ALOHA, Welcome to Kailua Blue Ocean Breeze. We are very happy to have the opportunity to share these moments in paradise with you. We have a few important details which we would like you to review that will assist in making sure your days are harmonious. 1. Please use the towel rack behind the bed room door to dry your towels. Please do not leave your towels on top of the bed when they are wet. 2. To respect all guests, please take your towel with you to your bedroom. 3. You are welcome to use the kitchen and the dining room for small quick meals. Please make sure to wash and dry your plates and utensils after each use. 4. In Hawaii it is tradition to take off your shoes at the entrance of the home as it is the belief that the shoes will bring energy from the street into the home. 5.When you go to the beach, please enter along the lateral side of house with the gate. Behind our house, you will find a hose where you can rinse off. 6. Please keep music and noise to a minimum be

What fabulous accommodations! Our host were amazing and welcomed us with such aloha from the start. My husband, son (8mth) and I felt right and home. They went above and beyond to provide us comfort throughout our stay; insomuch that we rebooked additional nights to end our trip at their home once again. We took a hike with their family, which was wonderful and they graciously provided us an infant bed and accessories and more. With such private accommodations you would never know you were actually under the same roof. We would highly recommend the Kaneohe Mountain Side Home especially if the sounds of streaming water are soothing to you (itʻs a beautiful and peaceful way to fall asleep and awake each day). Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay with this great family! They were so welcoming, they made us feel right at home. Our children had a wonderful time playing with their son and his toys:) They fed us and shared many other things including an afternoon of hiking in the mountains. We loved our room, two sides of it being windows it was wonderful to hear all the birds, the brook and Mr. Toad:) We would defiantly stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019Melissa, Cabral and little Kawe were perfect hosts. Cabral made coffee every morning and little, very cute and well behaved Kawe. kept us company during breakfast. Melissa gave us some helpful recommendations - Sunset Beach , Pu'u o Mahuka Heiau, a little shrimp truck - snce we have had only two days on Oah'u, it was very nice. The room was spotless, so was the kitchen and the bathroom. Location was good too - close to beautiful North Shore and not too far from Honolulu and other interesting sites. We were able to see a lot during our shore, but very pleasant, stay with Melissa and her family.
Jun 27, 2019Staying with Melissa, Cabral and Kaue was great! They were incredibly welcoming and very helpful with answering questions and giving tips about places to go and things to check out. Melissa even offered us some chocolate cake she made for Valentine's Day when we arrived! I felt like I was at home here.

As it was my first time in Oahu, they gave me great recommendations for places to check out that were off the beaten path. The location of their house is ideal as it's just a short drive to most of the sights and locations. I'd definitely recommend staying with them.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay with Melissa, Cabral and Kaue was absolutely amazing. Every morning when we would wake up and head to the kitchen, Cabral would be making us coffee, Melissa would offer us fresh baked muffins (on her day off) and their adorable son Kaue would give us nothing but smiles and laughter! Great way to start any morning. Your room is secluded from the rest of the house, so it's very private, however at the same time, you get to enjoy this great family's company in the common area when you head to the kitchen. We had full use of their fridge and kitchen. They had no qualms about us getting home late, as we were very respectable and quiet, as I would hope anyone who stays here would be. We are extremely grateful for all that they did for us during our stay, and also blessed to have met such a great family. Everyday they would say, "Make yourself at home" or "My home is your home". We stayed with this wonderful family for 14 days while we searching for permanently living on Oahu, as we relocated and didn't want to jump into anything too quickly. They offered great advice about what the island had to offer, as well as restaurants to go to for dinner. We are very happy to have met them, and look forward to many more adventures with this "AWESOME" family!
Jun 27, 2019Robin and I spent the last 3 nights of an exhausting one months vacation with Melissa and her family. We wished we could have had more time to enjoy the peace and quiet of their tranquil environment. The accommodation provided was extremely comfortable and clean, and to go to sleep listening to the sound of the babbling stream was exquisite. Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Cabral were awesome hosts. They told me their home was my home, and they meant it! They offered me food and drinks all the time and Cabral made me awesome avocado smoothies. They gave me tips on what to do on (the windward side of) Oahu and even drove me to bus stops that were more convenient Their son Kawe is very cute and I also met Melissa's mother who is a wonderful person! The room was beatiful and clean, the bed was comfortable and you could hear a small river behind the house which was very soothing. The place in general is very bright and nicely decorated. It is surrounded by impressive mountains, definitely a must-see. The location is perfect for exploring the windward side, the north shore etc. It is only a short drive from the beautiful beaches of Kailua and Lanikai and you can reach those destinations by bus as well. In the area there are some great hiking paths (Hauula Loop for example). Melissa and Cabral went out of their way to make my stay memorable. I highly recommend staying with them! P.S. They even send me my flip-flops, which I forgot at their place, to California!
Jun 27, 2019We felt like guests during the entire stay with Melissa and Cabral. Our hosts were very generous and provided us morning coffee and fresh picked fruit. The space is clean and accurate per the photos provided. You literally do go to sleep to the sound of a creek and wake up to birds chirping. Melissa and Cabral are active/outdoorsy and can give good traveling tips both on and off the beaten path.
Jun 27, 2019Melissa & Cabral are very gracious hosts and are very accommodating. They picked me up at the airport (super helpful), and made sure I was well while I searched for housing on the windward side. They are happy to answer questions and treat you as a (temporary) member of the family.
Jun 27, 2019Absolutely wonderful people in a small residential area that is about 20 minutes from very nice beaches (e.g., Lanikai) and 30 min to an hour to north shore. The area is up against a pretty mountain and the creek and bird sounds make for great sleeping. While the house is small for the number of residents (Mellissa, Cabral, their cute 2 year old and a newborn baby), they made such an effort so that we had complete access to the shared bathroom. Kitchen and common area were a bit tricky due to the number of adults and children in the house. We (a couple) traveled with a 9 month old baby. We were housebound during the evenings (after putting the baby to sleep), but could not stay in our room (for fear of waking the our baby). Kitchen is more or less a one person kitchen but again Melissa and Cabral arranged so that we could cook whenever we wanted.

