Welcome to Sydney! This quirky terrace house has been recently renovated from its old corner shop origins to be a bright and airy open-plan designer residence with quality inclusions throughout. The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one of each occupied by the owner). The rented bedroom has a mirrored built-in wardrobe, and private access to the outdoor raised terrace area - perfect for catching a bit of Sydney sun. The room also comes with a double bed, an LCD TV with Entertainment channels from Foxtel/cable TV, and a radio/alarm clock that also acts as an iPod/iPhone charger and music player. It is also fully air-conditioned (as is the remainder of the house). Guests have their own bathroom (on the ground floor), and use of the new kitchen (gas cook top and electric oven, dishwasher and fridge) along with use of the front-loading washing machine. Getting around the inner areas of Sydney is easy from this location. Most attractions are within walking distance (within 20-30 mins walk). However, if you're not so keen on walking, there are numerous bus routes that service the area (from Flinders Street and Oxford Street). The Sydney public transport network can most easily be accessed with use of an Opal Card - which I can supply if needed.

Rules
No smoking inside. As I work full time I can only guarantee a late check-in (after 6pm) on weekdays. However, there is some flexibility with this, depending on your arrival day and time (any time on weekends is fine for example, and I can sometimes get away during lunch breaks if my workload permits). So if you have your travel details and would like an earlier check-in..... please ask and it may be possible.

We really enjoyed our stay! Great location, modern and clean appartment and very helpfull and nice host. We can definently recommend. Note that the bed is snug for two large adults, but we didn't mind :o)
Jun 27, 2019David's place was really beautiful and (Darlinghurst) is the perfect location from which to explore the rest of Sydney. The bedroom has plenty of space to 'unpack' and the adjacent balcony is great when you want stop moving for a bit. The shared kitchen and living space are very comfortable.
Jun 27, 2019DJ was a delightful host. His place is amazing. It's clean, modern and much better than staying in a hotel. Its tastefully appointed and has all the conveniences that a traveler could want, at an affordable price. His place is ideally located on the boundaries of Surrey Hills and Darlinghurst with a bus stop just steps away. You have access to a sunny balcony from your bedroom and the bed is quite comfortable. DJ will give you your privacy if you want but is also quite friendly and willing to help with suggestions for meals or things to do. I will definitely stay here again if I have the chance to return to Sydney.
Jun 27, 2019David's place is perfectly located if you want to enjoy the city. It's also very tastefully designed. We found everything we needed. The place was clean and quiet. David is a true gentleman. We had some scheduling problems and had no place to stay, he took us in with really little notice and saved our trip.

The location can't be beat, it's very central and I was able to walk to the meetings I had in Sydney. There is a lot to do nearby but the apartment is a block away from the noise: you'll sleep well! I wish I could have stayed longer!

The house had a very positive atmosphereand I felt welcomed..David is a very decent, polite and nice host. The house is situated in a small and quiet street which is situated in the heart of beautiful Darlinghurst. A lot of restaurants, cafés and shops around and parks in food distance. I can recommend Davids place 100%! Thanks one more time David!
Jun 27, 2019The house is in a great location only a couple of hundred metres from Tailor Square. Its walking distance from all the entertainment and dining options on Oxford Street, Victoria Road and Kings Cross. The bedroom was nice but a little small for a male-male couple with luggage. The bathroom is nice but it's a little awkward walking up and down the stairs to get between the bedroom and the bathroom. If you're not worried about privacy this is just an inconvenience. The bathroom's location next to the living area is also a little embarrassing when you have those noisy moments.
Jun 27, 2019Great host! I really enjoyed my stay with David, he made me feel very welcome, and the room was perfect. The private bathroom is just down the stairs, and there is a door straight onto the terrace from the bedroom, which was lovely in the mornings to get a little sun! Very comfortable bed (better than the one I have at home), and plenty of storage space. Everything worked perfectly, the wifi was fast, and David left me space in the kitchen should I wish to buy food. He also very kindly let me use his washing machine when my trip was extended, and even hung it out to dry when he got home before me! Very kind and accommodating host, highly recommended for your stay in Sydney! I'd also recommend "the wholemeal cafe" just round the corner

