After many visits to this beautiful city I found that rental apts are often overpriced and poorly maintained, so I built this 42 sq meter loft apt from the ground up to be the perfect holiday retreat. Located 100 meters from the beach in a festive neighborhood near the Copacabana Palace hotel, close to metro, theatre, gym, great restaurants, and a friendly street scene. The apt is on the 7th floor. The bldg has a 24 hour door man, security cameras, AC, TV, acoustic windows, ceiling fan, cable and internet, comfortable high quality queen size bed, and ample storage for clothes and luggage. Built in the studio/ loft style with large open room and fully equipped american style kitchen. Sleek, modern style with Brazilian antiques, marble, and mirrors. It is easy to walk to the Sugarloaf at one end of Copacabana beach or the scenic fort at the other. Nearby is an excellent french bakery if you prefer to make coffee at home and enjoy breakf

Neighborhood Overview
Legendary, historic, Copacabana! Several local street markets for fresh seafood and produce on alternating days. Nearby parks for soaking up the local color. Theatre across the street with live concerts. Numerous excellent restaurants in walking distance from the apt. I have a restaurant guide to share with my favorites.

causey studio appartement in a good location in Copacabana. just over a bus stop ,one block away from the beach and pretty close to metro. the airconditioner was a life saver in the hot summer of Rio. there is plenty of little restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood.
Jun 27, 2019The ultimate in convenience. Everything you need in a copacabana base... High quality firm queen size bed. A great wifi connection. Not to mention A great location Everything you need is steps away... The beach, Busses, the metro, supermarkets, restaurants --including an excellent per kilo restaurant right next door. Dennis was helpful, honest and a pleasure to deal with. He provided great restaurant and bar suggestions. Being (Website hidden by Airbnb) a noisy busy street... Part of the convenience... Im a light sleeper and was woken up very early by traffic noise. My partner did not have trouble sleeping through it. In all, a perfect place to be based... 24 hour doorman so we felt very safe.
Jun 27, 2019Excellent apartment! First of all it would be desirable to note a smart site, 3 minutes on foot to Copakabana beach, in his best area. All conveniences are, but the Internet sometimes vanishes. And as a whole everything is good! Pure entrance friendly neighbors and protection. Nearby there are a lot of small shops where it is possible to buy everything that is necessary initially, changes, travel agencies, small restaurants and cafe. At distance of one quarter a big supermarket. Remained are very happy with rest!!! Thanks a lot!!!
Jun 27, 2019Here is the short version: I would gladly return to stay in Dennis' apartment. Here's the slightly longer version: Dennis and his property manager Will do a great job welcoming guests. Moreover they were very responsive whenever I had a question or an issue. The apartment is furnished with everything I needed and a whole lot more. The neighborhood is lively, which in my opinion makes it a safe place - I never had any problems walking around at all hours of the night. The location is outstanding, with metro access a few blocks away and bus/van access to routes that will get you all over Rio no more than a block away. Highly recommended, and like I said, I'd happily stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Perfect place for us to crash during our stay in Rio de Janeiro. Excellent location, 24 hour access, and everything we needed close by. You could walk or take transit anywhere, but we rented a car to visit friends and we even found relatively cheap or even free overnight parking nearby. In Rio that's in short supply! A couple of minor maintenance problems were taken care of promptly by property manager while we were out, so no hardship there. It's right on a major street so you wake to Rio traffic waking up, but that was part of the charm for us and a push to go out & get our morning coffee. Seriously, my only real complaint is that there wasn't more dresser space for clothes! We would certainly want to re-book when we come back. Thanks to Dennis & Will, great place.
Jul 27, 2019The apartment was very nice and in a good, central location. Taxi pick up zone across street and a metro station a couple of blocks away. Beach a block away and restaurants and bars of all price levels in close proximity. Dennis was a very solicitous host and emailed a couple of times during my stay to make sure everything was okay. Having stayed in Copa before I was a little concerned about the security situation but I neednt have been. The difference between now and 2 years ago is like night and day. I never once felt uncomfortable and can honestly say I felt safer in the busy, bustling neighborhood around this apartment than I do back home in Las Vegas. I would not hesitate to recommend the place to friends or family members. If you are looking for a more "authentic" travel experience in Rio then skip the overpriced hotels and rent an apartment like this one. One quibble: The coffee maker is on its last legs. I like to have a big pot of Brazilian coffee in the morning and it never let me down but its getting close to retirement age. In short, I fully recommend this apartment.
Jun 27, 2019Thank you Dennis. Perfect location, safe building, and friendly doormen. The apart was clean, and Will (the apart manager) was there on my arrival. Please, if you think of coming to Rio, don't hesitate! Rent Dennis apart, and forget everything you heard about Rio! The city has been cleaned down, i haven't felt unsafe one's. The beaches are beautiful, and the Cariocas are very friendly. I will come back.
Jun 27, 2019Very conveniently located 1 block from Copa Beach. Came in very handy on New Year's Eve with 2.5mil people going to the beach. Thanks to Dennis (owner) and Will (host) for all the info and help. The apartment caters for all you needs if you like to be on the go and enjoy Rio. It is interestingly interiorly decorated. The fan and aircon was a life saver in the Rio heat. Wifi was a very welcome tool to find your way in Rio.
Jun 27, 2019Perfect apartment! Just came back after 2 incredible weeks in Rio. Impossible to imagine place which is located better. There’s all you need. Many restaurants and juice bars, large beach (just 3 min to walk), bus station ( 1 min), metro (5 min), banks, changes, shops, supermarkets….. The area is very safe. It’s very convenient like at home. We spent a lot of happily moments there. Thank you a lot to Dennis & Will, perfect place!!! Highly recommended. February 2013.

