Great place! Was just what we needed: a comfortable place to stay close to our friends. Cute place with a nice kitchenette and bathroom. Jeanie was a friendly host as a bonus!

The Green Flash Ohana was a delightful place to land for a few days while we explored Waimea, the north Kona beaches, and the Kohala peninsula. Location is perfect for access to these areas. Weather in Waimea is very pleasant, with evening temps cooler than Kona, and clear fresh mountain air. Accommodations were cute, comfortable and clean with a well stocked kitchenette that you could actually cook in, fresh Kona coffee beans in the fridge, and a selection of tea! The Ohana is very nicely decorated, plenty spacious for two, and feels very private. Garden and grounds are beautiful and rustic. Hunt around and you might find a Chameleon or two in the bushes! Jean is a wonderful host, and made us feel like family. Stay here!

My stay at the Green Flash Guest House was truly wonderful. I had wanted to find a place in Waimea that would give me privacy, lots of light and air, and a feeling of a home vs a hotel. The Green Flash House met all those wishes and more! My hostess, Jeanie, also contributed to my positive experience. Jeanie is warm, friendly, and helpful. She respected my privacy at all times. She seemed to have a knack of appearing in her backyard just when I wanted to talk with her but seemed invisible the rest of the time. She should know I would always welcome the chance to speak to such a rare, spiritual, nice, and entertaining person. I highly recommend this house for one or two guests. I do not recommend this place if you have children. It has too many delicate breakable items on bottom shelves where little hands can reach. Jean's Suite was clean and comfortable. It's bright and breezy and perfect for exploring Kohala. A short drive from restaurants and about 15 minutes from the famous Hapuna Beach. Jean was a great host, she let us borrow some beach chairs and is very knowledgeable about the area. Had a great time and hope to stay here again next trip.

What a lovely place! Exactly what we expected. Comfortable bed, beach toys, location, location, location and very clean. We had a relaxing time exploring, beaching and eating fabulous food at the Sea Food Bar down the road. Jeanie's place is a great base camp. Thank you for sharing Jeanie!

Jean's Ohana was a joy to call home while in Waimea. It was the perfect size with everything you need and more. Very quiet with a peaceful garden outside. Lots of light and privacy. Would definitely recommend and stay there again. Jean was a great host. Mahalo!

Jeanie's place was our favorite of all the places we stayed during our 18 day visit so we ended up going back staying there the last few nights after traveling the whole island. Super comfy bed and very cute Ohana that's equipped and furnished with everything you'd need. Absolutely recommend- Jeanie is a great host!

We fully enjoyed our stay with Jean. She is a great host with many good ideas and guidelines about some of the attractions on the big Island. It is a nice home style stay with a great country feel. Centrally located on the north of the island, You can go from sea to sky within a short drive. We would recommend it to others. Jean is really friendly, fun and down to earth. Her space is beautiful and has a great view of Mauna Kea on a clear day! Convenient location, only 15 minutes to the North Kohala beaches and about 25 minutes to Hawi, depending on how much you want to stop and take in the views. We slept 3 in the space which works if you're all comfortable with each other. Would definitely go back again!

Jean has created a very nice place with a perfectly equipped kitchenette. I immediately felt welcome there. She also provided some fresh fruit and water and was very kind and supportive with questions I had. I loved my stay there. Thank you very much, Jean!

The ohana was a cozy Waimea getaway. Perfect for an adventurous traveling couple. Although attached to the main house, there is plenty of privacy. There is a humble "kitchen" with and single gas camping burner and plenty of cooking supplies --even a coffee grinder, French presses and Kona coffee stocked and on hand. Make sure you solidify check in and out times with the host before you book. She's a one woman show running the airbnb and providing a lovely experience all by herself.

Jeans house is a really nice place to stay. It is clean, very well equipped and we felt very comfortable. Jean is a wonderful host! She provided fresh fruits, bread and coffee beans. it was a pleasure meeting her and we would come back definitely.

