Neighborhood Overview
La Barceloneta es un barrio marinero del distrito de Ciutat Vella de Barcelona.Actualmente, el barrio sigue teniendo ese aire de pueblo ajeno a la ciudad que siempre le ha caracterizado. Pero el ambiente ha cambiado mucho, sobre todo, en verano. Su playa es una de las más animadas de la ciudad tanto de día como de noche, cuando abren los chiringuitos y bares musicales instalados en la misma arena donde se puede ir a cenar o a tomar una copa hasta altas horas de la madrugada.Junto a esta cara moderna, la Barceloneta sigue oliendo a sal y a ambiente marinero. Para muchos es todo un lujo que todavía se conserve un barrio de este tipo en una ciudad como Barcelona. Y es que resulta algo extraño que junto a calles estrechas, húmedas y ennegrecidas por el salitre, convivan alguno de los mejores restaurantes de la ciudad y atraquen lujosos barcos.

Estacion de metro Barceloneta linea amarilla a 5 minutos caminando, autobus parada playa Barceloneta Nº 59,45,D20, caminando se puede llegar a los barrios de alrededor como el Born,Gotico,Rabal, Plaza Cataluñia. Existe parking a los alrededores del edificio. Desde el aeropuerto se puede acceder en renfe (tren) hacia estacion Sants con transbordo a estacion francia (6 estaciones en total , aprox 30 minutos,) y luego caminar 10 minutos o tomar autobus D20,59,45 parada Barceloneta y luego caminar 1 cuadra hacia el piso, tambien en taxi o en aerobus que los deja en plaza catalunya y luego autobus 59 (tomar en la rambla de catalunya) o metro linea amarilla (tomar en plaza urquinaona) bajarse en parada barceloneta y caminar 8 minutos al piso

Es un ambiene tranquilo, evitar ruidos en horarios de descanso (11pm a 9 am), Limpieza y orden del lugar, se permite fumar en la terraza, se cancela a la llegada al lugar, perdidas de llaves 25 euros, se deben responsabilizar si causan algun daño en la propiedad o utensilios de ella ( ejemplo utensilios de cocina).

Location is 99 out of 5! Dozens of great (including cheap) coffee shops, restaurants and bars, 3 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to the metro and Barri Gotic. Bed is 4,9 out of 5. It's huge (at least queen size) and it has a real good mattress (and I'm very sensitive to those). The room is not big, but you aren't going to spend a lot of time there. Bathroom is 3 out of 5. But hey - all you need is a quick shower, right? It does the job. Karla herself is a wonderful person, but she barely speaks English. a) she will learn and b) it's your chance to practice Spanish.
Jul 27, 2019Karla was very helpful, even though I only speak English fluently and she spoke very little. She keeps the house clean and the common area was decorated nicely, the balcony too. Karla was very responsive over text and email, and I think she even shifted her plans around a bit so that she could meet me when I arrived in town rather than having me wait with my bags. She's a kind host. There are also a couple of pets--a Chihuahua and a shy, skittish cat--but they stayed mostly in her room. The room is small and most of the space is occupied by the bed, which was comfortable and clean. There's a small area to hang up clothes as well. Other than that there wasn't much room in the room, but as I mentioned before there's a common area and a little balcony, so the small room isn't a problem. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean throughout my stay. The apartment is located right by the beach, maybe a minute or two to walk there, and a short walk from the subway station (5 minutes). There are no shortage of bars and restaurants around the apartment, and Karla was able to suggest where to go. It's a busy part of town during the day and evening, but I didn't find it too loud at night. I recommend staying here if it's available.
Jun 27, 2019Karla is a great person and great host. She is a doctoral student and was gone most of the day during the workweek. Her pets are great too. Both of them stayed to themselves while she was gone and came alive when she returned. The room offered on Airbnb is large and has a large bed with plenty of plugs. The apartment itself is a two bedroom with a kitchen and living room area. The toilet is separate from the shower. The views and cross breeze are great. You can see the beach, and Karla keeps the whole place very clean. The neighborhood is safe and offers everything you need from a large grocery store, to a mercado, to corner stores, to restaurants and bars. I liked being able to easily access the beach around the clock. The apartment is also very close to major attractions. It only took me 15 minutes to walk to La Rambla, and 30 minutes to walk to La Sagrada Familia. I like to walk, but if you don’t the metro is only a short walk away and the bus is close by too. All in all a great way to experience the beach and Barcelona from a local’s perspective. I had a great stay and highly recommend the apartment room and Karla as a host.
Jun 27, 2019It was a warm welcome at Karla's. The room is small and simple, you have got all what you need for a short stay, even a balcony from where you can see the beach. It would have been good to mention that there's a dog and a cat in the house all day, but it was no problem for me. I would stay there again anytime when I'm in Barcelona.
Jun 27, 2019Karla has a small but nice place, in an excellent location: very close to the beach. Karla is hospitable and easy to be around. She had an excellent description of how to get to her house and gave us some suggestions of what to do in Barcelona and tips on how to get around. It's pretty quiet at night (and I was there during the World Cup!), so easy sleeping. The kitchen is small, but you get your own place in the fridge and there's an oven and pots&pans. It is not a very suitable place for staying with children. There are lot's of breakable things close to the ground, the power outlets are easy to reach and the space is just too small for a child ánd a dog & cat. However, I would certainly recommend this place to people traveling without kids :)

