Rules
Unit will be cleaned prior to your checkin. Cleaning service can be provided during your stay for a fee. Please remove footwear before entering the unit, rinsing/dusting off any residual sand before entry. Please leave the unit reasonably clean at checkout. Amenities include cooking basics; shampoo, body wash, and soap for normal skin types; a set of linens; and a bath towel and a beach towel for each guest. A couple of detergent pods will also be provided for immediate laundering/washing needs (Target and Longs Drugs carry more of the same if needed). No lifeguards on duty at the local beach, so please exercise water safety. There is a pool at the rear on the owner’s end of the property that is gated-off for the safety of guests and is not available for use (recall you have Kailua Beach!). Groundskeepers periodically on premises to keep the exterior of the property looking its best. To minimize disruption, they generally conduct their work after 8AM. Located in a residential ne

The location of this guesthouse can’t get any better. Private beach access to the beautiful Kailua beach (about three houses down) literally made it ideal for a beach stroll every morning with my cup of coffee. Easy check-in/communication process with all necessary amenities provided. Comfortable bed and sofa bed. Everything looked new and recently renovated. Lots of natural light and the quiet neighborhood where you can hear the birds and the wind made it really peaceful. Highly recommend it!
Jun 27, 2019John’s guesthouse was the perfect Hawaii getaway. The house is bright and airy and offers a lot of privacy. It is impeccably clean and stocked with many of the conveniences you could ever need on a vacation. Best of all is the immediate beach access. We were in Hawaii for a short time to recharge from a busy schedule and never had to leave Kailua, being just seconds from the most beautiful beach on Oahu and so close to Kailua’s restaurants and stores. Highly recommended!
Jun 27, 2019My family with 2 kids stayed at John’s place for a week. The place was located a few houses from the beach in a quiet neighborhood (you can hear the birds all day long). It’s very easy to access the beach so we visited it everyday. Everything was new in the house and had all amenities we needed. We didn’t met the host, but he responded promptly and kindly on our emails before and during our visit. John was a perfect host and we would love to come back.
Jun 27, 2019Location can't be beat. I live in town, but wanted to escape the hustle and bustle. The house is on a cul de sac with private access to famous Kailua beach (less than 2 min!). It's a quiet stretch only used by local residents, so the beach is not crowded and feels like your very own paradise. Although set away from the traffic, it' only an 8 minute drive to Kailua town (Whole Foods, restaurants, etc), so still convenient to everything. The place is newly contructed; it was as if I was the first person using it, from the equipped kitchen to the Bosch washer/dryer. Super clean and new. Felt more like a hotel than other airbnbs. The bed is comfy memory foam and the mirror even has a button to turn on the light! Lovely place to stay. Bonus was the easy parking, which is not always available at other airbnbs in the area.
Jun 27, 2019Loved my stay here! Peaceful beach neighborhood with garden views. Guest house is large and bright and comfortable. Cannot say enough about the quick access to beautiful Kailua beach and shops and restaurants. Will definitely return next time I’m back in Kailua!

Jun 27, 2019I considered various options for my family (hotels, apartment hotels, vacation properties, etc). Prices for a hotel with kitchen and parking in a good location (basic necessities when travelling with a family including a child) were sky high! I was fortunate to find John’s property. It had basically everything we needed including plenty of parking, full kitchen, laundry, large step in shower, ample towels, sheets, etc. We spent most of our time at the beach which is behind a secured gate restricted to residents of the small street. Host supplied various beach equipment including beach toys for my child. Didn’t get to explore the Kailua town area but Wholefoods and other markets were just minutes away for basics and quick takeaway. Highly recommended for small families looking for convenience and value.
Jun 27, 2019John was inviting and responsive via texts. We didn't meet in person but the communication was on point. He even notified us about the false missile crisis. Anything you asked he was available via Airbnb app or personal phone. The space was exactly as described. Clean, organized and little surprises from John or previous guests. The beach nearby was the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle from the city. Kailua was a great choice for a city be in. It's quaint and away from the loud traffic and touristy trap of waikiki. John's place was the first leg of our honeymoon. He left surprises on our front door which was a great gesture! He was respectful and gave us the privacy we needed. Next to or even the best airbnb stay so far. Mahalo John!