The Guest house was lovely and pictures were accurate. I was arriving at night and Jean was not there as she had a previous engagement, but she gave very clear directions making it easy to find. The place was very clean and a wonderful bowl of fruit there to great me. Jean was very helpful in providing directions when I requested them. The Guest House is located near Waimea town and handy to go in for the Farmer's market..which I highly recommend. Wonderful stay!

Our stay at Jeanie's was fantastic. She made us feel very welcome from the start and her apartment is superb. Everything and more than we expected was provided. The location is excellent for exploring the north part of the island.

Everything was exactly as described except better. The bed was the most comfortable ever, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. The whole ohana was spic and span. There was complete privacy. The whole place was a bit magical and there were rainbows everywhere I looked, just exactly like in the photo. The kitchenette was thoughtfully stocked and more than adequate for simple meals, breakfast and snacks. The host couldn't be more thoughtful but at the same time a busy person with her own life. The separate entry offers a comfortable autonomy so that you could come and go without feeling you were disturbing anybody.

I had a fantastic stay at Jean's lovely house in Weimea. The studio had everything in it what I needed. Weimea is the perfect place to stay, high up in the mountains, however, you are on the beach in 15 minutes. Jean is a very lovely host. Thank you for everything!!

We enjoyed our stay at Green Flash Guest House. Jeanie has created a very welcoming space, and is an extremely personable host! She provides very comfortable linens, beach towels, and seating indoors and out. She also thoughtfully offers quality coffee beans (delicious!) and an assortment of local fruits and specialty products (honey, bread, etc.). The Guest House is on a rather busy road, but is very private. It is an ideal place to base yourself for exploring the highlights of North and South Kohala.

Mahalo nui loa Aloha Beate

Jean was a wonderful hostess- she was so thoughtful and welcoming. The unit was well-stocked and had everything we needed. Jean was also able to provide helpful advice about area restaurants and activities. We truly loved this vacation and are looking to return.

Jeanie is a lovely host! Warm Aloha welcome and she helped acquaint me with the area. The flash guess house is comfortable cozy space. It has all the basics for feeling at home and is tucked back so you have privacy from the rest of town. The location is just a couple miles from downtown Waimea and sets on the side of town closer to the beach.

When staying at Jeans one can expect the following: a yummy little assortment of food upon arrival, beautiful energy when opening your front door, charming pictures on the walls, a comfortable bed, a view of a garden, lovely light coming in the windows, and most likely the faint sound of laughter coming from Jean and one of her lovely friends. We so enjoyed our time at Jeans, and appreciated that she hosts and runs her air bnb truly with love. Enjoy the hammock on a warm afternoon, and treat her place with love and care, for that is what she gives to you. All the best to you Jean, and maybe see you soon! Laura, Valentin and Esca

We loved staying at the Green Flash Guest House! Jeanie is a gem. She was very accommodating and responsive. The space is nice and cozy and is exactly as it is described in the profile. The kitchenette is perfectly stocked and we were even welcomed with some delicious fruits, locally baked bread, and coffee! Jeanie was extremely helpful with navigating the Big Island and gave us a lot of great recommendations during our stay. It's a short drive to amazing snorkeling spots. There is a great drive you can take north through the mountains above Waimea also. The rainbow in the profile pic is real by the way--we saw rainbows everyday. Just perfect. If we make it back to the big island, we'll stay at the Green Flash again. Thanks Jeanie!

Jeanie was a great host! The in-law apartment was just as described and pictured. It was very clean and comfortable, and overlooks the garden. Jeanie even left us fruit, bread and coffee so we were all set for the next morning despite our later arrival. Definitely looking forward to visiting again!

