LEAFY FLAT - QUIET & CENTRAL (TAI PING SHAN ST)

Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong
$597/night

Summary

Light, clean, cosy. One bedroom flat - 5 min walk to the heart of Soho in a quiet, leafy street in Tai Ping Shan (Sheung Wan, just off Hollywood road). Super cool area - all the cool cafes, restaurants etc nearby. Nice wine and cheese place directly downstairs. It has natural light and high ceilings. You can hear the birds every morning. It has huge trees outside the windows so all you can see is greenery. It's private - no one can see in. Quiet desk for those looking for to work. Wifi.

Space

It's a 3 level walk up (no lift). It's a very basic bathroom, with a shower over toilet situation. It’s totally fine, has hot water – but it’s nothing fancy. It’s okay for a couple but a little cosy - better for 1 person! It’s not a great place for cooking every night, it’s only a small kitchen and there isn’t a dining table. It’s better for anyone who wants to be in a really nice street and to eat out at restaurants and cafes within walking distance (such as in Soho, Sheung Wan and Sai Yin Pun).

Neighborhood Overview

It's the perfect neighourbood! A quiet street overlooking trees and a park but still in the action and near everything. Rare. My favourite thing about the place is it's location!

Clean, tidy and exactly the same as described and shown. Bridget’s home located in the hippest location at Upper Station Street. I found an artistic lively neighbourhood during the day. In the morning natural sunlight climbing through the windows, swaying old banyan trees shading my shyness from the warm vibe outside. At night, I enjoy the early summer breeze with a cup of tea in my hand at an outdoor cafe nearby, it is so comforting before going back to Bridget’s home for a quiet peaceful good night sleep. Bridget’s home has numerous green plants, two huge mirrors in the bedroom and the living room, a spacious desk right at the window and many cushions, pillows and a very comfortable double bed . You will find all you find at a home. I have a wonderful stay and I am sure yours will be the same as mine — it’s going to be your real Hong Kong experience in a neighbourhood with an old-n-New crossover.

Very nice area and uber quiet for such a great location. Very cute place that’s got enough space for one. Happy to come again :)

My friend and I stayed at Bridget's flat this weekend and overall, had a great time. The location is near all the main attractions of Hong Kong while still being in a quiet neighbourhood. We had some issues with the door keys that resulted in us having to call the host well past midnight after being stuck outside for 30 minutes in a dark street. We also had issues with controls in the bathroom that were not detailed to us prior to the stay. The apartment is also rather confusing to navigate to and had we not had pocket WiFi to (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps the route, the directions provided to us by the host would not have sufficed. If it weren't for these issues our stay would have perfect. The flat is true to Bridget's description and I would recommend it to a single or a pair of friends coming to Hong Kong. It is small but clean and well-ventilated. WiFi provided. Thanks again for your hospitality! Kari

Lovely space and had all the basic amenities you'd need for your stay. Bridget was away but still managed to coordinate an easy way for us the check into the flat, we had no trouble finding the place thanks to her instructions. The decorations and plants made us feel right at home. For those who want to be bang in the middle of the city but away from the noise, Tai Ping Shan is the ideal spot. Only took us 8-minutes to walk to Central and there are plenty of good eateries, bars and cafes nearby. All in all, would recommend!

This was a great apartment for two people, in a great location. We stayed for five nights and loved the area. Would highly recommend.

Bridget's place was perfect for my short visit in Hong Kong. She gave great instructions prior to arrival and the place was very easy to live in. I found it perfect for visiting Hong Kong. You can find taxis easily at the bottom of her block, a lot of tourist stuff is within walking distance (for a New Yorker) and lots of cool shops and restaurants around. I'd definitely stay at her place again, but also in the same neighborhood.

Fantastic, comfortable flat in a lovely, quiet and convenient location. Bridget was a pleasure to communicate with, very quick to respond and was generous with her knowledge of the area. Would highly recommend!