Jun 27, 2019John’s house is really beautiful, clean and good location to the most beautiful sea in Hawaii. John is good guy and strongly supports your stay in Kailua. You can clean your cloths by yourself and cook everything. work to the sea is just 5 min and you can run in the morning time at the beach. It is 30 min to Waikiki and enjoy morning market, starbucks, whole foods at Kailua.
Jun 27, 2019Check in was self service with a lockbox, and although the unit shares a wall with the owner's space, we felt like we were staying in our own separate property. Our only interaction was via text, and of course, when he left us Alohamacs at the end of our stay :) The rental had everything one could want for a week's stay at the beach! It was so well appointed. The cul-de-sac's private beach access made the place an incredible value. We were close enough to bike to downtown Kailua, but far away enough to be in a really nice neighborhood. Definitely coming back!
Jun 27, 2019Love the direct walking access to the beach and quiet neighborhood. John was great with communication and provided seamless info for check in and checkout. The studio was so clean and well equipped! Bed was reasonably comfortable and not some squeaky old bed. Definitely one of the cleanest Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at with great amenities with details like parking, soap, shampoo, beach chairs, and clean decent towels. I appreciated all the little touches it had which made things so convenient for our quick trip. On our last day he left a personal thank you card and chocolates, which was dug a nice gesture. Thanks John for such a great experience and I look forward to staying here again in the future!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time in Oahu, and John’s Airbnb was excellent, exceeding our expectations. The place has been recently remodeled & felt fresh and modern. Location is superb, on a quiet cul-de-sac road in a residential neighborhood, with very close (a couple of minutes walk) private access to Kalama beach. Our children enjoyed playing on the beach and it seemed to be non-touristy with locals going on their morning walks / jogs. Shops (supermarkets) and downtown Kailua are close; a 5-10 min drive will get you everything you need. Even though we didn’t see John he was communicative and we appreciated his emails checking in with us during our stay. Thoroughly recommend this place and looking forward to a return visit!
Jun 27, 2019This place was perfect for my little family of four! My husband and two young children immediately felt comfy in the space and made ourselves at home! The couch folded out into a queen bed that was perfect for the kiddos. The small tv on the pictures shown did make the space look cheap but in person the entire studio was very nice with high end renovations. Everything was clean and easy to access and John was quick to respond when we had an issue getting connected to the internet. We cooked breakfast every morning and made lunches to take to the beach. A boogie board, sand toys, and a set of snorkel gear was also provided for us to use. The residential street it is located on was clean and picturesque. The beach was only a short walk down a private, gated alley/walkway (which my kids loved) once you get toward the end of the path it opens up to the most beautiful beach scenery! Our favorite part of our trip was our early morning strolls to beach. When it came time to end our stay, my kids didn’t want to leave! We loved our stay here and definitely recommend it to anyone else looking for an easy getaway in Kailua.

Jun 27, 2019John and his place were beyond my expectations. This was such a beautiful space that was well represented in the photos. The entire space feels brand new and in wonderful condition. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable by creating a mini site to view before check-in and had recommendations about local life curated in a binder on the coffee table. He was very respectful and quick to answer any questions we had. The location is excellent, just steps from a quiet beach that my wife and I enjoyed watching the sunrise on almost every morning. If you're looking for a stay in Kailua, stop looking, this is it.

