*Towels and bed linens One bath-towel is provided for each guest. An extra $5 cleaning cost will be charged for every extra towel requested. My apartment has fire / smoke alarm to ensure the safety of guest. This alarm is linked to the nearest fire department and fire fighters will visit my place if you trigger the alarm. In Sydney , fire department is not a free service and they will charge a $2000 bill for their visit. Please don’t smoke or create excessive smoke while cook. This will be the guest liability if triggered the fire alarm during the stay . We will have no choice but to reimburse the full amount from you. Only 1 set of bed linens will be provided for every two guests. Each set of bed linens include: 2 pillows with covers, 1 queen quilt with cover and 1 fitted sheet. An extra $10 cleaning cost will be charged for every set of bed linens requested. *Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $300 *No external visitors. Jun 27, 2019This apartment has so much potential but as it is now just didn’t work for us. We visited during a time where the weather was 90F degrees and the “air conditioning” isn’t air conditioning at all. It is a standing unit where you must keep the sliding door open 8-10 inches all day/night if you want to use it, thus defeating the purpose and letting all the hot air in. It made the loft unbearable. So much so that we had to sleep downstairs on the couch and air mattress. The bathroom was nice and it has a full kitchen and washer. Those are the nice things I can say. Check in was easy and he accommodated us early which we appreciated. David (who we were in contact with) did try to help us but there were just too many problems. The WiFi worked 20% of the time we were present - he blamed it on us using too much bandwidth - we were simply trying to connect an iPhone to the internet and to text - not stream movies or download anything. The beds were uncomfortable but the place would be a good value if the WiFi worked and if it had actual air conditioning as advertised and how the pictures lead you to believe. Because we had to keep the door open (security risk) so many bugs, spiders, etc. came in too. Also the smoke detectors are covered in aluminum foil which is a safety risk. I would not recommend this Airbnb to anyone at its present state but it could be great for the cost and for bigger groups as it sleeps 5-6 somewhat comfortably. Our stay, however, was not pleasant at all and we could not wait to leave.

Jun 27, 2019While in a great location, and still a specious apartment, there were a number of items missing/not thought if that would have made the stay a lot better. It is a two stores loft but all open so no doors to separate the two beds/sofa bed which is fine but just be aware. There was no bath mat, no cups for water or mugs for teas, no milk even for a tea, towels were very small and old, and hard to dry cause no heated towel rails, beds could have sheets as well in case doona is too hot. It was fine for a short stay as we weren’t in the room much but still value for money wasn’t there.

The apartment had ample room and great facilities, yet was also very comfortable and relaxing. I would recommend this stay to anyone visiting Surry Hills looking for somewhere quiet to stay.

Jun 27, 2019Jason and David were very responsive hosts and facilitated an easy check in process despite arriving quite late at night. The loft was in a great location, central to public transport and walking distance to some yum eateries. Amenities in the loft were quite basic which was not too problematic as we did not spend much time physically there. Due to the proximity of the neighbours, it was not uncommon to be woken up early if the neighbours were up and about. All in all, an adequate place to return to after a long day of adventuring the city.

Jun 27, 2019Even better than in photos! It feels very stylish and spacious but homely at the same time. It had everything we needed (it even has a walk-in wardrobe!). The hosts were very nice and attentive and the place is super well located (you can even walk to the Opera House like we did). Really recommended!!

Jun 27, 2019I had stayed at this place for three weeks for work. This is a great place to stay short term. David and Jason are very responsive and make checking in and checking out easy. However, I would not recommend staying here long term during the summer. There is not a fully installed aircon- it is a portable fan/aircon which doesn't really cool the place too well, especially on the warmer days. Jason did purchase and install two fans for me during my stay though, which I greatly appreciated. Also, the shower head does not really work and sprays out minimal water. Otherwise this is a good place to stay at during the winter or cooler days for a weekend. The place is nicely decorated and comfortable and is in a great location.

Just two things that were not perfect: The wifi was too slow to use and the aircon unit is a big mobile unit but requires the window to be open which on a hot day does not quite work. Other than that a beautiful apartment to explore Sydney.

Jun 27, 2019When we originally saw this place listed, we instantly thought it looked, new, clean and very stylish and we were quite excited to spend our 5 days in Sydney here with our baby. Unfortunately this excitement dwindled on a daily basis. Our initial check in was great and David was most accommodating of us needing to check in earlier than 3pm, which was great. When we arrived, the place was very warm, we saw the air con wasn't actually a proper air con unit, but a mobile one sticking out of the patio doors side window. It appeared quite old as well and did not pump much cool air further than 2 or 3 metres, so it's understandable why it was warm. There are two fans to help, one downstairs and one in the main bedroom upstairs. I think it should be made clear in regards to this in the listing., Plus you have to empty the water container (3-5litres) every day yourself. Then we looked around the place and to be honest it's a lot more tired than it looks in the photos. There are cracks and patches on all walls and two holes in the ceiling, which leaked when it rained on the last stay. The kitchen units are also looking tired and some do not shut properly. The shower doesn't work properly, it runs more like a tap due to the shower heads holes all being worn away. I reported this on day 2 of our stay and David offered to replace it but I said we would get by. On reflection I wish I'd insisted on replacing the shower head, because I have since read other reviews and saw that someone in January reported the shower not working as well, so nothing has obviously been done to correct it and may not after my report either. There were hand prints all over the patio doors and on day 3 we had been making our bed and found an empty condom wrapper under the bed. so not great on the cleaning front either. This was also reported and David offered to have the place re cleaned, but with us only having 2 days of our stay left I saw very little point. We pay for cleaning, so you expect that side of things to be done properly. We didn't notice until we left as our suitcases had been placed under the stairs, but when we took them out to leave they were covered in dust. I hope these issues are fixed for the next guests.