Melissa and Cabral are two such individuals who will increase your appreciation for the location. They are very kind and were willing to help us whenever we requested assistance. Additionally, they took us into their family as if we were one of their own. This was greatly appreciated and we enjoyed the unique local perspective that this offered on the island.
Jun 27, 2019You won't find a cleaner, warmer more charming place on the island. The icing on the cake were the hosts! They are the most authentic, gracious and beautiful couple in the world. The only thing cuter than them were their two precious kids. There is only one choice for me when I come to Oahu...hang out at the sanctuary, also known as Kailua Blue Ocean Breeze. It is easy to use a kitchen, the living spaciously, and gentle sunlight comes in through the garden of the lawn.I hear the sound of the waves of the kailua beach in the distance, and the star-filled sky leads it to the comfortable sleep at night. Frank make caipirinha gave relaxation and friendship to travellers from Japan. I look forward to the day when we meet again to Frank and Melissa.
Jun 27, 2019I loved staying with Melissa and Frank. Did I have any question, Frank would fix it as soon as he could. For travellers without a car and who enjoy to be on bike, it is good to know, that you should rend a bike in advance. M&Fs place is about half an hour walk into town and only a short walk to reach the beach. It is a wonderful quiet place.
Jun 27, 2019Though very brief due to a cancelled flight, we had a great time staying with Melissa and Frank and their two cute little children. They were very welcoming and really seemed to enjoy the airbnb experience. What was great was that you could actually have a meaningful conversation with them instead of just quietly stepping around the house. They are really warm and intelligent people. Frank even went out of his way to organize sth for us we needed for our trip. The house had a great vibe, was very clean and beautifully located. If we were to come to Kailua again, we would surely want to stay with them again!
Jun 27, 2019This is a terrific place to stay, within walking distance (8 minutes) of a good beach for body surfing, or learning to board surf with shore break waves. This is the same beach the Obama family comes to every xmas. Frank serves coffee every morning, and greets you as his new friend. You need transport to get to Kailua, on the Windward side of the island. Once at Frank and Melissa's house, it's @ a mile to Kailua town. Rent a bicycle for $100/week, $20/day, for groceries, and to get to different beach access points, and to Lanikai. Frank and Melissa are a young couple w/ kids, who really like people, and pay attention to your well being. They have a functional kitchen, and provide good company, especially re Brazil. The location - only a short walk away from the beach - is perfect too. Everybody was considerate, friendly and very relaxed. Melissa even drove us to the wedding that we came to Oahu for. Thanks! ;-)

Also the kailua beach is about 10 minutes walk from their house, which is awesome. Melissa and Frank are amazing hosts and we felt really welcome. I would highly recommend to stay with them!
Jun 27, 2019DANGEROUS HOUSE! ! ! When we looked a photo and we corresponded with Melisa thought that we will be in perfect security, but unfortunately everything was here so: First day. It seems everything was good, really good house and very friendly Melisa, in the evening we got acquainted with her husband (Content removed by Airbnb for violations of Airbnb Review Guidelines - see www.airbnb.com/policies#review_guidelines), he is from Brazil,with hot temperamentю he moved not so long ago to America. He started telling us about himself that he is a fighter, 10 years goes in for martial arts and somehow strange started behaving. We didn't attach it significance and quietly went to sleep. Second day. I went on kitchen to bring to the wife tea and a zephyr as she not very well felt herself. When I returned on kitchen, there was (Content removed by Airbnb for violations of Airbnb Review Guidelines - see www.airbnb.com/policies#review_guidelines), it started something explaining to me and showed any leaf. Also I told that in 20 min. my wife leaves that to talk to him as she not very well feels. But in 5 min. it rushed into the room when she was in bed and started shouting (Content removed by Airbnb for violations of Airbnb Review Guidelines - see www.airbnb.com/policies#review_guidelines) If we didn't carry food into place, there would be a fight. We were shocked! ! ! Later we phoned to his wife Meslisa and all told her that occurred. It apologized, and later also it in the evening apologized. We certainly tried to understand this situation not to spoil to ourself rest. But unfortunately it was only the beginning.Next day everything proceeded with a new force. Third day. We with the wife made a dinner and went is behind a little table in a garden. Somewhere in 15 min. (Content removed by Airbnb for violations of Airbnb Review Guidelines - see www.airbnb.com/policies#review_guidelines) came and told us that we washed ware. We answered it that we will make it after we will stop to have dinner. It returned to us through slightly min. and started threatening again that if we won't do that he speaks to us, we won't leave Honolulu. After I tried to talk and explain with him that we arrived to have a rest and we don't need to order all of us understand after that it slightly didn't fight with me. We wanted to ask police. Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Franck are nice/great host, they have a very nice home and family. I appreciated a lot the neighborhood and it is close to the beach. You can use the kitchen at your convenience. The bedroom is perfectly clean and comfortable. They allowed us to rinse off outside in the afternoon we were leaving so that we don't have to travel with salty skin! It was very nice from them.
Jun 27, 2019What a wonderful introduction to airbnb! We stayed with Melissa and Cabral for five days and we can't say enough good things about this experience. Not only were they extremely warm, kind and helpful, they also have an immaculate house that is in a great community - very safe and only a quick walk to a stunning beach. This provided a great location from which to explore the island and the two of them helped to make this a very memorable stay. They shared a lot of local knowledge with us, lent us their boogie board and even shared some of their amazing cuisine! We would highly recommend their house without any reservations!

We joined them in a family and friends barbecue which was a joyful experience. They live in a spacious house in a peaceful area. Everything is tidy and clean. It is a short walk to the beach, which is really beautiful. Truly recommendable!
Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank and their two very cute children provide a lovely home to stay in. It's very spacious, modern and clean. The short walk to the beach is a great convenience. There is generous space set aside in the fridge, and also storage space in the bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The important part, though, is that the whole family is very warm, caring and welcoming, so that you feel like a friend at once. The great coffee every morning was also lovely. I very much agree with all the other glowing reviews (and don't believe a word of the nasty one! Sorry you had to experience such horrible guests, Melissa and Frank.)

The two are very open, friendly, helpful and can give you good recommendations for eating and exploring the island. We loved the brazilian BBQ we joined one evening :-) We really enjoyed our time and would love to come back some time.

Jun 27, 2019Frank and Melissa are really nice folks and their house is great. Cute kids too. Everything was meticulously clean and organized. They were very helpful and provided us with a couple of beach towels and shampoo for the shower (we didn't want to carry our own from the mainland). I am a bit picky about clean bathrooms and there was no cause for worry. The bathroom was cleaned daily and was fine. Great coffee brewing every morning. We woke to the smell of coffee! Their house is a 10 minute walk from the beach which was great. Some good restaurants within 5 to 10 mins drive. We particularly liked Rai Rai Ramen. Loved Lanikai Beach. Absolutely my favorite. Very warm& welcoming,this location is extremely convenient as it is 3 block walk from the beach and a short distance to grocery stores such as whole foods and foodland (also lots of restaurants in the area as well) The hosts are extremely knowledgeable about the island and provide great recommendations ! If your looking for a peaceful ,beautiful ,immaculate home this is it.We are grateful we were able to stay at this location during our time on the island. Many thank yous!

Access to a lovely kitchen and bathroom and a killer patio/backyard to chill in (which also has an aloe vera plant for those who might be burned). It was multicultural, very elegant, most interesting to talk to them -- overall, couldn't be more inspiring... This was the best B&B experience I will have ever had. Jun 27, 2019I stayed with Melissa and Frank and their kids for 4 days and I liked it a lot! They were supernice hosts, always ready to answer all my questions and give me recommendations. Even more, Frank helped me to organize a car! That was awesome! I also loved the apartment: The rooms were super nicely decorated and very clean. The beach of course was awesome too. I can definitely recommend to stay there! I would also highly recommend to rent a car to get around easier, because there's no shops or restaurants in walking distance.