This place was one of the best Air BnBs in which we have ever stayed. Waimea is a great location for exploring the northern parts of the big island and a wonderful little town. Jean is absolutely lovely. She obviously takes great care of her home and the guest house, and she made us feel like friends more than renters with her many good suggestions, produce gifts, and kind words. The guest house is extremely clean and airy. Substantial kitchen as these guest houses go. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Alex and I spent 2 weeks at the Green Flash Guest House in Waimea for Christmas this year and it was our favourite visit to the Big Island so far... Jean was a superb host; very approachable and friendly and made us feel welcome at all times and ensured our needs were met continually. Jean had fresh fruit, bread and water for the first morning (as we arrived quite late the previous night), fresh sheets and towels at our disposal (bathroom, kitchen and beach) in the guest house which is very comfortable and allowed us the opportunity to eat in or eat out. The Green Flash Guest House is in the perfect location to some of our favourite spots as it is very central and accessible to all of the main highways on the Island. The ambience at and around the Guest House is relaxing and invigorating and promotes rest and relaxation...thank you Jean!!!

Green Flash is the best! Everything we needed to have a fun, adventurous time in Hawaii. Plenty of gear, a perfect location near beaches, town, shopping and restaurants. Though we spent most of our time out and about, we always felt like we were coming home each evening. Jean is an amazing lady. She is helpful with ideas and owies alike and always made us feel welcome. The small cozy Ohana was comfortable and clean, and the garden yard was beautiful. A little traffic noise but otherwise a lovely, safe neighborhood with lots of nice people.

The Green Flash O'hana was perfect. Great launching pad for trips to the beach and anything in Waimea or down east/west. It's got a sweet little kitchen that really works well. And we loved all the Japanese art work. There was a lot of thoughtfulness that went into this O'hana. Jeanie was a really wonderful host and great at communicating with us. It was just a really comfortable studio. We will definitely return. Genie also welcome to us with a delicious loaf of sourdough bread, coffee beans and a big basket of fruit. Can't wait to return.

My son and I arrived and were warmly greeted by Jean. She was such a kind and knowledgable host, we instantly felt at home and were very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the well stocked kitchen and lovely bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and was perfect after a long day working to sleep, relax and watch some TV. The location was perfect being close to shopping in Waimea Town and very close to some beautiful beaches. I highly recommend!

Nice place. Connected to main house but felt very private and comfortable. Had a well stocked usable kitchen which was great. Road noise can be a little loud in the mornings but fine if the windows are closed. Bed is a full which was a bit small for us (husband is very tall) but otherwise was comfortable.

Jean’s Place was a lovely comfortable place to stay. Very private and economical. She is very welcoming. The towels were a bit ruff but all in all I would recommend her place to stay if you want to relax after a busy day on Kona. Pat

Greenflash Ohana was comfortable, beautiful, and conveniently located to all the things we wanted to do on the island. Jean thoughtfully supplied the small kitchenette with snacks and coffee which we were grateful for after our long flight. The place is simple and cosy, and stocked with all the things you might need to make yourself at home: grocery bags, a mini-library of local history, nature and folklore, and lovely garden views from the little dining table. While the traffic on the road was a bit loud in the mornings, it was worth it for us to be so well located near shops, great restaurants, a quick drive to excellent beaches, and close to my friend's town. Waimea is a great little village. Jean was communicative and kind. I'd happily stay here again.

Sweet space, centrally located with access to so many of the Big Island's treasures. Garden outside has an array of plants, flowers and vegetables with beautiful raised beds. Jean's place is neat! I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the space when I arrived, I was expecting it to be smaller. Bed was very comfy for one person, not sure it would be for two people though. There are thoughtful touches, and also lots of brochures and books about the island. The road is closer to the house than I thought, so you can hear the traffic, but hey it's Hawaii... so it's not bad, and it's quiet at night. I liked to be in Waimea, I think it's well situated if like me you like to drive around a lot (I did all the main roads of the island in one week, it was awesome). It's the country and it's beautiful! And there are gorgeous beaches only a short 30 minutes drive away. The town has a few great places to eat (great ramen at noodle club). Jean was very prompt to respond to messages and is super friendly!! Mahalo!!
