Neighborhood Overview

Our house is located in a residential neighborhood of Honolulu (Palolo Valley). We are just outside the craziness of Waikiki but it's a hop, skip and jump away if you want to go there. We are conveniently located about a mile away from the H1 on-ramps and off-ramps. Our street crosses Waialae Avenue, which is home to many great eateries to satisfy any palate-- Town Restaurant, Big City Diner, Zippy's, Aloha Crepes, Azteca. Follow Waialae Ave. east for a few minutes and you'll be at Kahala Mall-- more eateries: The Counter, CPK, Chili's, Whole Foods, Starbucks/Jamba, etc. 3 supermarkets are also close.

Notes

STAIRS AND DRIVEWAY: The house does have unavoidable stairs and a rather steep driveway, so please be comfortable walking up and down them.

Transit

Renting a car while here is highly recommended, as the house is tucked away in the back of a valley. If you have a moped/motorcycle/bicycle, there is safe and private off-street parking. If you have a car, there's street parking. (You'll need to walk up a steep driveway to the house, so be comfortable with doing that.) However if you do plan on using the bus as your main mode of transportation, there is a covered bus stop for "TheBus #9S" right across the street from the house.

Access

BATHROOMS: This room shares 1.5 bathrooms. There are actually 3.5 baths here, and different rooms share different bathrooms. Bathroom access and cleanliness is never a problem. KITCHEN: Our kitchen and dining room are there for you. If you plan on doing some home cooking, our kitchen is well supplied, and has updated HE appliances including a dishwasher. Cleaning up after yourself is absolutely mandatory. COMMON AREAS: There is a shared but spacious living room, home theater, and a beautiful lanai and deck. LAUNDRY: Great HE Washer and HE Dryer ($5 PER LOAD and detergent is included). FREE VACATION SUPPLIES: Shared access and free-to-use: Books, Maps, Snorkel Gear, Learner Surfboard, Boogie Boards, Sand/Beach Mats, Folding Chairs, Garmin GPS, and sometimes Sunscreen and/or After-Sun Cream and more. EVEN MORE FREE STUFF: Shared access and free-to-use: WIFI Netbook Computer and printer, DVD and Blue-Ray Collection, Iron and Ironing Board, Hair Dryer, First Aid Kit and more.

Beautiful home, beautiful family. What a perfectly wise choice I made upon my arrival to Oahu to stay with Brendan and Stephanie. They are a very amicable, genuine, accommodating, considerate and fun-loving couple with two extremely well-behaved, well-adapted, respectful and smart kids. Their home is very clean and tidy and spacious. The room we stayed in was large enough with a bed that comfortably fit two adults. The house is conveniently located across the street from the number 9 bus stop. Was really sad upon our departure, but if I ever needed a place to stay again, their home would be my first choice.

A great stay in a generous and loving home with true Aloha spirit. Helped us when we needed it most. The children are sweet, respectful with good manners. The washer and dryer were really helpful along with fridge space and kitchen. We felt as comfortable as if we were with family and that was a pretty cool feeling for an Airbnb experience. Very nice to come back each night after a long beach day to a home. Thank you Stephanie and Brendan. It would by have been the same without you :)

I easily can recommend this place! Stephanie and Brendan are very warm, welcoming and helpfull and the house is the cleanest I have ever stayed in. They and their kids were also very friendly to our baby daughter so our stay was a lot of fun and very relaxing. We spend thansgiving together with their friends at waikiki beach and would love to visit them again.

Very Very surprised !! brendan was very respectfull, very kind and helpfull. A very good sense of humour, always here to have fun and share its experience and knowledge of the isĺand. Unfortunately, despite the fact that Brendan and its kids were very kind, we didn't really felt like home because of Stephanie's behavior, who did every thing she could to avoid us. We can't really understand why, and we would have liked to discuss it with her but we couldn't. In general, we spent a nice time with them, the house is cool, but a little bit far from town. (45 min by bus) We encourage people to spend some time with them.