Jun 27, 2019Great location. Could travel to Townhall easily by bus and the bus stop is just 5 minutes walk away. The area is generally safe because its located near the main junction and I feel safe walking back home because it's not one of those dark streets that you can see elsewhere. Lots of food located nearby . House is really clean and very comfortable.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay (my boyfriend and I & a friend and I) with DJ was very conveniant. Our plane got in late which was no drama at all. The place is very conveniantly located in walking distance to all the good spots in Paddington, Surry Hills and Darlinghurst and about 15 - 20 minutes walk into the CBD. Everything was lovely and clean and the house was easy to get in and out of. DJ even provided a succinct list of dinner spots to try. I would definately reccomend staying here to all travellers. His place is clean and attractive. I loved the little balcony off of my room. I ate most of my meals out there. I hgihly recommend his place. Thank you, David.

Jun 27, 2019I loved staying at David's house as it was the perfect place for my trip when I went to Sydney for a conference. 1- The location is very convenient (close to business district but in a quiet and nice area). There were also many food places around. I found a good grocery store and a fine pizza restaurant near the house, which was one David's recommendations. 2- David was very helpful and welcoming. He was kind enough to let me check in early and check out late on Sundays. 3- The house is very clean and modern. The bedroom is comfortable and it has a nice terrace. What I loved the most about my experience is that although I had tons of work to do during my stay, David's place allowed me to do so with tranquility and convenience. I highly recommend this place to people who needs tranquility, comfort and convenience. I will definitely recommend it to my friends, and will check it out again when I will return to Australia.

Jun 27, 2019We had a fantastic stay with the mysterious DJ Walker, who is always impeccable with his sense of timing! He is well organized, well groomed, clean and tidy with a readiness to be available over the mobile. The place is clean, minimalist yet spacious with a splendid layout of equipment tucked away in mystical drawers and doors in neat little compartments. The design of the place is quite enchanting, and we are tempted to ask if the man himself had designed the place?! Lovely neighborhood that is easy with get around, strong WiFi signal, with nice brekkie eateries and convenient access to public transport. Suitably enchanted for our 8 days stay here, and proud to say that we love to call it our home, albeit a short while. Will definitely ask to come back again if we were to visit Sydney! GOD bless!

I strolled along the area and let myself getting lost in the city and exposed to so many cool areas in Sydney like the famous Oxford St, Hyde Park, Surry Hills, Kings Cross and Victoria St. The bed in my bedroom is so comfy, I had a hard time every morning to leave the bed. It is just too comfortable. I just love how David prepares all the helpful Sydney Guide and various board games he has in the guest room. Definitely a place to stay if you're after a nice and cozy place in Sydney.

The location worked out really well too for us. Wish we would have had more time - e.g. to relax outside on the balcony. David was uncomplicated, and seemed to be a really great guy. I would definitely stay at David's place again.

It was exactly like on the pictures and very clean. unfortunately I wasn't around a lot, but when we had a chance to chat, David was a helpfull and very pleasant host. The place is only a few minutes away from the bus stops at Oxford Street and shops and restaurants/cafés are practically around the corner, still the area was very nice and quiet. I certainly would stay at David's place again.

Jun 27, 2019The stay with David was very comfortable, safe and relaxing. A great side street off the main road, but without any noise...even on your private balcony! David was a good host in making sure you settle into the area alright. He provided excellent choices for restaurants and bars, maps and activity booklets throughout Sydney. David was great to stay with, for the short time I was there, but was good a chat after I'd been winding through the city all day. I recommend staying the David, for the quality house and room, good company and location (an easy walk to Hyde Park). Thanks David.

