk away from the beach and local cafes for our coffee runs. We had 12 people (so we really pushed the limits!) and Marcella helped us arrange all the beds as we needed and allowed us the use of the couch and a spare single mattress - I especially appreciated the linen and towel which was set out in the lounge room for these two; it added a friendly welcoming touch! The comprehensive information provided in our Airbnb communications was also printed out and visible on the fridge so we didn't have to keep checking our phones. There was an ample number of power point spaces - crucial so there's no fighting over phone chargers. The only issue we had was that we couldn't turn on the fan ventilation in the kitchen despite following the instructions and pushing on all the buttons, there was a light which indicated something was on, but no fan. It made for a pretty stuffy kitchen especially since we happened to be there when it rose to 38 degrees. We tried to open up the back door but there were too many flying insects and mosquitoes all too eager to fly in and join the feast. We made do and had an enjoyable time regardless.

Keys provided so we were able to move in without any hassle. all bedding was clean. i was concerned about 10 adults all staying on one place, the bedroom space was excellent with everyone having enough room at night, however the living space is small and we were not able to sit together anywhere in one room which was a shame as it was a special family get together - i recommend not too many adults because of this. - dining space max 6 people. limited outdoor space to sit and eat. besides this, it was a great opportunity to have time with people we hadn't seen for a very long time and this made up for it all thanks
Jun 27, 2019Our stay was lovely. Marcella was very accommodating and her home was lovely. Location was great, only a few min walk to the shops and the beach. Great communication and response from the start. She even let us have a late check out and was very understanding when one of the guests accidentally took a key home. I would definitelt recommend staying here.

Clean, neat, tidy, quiet, plenty of room and just a stones throw to nice cafes and the beach. If you're looking for something just a little quieter than busy Bondi, this is it! She was also so accommodating when our trip plans got changed and had to arrive a day later than originally planned. Jun 27, 2019This is a very good location to the beach and near to CBD. The property is comfortable however it's quite dusty on the second floor and there's a lot of mosquitoes around the house. Some of us got bitten quite badly but owner did provide insect repellent. Bad luck for us on power failure on the 2nd day but owner got it fixed so no complaint on that, although update can be more prompt to remove the anxiety we faced when approaching the night time with the problem still outstanding.

The location is really nice, only 2 min walk to a beautiful beach and also there are many great cafes around. However house was a bit dusty and older than we were thinking. There were some insects and cockroaches around. It wasn't big enough for 10 adults specially if you are traveling with family as there wasn't enough space in the living room for late night gatherings!

Large kitchen and living space worked well for us also. The beach and cafes were literally around the corner - ideal location. Space to park our cars was great as well. Jun 27, 2019Marcella is a great host and available to contact as required. as this is a used house (not just rental space) the house is full of useful kitchen/living items to make the stay more user-friendly, although some may feel it is somewhat "busy". There is an extensive library for anyone with time to explore. The property is ideal for exploring Maroubra and the beach. Internally it feels a little dark without lights on- possibly due to proximity of other buildings and mature vegetation at the rear. Heat at the time meant we needed fans in every room which were provided. Overall a great site and well located.
Jun 27, 2019We had total 7 people stayed for 3 nights. We all enjoyed a lot your spacious and tidy house!!! Walkable distance to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants, close to airport and downtown, your house is a really good place for a gang of friends or family for holiday!

Jun 27, 2019The location of the house is excellent due to its vicinity to the Maroubra beach and downtown city. The house is spacious, good enough for a big family or a group of friends. It's also nice that the house has lots of cooking utensils that allow you to prepare food so we can make our own food sometimes. The host is also very nice to let us use the seasoning in the kitchen. The only comment of the house is a bit older than we expected and we encountered small insects inside. The repellent that was provided in the house was useful in that case. Overall speaking, it's a nice stay for my family.

Jun 27, 2019Marcella's house was perfect for our reunion of two families (each of 2 adults and 2 kids). Both families were comfortable and at the same time not feeling that they were living on top of each other. The house had everything we needed to have meals in as well as a good choice of venues within 5 minutes walk. The area is great with the nice beach on the doorstep. The city was easy to access (40 mins by bus traffic permitting) with the bus stop just around the corner. No complaints from us and we will definitely consider staying again should we require so many beds!

Jun 27, 2019A really great place to stay, handy to public transport and the beach. Off street parking is a bonus because it gets very hard to find a park on the weekends. The beds are comfy and there are plenty of them. 7 seniors stayed for one week and none of us have any complaints. There are plenty of kitchen utensils, plates, cups, glasses etc if you need them. We dined out quite a lot at the local restaurants which had pretty good tasting food. Next time we need to be in Sydney we will definitely be staying at Marcella's place, its got everything we need and it's close to the beach. Thank you for having us Marcella.

The Maroubra "Seals Club" near by offered a venue which could easily cater for our large group providing great meals at cheap prices.