Stephanie and Brendan were wonderful hosts and the kids were fun and so well behaved! We felt like part of the family and hung out with them at Christmas and New Years as well as going on a hike with everyone. The room was large and clean, and had a mini fridge complete with breakfast on our arrival. It's best to rent a car as the buses aren't super reliable, but the location is good. Enjoyed the use of NETFLIX ;) It was fun to meet the other travellers staying there too! Highly recommended, would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Honolulu!!

Stephanie and Brendan were great hosts! They were super accommodating and went over and above to make sure our stay was comfortable and fun inviting us to watch movies and play xbox with them in the evening, even making popcorn. It was great to stay with a local family that had knowledge and experience of the Island. And their choice of other house guests was great! everyone in the house was great and super friendly. There two children were sweet also and my daughter had a great time playing with them. I would absolutely stay with them again and recommend them to anyone. Thank you Stephanie and Brendan for an amazing week!

Stephanie and Brendan and the kids are awesome! I kinda miss them already haha. but I'll be back! The room was very clean and comfortable. It's got a nice tv, fridge, work desk, nice big closet, and it's decorated very well. All the house guest I met were also very cool down to earth people. I would recommend anybody to stay here who is respectful and wants a nice ohana feel away from home. I didn't see Stephanie to much but Brendan is a cool dude who's willing to go above and beyond to help your stay enjoyable. For instance there was a race not on TV so he streamed it live from his computer and let me watch it. The kids are super amazing well behaved kids. Oh and just a little heads up to anyone planning on staying here and doing laundry DONT USE REGULAR LAUNDRY SOAP!! Its gotta be HE soap only which i learned the hard way (sorry). All in all I got nothing bad to say and hope to see them all again. Mahalo.

Oahu was amazing and staying with Stephanie and Brendan just added to the experience. It was so nice to "come home" after a long day touristing and really be in a home. We enjoyed their company and learned a lot about Oahu. A couple of days Brendan made the whole house pancakes which were wonderful and it was so fun to connect to the others in the house. So many interesting people. Brendan seems to have a natural ability match people to the house who all interconnect very well. Stephanie and Brendan had all sorts of great things to share - from boogie boards to towels - making our trip even better. We really appreciated the reuse and share philosophy. The kids are cute as can be and my son loved being able to hang out with local kids. I wish we had planned a bit more "local" time where we could just hang and not tourist. Definitely a suggestion to others - plan some casual down time and go hit the beach with Stephanie and Brendan if the opportunity arises. We can't wait to go back. We'll definitely be wanting to stay with "the family" again.

A Home Away from Home...For sure! Since I was staying a month in Honolulu I was looking for more of a Local's experience in daily living. I needed a place that was between Hawaii Kai and my Son's employment..something that got me out of the craziness of Waikiki but close enough to enjoy what is offered there..and some place close to the green mountains and Da Bus ..Stephanie and Brendan's!! Read their description of what they offer. Tho I used Da Bus system for 2 weeks I did rent a car the last 2 weeks to move more freely around the whole island and get in all the beaches and sights I could.. If your time is short you'll definitely need a car to get in all you want with minimal time waiting on or transferring to your bus. I fully enjoyed the size of my room, the awesome view of the valley, the morning birds, all the other house guests, mini fridge that held all the food and cool drinks I needed to be comfortable (there is a larger fridge, if you need, that is shared among hse quests and cabinets) and yes..the huge TV,, the kitchen, washer and dryer..the movie nights-if you so desire to attend, the meals Brendan cooked for those that were home on those particular occasions, the impromptu chats and oh!.. did I mention Step, Bren and their 2 wonderful children?!! Brendan is a fountain of Island information, has all sorts of aids to help you orient yourself to get around to the sites and answered all my questions and has great stories..a REAL "go to guy" !! Stephanie's career takes her away from home a bit, but when we did cross paths I fully enjoyed our chats..she has a Great spirit! As you all know ..kids can be iffy..but Sol and Gabby are very enjoyable..smart, articulate, friendly, funny..THE BEST! Since I was staying for a month I didn't feel pressure to hit the ground running at the crack of dawn..some days I spent around the home drinking hmm good coffee, writing post cards, paying bills, phone calls to family, reading, washing clothes, cooking a meal here and (Website hidden by Airbnb) I got a real feel for the home and those lives that grace it's structure. Do yourself a favor...book a home! not just a room!