Frank is actually also a surfing teacher, we tried surfing with him. Great teacher too. The location is few minutes from the beach by car, and also very close from the city center. Very quiet and nice area. ｶｲﾙｱは宿も少ないようですが､ｶｲﾙｱで泊まるなら最高の宿です｡ﾎｽﾄﾌｧﾐﾘｰはとても親切で､ﾌﾗﾝｸさんは元ｻｰﾌｧｰ､というわけでｻｰﾌｨﾝのｽｸｰﾙもされています｡立地は海からも街からも車で数分の最高の場所にあり､静かで豊かな住宅地の中にあります｡
Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank are an international couple, one from Brazil and one from the US, they are world travelers, earth conscious, planners, bright, athletic, attractive, caring parents of two beautiful children, and excellent hosts. Their home is in a quiet residential area, a few blocks walk to the beach, and is inviting, modern, clean, spare and uncluttered, light, open and airy. The upstairs is their personal area and the downstairs with three guest rooms, bathroom, living area and kitchen, and backyard with picnic table, is communal space. This allows the hosts to attend to needs of guests while allowing guests space and also having their own privacy as needed. They have clear house rules to smooth sharing space. They know the area well and have sightseeing and activity suggestions. They are a surfing family. Frank runs a surf school. They know how to make an Airbnb work. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were pleased to get acquainted with our host family. It was also a pleasure to meet the international guests who shared the home with us during our one week stay.

We also loved Kailua with its beautiful beaches and laid back locals, so much better than Waikiki! If you get the chance I would definitely take a surfing lesson with Frank. He is an expert surfer and a great instructor. His class incorporates balance and strength building techniques that would be great for any level of surfer. He helped both my husband and I stand up on our first lesson! Sad to be back in Seattle after such a wonderful Hawaiian vacation!

Jun 27, 2019My sister and I loved staying with Frank and Melissa!! Their family and home are so lovely and they gave us amazing recommendations every day. We definitely would not have had such a wonderful Oahu experience without them. Definitely stay here, and we will be back whenever we are in Oahu! We also took a surf lesson with Frank, and both of us stood up on our first day. You should give it a try, he's a great teacher! Kailua is a great area - most beautiful beaches, close to awesome hikes, good food, and not a far drive from the north shore or anywhere on the island.
Jun 27, 2019I loved that the house was in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The house was very nice and very clean. I enjoyed reading the daily board with the quote of the day and ideas for the day (whether it was a hiking trail or a great restaurant to try). Frank was a great surfing instructor. I appreciated that he did the "warm up" before the actual lessons to get my muscles warmed up first. It's a safe place for single women and I really enjoyed meeting the other guests that came to stay when I was there. Melissa was very compassionate and caring and gave me some good tips.

Clean, quiet & near the beautiful beaches Kailua. I would definitely recommend staying with them. We actually booked two private rooms- Both which were perfect. I plan on coming back to Hawaii in the next month and will be using their place again. Thanks gain for everything!
Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank were great! They also offered a 2014 Hyundai rental car for a small additional cost. I was picked up and dropped off at the airport as well. The house was perfect for all my needs. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and spacious. It also had a small size refrigerator which was convenient! The lanai and open air dining was awesome! Melissa also puts up a quote of the day and a fun idea for adventure, farmers market, water kayaking,etc. great neighborhood very close to Kailua Beach, Lanikai, and shopping and restaurants!
Jun 27, 2019Staying with Melissa and Frank was really wonderful. Their home is light, comfortable and welcoming and really well designed to have people stay. As hosts they were available to give suggestions about things to do and places to see and both were incredibly helpful. Kailua itself is gorgeous and the house is in easy distance to gorgeous beaches, hikes and shops. I hope to come back and stay again!
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time staying at Frank and Melissa's. We didn't realise that there would be other airbnb guests staying there but we hardly saw them. They have a lovely back yard and outdoor seating area in which we loved having our meals. Our bedroom was clean and cosy and we had a cooler AND a fan which was great for those hot nights. The bathroom was spotless despite us sharing it with other guests. They are a few blocks to the beach (and a stunning beach at that!) and live in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with views to the mountains. The only downside is that they're not near any food outlets or cafes (nearest one is a fair distance - about 20-25 mins walk) but they also hire bikes so we did this and went to the nearby Wholefoods quite regularly to get food. Would go back and stay there again.

The rooms are nice, got a beautiful garden and most of all, they got a beautiful family which brought smiles to our faces many many times during our short stay. The house is very close to the local beach. You can also rent a bike and we went everywhere with it. We totally enjoyed staying at their place and and we would definitely come back here again.

The room is super clean and well decorated. There was a little miscommunication on what time I was arriving, but they were responsive and I did not wait long to get into the house.
Jul 27, 2019My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at Melissa and Cabral's house. They made us feel very welcome. The house is big and has a lot of space to relax in the backyard. Our room was clean and very accomodating. They let us borrow their surf boards, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs and more to take with us if we wanted to. That was very nice of them. They also hosted a barbecue one night for me and two other guest since it was our birthdays, we really appreciated that. Since we rented their car, Cabral picked us up at the airport even though our flight was delayed 6 hrs. He dropped us, too. That was very helpful. Overall our experience at their place was very pleasant and forgot to mention very close to the beach that we liked the most, Lanikai beach. If we go back to Oahu we would definitely like to stay at their house again. Thank you Melissa and Cabral
Jun 27, 2019The house is open allowing air to flow through from the nice backyard which is helpful in the summer heat. Fresh columbian coffee every morning was a nice touch. The hosts Frank and Melissa were great to talk too. Frank was a star, as he took me to the airport then we discovered I had left my drivers license back at the house. Frank raced back to get it as I needed it for the Maui trip rental car. He saved my Maui experience. Their children are so cute and quiet. The room had two fans in it to keep me cool. Nice quiet neighbourhood with the bus stop 2 blocks away.

Jun 27, 2019We were extremely satisfied and happy with our stay at Melissa & Frank's house. The location could not be better, close to the beautiful beach of Kailua and close to restaurants and grocery stores as well - in fact a target will be opening soon 5 min from their house. The house is very clean, cozy and the room very private. The hosts are just very nice, Cabral is very helpful, always very polite and kind. Melissa gave us some good tips and she is super sweet! They both know a lot in there so having their guidance in what to do, where to go... made a tremendous difference in our vacation... They are fantastic! They even have a board in the kitchen with sunset and sunrise times :) Besides that, I must say... We were told by a friend that lived in Hawaii - you need a car to actually know the island. Do rent a car!

The dining area that opened onto the backyard was my favorite part of the home and it was lovely to wake up to such a green and inviting space every morning. Frank had lovely advise for things to see and do in the neighborhood every day. I love their daily board with times of sunrise and sunset, and a great quote every morning! I could not have had a better place to stay in Kailua! Thank you guys for having me!!!

However, I had some nice chat with Frank and he is a really nice guy and gives good advices on what do to.... The house is really clean and in a nice neighbourhood. Everything is absolutely perfect and I had a great stay! Would I go there again? YES!
Jun 27, 2019My wife and I went to Hawaii for our vacation and took the opportunity to find a cozy spot to stay through airbnb and we got a great deal! Since we had a tight schedule to follow for our trip, we had to request a late check in and Melissa was more than happy to accomodate. Check in was very easy and Melissa took the time to show us around and walk us through the place and it is gorgeous! The location of the house is very close to beach and they were nice enough to let us borrow their towels as well as snorkeling gear if needed! The room is very large and faces the outside and you have a clear view of the mountains from the room! We both loved our stay and couldnt have been happier! If we ever are traveling back to Kailua we will definitely look up the place again! A great airbnb host!

