Becky's home is exactly as described. There's a lot of space, plenty of towels and kitchenware and it's really clean. Prior to arrival, Becky sent us a very detailed email with information on how to get there and some recommendations around the area. This house is very close to the Volcanoes National Park and in the middle of the rainforest, however the house has everything you might need as well as WiFi. Recommended!

Due to a hurricane, we asked if we can check in a few hours early and Becky was very nice to accommodate our request. The description of the listing is accurate and Becky is very responsive. I would stay again if I am in that area. This location is really like a rainforest. Thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights and would recommend the house to holiday makers, families, groups and anyone who needs a base for exploring the wonderful Volcano National Park. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable and the house fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen in particular is very well equipped (although we were out most of the time as the Volcano park is so fascinating). Definitely recommended.
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I and 3 adult friends really enjoyed our stay at Ohana House in Volcano Village. It is a lovely home with spacious, well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. The great room is large, beautiful and has a cozy warm feeling at the same time. The big windows and high ceiling give plenty of light and lovely view into the rain forest garden. We had everything we needed for a base to explore the Volcanoes National Park.
Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay in this charming place. It's very spacious & clean and has all of the comforts you would want with really close access to the park. Becky is very thoughtful and puts a lot of care in the way the house is setup for guests (lots of towels, etc). I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Jun 27, 2019The Ohana House was comfortable, welcoming, and well appointed. The website photos and information represented the property accurately. The rain forest setting was very lush and beautiful. Living in Honolulu, we could not get over the peace and quiet that the property setting offered. We didn't hear a sound at night and except for an occasional neighbor walking a dog, we did not see anyone during the day. This truly was a private retreat and a close base for hiking trips and visits to Volcano National Park. We look forward to returning.

Jun 27, 2019'Ohana House' is really 'Ohana Home'. It is an oasis. Our family of four had more than enough room in this beautiful yellow house. We felt very much in tune with the surrounding natural environment, and we enjoyed all the modern amenities. We were completely enchanted by the rainforest, the active caldera, and the petroglyphs on the lava field. And we really felt so at home. Thank you Becky for creating such a comfortable, beautiful space. Our experience exceeded our expectations.
Jun 27, 2019This tranquil island home was a perfect spot for my family to explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It was a beautiful setting and the house has more than enough room for us to sleep comfortably, hang out, cook and play games. Becky was friendly and responsive and provided more helpful advice on activities and local attractions than we could even take advantage of! Highly recommend.

Jun 27, 2019The Ohana House was comfortable and well appointed. The website photos and information represented the house accurately. The rainforest setting was very dense, and initially slightly foreboding. Those impressions faded as we got into the place. The kitchen was very well appointed in terms of appliances and cooking equipment and certainly gave the impression that Becky had taken the time to think through what is needed to relax. The proximity to the Volcano National Park was excellent as it allows you to return to areas that may have been foggy or rainy when you first visit. We may need to visit again when the lava is flowing! The local food shopping is essentially limited to bread and milk. Ensure you bring all your food from Hilo or Kona to avoid a long trip for groceries. I highly recommend the little eatery next to the general store - probably the best meal we had on the island (and they were all pretty good).
Jun 27, 2019We had a lovely stay at this Volcano house! The house was large and spacious and the kitchen well equipped. It was a really good location close to the Volcanoes National Park. I would highly recommend staying here. Our host was extremely responsive to all our questions prior to arrival and this was very much appreciated. Easy to find even in the dark in the rain! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We really loved the gas stove especially!
Jun 27, 2019Becky's house was wonderful! Best beds ever! We all slept like babies with the chilly volcano weather and great beds. Kitchen had everything you could need. The fireplace is perfect, and we spent many hours in front of it playing the provided games.
Jun 27, 2019Our family had a great visit to Volcano NP and Becky's home was a perfect perch for the few days we were there. The house is simple, clean and spacious. Becky is an attentive host. Although she was not on location, she responded to our questions immediately and was very helpful. The house has a stove to warm the cottage on cool nights. The neighborhood is very quiet and conveniently located to the park entrance and restaurants. To our surprise and delight, we had the best dinner of our entire 3-week visit to the Big Island just down the road- local ingredients and friendly faces. Also loved the farmer's market on Sunday morning.

Jun 27, 2019Close to the volcano, go up at night and see the red glow. The house is very comfortable. We had only 3 people, but there are real beds for 8 in 3 BRs and a nice loft. Take a little walk in the trail through the ferns and forest in the back. One expects a velociraptor to appear. Good internet and TV service. Nice gas fireplace that starts with one button to warm things up. Kitchen has everything one would need, though we found restaurants close by. Light switches labelled:)
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful rainforest home. Great location - close to the volcano and a quick drive to town. Seeing the volcano at night for the 4th of July really offered up great "fireworks"! House was set up well for visitors - well equipped kitchen and rooms as described (my 8-year-old loves having her own room in the loft). Becky was a phenomenal host. She provided good directions ahead of our visit, so it was easy to find the house and easy to let ourselves in. She also provided a list of things to do around Volcano and Hilo, and we spent a good deal of time working through her lost. We did have an issue when we arrived - a miscommunication between Becky and the local property manager about the timing of our arrival. I was impressed with how responsive and apologetic both of them were. Jo, the property manager, came over to personally apologize and we resolved it to my complete satisfaction. Sometimes you learn a lot about how well a property is managed when things go wrong, and these folks are great. Would not hesitate to stay there again!
Jun 27, 2019Great experience arriving in the evening to Becky's house with the sounds of a hawaiian rainforest. The house itself is quiet and comfortable. It's the perfect forest retreat to relax and enjoy nature and close the State volcano park. We loved the local farmers market where we discovered the community (vegetables/fruit/bread/meat, prepared food, artists and local organizations) that live in and around volcano village. There is also the Volcano Village Arts Center on the way to the State park, they had interesting exhibits and a very dedicated team.