Ummm. . . Back again. Still love it at the 'ohana Nui. The rooms/house is very well kept up on. Everything is clean and comfortable. Brendan and Stephanie put a lot of work into their beautiful home they share and it's a wonderful place to be.

Thanks to Stephanie, Brendan and the kids. I had a wonderful time here at OHANA NUI. I can absolutely recommend this place. You feel like living at home. You feel like a part of the family and their home is really nice. Actually I moved to Hawaii and I couldn't imagine to have an amazing start in my new live like this. Thanks again and for all visitors in the future: "you will love it"! Aloha

A++ Steph and Brendan really make you feel at home in their beautiful house. The bedroom is spacious and super comfortable, and you have access to the kitchen (which is great), so you can cook at home. You really feel at home when staying here. They were warm and welcoming, inviting us to join in with their Thanksgiving celebrations on Waikiki beach, and letting us ride to the Christmas parade with them on their electric scooters. Be sure to chat to them about your plans, being locals, they have heaps of helpful tips. Their kids are cute as buttons and really polite. We miss our Hawai'ian Ohana already! Aloha

Brandon was there waiting when I arrived and was very accommodating. The room was everything I could have asked for. They went out of their way to give me ideas to do on my short stay on the island. Brandon even made reservations for a set up at the beach for me. This will definitely be a place I want to stay when I come back.

Stephanie and Brendan were awesome hosts. We had a great time in their well kept and clean house. Great place to interact with other guests, whereas your privacy is not under scrutiny. They were awesome in giving us directions, assistance and great advice. At the same time, if u are in need of a surf, scuba gear or gps, they will share with you. Our 2 year old son loved the place as well, as he had super companions in Gaby and Sal. Amazingly well behaved and friendly kids. The location couldn't be better, as you are close to Waikiki, Whole Foods and other great shops. The hwy is 5 minutes away, so you can reach any corner of Oahu in less than 1 h. We already miss the place !

Stephanie and Brendan were our family away from home this week. It was so nice to chill out and watch movies with them and the kids, to eat meals together, and to be able to use them as a resource for things to do around the island. The atmosphere in the home is so laid back and relaxed. I never felt like we had to hang out in our room if there were people around, like sometimes is the case in open homes. The house is exactly as it looks in the pictures, and is very clean. Everyone was really respectful, and the house was pretty much quiet by 11:30 every night. We slept like babies. I would definitely recommend anyone I knew heading to Oahu to stay with Stephanie and Brendan.

A must stay to experience true Aloha! I’ve seen this listing many times but availability never worked out with our schedule. This time, Brendan and Stephanie were lifesavers! Eight months pregnant with twins we were fleeing from another Airbnb place that was not as advertised and overpriced. Stephanie & Brendan’s place was the perfect oasis! Exactly what they advertise is what you experience with the bonus of a great overall vibe. They are warm, generous, and genuine hosts. Their kids, Gabby & Sal, are well behaved and delightful to be around. My husband enjoyed sharing his culture (Japan) and I taught them a few useful Japanese words. Several nights we watched movies with the family in their home theatre. Sho & Brendan became fast friends bonding over cars and shopping runs. We were fortunate to be the first guests to experience a new upgraded King size bed—wish we had one! So comfy! Since I was on bed rest, my husband spent a lot of time in their spacious kitchen cooking. One morning the kids invited us to join them for chocolate chip pancakes, YUM! We had everything we could possible need and more. We feel that we are now part of their family. Their home is clean and spacious. The design of the house allows for several guests without feeling crowded (actually, we seldom even saw or heard other guests). Our recommendation: 200%, both thumbs up! An important lesson learned: Avoid new Airbnb listings. Stephanie and Brendan have been hosting people for 7 yrs or more. Through experience, Brendan was quite right when he encouraged us to resolve our disappointment with our previous lodging (hosts new to Airbnb) by calling Airbnb. We were extremely pleased with Airbnb’s customer service. Thank you Stephanie, Brendan, Gabby & Sal! You have an open invitation to visit us in Japan anytime! 本当にありがとうございました。とても快適に滞在することができました。また、機会がありましたら必ずご連絡をいたします。 Cheers, Sho & Cat (+ Angelina & Viviana...coming soon)