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Cabral were very nice and accommodating. Coffee every morning, nice clean space, and Kailua beach within walking distance (about a 10 min. walk). Shared bathroom was done well with a shelf for each room to store their things out of the way and a towel rack in each room. They had plenty or books to help with site seeing and made some recommendations too. The room was nice and bright, although if you like it dark when you sleep you may want to book one of their other rooms. Small fridge in the room was really nice too. Would be happy to book with them again in the future.
Jun 27, 2019M&F's place is clean and shinny. The living room is large and open. Cabral was very friendly and helpful. He gave us an orientation around the house on our arrival. We were allowed to borrow their snorkeling gear and body board and there is even a hot shower in the back yard. The parking was easy. I had the opportunity to meet Melissa's parents, they are both very nice people. Although we had to share bathroom with other guests, the bathroom is very clean. If I have to say a negative thing, it might not be ideal if you are on honeymoon or looking for quietness and privacy. But if you want to meet people and make friends, this is a good option.
Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank's home in Kailua was absolutely wonderful! We were checked in by their assistant who was very helpful and friendly. The first thing you will notice is how open and clean their house is. Like most homes in Hawaii the "no shoes" policy in the house keeps everything very clean which was refreshing. The room we stayed in was nicely designed and extremely clean. At the foot of the bed they have an ottoman that has bath and beach towels to use. A small fridge is in the room for food also. They openly offer snorkel gear, body boards and various beach equipment free of charge, and invite you to email them about renting the foam longboards in the backyard. Overall, our three night stay at Melissa and Frank's was an incredible experience! If you are considering staying in Kailua I strongly recommend staying here!
Jun 27, 2019Our week stay in one of Melissa and Cabral's rooms was lovely. The house is well set up with plenty of common space for guests including a large back yard. They mostly use the upstairs so we were able to use the lounge and dining area at our leisure, however the kitchen is not overly for guest use. The location is fantastic for the beach - an 8 minute walk - and is set in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. We didn't have a car and walking to town takes a good 25minutes - great exercise! - but if you want to be near restaurants/shops, you'd be better off staying closer to Kailua Beach Park. The downsides are the thin doors on the rooms which can make it noisy, and one bathroom for up to 6 people. Mostly these things were not an issue and we didn't have to wait. We took advantage of their airport pick up/drop off (included with a 2-day car rental) and this was a great help. Melissa and Cabral were kind enough to accommodate our early arrival and late flight out. Thanks!

Jun 27, 2019My partner and I stayed for four days in Melissa and Cabral’s home and we thought it was beautiful. The house is shared with the hosts, their two young kids (very respectful and super cute), and their assistant Jo, who is around once in awhile and picked us up from the airport. Bright, spacious and clean, it was conveniently located to some of the most beautiful white sand/turquoise beaches (Lanikai) and was a short trip to the North shore and Honolulu. The hosts were very attentive to us, making sure to give us recommendations and had coffee/tea and oatmeal packets available for breakfast. There is a small bar fridge in the room and suited our needs to store our food/snacks over the next few days. Beach chairs, snorkel gear and boogie boards were available too! We took them up on their offer to rent the car, which was very convenient and Cabral dropped us back off at the airport even though it was pass checkout and was quite late. We even tried to get a surfing lesson but the ocean didn’t cooperate. We’ll be back for that surfing lesson, Cabral! Mahalo to you and your family!

Jun 27, 2019Lovely room in beautiful, open airy house. Fantastic Island feel! Melissa and Cabral were warm and wonderful hosts with the perfect balance of friendliness, while giving you plenty of space to be in your own world. They were incredibly kind, gracious, and helpful, truly they could not have been more perfect hosts! The impeccably clean room has two windows and a ceiling fan so it was always the perfect temperature. The bed was very comfortable and I sleep soundly every night! Plenty of closet and bureau space should you need it and you even have a mini refrigerator in the room. Great beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, and other beach accoutrements are available for your use. Cabral even offers surf lessons! I also LOVED the activity board that has an inspirational quote for the day, a recommended activity (which seems thoughtfully chosen given weather conditions and time of year), and a suggestion for a place to eat. Fantastic hospitality, a charming and comfortable room -- Kailua Blue Ocean Breeze is a great value, lovely place to stay, and you could not find better hosts! Maholo Melissa and Cabral

I appreciated the in-room frig and their letting me watch their t.v. for a few favorite programs. I would stay there again should I get back to kailua. Their kids made me feel part of the family too. Jun 27, 2019A wonderful place! Everything is very clean and nice - we really enjoyed the stay there. Its just a 10min walk to the nearest beach or a 5-10min drive to the famous lanikai beach. Kailua is a good place to explore the whole island. We definitely would recommend to stay there :)
Jun 27, 2019Melissa, Frank and their two children shared their warm and wonderful smiles. They are an easy going family with a clean and uncluttered house and nice neighborhood. It was nice to use the kitchen for quick meals/snacks and then eat in the beautiful yard. Late in the morning I enjoyed hearing their children quietly play as well as hearing the neighbors young kids in the adjacent house. Yet often it felt as if we had the house to ourselves (the kitchen,living, dinning, yard). They let their house "breathe"- open windows for the wonderful fresh Hawaiian air. The location makes it easy to travel by car or the Bus. Lastly, the beach closest to the house was the least crowded beach on the whole island!

Jun 27, 2019STAY HERE FOR A GREAT STAY IN KAILUA! Honestly Melissa and Frank were the best hosts that we could have ever asked for. During our stay we felted like welcome guests in their spacious home. We only saw Frank and Melissa a handful of times, but when we did they were both eager to hear about our trip as well as give some recommendations as to what we might like to do. Their house has a nice open concept with wide open doors out towards the backyard letting in the warm ocean breeze :) They offered us use of their personal beach chairs, coolers, towels, boogie board and umbrella (this was a game changer on those warm beach days) The house never felt crowded as people came and went. Every morning we were greeted with a fresh pot of coffee and a "recommendation of the day". We didn't do everything that they suggested, but the things we did do were awesome. The Thursday night market in Kailua is a must BTW! Their kids are a delight and were so cute and even got to know our names :) A few other amenities worth mentioning is: use of their fully stocked kitchen(perfect for that quick breakfast after a trip to Whole Foods Market), clean bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, easy access to parking (we rented a car), close to nearby shopping (Target, Whole Foods, Macys, Longs Drugs, Gas Stations, etc... as well as only a quick walk or drive to the beach, convenient feet rinsing station in the back of the house for getting rid of the sand on your feet. All in all I would give this Airbnb a 5/5. Thank you Frank and Melissa for making our stay special!

Frank greeted us and showed us around their lovely property. It is just like the photos that I saw. Everything was very clean and organized. There was a board with little thoughts for the day and tips about places to see. I felt very safe staying there on my own. The neighborhood was very quiet. Kailua is a fantastic area with great shops and restaurants and amazing beaches!

Jun 27, 2019Cabral and Melissa's home was lovely. The first floor of the home has 3 rental rooms, which all share a bathroom. This space is very open, airy, and exceedingly clean. They have a lush, fenced backyard with patio furniture and a drying rack for beach towels and swimsuits. The neighborhood is residential and quiet. Kailua itself has a small-town, low-key vibe. We had a rental car and could easily access the beach. Cabral posts a "Recommendation of the Day" which led us to the Kailua Farmers Market, a highlight of our trip. With the other guests and the hosts' children floating around, it really feels like a family-friendly, Hawaiian-style hostel.