Jun 27, 2019Great location. Very close to beach. Need a car to get to town -but great food in town. We liked nico’s buzz’s, kono’s and the farmer’s market on Sunday. Clean space and very updated. Was perfect for a few days with our family of four. John was very pro active with communication and tips. Thank you!
Jun 27, 2019We spent a week at John’s rental with our 18 month old daughter. We absolutely loved the location and access to the beach for morning and evening walks. The space is clean, quiet and not cluttered, yet well appointed with everything you need. We appreciated the fresh modern finishes and new appliances. The fenced yard with well manicured grass made a great play area for our baby. John is a great host and was very responsive and even offered early check in and late check out options. I would recommend having access to a car if traveling with a baby. Although the area seems very walkable, we used a car to run errands and take a few day trips to other attractions on the island. Overall this was one of the best vacation rentals we have had.
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I were blown away by John's hospitality. The private beach made our stay, along with all the beach gear John kindly provided. Super close to Whole Foods, Target, yummy shave ice, with plenty of great breakfast spots all around. Mahalo, John! Can't wait to return.
Jun 27, 2019This little house was absolutely perfect with all the things needed for an extended stay. Lots of amenities like a washer/dryer and dishwasher for easy cleaning and also quality beach equipment (chairs, cooler, umbrella, etc.) that we can use. These little things add up to make the stay a memorable one. The little private beach access was also a nice perk - no need to fight for parking at the beach; just load up the cooler (with wheels!) and take a quick walk down the path and you're there! John was quick with communication and provided instructions for check-in ahead of time in case we had any questions. He also provided a list of things to do and places to eat in case you're new to the area/island. John even left a box of alohamacs at the door on our last day. Definitely would stay here again when we visit Oahu again!

Jun 27, 2019What a fantastic find! The place was outstanding and location on point. The space was extra clean and had all the amenities we needed to make our trip and stay comfortable. The kitchen appliances were top of the line, washer dryer a must for a stay with a little one, and location on the beach enjoyable. The town of Kailua was quaint and had everything you needed from Whole Foods, Starbucks, Jamba Juice and a Farmer's Market on Thursday nights. John was super hospitable and easy to reach. He provided recommendations on local restaurants and accommodated an early check in and later check out. He was a fantastic host and we can't wait to make a trip back.

Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay at John’s cute studio! It’s so close to Kailua beach and we loved taking morning walks down to watch the sunrise. The space is modern and perfectly simple, and we loved being able to spend time in a private yard as well! I would highly recommend this place.

Jun 27, 2019It was our best Airbnb experience ever! I would highly recommend this place! John is very helpful and responds very quickly. The check-in and out is simple and easy. The location is superb! A nice quiet neighborhood and it's a 3min walk to the best beach on Oahu. You won't see many people at the beach so it feels like you have the whole beach to yourself. My son and I went to the beach every morning and afternoon. The sunrise at the beach is also breathtakingly beautiful. A short drive to the supermarket and local restaurants. The room is very clean and spacious enough for a small family. The room is also very well equipped. We would definitely stay here again (and again) when we go back to Oahu! :)

Jun 27, 2019This place is fantastic for two people. Clean and in a quiet neighborhood which is easy to navigate in a car. The walk to the semi-private beach will take ~5 minutes at a leisure pace (maybe depending on how much you're carrying). Get ready to relax!
Jun 27, 2019The house is so clean and immaculate with high end beds, finishes, and appliances! Truly felt like home! Location is perfect as the beach is a five min walk (if that) and downtown Kailua is a very close drive. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Hawaii!

Jun 27, 2019Johns place was great! Everything you could possible need and close to the beach. Super quiet neighborhood. He provided several Boogie boards, kids sand toys, snorkel gear and more. He even purchased children’s life vests for my kids to use while we stayed there! Next time I visit Oahu, I’m staying at Johns!

Jun 27, 2019John is a great host and super responsive if you have questions during your stay. The place itself is very clean and modern and very close to the beach. The amenities are perfect if you want to go to the beach (chairs, boards, cooler) and the AC is clean and quiet. The beach access is not bad as you walk down a narrow, private pathway but it opens up to a narrow part of the beach without much cover. The east side of the beach is a little better, especially if you have a young toddler like we had.