Brendan and Stephanie are awesome! Always great to be around from playing Bananagrams with the family or watching blockbuster thrillers from their theater style projector. It's a blast. This was our second timing staying with them this year and if we got a chance to stay with them again we would. Great place to stay if you're here visiting. Or if you're relocating (our situation), and need a place to crash while you're in between homes. Highly recommended for the warming home and the perks of staying there (snorkel gear, laundry room, fridge, etc).

Brendan and Stephanie (and the kids) were so amazing. Both of then were so sweet and hilarious and they opened their arms to us. It was nice to live with locals instead of being in a hotel. They were like a second family to us. They made us breakfast a couple days (chocolate pancakes!!!), they let us use the kitchen, let us borrow snorkeling gear, and had movie nights with us. They also took all the guests and the rest of the family to the beach and it was awesome. Speaking of the other guests, we met people from all over (Australia, Canada, and the states). We would definitely come back again. A+ review. We'd recommend renting a scooter or a car, because biking would take around a 30 minute to get to Waikiki.

An absolutely fantastic stay, from start to finish. Both my wife and I feel that we got so much more than we paid for. The room was just as described and there were so many little extra things that really made the stay fantastic. Little things like access to beach equipment, extra sunscreen, good advice, and a sense of community really made this stay perfect. We had our almost two year old son with us and it seemed like everyone bent over backwards to make everything work out great. There is absolutely nothing even slightly negative to say about this stay. We read all of the reviews before booking, and if I can stress one thing it would be that even the most positive reviews don't do this place justice. Book a room and you won't regret it!

What a pleasant stay we had at Stephanie & Brendan's place. If you're looking for a homey, comfortable, accessible, & clean place to stay, this is it. Stephanie & Brendan were great hosts. Such a hospitable couple, and they have seriously thought of everything. Beach towels, snorkeling gear, lunch pack coolers, mini fridge in the room with some welcome treats, and even maps/gps for non smart phone users like us (plus more). ;) We enjoyed the times we got to chat it up with our hosts, their kids, and other travelers as well. Wish we could've stayed longer to get to know them and hang out a little more like others have, but our time was short. Love their couch in the living room! Great place to watch tv or movies if you don't want to in your room. They are super knowledgeable about all the different areas, as I picked their brains about a ton of stuff. Their house is in a great location - we thought it was pretty central to everything and convenient to highway access. We were happy to stumble upon some good food finds in the area too! And don't be scared of the driveway. I was about 6 1/2 months preggo while we visited, and I made it up, so you can too! ;) We also had a good amount of luggage because of relocation, and they were super accommodating with that as well. Communication was great before and during our stay. If you're considering staying here, just do it. You won't regret it. They've been doing this for a while and it really shows in how well they are able to host their guests. We would def stay here again when we visit Oahu and would recommend it to others as well!

My experience with Brendan and Stephanie was fantastic! We felt being at home in their spacious and comfortable house! They are very friendly and helped us in anything we needed during our stay in Oahu. I stayed with my wife and my one-year daughter, and it was extremely enjoyable! Their house has all amenities you can imagine and the room is fully-equipped with a big tv, Extra bed for child, blu-ray, Netflix, mini-fridge and much more. Brendan, Stephanie and the kids are amazing people and surely, if we visit again to Oahu, their house would be our first option! Rate A+++! Our doors are open if you want to visit Japan!! Greetings from Wesley, Rosa and our big family!! Thank you very much!

