My worst Airbnb nightmare came true thanks to Diğdem - she cancelled a couple of HOURS before check-in time, AFTER I had checked out of my previous accommodation, simply because she could. I cannot believe someone would do such a thing. After a lot of research, I had booked her place. We corresponded for a few days and each time she wasn't very friendly but I remained courteous. She asked for a lot of details, including my girlfriend's website info etc., because she didn't seem to trust us. She remained suspicious, writing on Airbnb and (Hidden by Airbnb) in the middle of the night, asking how I managed to get her phone number (apparently she isn't aware that Airbnb shares contact details once the booking is made). She was also very slow with her responses, except when she required a response from us. Her friend was supposed to help with the check in, but she hadn't shared her friend's number even on the day of check-in. Finally fed up, I asked her for her friend's number, since "we cannot wait to get a response from you every time". She then responded telling me to talk politely, to which I basically said "I can say the same to you." And guess what? She immediately cancelled our reservation - because she did not like my response - regardless of the fact that we were a couple of hours from checking in! Diğdem seems to be under the impression that she is doing her guests a favour by letting them stay at her place, but this is not Couchsurfing. I don't understand how she can be so unfriendly to people but expect them to respond in an ever-polite, grateful manner. Absolutely terrible experience!
Jun 27, 2019We have stayed in a lot of Airbnbs and this easily one of the best. It is a gorgeous flat in a great location, and despite being close to everything, is in a quiet street. The flat contains everything you could possibly need. The bed is comfortable and there is also a large lounge/dining room to relax in as well. We have stayed in other places in Istanbul, and we were impressed by the size of the flat and the value for money. We work online so we also really appreciated the fast WiFi and having a space to work. It was easy to communicate with Diğdem and she is a great host. We highly recommend Diğdem’s place and will stay again on our next trip to Istanbul.

Jun 27, 2019this was the best home i've ever reserved on airbnb! i loved digdem's place, I love cihangir, it's my best place in istanbul so far, the home is located in a very nice place with old streets accessable to every thing u want, the home has very vintage stuff and decoration, and we enjoyed the little details, the bed and sofas are very comfortable, digdem is a very generous, nice and responsive host she was answering us all the time, she was very kind and lovely, she made us in love with her place! this place is recommended if ur looking for a turkish vintage musical home and a calm street, i recommend this place and would like to rent it again !
