The apartment was just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. The neighborhood is great; located near Fort Greene park with a number of restaurants nearby. It's also an easy trip into manhattan. I spent three weeks here when starting a new job in Manhattan.
Jun 27, 2019It's so easy to review Valerie's place! Everything deserves 5star no matter which criteria. The neighborhood is interesting, friendly, with pretty nice groceries, cafes, bars and restaurants. Oh, and with the best flea market on earth! The aptm. is on a beautiful tree-lined street with brownstone buildings, close to Fort Greene Park, quiet enough to sense tranquility and the cool Brooklyn spirit. Valerie's place is very cosy, really spacious, clean, functional, very well decorated and with lots of light. The bed or should we say "the cloud"... is amazing! A few steps to get to the subway and, in 15 minutes, you're eating oysters in Manhattan! Overall, we loved the Airbnb experience and recommend Valerie's place to everyone who wants to find the best way to discouver Brooklyn. Finally, the famous last word goes to Valerie. We really felt privileged to know her. Kind and helpful, gave us excellent hints and makes you feel at home. Gorgeous persona and great host! (Thank you so much Valerie : )
Jul 27, 2019Gorgeous apartment, very clean, comfortable and stylish indeed. Valerie was super accommodating, and was able to make the place available at very short notice. Neighbourhood is awesome; very laid back and full of great little restaurants, coffee bars and cafés. I would recommend this listing without any reservation!
Jul 27, 2019My mom stayed at Valerie's place and thought it was perfect. Valerie was most gracious upon arrival and checked in to make sure everything was in place. The apartment is smartly decorated and has pretty much anything one would need. And the location is excellent.
Jun 27, 2019Valerie was a great host and we loved staying there. She was courteous and helpful. The apartment is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Its one block from Ft. Greene, and a handful of blocks from many subways. Recommended.
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I had a great stay in Valerie's apartment. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. Valerie left instructions and tips on a typed sheet on the table which was very helpful. I also really enjoyed this location - we traveled into Manhattan everyday on the subway and found it to be an easy commute with multiple lines we could take. We wished we had more time to try some of the nearby restaurants in the Fort Greene neighborhood and loved being next to the park. The only downside we experienced was that the A/C units hadn't been installed when we arrived and high temperatures were in the mid- to upper-80s that weekend, which made the apartment pretty toasty even at night. However, Valerie messaged me about the issue afterward and I don't expect that to be a recurring issue. Overall, Valerie was a responsive, thoughtful, and responsible host, and I recommend her apartment as a comfortable, clean, nicely appointed and conveniently located place to stay in NYC.
Jun 27, 2019The location is amazing, right by the park and tucked out of the way on a block of brownstones, but also near food and nightlife and access to subways. The apartment is basic but nicely decorated and more than adequate for a visit to NYC. The price is great for what you get and I'd recommend this in a heartbeat. One significant hitch: there was a heat wave and A/C units had not yet been installed, and I was unable to get a hold of the handyman to install them (apparently he was out of town). The apartment is warmer than the outside temp even with windows open and shades drawn. Given the heat -- 96 fahrenheit -- I had to eventually book another place. However, Valerie was incredibly kind and refunded my entire stay, and was communicative throughout despite not being in the country at the time. Had it not been for the A/C issue and surrounding misfortune that the handyman was not around, I am sure it would have been a flawless stay.