Jun 27, 2019I stayed at David's place for 4 nights while I was in Sydney for a friend's birthday. His place was exactly as it looks in the photos. It was secure, well appointed, spotlessly clean and despite it's proximity to Darlinghurst's nightlife, it was very quiet. The room had everything you could want, a comfy bed, plenty of storage, aircon, TV with Foxtel and direct access to a sunny deck. The private bathroom was also modern and luxurious. David was a thoughtful and considerate host and made me feel completely welcome. The booklet he had compiled of the many great cafes, bars and restaurants in the area was also very useful, and I sampled many of them. The location is superb, with so much within walking distance, buses practically on the doorstep and trains just a short stroll away. I would definitely stay at David's place if I was in Sydney again and highly recommend it to anyone heading to Sydney. This was my first experience with AirBnB. I don't think I'll ever stay in a Hotel again! Thanks for a great stay, David!
Jun 27, 2019I really enjoyed my stay by David, the appt was really clean and he's a perfect host, well organized and very helpful. You will have all the privacy that you might need. All you need will be already in the room: recommendations, map, wifi code, plug, umbrella, extra blanket, everything! The bed is very comfortable, and the terrace is such a luxury to enjoy some calm after walking all the day in that big city. The location of the appt is efficient, as its really easy to get in all the different area of Sydney (the Domain, Botanical garden, Opera House, circular quay to get the ferry, Potts point and Oxford street is just down there). David was kindly let me do a laundry, which is great when you are traveling for a while. I will definitely stay by him again for my next trip to Sydney.

I had my own room with air-con, TV, closets etc. and even had my own bathroom! If you're in Sydney I can definitely recommend staying at DJ's!

Clean, very near to city centre, own bathroom, ... I have not a single thing to complain about and would stay here again, should I travel again to Sydney.

Loved the little terrace, perfect connection to city and sights (we walked a lot), super internet connection, luxury textiles and even our private shower... Everything was as expected and better. David was a perfect host. We'd love to stay there again and definitely recommend it.

Jun 27, 2019We've stayed at Davids place for 7 days and it was as beautiful as in the pictures. Although we didn't see David a lot, he was a great host and provided everything we needed. The location is amazing; Darlinghurst is a very lively neighbourhood, though the house' location is very peaceful. Within 200 meters is a busstop that brings you to Bondi beach or the Sydney Harbour both within 15 minutes. Also nice is Surry Hills, a lovely neighbourhood to go out for dinner or a drink, which is located within a 10 minute walk from the residence. We surely recommend this place!

Jun 27, 2019I stayed at David's lovely apartment for 6 days. Upon my arrival, David showed me around and he had even put together a scrapbook with recommendations on places to eat! The apartment is exactly like what you see in the pictures. It was very clean and everything that you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable is provided! There are a couple of nice cafés near surry hills and oxford street. It takes just a straight bus to the cbd or to the beach! David is a very nice person and it is safe to stay there for solo travelers. I highly recommend his place! Thank you for making my stay really comfortable and I really felt at home =)

Little did I know that his place was located within the gay district of Sydney, which was a huge bonus for my husband and I, and it already made us feel like we were at home. David had an awesome place and it looked even better than what we saw in the photos, if that's even possible! Overall his place is sleek, modern and very clean. I love the pieces of artwork all around his place; they add just the right amount of character. Our room was fully equipped with such great amenities including a tv, an iPod player, a balcony, and a private bathroom with not one - but TWO - showers! I felt like my husband and I were in a candy store =) In addition, David provided a very helpful and well-compiled visitor booklet which contained valuable information about the nearby bars and restaurants with his own descriptions and reviews of each place, and even provided maps for each section. And let me tell you, we went to almost half of the places he recommended in the booklet and they were all AWESOME! David definitely has great taste, and that is saying a lot. David even joined us for dinner during one of our nights there, where we got to know him better. He is such a nice and friendly guy! David went above and beyond our expectations as an airbnb host, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for an awesome place in a centralized and convenient location in Sydney. It was spotlessly clean and tidy and you feel right at home, perhaps may even make you want to refurbish your house to look like David's place. It's nestled away in a quiet street corner but in a centrally located part of town. A short bus ride to circular quay with good bus connectivity to other popular tourist places such as Bondi. The room was so well equipped with a smart TV, cable, an iPod player and a balcony. For those new to air bnb and used to hotels, you will get the privacy and creature comforts of a hotel room with a homely vibe here. David has also gone through lengths to prepare a Sydney restaurant and bar guide and so sweetly leaves you with a bar of welcome chocolate (caveat for those watching their holiday weight :D). Pity, I only met David on my first day. Our separate timings kept us from catching up.