Jun 27, 2019It was nice to meet Cabral and Melissa, and of course their kids, too! They are such a cute family. When I arrived, Cabral gave me a short guide to their home. Everything was absolutely clean in the house! The bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, my room. I loved my room, it was exactly as in the pictures... even better! I felt like at home. A really nice gesture was the daily recommendation on their board in the kitchen. The only thing which was I was a bit sad about was the checking out. I sad I would like to leave at 9 a.m. but Melissa and Cabral weren't home, unfortunately. But I really wanted to say thank you for everything and for the nice accomondation, personally to them. It is a perfect stay in Kailua, but I would really recommend to rent a car while staying here, because the distances are a bit long (to Kailua Beach Park, Lanikai, Shops, ...) Thank you Melissa and Cabral!

Jun 27, 2019Wir sind spät abends in Hawaii angekommen und mit dem Taxi (Ca. 70$) nach Kailua gefahren. Melissa und Frank haben das Haus offen gelassen und in unserem Zimmer fanden wir Schlüssel, Internet Passwort, Handtücher und weitere Infos. Das Zimmer& Bad ist super schön und sauber. Das Haus liegt in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet und wir haben die Fahrräder gemietet, was sehr hilfreich ist. Als Transportmittel benötigt man entweder Fahrrad und Bus (man darf die Fahrräder mit im Bus transportieren) oder ein Auto! Der Stand und Kailua Stadt sind ruhig und wundervoll. Wir haben außerdem Surf Unterricht bei Frank genommen und hatten jede Menge Spaß dabei.

Jun 27, 2019初めてのairbnbで心配もありましたが､短い滞在期間を心地よく過ごせる心遣いが沢山散りばめられて､とっても満足でした｡部屋も綺麗で凄く広いし､他の滞在者ももんな素敵でﾌﾚﾝﾄﾞﾘｰでした!自転車をかりたらﾊﾟﾝｸしている､というﾊﾌﾟﾆﾝｸﾞはあったものの､有名なﾋﾞｰﾁへ必ず入る為のｺﾂや､友達が日焼けし過ぎた際にはｱﾛｴｸﾘｰﾑをくれたりと､本当に助かりました｡かわいいkidsもいて､癒されます｡ぜひｵｽｽﾒの滞在先です! This was the first time for us to use airbnb and we were kind of nervous, but it wasn't necessary. Melissa, Frank and little two kids were so kind, friendly and nice to us and their Aloha mind made me relax and we had an amazing time there. I loved their " today's recommendation". It's on the board in the living room and they chose today's words and cool event. It also posted sunset/sunrise, so you'll know what time you should be at the beach! Other guests were so great too, and it was so easy to exchange our experiences at the kitchen. The house is huge, room and both room are clean and great taste of furnish. Highly recommend for your choice in Hawaii!!!

This was the first time for us to use airbnb and we were a little bit nervous, but we were able to make ourselves at home right after Cabral welcomed us into their house. It took only 5-10 min by car from the house to Kailua town, where you can shop and dine, and was pretty close to the beach. It was a perfect location to enjoy Kailua. The bedroom and shared bathroom were clean and neat with nice amenities. We loved their airy and Hawaiian style house with open living to the nice back yard, we were able to stay as we were living in Hawaii at the moment. We will definitely like to come back and hopefully, we would like to learn surfing at the beautiful sea next time.

A little more quiet and tucked away, but close enough to things to do (for most of them though we suggest renting a car). The bathroom is shared with two other guest rooms. It is kept very clean but from time to time can be a bit of a line to get to. Melissa and Frank were friendly people and provided some great suggestions. To be honest, there were a few times where we did not feel as welcome as we have at other Airbnb places. The house and all the guests really did keep among themselves which may work great for some folks.

Jun 27, 2019I had a pleasant stay at Melissa and Cabral's. They are nice people and very helpful in every way. Cabral installed a basket for my bike right away when I asked. Full of Aloha spirit! They are located in a very safe, quiet area, 15minutes bike ride from center of Kailua or from beach. It was convenient to rent a bike from them, for $15 a day. Cabral provided an airport transportation for $90 round trip, too, there was no need for me to rent a car. Bedroom and shared bathroom were beautiful and clean. I recommend them highly.

Jun 27, 2019The house is well equipped, confortable and located in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks away from Kailua beach. I rented a bike offered by Cabral and that was very useful. Kailua and Lanikai are very beautiful beaches, and on a sunny day I felt blessed for being there, as well as when I watched the fantastic sunset from the top of Lanikai Pillboxes Trail, which was a program suggested by Cabral. I would stay there again and I will recommend it to my friends who ask me about it. Recentemente me hospedei na Casa do Cabral e da Melissa por duas noites e foi uma ótima experiência. Jun 27, 2019Cabral and Melissa were wonderful hosts. They were very prompt in all communication and Cabral provided a very good overview when my sister and I checked in. We really loved the recommendations he gave us. The location is truly wonderful and if we go back to Oahu we would definitely stay in Kailua again. The room's door is a slatted one, so sound carries very easily throughout the house. Didn't impact our stay but would have appreciated knowing beforehand. Would suggest bringing your own towel if not difficult and you are staying more than a few days (they provided a personal towel set for each of us and beach towels). There is plenty of closet and drawer space, a white noise machine and fans, and a mini fridge in the room. There's also space in the bathroom's linen closet to store toiletries. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend. We miss Kailua already!

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Cabral were great hosts. I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived. The room was clean and organized and the shared bathroom was well maintained. The mini fridge in the room was a nice bonus as well. As another reviewer mentioned the door to your room is slatted so unfortunately this means sound travels fairly easily to/from the living room and kitchen. But that was the only minor issue throughout my entire stay. I highly recommend this place for the great location (neighborhood and proximity to the beach) and the hosts!
Jun 27, 2019Frank and Melissa's place is a very cozy home tucked away in a beautiful town called Kailua... All restaurants are close by and the beach is just 8 mins walk... The good thing is they have boards, snorkel equipment, beach umbrellas and chairs that you can borrow which saves a lot of trouble of renting from the beach...The room was nice with 2 bed side fans in addition to the ceiling fan which really helps in summers although it wasn't too hot when we visited...Just had 2 small hiccups... We had damp towels which didn't smell good which was fixed by the hosts... I am not sure if anything about breakfast was mentioned anywhere in the listing but some light breakfast provided would've been nice.. Overall pleasant stay!!!

I felt welcome immediately and It was evident as soon as I walked into the house that Melissa and Cabral take great pride in making your stay was comfortable as possible. My room was perfect for my stay. The mini fridge was handy. Any place/restaurant they recommended to me was amazing. The Lemon Grass Thai restaurant was to die for! Thanks again for a wonderful experience. I can't wait to visit Kailua again!
Jun 27, 2019I stayed at Melissas and Cabrals place for three nights and I loved it! It has been the nicest Airbnb room I've ever been to :) I didn't wanna leave. Not only because of the room (which was very nicely done up and has had everything I needed and more) but the area (Kailua is paradise!) and the people. I felt home as soon as I walked in and felt part of the family. They looked after me VERY well and did more necessary. Had a short but amazing time. Would definitly come back!