I stayed Ohana Nui for one week. Stephanie and Brendan was really nice host. The house was very comfortable, clean and nice. My room was big enough and the bed was very cozy. There were everything that I needed and Brendan was really helpful. Their kids were also very kind and my daughter had very good time with them. It was wonderful stay and I definitely want to go back again. Thanks for everything.

We stayed with my 13-year-old son a bit under a month between Aug-Sept. The place and features were just as described as far as the listing goes. The room was spacious, with view to the valley mountains in the front side of the house, the bed was big, and the fans are really enough to combat the heat. The bus is across the street, plenty of street parking if you decide to rent a car, movies, games and beach equipment (really handy). What was not described in the listing is how this family is a true Ohana. We were more than welcome and had a few amenities that were really needed but not expected. That really helps when you're hungry and thirsty with a 12 hour jet lag! Brendan, Stephanie and their kids are open and friendly. Most everyone that passed thru the house was great, we made many friends (Rebecca, Jaren, Lidiya) exchanging info and stories and dinners while there! and...we got a few presents as a parting gift! a Really nice touch, thank you guys!

Amazing experience! I can't believe I ever felt apprehensive about staying at an Airbnb for a month. It already feels like I left my home and my family at 'Ohana Nui. I moved to Hawaii with my girlfriend and we had no idea what we were doing. We stayed with Brendan and his family, and they immediately put our worries at ease and helped us harness our laid-back, island mentality. Brendan provided us an incredible amount of amenities. Forgot your snorkel gear? He's got you covered. Forgot your shampoo and conditioner? He's got you covered. Ever wanted to try ghost pepper sauce? He's got you covered. Ever wanted to pilot a helicopter? He's got you covered. There's so many things I can say about Brendan but I think the most important thing for Lindsey and me is, without Brendan and Ohana Nui, I don't think I would have been able to survive that first month and make Hawaii my new home. My highlights were: coffee and pog juice on the lanai every morning (with the incredible view of Palolo Valley), dinner with the family, movie nights, meeting all the awesome guests that Brendan approves for the other rooms (we actually found our new roommate from 'Ohana Nui!), and the bus stop that is right across the street from the house. Whether you are coming here for vacation or you're looking to make Hawaii your new home, 'Ohana Nui is the best place to be.

I love airbnb and have used it for years now. This might be one of my most favorite trips ever. Brendan has this house designed and running so well. He, Christina, the kids and every other guest made me feel at home and just like 'ohana (family). The location is great and I was able to get everyone on island I needed to. I was here on island for 5 weeks and didn't want to leave. It really is like home. The other guests are not only great roommates but they are built-in friends and I really enjoyed being around people more (I work from home by myself otherwise). We often went for hikes and adventures together. You can find my photos from the five weeks on-island at instagram. My username is my name (without the space) andy stenz. I loved this room but all of them looked nice. This one currently doesn't have a private entrance but that was fine. I loved coming home and seeing everyone and never felt like I was a burden (I thought I would wake people up, etc - nope - the house is huge!) I saved money by eating in most of the time there and I loved everything about the kitchen and pantry areas. I didn't have any unmet wants there. I can't wait to visit again!

From the moment we stepped into the house to the moment we left back to the airport, Brendan and his family helped to make this one of the best trips my fiancé (newly engaged!) and I have ever had. They were very accommodating with all their amenities and provided us with great information about what the island has to offer. They even told us all the awesome go to spots that were off the beaten trail. The family themselves are very loving and accepting of new guest. We truly felt like family in their home. Whether it's shopping for 1000 count bed sheets at Ross with Brendan and Christina, or playing card games with Sal and Gabriela there was never a dull moment. Also, can't forget how well behaved Tofu the dog was!! With that said, we did have a lot of privacy when we needed. Our stay here was definitely a home away from home. We wish their family the best and hope to get a chance to stay with them when we return. :)

Brendan and Christina are the 2 best hosts anyone could ask for. Their space is very well kept and they make you feel like you’re a part of the family from the moment you stepped in. The atmosphere was very open and friendly and they were always up to answer any questions we had (and we had many!). I would most definitely recommend their space to anyone travelling to Hawaii. Staying there was one of the many highlights of my trip and I know where I’m staying the next time I head back there!