Jun 27, 2019this is my first time to use bnb and it is a family trip. The house is really nice cozy and comfortable. The outside view is special as well. The inside decoration is warm and new. Cooking instrument is well equipped and I can cook myself. Really unforgetable staying experience there.

Jun 27, 2019Its a very cozy place. You can stay here like a local. This house has a plenty of rooms for a big group. The town is small and many places closed early. Make sure you make a reservation if you want to eat at the restaurant or buy groceries in Hilo or Kona. This place has a gas fireplace, heaters, dehumidifiers, washer, dryer, and full kitchen.
Jun 27, 2019This is a very comfortable place to stay. The dehumidifiers are key as the location is in the rainforest and humidity is definitely there - the carpets can have a damp feel at times but this should be expected. The condiments in the fridge and cupboard were very handy as we used the outdoor propane grill one night. The gas fireplace was handy - it does get cool in the evenings even in the summer. We loved the washer/dryer as it was a good size (not like those tiny ones you see stacked in a closet in other rental units). We arrived after sun down so the road was a bit dark as is the whole neighborhood. Don't expect much in the form of street lights or visible street signs. Thank goodness for GPS and smart phone maps. The free wifi was handy as our cell phone carrier signals were weak. The proximity to the entrance to Volcanoes National Park cannot be beat. It gave us an early start into the park and gave us a great place to stay the night after a full day there (including watching sunset from the Jagger Museum lookout). We were very happy with our stay thanks to Becky and her accommodation. Thank you!

Jun 27, 2019This house was perfectly situated close to Volcano National Park, which was the purpose of our visit, and comfortably accommodated our group of 5. There was a good supply of games and moves for our downtime - and a great living room area to convene in - and the condiments and spices available in the kitchen made cooking a breeze without having to buy lots of ingredients that would ultimately go to waste. The house was a little musty when we walked in - to be expected in a wet environment - but we turned the dehumidifiers up just a little and it was great.
Jun 27, 2019Ohana House is warm and welcoming. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Lots of great amenities like TV with DVDs, board games, great kitchen stuff and washer/ dryer. It's so convenient to Volcano National Park, but located in a quiet residential street in a safe neighborhood.

Jun 27, 2019This place has a great layout for several people to stay. It’s both spacious and cozy and so welcoming. Becky was very helpful before our arrival. Close to the National Park and charming and clean and comfortable. The backyard has a little path to walk. The kitchen was nicely stocked. We were very pleased in every way.

Jun 27, 2019Casa bellissima immersa nel foresta pluviale. La casa è curata in tutti i dettagli, con uno stile in linea con la natura circostante. Becky è stata molto di aiuto nel preparare il nostro arrivo dandoci le necessarie informazioni legate alla situazione dell’eruzione del vulcano. La casa è lontana dalla zona colpita, quindi nessun problema. La casa è perfetta per 6 persone, benché abbia solo due bagni e coloro che dormono nel sottotetto devono scendere delle scale per andare in bagno. Ci sono tutte le comodità per rendere piacevolissimo il soggiorno immersi nella foresta.
Jun 27, 2019Beckys place is awesome, perfect for families! So much light and the vaulted ceilings made the home very roomy. We stayed here for a extended period, becky had the home cleaned every week. All the amenities you can want and more. Very nice to have appliances. It gets cold at night so the gas heater was perfect. Located at the back of the subdivision the location is private, the roads were very peaceful. My kids loved the walks around the block each day. There is 3 convenience/mini grocery (2 with gas) stores within 5 minutes and foodland is 30 minute drive. We loved our stay.

Jun 27, 2019The location is wonderful for exploring Volcanoes National Park and the east side of the island in general. It rained nightly (and a few days) while my family stayed which was lovely. It was very clean and fun to eat at the dinning room table while viewing the beautiful rainforest through the huge window.
Jun 27, 2019If you have 3-4days to stay in Eastern big island, it is the best house to recommend. House was very cozy and is located in forrest which my family loved , and many rooms for our 8members. Also, there is barbacue grill, so my family had beef BBQ party everyday. So, I recommended this house to everyone. Only complaint from my family was little cold at night for Korean. For other countries' people, I don't think it is problem. Because Korea house has floor heating system, so Korean get used to live with thin clothes on warm floor at wintertime;)