Jun 27, 2019Melissa, Cabral, and their two adorable kids allowed me to stay with them in their house about half a mile from the beach. Melissa gave tips and suggestions each day for things to do, and was very welcoming. Everything was as described in their Airbnb profile, although there was quite a bit of mold on the fan immediately above my bed. I just didn't use the fan or turn the main light on (turning the light on automatically turned the fan on). Aside from that, the place was clean, the location (near the beach) was perfect, and I felt very safe walking in the area around their home-even at night!
Jun 27, 2019Arriving at Melissa's and Cabral's we were given a very warm welcoming in a really great home the two shared with us. We had a fabulous room, and especially enjoyed the possibility to sit in the garden and enjoy coffee and chat a bit. Melissa and Cabral are very forthcoming with suggestions what to do, which restaurant to eat at and recommendations to explore the island. Though not really a requirement but I have to tell as I loved it - the mint and herb shampoo and conditioner provided in the bathroom during our stay were fantastic and exactly what a girl needs! All in all a great family to stay with you feel at home within seconds of arrival!

We had a great time getting to know them and even took a surfing lesson with Frank "Cabral". They were really flexible on our checkout even though we were past a couple hours. They had great suggestions for daily activities, restaurants, and some very encouraging daily verses on the whiteboard. I would recommend to anyone that they stay with Melissa and Cabral. They even provided us with beach towels, chairs, and allowed us to use their snorkel equipment during the day. The house was beautiful and very clean. I loved that in Hawaiian culture people leave their doors unlocked. I felt very safe and I know all my belonging were safe as well. Melissa and Frank even posted daily recommendations and quotes at the house which was so thoughtful of them! I loved that they even posted the times of the sunrise and sunsets. It influenced the times of the day my friend and I did certain hikes. Overall great experience!

Nevertheless Melissa was very kind and helpful to me and the room was clean and very close to the beach, with a nice garden and some tea or coffee available, can't complain!

It is in such a great location away from the big touristy spots but not to far away if you wanted to go back to Honolulu. You will have an amazing experience and be able to see a lot more of the island than anyone who is staying on Wakiki
Jun 27, 2019I don't even know where to start. This was our first trip to HI and our first Airbnb experience. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about either. Cabral and Melissa are absolutely wonderful. Thier home is beautiful, the room was perfect and they were very hospitable. We loved being just a short walk from the beach and not having to deal with it being so crowed. Kailua is a great little place far enough away from the craziness of crowds and just a short drive away from most of the popular attractions. We hope to visit again and when we do we will be staying here. thank you for a great week!
Jun 27, 2019Listing was as described. Spot clean and even though it was hot and humid outside the fans were more than enough to keep the room fresh. Little far (30 min walking distance) from town and (30 in drive) Honolulu but bus was close by. Expect to spend a lot of time on public transportation. Not much interaction because we weren't around as much but overall really nice. Check-out was too early for us as our flight was at night, therefore not very convenient. Beach is definitely one of the best in town!! Bring some food and water

The location is perfect for beach goers as it is walking distance to Kailua beach and a short drive to Lanikai beach. The entire house and property is very clean. You are welcome to use their pool and beach equipment. Coffee and fruit are always offered throughout the day. Our room share the bathroom with another room but this was never a problem. They have 2 beautiful well behaved children that love to keep active so at times we felt as if we had the house to ourselves. We would definitely recommend their place if you are planning a trip to Kailua.

The house is beautiful and spacious. It is also located very near the beach and is in close proximity to eateries which made mealtimes easy. Jun 27, 2019Hello Airbnbers! I spent the weekend for 2 nights with Melissa and Cabral. The location is prime located on the more relaxed, quieter side of the island. Everything for basic necessities like groceries, restaurants, and convenience items are a quick 5 minute drive casually cruising the Kailua neighborhoods. The beach is the big draw and they were helpful pointing me to the residential access points so parking was a breeze and the beach much less crowded! Couple things to note: Room is only cooled down with a tower fan and open window for air circulation. I would say it felt 10-15 warmer in the room than outside. I come from San Francisco where it's cooler but nonetheless it didn't take much to break a sweat. I slept with no blankets and the fan directly on me all night. The other item to note is the shower head sits at about 5'6 and is mounted to the side wall. Being 6'3 it at least made me say a few extra prayers while getting myself clean! (aka I had to duck down or go on my knees) All in all great people, great location, at a great price compared to getting s hotel! I really enjoyed this calmer side of the island and found myself interacting with way more native islanders who enthusiastically shared their insights about great places to hike, surf, and beach all over the island. Jun 27, 2019Die Unterkunft an sich ist sehr sauber und 8 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt. Wir haben Fahrräder und Autos gemietet. Auch der shuttle vom und zum Flughafen hat reibungslos geklappt. Ein paar Sachen haben uns (Pärchen) dann doch gestört. Zum einen war das Zimmer sehr warm, deutlich wärmer als der Rest des Hauses. Trotz der 2 Standventilatoren und der einen an der Decke. Des Weiteren wurden wir drauf aufmerksam gemacht, die Türen leise zuzumachen. Leider haben die keine Rahmen keine Gummidichtung sodass man echt kontrolliert die Tür schließen muss. Ansonsten sehr aufgeschlossenes, sympathisches Paar mit 2 Kindern. Geben gute Tips für Trips. Ps: Falls ihr viel am Strand liegen wollt wäre Kailua nicht die beste Option. Wir hatten oft regen.

Lovely hosts who made me feel welcome in their home but gave me space. About 30mins walk to shops /food, suggest if possible rent a car to get here (uber was expensive!) & use to explore area.
Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank's house is nice and walking distance to the beach. It's driving distance to the grocery store and "downtown" Kailua. They are nice people and had good suggestions on where to go and what to eat. They provided towels and shampoo/conditioner/etc. They provide a mini fridge and fan, but the room was about 10 degrees warmer than the outside temp since there is no air flow with the door closed. For us, the house had quite an empty, tippy-toeing-around feeling. What I mean by this is you walk into the big dining room/kitchen through the side patio door and your room and a couple others and bathroom is to the left. It's quiet and personally, a little too quiet for my wife and I (there are small kids in the house who go to school, so there are signs about not slamming doors, which I get, but the house has tile floors, minimal furniture, and is big, so everything makes noise). The living room with the tv and couch, I'm assuming, is through the doors on the right...we never went that way as we came late and weren't shown that part of the house, so we chose to eat our dinner and watch our own shows in our room on our ipad. I'd recommend this place if you have small kids (it has a pool!) or just using it as a base to sleep which is why it worked for us since we had a lot of things planned and weren't there very often.

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank were awesome hosts! I arrived in on a later flight and Melissa was able to meet me and orient me to my room. They had great recommendations and were super friendly. I came over during Thanksgiving weekend and they were very hospitable! I enjoyed some Thanksgiving dinner with Melissa and Frank and their friends whom were also very friendly. The location is a 2 min walk from the beach. The location is fairly quiet and is an easy drive to other parts of the island. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends!
Jun 27, 2019This is a good place to stay if you want to be in a Kailua neighborhood with fairly close beach access. The hosts were very nice, the place is quite spacious and clean. We had good communication and there were no issues checking in and getting access to our room. The guest room we were in was large and comfortable. Guests appear to stay on one side of the house, separated from the hosts living areas by a large open kitchen. This is a family and they do have 1 (maybe 2) small children, which were not a problem, but you are staying with a family and they are there. The house is on a main arterial and it was a bit more noisy than we expected, as there is a lot of traffic on it. You park beside their driveway, which is off the side street. (The house is on a corner). This suited our purposes perfectly for what we needed to do for the one night in Kailua. If you are planning on doing Waikiki things, this would probably not be your best option.