It was a pleasure to stay with Brendan and his beautiful children. My husband and baby felt welcomed and part of the family almost immediately upon arrival. Brendan went above and beyond to help us be comfortable throughout our stay. I highly recommend this home if you want to experience true Hawaiian hospitality in the comforts of a clean, well-groomed house.

Brendan's place was my first AirBnB experience and overall I had an amazing time. I came to Honolulu on businesses but wanted to maximize my Hawaii experience while I visited. This place offered just that with a quiet atmosphere during the night and friendly guests throughout the day. I went hiking, dinning, and (attempted) surfing with multiple of the other guests (I was busy when Brendan himself did events). This house had everything I needed from the get-go to include laundry supplies, basic toiletries, beach gear, etc. This place was perfect.

My partner and I had a fantastic experience staying with Brendan and Asti and the rest of the family (kids, and other guests!) at Ohana Nui. It's hard to cover all the reasons why we had such a great time but here goes: When we first arrived, Brendan asked if we'd like to ride along to the beach - so it only took about 1.5 hours from landing in Hawaii to having my feet in the sand. He also helped out by giving my partner a lift to shop for groceries on our first night, while I was having a jetlag nap! and another time when I needed a coffee shop to (literally) chill in while writing an essay. The location has gorgeous views - it's on the side of a hill looking into/over a valley - and is away from all the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas, so you can choose to engage or disengage with them. Word to the carless (which we were): it does take a considerable time to get to these tourist areas, including beaches and big malls, so we used Uber when we went there, and occasionally buses (very economical but very long transit times). So if you are envisaging trotting down to the beach/blowing megabucks every day without a car and you don't like the sound of either of these options, this may not be the location for you. (All the more for us!) Pretty much every amenity you could want is provided - fully equipped kitchen, some toiletries and sunscreen etc., water bottles and a basket of snacks in your mini fridge on arrival, a big TV with Netflix. But aside from all of this, what we really loved was getting to know everyone at the house, hanging out in the evenings/mornings and having a laugh. It really is like staying with extended family. That said, a lot of the time we chilled out by ourselves, and that was completely possible to do as well. Bonus great things: we were given really lovely, completely unexpected farewell gifts, and one night, Asti baked not one, but two delicious banana breads. I highly recommend, if you stay here, to leave some bananas lying around ;) Plus outings with other guests were delightful! If you want to hang out with lovely people in a lovely location for ridiculously good value, let me tell you, this is the place to go. Mahalo guys; we'll be back!

My stay at Brendan's place was great! I was staying here while I found a place to live on the island to go to school, and Brendan did nothing but help in every way that he could. He gave great advice about what to do on the island, activities, stores, and restaurants/food. Brendan, Asti, and the kids are so sweet and happy! They really make you feel welcome! The description of the room and house are pretty much 100% accurate. There is snorkel gear and boogie boards to use, along with a full kitchen with anything you may need. The guests in the other rooms are from all around the world and it's fun to meet them all as they come and go. The neighborhood is not right in the city, so it's more quiet that way, and the bus stop is just a few hundred steps away, so it's pretty easy to get around. By car, Waikiki is about 15minutes away. Although it's street parking, I never had any problem finding space to park. Overall, my experience here was great and I am so glad I went with an Airbnb instead of a hotel. I felt more at home and I didn't feel as lonely because there were people to talk to and hang out with. I have already recommended this place to my family and friends when they come to the island to visit me!