The room and the house is exactly the same as shown in photos, very clean and neat, David did a great job on renovating it. The location is perfect, it is in a quiet alley and everything is within 5 mins walk, the buses is very convenient and take ppl to CBD, Bondi, Glebe, etc. Our stay with David is wonderful thanks to his hospitality.

It is perfectly located - very close to transport, Cafés, Shops and you can easily reach a lot of sights by relatively Short walks (Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, ...) The House/Room is very clean and Looks exactly like the pictures. Very nice room with balcony, TV, comfortable Bed and a Lot of Space to store your belongings. The bathroom also is very clean and Even bigger than expected. David is very nice and helpfull - he can help you Out in almost every Situation. David even created a booklet, which recommends some nice Bars, Restaurants and Breakfast-Offers. Thanks for everything, David. We really enjoyed staying with you/at your beautiful place. Jun 27, 2019Three reasons why you should definitely stay here: - Perfect location: in a quiet street and yet close to both the city centre and gastronomic paradise Surry Hills. Very well served by public transport too. - The house itself is smartly renovated, the room and your bed comfortable, and you have your own bathroom and even a terrace! - You stay with a very attentive host. He seems to be online all the time, replying instantly, which is really practical for bookings or any further questions. And he has just thought of everything, including a charming welcoming package and a booklet with the best local spots to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, a drink... This has been my first experience with airbnb, and a real good one!

It is so incredibly central making for a quick walk to all the best Cafes and restaurants in Surry Hills. The location was perfect for me as I was in Sydney on business so was able to schedule a lot of my business meetings over coffee - David's location subsequently made my time very efficient. Upon arrival David provided clear instructions on the house amenities. He graciously provided a bottle of red wine (which I didn't drink but the thought was very much appreciated). We didn't see a lot of each other due to our busy work schedules. I unfortunately left my wallet at David's when I was in rush to leave so he offered to post this to me in Victoria. His house is spotlessly clean and I loved having cable tv available in the room when I just wanted to chill out for a while. The house is located behind busy Taylor square but it get like it was locked away in a private suburb - there was no evidence of any street noise at all. A little oasis in a very busy intersection of Oxford and Flinders st. I look forward to having the chance to stay with David again in future.

Das Haus ist perfekt gelegen - ganz in der Nähe von Cafés, Geschäften und man kommt sogar zu Fuß in die Stadt/zur Oper (oder mit einem der unzähligen Busse). Das Haus/Zimmer ist sehr sauber und sieht genauso aus wie auf den Bildern. DJ ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wenn wir ihn gebraucht haben, war er jederzeit da, ohne dass man zu sehr aufeinander sitzt. Danke für alles! We really enjoyed our time at DJs House. It is perfectly located - very close to transport, Cafés, Shops and you can easily reach a lot of sights by relatively short walks. The house/room is very clean and looks exactly like the pictures. DJ is a very nice and helpfull guy and helped us when ever needed! Thanks for all!

Jun 27, 2019Dj is a nice host who provided warmest welcome and great hospitality. He self created a guide book to show me where to eat, to see and what to do in Sydney. He helped me to do laundry twice during my 5 day stay. He is place is well deco and quiet at night. The bed is extremely comfortable and I had good sleep every night. A nice place and I recommend his place to whoever Travelling to Sydney!

Place was in a great location, cool historic building from 1860's, very clean house, and DJ provided loads of amenities including an entire professional guide to the city, which I took full advantage of & had a blast doing so! Jun 27, 2019Me and my friend had a week in Sydney over New Years. It was very hard to find a place to stay, but DJ was quick and easy to communicate with! We enjoyed the location of the house because it's walking distance to the inner city and has easy access to beaches by buss. David is very kind and helpful, and he has made a great guide for what you can do in Sydney and some popular bars/restaurants. Our experience of the city and the house was good, although it rained a lot... We don't know what we would have done without the huge umbrellas you provided haha. Would definitely stay at your place again if I'm ever in Sydney again. Thank you for your hospitality.
Jun 27, 2019I stayed for DJ for 2 and a half weeks. The pics are accurate, the place is immaculate and clean and quiet, the location is incredible, and DJ was very helpful. I must admit found the layout of the guest bathroom odd...you have to walk down the stairs and kind of go through the lounge to get to it. Some people may be comfortable with that. I wasn't. One negative, and it was a big shock with me being from London, was that I came home one day and there were tons of tiny spiders on the wall of my room, that must have come in from the patio. I managed to spray as many as I could, but I must have missed a few as the following few days I kept seeing bigger and bigger spiders in the room. I told DJ about it and he cleaned the dead spiders and spray off the walls, but really what should have happened is that the room should have been fumigated the next day, or I should have recieved some kind of compensation. I guess spiders are not seen as a big deal in Australia. So overall good, except for the spiders.