A 4 minute walk from the beach and a really close drive to downtown Kailua. I had a fantastic time at the beach and doing some great hikes that they recommended. There were treats in the kitchen, an awesome yard and a cozy room!

Jun 27, 2019Had a wonderful stay as Melissa and Frank really know how to run an Airbnb right- the organization was impressive (rental car, bikes, coordination with flights etc). They were also happy to provide recommendations and assistance from a "locals" standpoint. While we rented a room, and they were a family actually living in the house, I was surprised at how quiet the house was. Nice and peaceful for a relaxing vacation. Not to mention their two little ones were very cute and well behaved! I recommend.

Kailua비치까지는 걸어서 20분 넘게 걸리지만, 10분 걸리는 다른 비치도 있음(난 차타고 다님). 와이키키와는 다른 조용한 분위기.

Their place is a very short walk to the beach which was awesome and they provided beach towels for us which was great. We used their place as a home base to explore the south east part of the island so actually we hardly crossed paths. But when we did Melissa was super nice.

Jun 27, 2019If you want to be in Hawai'i and really feel like you are there, I would recommend Melissa and Frank's place. It's nice to have somebody greet you with an 'Aloha' and ask how your day was at the end of the day. I was in Hawaii by myself for a conference and wanted some peace and quiet and wanted to enjoy the island. Had a great couple of surfing lessons with Frank and Melissa nicely offered tea for me in the evenings. They have the cutest children and it was actually nice to hear the sound of happy young children in the house. They provide enough towels and I liked they had a large closet and a small fridge. I would stay with them again when I visit Oahu.

Our room opened into the hosts living space and, not knowing they would not be home we kept our door closed the first night. However there was only one window and no cross ventilation or A.C. and it was very hot.

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Cabral have a wonderful house and garden with a pool. We stayed in the private room, we were in the same space as the family. However we were close to them and to their 2 beautiful kids, we have not heard any of them preparing for the day in the mornings, they were absolultely not noisy. Everything was peaceful and calm during our stay.The bathroom is like a spa, clean and well equipped with soap,shampoo, conditioner for their guests. Kailua beach is like 10minutes away by walk. We enjoyed a lot our stay at Melissa and Cabral.

Jun 27, 2019No furniture and the website is misleading. There is no private bath the hall bath is shared. It is convenient to the beach and a nice walk into town. I will NEVER ask to rent again. I rented for 4 days and checked out on second day...did not want my friends to visit.

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank always had great suggestions for things to do, places to go, and places to eat. We rented a car through them and it was an easy, but professional process. They made us feel like we were there ohana, we never felt like we were outsiders in their home. Beautiful home in a great location! We will definitely be back and use them again!

Jun 27, 2019Our stay was perfect.The house is lovely, bright and clean.The swimming pool is a delight and the beautiful beaches are a very short walk from the house.We used the buses and with a bit of walking managed to get around the island very cheaply. Melissa and Frank have a great house on a beautiful side of Oahu.We really enjoyed our stay and Melissa and Frank helped me when I asked for anything.I highly recommend a stay.

A beautiful, quiet home with an in-ground pool, only a block and a half walk to a gorgeous, uncrowded beach (with a large shade tree if you need it) and 1.5m bike ride to Kailua Town, which is full of restaurants, shops, and a Whole Foods. Melissa and Frank have bicycles, towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas for you to borrow and make you feel right at home. I had my own private bath and a/c in my room. I feel so lucky to have found this gem and stayed here after my conference in Honolulu. I hope to come back again!

Jun 27, 2019We were able to relax at Melissa and Frank's house during the stay. The bedroom is clean and tidy. There is a work desk in the bedroom. I could work with my laptop. It was convenient. The bed was comfortable for sleeping with 2 adults and a kid. There are enough amenities for us. We didn't worry about a meal. There is a supermarket open until midnight. It's not far from the house.

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank are gracious hosts who embrace the Aloha spirit. I researched Airbnb for a spot close to Hawaii Pacific University, in Kaneohe, so I could help my freshmen son do errands and move in with ease. We were greeted with kindness and moved into their home for a week. Our room was spotless and had a small refridgerator. The bathroom, also very clean, was 2 steps away from the bedroom. We had access to their pool and were invited to a BBQ. They have 2 adorable and very polite children, who added joy to our stay. The way the space is layed out evenings is our guest room were quiet and relaxing. Both Melissa and Frank are professionals. They graciously offered us knowledge of potential doctors, restaurants, stores, etc. They offered to be available to my son, after I left. I hope to stay with them when I return to Ohau. If you are lucky enough to stay with them, please tell them "Hello" from me. They couldn't have been a better match for us. XO

Jun 27, 2019I spent 4 nights at Melissa and Frank's and everything has been great! They are great hosts, very respectful and would make everything for you to have the most amazing experience in Hawaii. If you have time during your stay don't hesitate to take private surf classes, you won't regret it! Frank is a great teacher and you'll be sure to catch some cool Hawaiian waves! The place/room was as nice as expected, and the pool is definitely a plus. I would recommend to have a car there though, but if you don't (like me) you'll be able to use a bicycle of theirs to ride around Kailua and go to the various spots. Everything is super easy to go to by bike :) Mahalo Melissa and Frank!
Jun 27, 2019The house is in a great neighborhood about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It's a nice quiet neighborhood beach. The town is about a 5 minute drive with all the shopping and restaurants one could want. We loved staying in Kailua and would definitely stay again. There's a mini fridge in the room too which was great. Comfy bed and a white noise machine, plus a/c. Terrific all around.
Jun 27, 2019Can't say enough good things about our stay with Melissa and Frank. The room we rented in their home was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The window air conditioner made it very comfortable to sleep at night. The washroom was clean and well appointed. We really appreciated having use of the beach chairs and umbrella, especially with a beautiful beach just a short walk across the road. It was very convenient to take a 5 minute walk to a spectacular beach. Melissa and Frank were very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions for food and activities around the island. Their children were also very respectable and it was a pleasure to stay in their home.
Jun 27, 2019The location is perfect, it is just a quick walk to the beach and Kailua has some cute shops and restaurants. The room itself is spacious and has got an A.C. and a fridge. To reach the bathroom you have to cross the hallway, which opens up to the kitchen. That wasn't ideal, but fine for us.
Jun 27, 2019사진과 같습니다. 카일루아 해변과 정말 가까워서, 도보로 3분 정도면 도착할 수 있습니다. 가격도 합리적인 금액으로 포드차량 렌트했구요, 깨끗하고 새차였습니다. 그리고 Frank는 정말 친절한 호스트라서, 식당도 추천해주고, 마트도 알려줘서 고마웠어요. 그리고 문제가 있으면 바로바로 수정해주셔서 감사했어요. 그리고 정점은 서핑!!! ㅎㅎ 서핑 수업이 쫌 비싼감은 있지만, 그만큼의 즐거움을 느낄 수 있을껍니다!! 다만, 바닥에 먼지와 모래가 있어서, 실내화를 챙겨가시길 권해드려요. 그리고 가정집이라서 빨래를 할 수 있을 줄 알았지만 아니였어요;; 그래도 햇볕이 좋으니 힘들겠지만, 손빨래도 나쁘진 않아요. 가격대비 만족합니다!!