Brendan was fantastic. His home was huge and easy to find, bus stop nearby, my room was big and clean. He has a welcoming and an inviting home. He has everything you need. I really enjoyed staying at his home. Brendan was laid back, generous, and very helpful.

The house is big with a nice kitchen, and always very clean. Brendan is a good host, friendly and reactive to all problems you inform him of, helpful and generous. Good with kids. If you have a longer stay you will see a lot of people come and go, not all of them are good. Brendan will take care of any problems but if someone just gives you a bad vibe, you may find yourself staying in your room. In the summer the room stays above 90 degrees F, even with the fans. It starts to cool down after 8pm. There is no A/C in the house. The location requires a car or a reliance on the bus (1h+ walk to waikiki). Overall a good place to stay as long as you are aware of all these things.

Brendan's description talks about a steep driveway which is totally true, but the advantage is by the end of your stay you will be in better shape ! Also, the neighbors have a rooster who we think gets up earlier than he needs to!

Awesome host/apartment. Brenden is a super helpful host. He tries to integrate everybody in the house if wanted. Always happy to give helpful tips for some secret spots on the island. Room was 100% as described and the apartment was very clean. Awesome overall stay. Would always come back to stay here.

We absolutely enjoyed Brendan’s place for numerous reasons. First, Brendan is very responsive and always there to help or answer any questions. Second, although it is a shared house, everyone is very respectful and friendly. Third, snorkeling gear is available, which definitely helped us to save money. Finally the place is 12-13 minutes from Waikiki Beach. Therefore, we got to be close to all cool places but still lived in a very peaceful and quite neighborhood. Mahalo!

Amazing place to stay! Stayed for several months, and felt like I was staying with family. The room has all of the amenities and nice touches that make it super comfortable, and there is always a consistent group of good people in the house. My windows don’t open in my room, so I had the option to use a fan or a very effective air conditioner that could run up my electric bill, but that usage is optional for anyone staying in the room. Don’t use the air conditioner and the price stays down or completely eliminated, I just liked mine to be an ice box which could be pricier. Very sad to be leaving, my trip was so much better staying at Ohana Nui.

Amazing place to stay with lots of aloha! The house has everything you need and everyone is super nice. Great location away from Waikiki but still close enough to the action. Would stay again!

I only stayed there for two nights but I totally enjoyed it. They were super friendly, clear in their explanations and would I be able hear you out if you have questions. Two thumbs up from my side!

I stayed at Brendan's place for about three weeks and looooved every minute of it! The room was great, especially the bed set up and view. Also, while there's shared bathrooms, I never encountered a problem or had to wait. I came alone, and was fortunate enough to make friends with everyone staying in the house! Throughout the three weeks I spent time hiking, going to the beach, grocery shopping, etc with all of them. I definitely lucked out on getting a great group of people, however, if you want to stay at Brendans' and keep to yourself, also very possible. Overall, it's a great place to stay, and Brendan definitely sets an awesome mood for the group. Already missing it!

Really enjoyed my time at Brendan's place. There are generally a handful of guests at a time and there is a community feel. Brendan really goes out of his way to make everyone feel included - e.g. hosted a SuperBowl party, multiple movie nights, among other things. The room was perfect for solo traveller, clean, and nicely decorated with a great view of the valley. Parking at the house was super easy - never had an issue finding a spot regardless of time of arrival. Coffee available all day, every day! Hosts were helpful with recommendations of what to do in the area.

The place is exactly what you see in the picture, clean and a friendly host. If you want to take a break from the Waikiki side of the city and want a mountain view, this is an awesome place. It’s a 30-minute drive to Waikiki but there are also some cool bars which are about less than 10 minutes away from Brendan’s place. It has a steep driveway but I managed to walk even on my wedge shoes so I didn’t see it as a problem. If you stay over on Valentine’s day, you’re in for a surprise (thanks for the chocolates!). Room doesn’t have a window that you can open; ventilation comes from the fan or door so don’t even think about bringing in stinky food to your room (it’s common sense anyway). I’ll recommend this place to my friends.