Jun 27, 2019Ich hatte das Zimmer bei David für eine Woche gebucht. Alles war wie beschrieben bzw. auf den Fotos abgebildet, sehr schön und sauber. Die Lage ist optimal, um die Stadt zu erkunden, Bushaltestelle gleich ums Haus, dennoch ist das Zimmer selbst ruhig, so dass man gut schlafen kann. Wer ein Zimmer im CBD sucht, ist hier richtig. David war bemüht, mir zu helfen, wenn ich eine Frage hatte und sehr höflich. Danke David!

Jun 27, 2019I spent a week at David's house. I must say this is by far and away the best place I have ever stayed. His house is very nice, modern decoration, very clean, close to bus stops, cafés, restaurants and a walking distance from CBD. The room is clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed, cable tv, air conditioner, a large balcony. The bathroom is very clean and the shower is perfect. Adapters for Australian plug is available in the room (although I had mine, I think it was very kind of him for supplying it to guests). David was very kind. I give this a mark of 10 out of 10. I would definitely stay at David's house again. Thank you very much.
Jun 27, 2019Dj was very helpful and kind. Het made me feel very welcome. There was a welcome bottleneck of wine and information about the neighbourhood. The room was exactly as described with a comfortable bed and netflix. I had a great stay and would absolutely book here again!

It was clean, convenient, and had good space. I also liked that I had my own bathroom. Overall I would say David's place is a recommendable one if you're looking for a place to stay in Sydney.

Jul 27, 2019I had a wonderful stay at David's home. What an incredible location literally on the doorstep of Flinders St and Oxford St (including many of the most well-known gay bars/clubs), and yet so quiet. From there you can also pretty much get yourself anywhere in Sydney really easily and quickly. The property is exactly as described, and if anything, had a few pleasant surprises in terms of the various things he provided. Oh, and the bed is super comfy. I didn't have much opportunity to interact with David (as I was mainly seeing friends and attending a wedding), but he provided everything I needed and was really nice and flexible. I would very happily stay with David again the next time I'm in Sydney.

Jun 27, 2019David's place was great. It's a super cool place with some very fun artwork and it's right around the corner from Oxford Street which has a ton of bars and restaurants. The place was incredibly clean. The bedroom has a door directly out to a terrace which was great as well. David was very responsive and a great host. He had a great booklet of suggestions on things to do, places to eat, etc., and even joined in on a trip to the bar. Very respectful of space and very pleasant to be around! Definitely will recommend this place to friends and family that visit.

The location is unbeatable - super close to shops, cafes and safely located to walk to and from. The private tv and netflix was a real treat - I may have binge watched a night or two free from judgement. David was a lovely warm host throughout my 4night stay. 110% recommended :)

Location (just 2mins from Oxford Street, walking distance to Hyde Park, public transportation to City/Bondi/Central within minute of walk) his renovated house with all comfort and extra touches. Staying at David’s means to have responsive host who pays attention to his guests and privacy or friendly chat (as desired). Jun 27, 2019I stayed at David's place for 3 nights for Mardi Gras weekend and it was a perfect place for me being close (walking distance) to restaurants, bars and public transportation. David was a great host, very communicative and he also helped me check-in early once I arrived from my cruise. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom has air conditioning for extra comfort. The bathroom being in the first floor does create a little bit of inconvenience but this is stated in his listing very clear and was not a surprise. I highly recommend David's place and would stay again in future trips to Sydney.