Jun 27, 2019Me and my gf came and stayed with Melissa and Frank for one night in Kailua. The house was located very close to both Kailua State Beach Park as well as Lanikai Beach. Melissa and Frank were amazing, and we loved staying at their beautiful home. It was very open and at no time did we feel uncomfortable. We had ample privacy and Frank and Melissa were always close by in case we needed any recommendations or just a chit chat. Frank is also a surf instructor and very knowledgeable about the island (we did not have time to sign up for lessons this trip). I think the best thing about the space was the attention to detail. We absolutely loved the bathroom and decorations. It was very elegant. Would not hesitate to stay with them again!

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Cabral are wonderful hosts, and their home is in a wonderful location--just a short walk from the beach and in a very quiet area of Hawaii. They were full of great tips around the area, very generous with their beach towels/chairs/snorkels/umbrellas, and made our first trip to Hawaii a breeze. Highly recommend if you're looking for an experience in Oahu away from Waikiki/the bustle of downtown, but still accessible to the majority of the sites you'll want to see.

Jun 27, 2019Good house! 거실 겸 주방을 주인과 공유하고, 방과 화장실은 개별적으로 쓸 수 있어요. 방과 화장실은 깨끗하게 잘 정리 되어 있었어요. 부기보드, 비치체어, 파라솔 등을 빌릴 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 주인분이 서핑 강사도 하셔서 서핑 레슨도 받았어요. 1인 110달러였구요, 1시간30분~2시간 정도 해주시는데 잘 가르쳐 주세요. 카일루아 해변에서 서핑 수업 했는데 사람도 많이 없고 경치도 좋아서 한적하게 배우고 즐길 수 있었어요. 카일루아 홀푸드마켓과도 차로 5분정도면 갈 수 있어서 홀푸드마켓 주차장에 주차하고 그 주변 맛집들 다닐 수 있어서 편리했습니다. 호스트에게 궁금한 게 있어서 물어보면 친절하게 잘 알려주세요. 다만, 침대는 저희가 체구가 작은데도 둘이 자기에 좁은 느낌이 있었어요. 거실 바닥에 모래가 조금 있는데 신발을 벗고 다녀야 해서 저희는 기내용 슬리퍼를 사용했어요. 주인내외분과 거실 겸 주방을 공유하기 때문에 마주칠 일이 잦은데, 호스트와 자주 마주치는 것을 꺼려 하시지 않는다면 추천합니다.

Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay! Melissa and Frank's place is exactly as pictured - a clean, private room and bathroom in their home. The house is in a perfect location to go to the beach in Kailua or Lanikai. We also rented a car from them for convenience, which included a round trip airport ride. They were very communicative and gave us great local recommendations.

Also a huge plus as we rented a car from them which made our entire experience and we could explore the whole island. Would definitely stay again!

Their place is beautiful and warm and the guest rooms are perfectly clean and spacious (it has got an A.C. and a mini-fridge). The location is great: just a short walk from the beach (less than five minutes) and the neighborhood is really quiet. Extra point: If you have time during your stay take private surf classes with Frank! He is an amazing teacher and the whole experience was superb. Mahalo for sharing your home with me.

Jun 27, 2019Perfect hosts! Lovely family. My daughter didn’t want to leave this place and I had to explain why. It wasn’t easy. Beach is close and nice. Pool is good. Kitchen with all you need. Delicious breakfast if you want. All nice, clean with style. At the first evening, I was rescued with delicious dinner with local beer. If we will be in O‘ahu again, we will stay there, for sure.

Better yet, Melissa and Frank have a cruiser bike that permits even easier access to the area. The house and hospitality were also first-rate in my book. I’d definitely recommend it!

Jun 27, 2019Location is great to stay on the east side. Home is quiet & perfect for a place to sleep. If renting a car make sure you arrange drive times to and from the airport in advance, so that they can figure out their personal schedule in order to accommodate you.

Jun 27, 2019Melissa and Frank's place was just what I needed, a simple, comfortable & clean place to sleep while I spent the days and evenings in Aloha bliss. Melissa gave me some great tips on things to do. She let me use her beach cruiser all week & I had an amazing surf lesson with Frank. They even invited me to join in their pool side BBQ with their friends and family. The beach was just a few minutes walk from their house and Kailua Town, Farmer's Market and Whole Foods were just a mile or so from their home. Renting their car was super simple and a great and affordable way to get around and see the island. It was warm in Hawaii so I appreciated the air conditioner in my room. I am back in Seattle and still feeling Aloha. Mahalo to Melissa and Frank

Jun 27, 2019Amazing stay at Mike and Melissa’s! They provided everything we needed and more. Very clean space with great A/C and awesome pool in the yard. They let us use their two beach bikes and we were able to bike all around Kailua. Steps away from a beautiful quiet beach and close to all amenities including a grocery store, restaurants, and a farmers market. 10/10 recommend!

Very friendly hosts, clean and comfortable bed, great location, I would recommend staying here again for friends and/or family. Frank was also sweet and I love that they offer surf lessons as well, even though I wasn't able to take advantage of that offering this time. I love the close location to Kailua beach...definitely recommend the walk along the beach in the morning. Thanks for a great stay!

Jun 27, 2019Our stay in Kailua was absolutely lovely. Our intention was to have a quiet laid back getaway in little Kailua and that is what we got. Kay’s place is private and is a short bike/walk from their beautiful beach. We didn’t even rent a car for our stay and walked around and discovered some awesome local treasures like their Saturday farmer’s market, Manoa Chocolate, and a quaint bookstore as well as other shops and lots of great food. The Hosts were so helpful and wanted to make sure our vacation was the best it could be by being available to answer questions and recommendations but also let us go about our stay with minimal contact otherwise. They let us borrow their beach bikes to ease our walking which ended up being PERFECT for adventuring. We will 100% be back if we return to Kailua for another trip

Jun 27, 2019I cannot recommend AirBnB enough! Not only were Frank and Melissa accommodating, they were also beyond generous and kind. Frank had great tips for local places to explore such as where to go hiking or which beaches were the best to visit. I even took a surf lesson with Frank, which I highly recommend! I had an incredible time and it was really thanks to the wonderful hosts.

Jun 27, 2019Warmly greeted with a large room waiting for us after a long travel in. We were able to have our own bathroom during our stay; clean towels, roomy and shampoo/body wash provided. Mattress is great if you like a very firm bed. Small refrigerator is provided in the room. The best part of this place is the walking distance to the beautiful beach! They also gave us plenty of ideas of things to do, sites to see and food to eat! That made our trip extra special. Thanks again!

Jun 27, 2019The Kailua Blue Ocean Breeze is a wonderful place to stay. You get a private room and bath in a family home. A lovely lap pool and garden space is just outside your window and the house is steps from the beach. Downtown Kailua is a 5-minute drive. The house is very clean and the owners are very nice. There was a problem with the shower the first day that Frank made sure to fix right away. I would definitely stay there again.

Jun 27, 2019It was such a blessing to be able to find such an affordable ArB&B so close to our daughter and her family. The location was also perfect because I had recently injured my left leg and was still able to make the very short walk to the beach. Although our room was within their house, we always felt safe and secure with the locked gate leading to the side of the house. Frank has two children but they rarely were even seen and were always respectful using great manners to greet us just like their parents. Frank regularly greeted us each morning and often inquired about our day's activities when we returned each night. When a family opens up their beautiful home to share Paradise with others, that tells me they are very special people. We highly recommend Frank"s place!