Jun 27, 2019Dennis' Studio was very well kept/Stylish and very comfortable, in a great location, walk to beach and many places all within walking distance. Dennis went above and beyond and helped us with suggestions while visiting and lists of restuarants to try and good to know info that really helped! Best option in Copacabana!
Jun 27, 2019The stay at the apartment was as advertised. The room is excellently located with food and groceries close by. The manager was prompt with our requests and made us very comfortable. The security guard at the main entrance provided us added comfort. I would recommend the apartment to anyone who is visiting Rio de Janeiro and want an inexpensive stay close to Copacabana beach. Jun 27, 2019Dennis was the perfect host. The apartment looks just as pictured and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Location is great too; 1 block from Copacabana beach, taxis always available right out front, currency exchange next door and everything else you might need within a block or two. Both Dennis and the apt manager Wil were very responsive and accommodating. Dennis even provided me with a list of fabulous restaurants to try! I would not hesitate to stay here again next time visit Rio! Thanks Dennis!
Jun 27, 2019Apt. is excellent. My only disappointment was that there wash't a microwave or toaster available. These items are important to American or European travelers. apt was as described. Location is excellent and convenient to Metro and buses. Local manager was very accommodating and friendly. I would rent again.
Jun 27, 2019Even before our arrival Dennis was very helpful and supportive, always reachable and ready to answer to any questions. Once in Rio his apartment manager Will took over this part of being a lovely help with anything really. Apart from this great interpersonal experience throughout our stay, the apartment is just as wonderful as pictured. Only a few minutes walk from the beach, close to a 24h supermarket, a bus stop taking you to almost all touristic sights as well as a bunch of great restaurants and even a money exchange next door. If you have any doubts or it's your first time in rio or with airbnb I can only recommend you book with Dennis since he is very reliable and so is Will. Muito obrigada por tudo e até a próxima!!
Jun 27, 2019Dennis (and his manager Will) was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Dennis was there to welcome us and he's so far I know the most sympathic host ever!!! The flat was better than on the pictures, spacier, cozier, and actually cheaper than the others ones I checked then. Very well located, and near to any conveniences, you really should rent this flat eyes closed!!
Jun 27, 2019We had a fantastic experience staying in Dennis's apartment. From the beginning of the reservation process to the end of our stay, Dennis was helpful and accommodating . The apartment location was amazing. It is modern, clean and well kept. We felt very safe. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Rio!

Jun 27, 2019As stated in an earlier review the apartment is actually bigger than it appears in the pictures. I didn't get a chance to meet Dennis but he was available by phone and internet and provided very helpful recommendations. The property manager Will was also a wonderful resource. Please if you have any questions about the area or things to do use him as a resource. He also was very flexible with my arrival and departure times due to my flight schedules. There were restaurants, bars, stores for necessities, public transport nearby and the beach was 1 block away down a well lit street. I felt very comfortable and safe but also like I was amongst the people. I had a great time staying here, would recommend the aparment and would stay here again.
Jun 27, 2019Dennis apartment has everything you need. Location is perfect since it is one block from Copacabana beach and its a safe during day and night. Also you have many supermarkets, shops and restaurants everywhere. There is a taxi rank in front of the apartment so it is great if you want to go out at night (e.g Lapa is 6 minutes by taxi). Wifi and air air conditioner goes perfect! Highly recommended Dennis place!

Jun 27, 2019What a lively place! I am really glad I have chosen that flat, it’s never boring at Copacabana and whatever you need, you get it all within 5 minutes walk. The place is safe, we have been here 1 month. I can tell Dennis is a caterer because the kitchen has everything you might need to cook. The bed is comfy and big, thanks Dennis! Also good shower, nice place and I would recommend this to everyone. Dennis is really nice, whenever I was asking him something he always was helpful and kind, I really appreciate that! Tx for hosting us in the most amazing city I have ever seen, tx for the absolute outstanding experience in Rio.