Privacy has been kept in the property, and everything we need was in place in the room. We relaxed in this comfortable and clean room as if we were at home. John responded quickly and provided necessary information at a good timing. He is a excellent host. We want to stay at John's house when we come back to Kailua again.

We found John's place and he replied very quickly. The place was nice and clean and ready for our worker as soon as he landed. John made everything very easy for us and was very accommodating when we needed to make last minute changes to our reservation. There is definitely no mystery why he is rated as a Superhost. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. I would not hesitate to book this suite again.

Jun 27, 2019Second time around and even better! John’s place is clean, classy, and well furnished (i.e. bed from design within reach?). It’s been about an year since my first visit, and it’s become a more refined stay. I think he added an AC unit, some more security, and beach amenities to mention a few upgrades. I’m going to keep coming! Seriously, it doesn’t get any better than John’s place in Kailua.
Jun 27, 2019This is the second time we have stayed with John & it just doesn't get better than him. His home is so beautiful and it was perfect for our guest. They have requested to stay with John every time they come down. They loved John home so much that they decided to leave the mainland to move to Hawaii! If that doesn't tell you how much you will LOVE staying with John, I don't know what will.

Jun 27, 2019This was our second time staying at John's place and we had a very good time as well as last time. It's really nice to have a place on Oahu where you're sure that you'll have a great time. We saw that there were more beach gear and toys for little kids on the beach and my seven year old loved it! He really enjoyed catching and observing crabs on the beach with the bucket and the net. If you're looking for a stress free place to stay on Oahu this is the place. It's in a great neighborhood, 3 mins walk to a non touristy beautiful beach, John is very helpful and responsive, the room is clean with everything you need. We plan to stay here everytime we're in Oahu. Best Airbnb experience ever.
Jun 27, 2019Relaxing beach neighborhood- could hear the waves from our room. Just a 5 minute walk to the end of street and through the locked gate to a quiet georgeous golden sand beach. A few blocks down the beach each way to the closest public access so just a few families relaxing and playing in the surf. Waves and gentle slope of the soft golden sand were perfect for boogie boarding with my husband and teenage son. John the host was very quick to reply to our one small problem with TV and fixed it almost immediately. Beautiful, clean new unit exactly as pictured with air conditioning and ceiling fan options. My son found pull out sofa bed comfy. Unit had a great online iPad with info about the area and activities. Off street parking for our rental car and very safe neighborhood. This is a rare find and great treasure which our family highly recommends.
Jun 27, 2019I had an amazing stay at John's place in Kailua! I come to Oahu yearly but this was the first time staying outside of Waikiki and I loved it. John's place was very clean, spacious, and all the amenities were great. Everything was so comfortable, from the bed to the couch down to the linens. Location was also ideal...just steps away from the most beautiful beach on the island and a quick drive to Waikiki or the North Shore. We got to enjoy the sunrise daily and utilized the beach chairs and boogie boards that John has available for guests. The town is charming and more relaxed than Waikiki and I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

Jun 27, 2019Great place next to one of the nicest beaches in the world! John was fantastic. Just watch out for those man o wars on the beach they really hurt and kept us off the beach for half our trip which was a big bummer. Highly reccomend this place though, Kailua is wonderful!

Jun 27, 2019This place is amazing! John truly lives up to his super host rating. The home was sparkling clean and extremely comfortable. The neighborhood that the home is located in is very nice and offers private access to literally one of the nicest beaches in the world. My wife and I were able to surf from the beach too, if that’s your thing. We timed how long it took us to leisurely walk from the house to the beach. It takes exactly 3.5 minutes. We didn’t want to leave. We basically wanted John to adopt us and let us live there forever.

I really loved the washer and dryer in the unit and the beach toys for the kids :) The beach is literally 3 minutes and 45 seconds away from the front door. John’s response time to my questions were less than 2 minutes. My little family would definitely stay here again!
