The single bedroom has an adjacent shared bathroom/toilet. The east-facing well lit room has a comfortable bed, study table, built-in wardrobe and ceiling fan. Walk through the recycled backyard garden with veggie patches, worm farms, compost bins, native beehives and see a home biogas system in action.

The room, on the top floor of a two-storey house, has a leafy outlook. It has a single comfortable bed, a desk with lamp, a side table and ceiling fan. There is a mirrored wardrobe for your clothes and bags. The adjacent bathroom has a bathtub, toilet, vanity unit and shower recess. The bathroom is shared with my aged mother who lives in another bedroom.

Neighborhood Overview
Newington started as the Athletes village during the Sydney Olympic Games of 2000. It was built as a green suburb with solar power and greywater recycling. There are bike paths to the sporting complex of Sydney Olympic Park and beautiful surroundings of wetlands, mangroves, lakes and parks.
Notes
Newington has no railway station and you would need to take a bus from Strathfield or Parramatta or Sydney Olympic Park to get here. There are limited buses at night, last bus being around midnight.
Transit
The house is close to bus-stops from where you can get buses to Strathfield, Sydney Olympic Park or Parramatta stations for rail links to the rest of Sydney. You can also take the bus or walk (about 20 minutes) to the nearby ferry wharf for a lovely journey to the city along Parramatta river. There are limited bus services late in the night. Ample street parking is available for cars. You can use our bicycle for short distances such as visiting the Sydney Olympic Park.

Rules
1. Guests are expected to clean and maintain their rooms (bedroom and bathroom) in a tidy state. 2. If kitchen/laundry facilities are used, please tidy up after use and wash the dishes/utensils when done. We are happy to provide some space in the fridge to store your food. Microwave, oven and gas is available for basic cooking / heating. 3. Dirty laundry should be placed in the laundry basket provided and you can use the washing machine when required. There is a clothes line in the backyard but you can also be provided with an internal drying line for rainy days. 4. This is an environment-friendly household. Please use water and electricity wisely, for example ensuring at least a near-full load for laundry, switching off appliances at the power point after use, taking short showers etc. Please recycle appropriately.

We had a great time with Jyoti, they were great hosts and went out if their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable in their home. The bedroom and bathroom are very spacious. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Jun 27, 2019Wonderful experience staying at Jyoti's place which is only 3-5 min drive from Sydney Olympic Park and only a short walk to the Newington marketplace where there are restaurants, cafes and a supermarket. Also a short 5-7 min drive to the Sydney Olympic wharf where you can enjoy a 1 hour ferry ride into Circular Quay. Very comfortable bed and private bathroom for our use. Jyoti & her family were very hospitable and friendly - we loved conversing with them - just like talking to like-minded old friends.
Jun 27, 2019Jyoti and Uttam's home is a lovely home in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood. Before I even reached the house, locals in the street gave me warm hellos! I had a car and parking on the street was no problem. A lovely location near Olympic Park, super close to Newington shops, cafes, restaurants. My room and bathroom were very very generous and homely and my stay was perfect and relaxing. I am really happy to have stayed with some a warm, welcoming family. A wonderful AirBnb experience!
Jun 27, 2019I feel like I truly have a second home in Sydney, Joyti and Uttam are such a nice couple, they treated me like their daughter, they walked me to the market place, which is super convenient from their place, even drove me to the place I need to go, and we had such an amazing conversation:D; also grandma is really nice, she reminds me my own grandma, she truly cares about me if I have enough to eat, if the quilt is warm enough, etc. I am really grateful for what they did for me, and it is my privilege to stay in this house! Thank you, Joyti, Uttam and grandma, looking forward to visit you again! I had my own toilet and bedroom, which is great!

Jun 27, 2019I had an amazing Airbnb experience at Jyoti' house! Her family welcomed me with an open heart. Not only they picked me up from the station and invited me for dinners, they truly cared about me. I felt like home! The room is bigger than the picture looks, the house is located 3 mins walking distance from the market place and bus stop. I basically had the guest bathroom to myself, I certainly had a lot of privacy. It was such an amazing experience! I highly recommend this place for both a short and long term stay near by Olympic park.

As Jyoti was away a couple of days, her husband, Uttam, gave me all tips for transport and seeing the Sydney fireworks. The room is exactly as decribed. The house is close to a marketplace, with supermarket and cafes. I really had a good time with them.
Jun 27, 2019Lovely, serene location accentuated by the fresh smell of eucalyptus trees, sounds of the birds and nature trails. Good access to public transport, shopping centre with Woolworths, banks, variety of restaurants and cafes within 5 minute walking radius. Room is spacious and home is cosy and comfortable. Jyoti and her family are calm natured, easy going and so helpful with orientating me to the area. I could not have had a more comfortable stay. Thank you Jyoti and family:)
Jun 27, 2019why arent there more than 5 stars available?? ;) i hit the jackpot! my stay with jyoti, uttam and grandma was home away from home, i felt like i belonged to the family! first of all, the communication with jyoti is great, she is straight to the point, providing excellent information and tips, she even offered to pick me up from the train station, i felt welcome from the first minute i arrived, the house is absolutely spotless, clean and tidy with a very peaceful and loving atmosphere, lovely back garden, the guest room is very spacious and clean, the bathroom is spotless, spacious and modern. jyoti and family were helpful in every possible way, thank you so much for letting me use your bike! shops, restaurants and a supermarket are within 5 minutes reach. a bus stop to the train station only a few minutes away. i would most definitely stay here again. thank you and all the best namaste
Jun 27, 2019First of all, this is a place really makes me feel at home! Aunt Jyoti and and uncle Urtum are very hospitable and kindness. I have to mention when I came back late in one night, they messaged me and confirmed whether I was OK. Regarding to the house, there is a well decorated and pretty house in a very quite, beautiful and safe neighbor. More importantly, it is so convenient because it only takes less then 5mins to bus station and newington market place.

The area was extremely handy to Olympic Park where I was working so I could walk to work. A peaceful, stress free environment a short stroll to restaurants, cafes & Woolworths. Jun 27, 2019The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, very clean and tidy. The whole family was very wonderful and welcoming of me so I felt comfortable staying there. Jyoti's mother even offered to show me around the neighbourhood to see local shops and restaurants. Do note that the bedroom is located upstairs so if you're carrying a lot of luggage, be prepared to carry it up and down on arrival and departure. Even though it was a short stay, I enjoyed it and hopefully will get to meet this lovely family again.

Jun 27, 2019Jyoti and her family were lovely and welcoming hosts who went above and beyond to assist me and make me feel welcome. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Their house was just a short bus ride away from Sydney Olympic Park train station, as well as The Lodge, YMCA/Armory in the Olympic Park grounds. Newington Marketplace was a short 2 minute walk and had a number of restaurants, as well as a Woolies. If I ever need to return to a function at The Lodge or Olympic Park, I won't hesitate to stay with Jyoti and her family again! Thanks!
Jun 27, 20191. The room is more spacious than it looks in the picture and the ceilling fan will keep the room cool. 2. You can either take a bus and a ferry or a bus and a train to get to the city. There are less frequent bus from the station to the place at night so you should probably check it in advance. From Strathfield, it takes roughly 20 mins by bus. 3. You can find lots of affordable/good Korean eateries in the near area as there is a hugh korean community. 4. If you are looking for super convinient place, this is not for you but if you like staying away from the coty