Jun 27, 2019Nice and quiet neighbourhood. Extremely close to Maroubra Beach and several cafes and restaurants. House has a lived in, comfy feel with dozens if not hundreds of books on several bookshelves. Access was quick and easy and Marcella was easily contactable for all our questions. Internet is not blazingly fast but was more than sufficient for our needs.

House was clean and comfortable, Well equipped with what we needed, clothes washer, electric iron, complete kitchen items since we did a lot of cooking esp. breakfast in the mornings. The backyard space was great for entertaining guests. The location was ideal, near the beach and walking distance to the bus stop going downtown. Marcella was very accomodating and helpful and was ready to help when we needed an extra key to unlock a bedroom and when the faucet in the kitchen sink got loose. Will definitely recommend this place for future stay. Thank you, Marcella for our positive new experience with the Airbnb.
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time at this place. The location is fabulous with access to food outlets, a great coffee shop, Chalk and Clubs, providing multiple options to eat out. The beach is so close and the bus stop a few minutes easy walking, with two buses to the Circular Quay, taking approx. 40 mins. Marcella's place is lived in, most of the beds are comfortable, the fans in the rooms were a great idea as it was warm when we there. Marcella communicated well and was responsive to questions. Check in was easy.

The place is lovely, it was perfect for our big group and we all had a wonderful time there. And so close to the beach! We felt very welcome during our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place for a group in Sydney.
Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay at Marcella's place. 4 big bedrooms spread over 2 levels means everyone had plenty of their own space. The fact that it is a 1 minute walk to the beach with plenty of cafes in between meant we could wander between the house and beach very easily! Great little outdoor area with table and chairs as well. Highly recommend it!

Once that was sorted everything went smoothly and Marcella was very accommodating with any requests I had. Thanks heaps Marcella.

Jun 27, 2019Marcella's home is a great for a group of 10-11 people. It was great to find a home that could accommodate a big group and still provide single bed options. The house was nice and cosy, had good sized living spaces and is so close to Maroubra beach, cafes, restaurants and shops. Parking is competitive but thankfully Marcella has a drive-way that you can park the car in. The electric blankets were a nice touch for those who may stay during winter. Our group was comfortable and had plenty of space - thanks for the great stay!

Jun 27, 2019Our group of 14 friends and family has just had a very comfortable stay at Marcella’s house over the June long weekend. The communication with her was smooth, and the detailed info sheet and the house rule book explained all that we needed to know. She was also kind enough to rearrange the time for the post-departure cleaner so we could spend some extra time – which allowed me to go surfing and the others enjoy a walk along the beach. I’d recommend Marcella’s house for those seeking a comfortable/spacious place to stay close to a beautiful beach.
Jun 27, 2019Wow. What a fantastic location. We parked our cars and walked to club, cafes, beach in a few minutes. The food at these places was also excellent. Marcella was so accomodating and her home was perfect for our large group of friends. We will definitely be returning if Marcella will have us but hopefully for more than 1 night. Jun 27, 2019Marcella's place is very big and got lots of book. Near to the beach. But the floor is quite dirty and dust. We even need buy a mop to clean it by our own as we need to stay there for 4 days. Overall is great and nice.

Jun 27, 2019Great location, 2 minute walk to maroubra beach, local cafes and places within walking distance. The beach is beautiful and the area is not so far from the airport. Around 15-20 minute drive. The neighbourhood is quiet, and peaceful. Cleanliness of the place could have been better, with it being abit dusty and a few cockroaches here and there. Other than that, the hosts are quite friendly, easy to communicate with and easy going.

Jun 27, 2019Marcella's place is in a great location just minutes to walk from shops and restaurants. Loved the enviro conscious rubbish system and the full book shelf in the open kitchen/dining area. The house is cosy and our group loved the back yard to enjoy a coffee chat or our meetings together. Saying that, it would have been quite crowded to have them indoors ( rainy days?). We were there with 15 people, which i believe is too big a group for Marcella's house. The fridge capacity as well as sleeping arrangements ( if you look for average comfort in space and matresses) as well as dining space were not sufficient to host that many adults. Marcella answered to my inquiry for 'what to do?" but could unfortunately no find solutions to our space problems. They stayed unaddressed and no compensation was offered. All in all it s a 3 out of 5 for us.

Jun 27, 2019If you want to be near the beaches it’s at a strategic location and excellent if you want to be near Maroubra beach. Very near shops - cafes, restaurants, small convenient stores. Within the area but not walking distance are many shopping centers including Westfield Eastgardens. This house is really about location. Actually house is cosy and spacious enough but it’ll be better if it is neater and cleaner. Walls are thin so big groups staying in the house can expect noise being heard anywhere in the house - you will hear people talking in the dining room downstairs and walking up/down the stairs when you are in the upstairs bedrooms.

Jun 27, 2019Unfortunately, the house was not cleaned properly and meant that we had to wear shoes inside to stop dirt and grime from collecting on our socks/feet. Also, the house is very dark, the lounge and dining area (which are the only communal areas) felt like a cave most of the time. But is a great location in Maroubra and was quite affordable by Sydney standards.