Jun 27, 2019Karla was extremely warm and welcoming, and I enjoyed meeting her. Her English is not great, but still much better than my Spanish and you can always find ways to communicate. She was very willing to answer questions (always with a smile), but you do get your own space too. The flat is in a good location, but be warned you need to go up 5 flights of stairs to get there. The kitchen is well equipped, but be warned it is a small place... if you do a lot of self catering the kitchen is adequate but there is nowhere to sit to eat, other than in your room. I still enjoyed my stay, however, and would recommend it.

Jun 27, 2019Karla made us feel very welcome, she even haloed carry our bags! The stairs were steep and up 4 levels, but she had warned us about that. The room was tiny but adequate to our needs; we were seldom there! The location is just about the best in Barcelona, to get any closer you had to pay $1,300 a night, we looked it up. Only a bit more than half a block and you were at the best beach with chairs and umbrellas available cheap. Plenty of cafes on the beach or very close with great food. 2 "supermarkets" within 1 block of flat. Shared bathroom and kitchen but never a problem, she is gone most of the day anyway. Low taxi fare from Sants, higher to airport due to airport tax.

Jun 27, 2019Un très bon séjour a Barceloneta, Karla nous à très bien accueillie avec son amie. L'appartement est a 5 min de la plage, et 10 min du métro la situation est idéal pour les personnes qui veulent profiter de la mer et de la ville. L'appartement est petit, il convient parfaitement au jeunes !

Jun 27, 2019Karla hat ein kleines Willkommensgeschenk hergerichtet, mit Wasser, Keksen, Obst und kleinen Kuchen. Das Zimmer war etwas klein, aber das Bett war stabil und bequem. In der Wohnung lebt ein kleiner Hund (der sehr frech ist und einem manchmal in die Waden versucht zu beissen, was allerdings mehr kitzelt, als weh tut) und eine Katze. Karla selbst ist sehr nett und steht immer mit Ihrem Wissen über Barcelona zur Verfügung.

Jun 27, 2019It was really comfortable and amazing to be in Alejandra house. She even shared with me a welcoming food. She gave me a lot of tips for places to Visit and shared a discount key for self laundry as i needed it. The room was clean and quiet and the location was great, it is 5 buildings from the sea and near to metro and bus stop. I totally recommend Karla and Alejandra room for anyone wants to Visit Barcelona.

Jun 27, 2019My stay at Karla's was amazing. She was out of town so her roommate Alejandra welcomed me in. The apartment is clean, bright, and comfortable. The location in Barceloneta is great. It's about one minute walking to the beach and one minute to the plaza where there are amazing restaurants and bars. The neighborhood is quiet and it isn't as touristy as other parts of Barcelona. It comes alive as the day progresses. That being said, you get a more local vibe here than other places which is good or bad depending on your preference. All in all, I had an amazing time there and will definitely stay at Alejandra's again if I can.

Jun 27, 2019I enjoyed my time staying at Karla's place. The communication with the host was great throughout my whole stay. The neighbourhood is one of the main reasons for staying with Karla since it's next to the beach and very central in general. It got pretty warm at night but luckily there was a fan provided to sort that out. The house pets are all real charmers :)
Jun 27, 2019Pendant notre séjour nous avons seulement fait la connaissance d'Alejandra, qui est une jeune femme très gentille et accueillante. L'appartement est très bien situé, à 2mn à pied de la plage et 10mn de la station de métro Barceloneta mais vous pouvez aussi vous rendre au centre ville à pied en 15-20mn, ce qu'on a quasiment toujours fait car le coin est très agréable. Attention toutefois, l'appartement se situe au 4ème étage et l'ascenseur ne fonctionnait pas durant notre séjour (je ne sais pas si c'est de manière permanente), ce qui n'est peut être pas adapté à tous. Sinon la chambre dispose d'un assez grand lit double confortable et un ventilateur nous a été mis à disposition. Nous avons très bien dormi à chaque fois (la rue est plutôt calme la nuit). Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour chez Alejandra, en compagnie de son chat et de son petit chien qui sont adorables!

Jun 27, 2019Karla's place is on the best location in Barcelona if you ask me. 2 minutes to the beach, 15 minutes by bus to the center, 3 bus lines goes to the center, so it is very well connected, and that is best solution if you ask me, you can go to the beach in the morning, and afternoon easily you are in the center. Karla is very welcoming host, she will give you all tips you need. There are 2 small dogs and one cat in the apartment. Room is small but private. Good airbnb and my recommendation for Karla's place. :)
