Space
We have a small herb and vege garden and compost all our scraps. We have rear lane access and bikes are also avail on request. We can also give you free access to the pool across the road, only one person at a time as we have one pass. The doors to the adjoining room were replaced with a wall in Sept 2015 so any noise issues have been addressed (see pics). We also had the place sprayed in Dec 2015 so there are less cockroaches but these are very common in Sydney so you may still see a few :)

Neighborhood Overview
Redfern is great for restaurants and cafes. There are still many housing commission flats and I recommend using Central Station rather than Redfern. Especially at night. We are on the border of Surry Hills. The best side of Redfern.
Notes
We live on a very busy street, it is a great location, super close to the city with a bus stop right out front. This may not be ideal if you are a light sleeper and/or like to sleep in late. The traffic out the front of the house is very noisy during peak hours.
Transit
The bus stop out the front will take you to Circular Quay via the city so you can go to Town Hall or all at the way to the opera house. The train station is very close too so you can easily get to the airport, the blue mountains or visit beaches on the South Coast. China town, Central Park and the CBD/ Hyde Park are within walking distance.
Access
Guests have access to the kitchen/dining room, two bathrooms, the backyard/garden and front porch. The house is kept very clean and the people are super friendly. This is Sydney though so you will see cockroaches, they will not harm you but if they freak you out, you may prefer to stay in a high rise apartment :)

Jun 27, 2019The house is cozy and nice to live in with everything you need. The bedroom is clean and tidy. The host is great and welcoming. No more to ask for this price and it's within walking distance to Central. Definitely the first choice if u ever visit Sydney.
Jun 27, 2019Nice room in big house - many housemates. Unfortunately the bedroom is connected to next room by very large, thin doors with a massive gap underneath - every conversation and sound next door came blasting through. It was as if we were in the same room - could not sleep.
Jun 27, 2019Great place to stay! Very conveniently located within a short walk to the Central train station and Surry Hills. The room was huge and had all the amenities you would need. Very clean bathroom with your own drawer to house your toiletries. Yoco wasn't in town but was easy to communicate with. He had everything set upon my arrival. I would stay here again.

Jun 27, 2019Fantastic little place, awesome location. Room was clean and well appointed, great modern kitchen and beautiful little courtyard out back. Had breakfast under a blue sky around the veggie patch and ferns, really special. Yoco is friendly and efficient at communicating, has a great Eco mantra as well. Thanks!

Jun 27, 2019The house wasn't far from the train station and was easy to find. Our first impressions were very good: clean, calm, modern bathroom and kitchen, ... . There were two bathrooms, one outside and one upstairs, with shelves for our stuff - very handy! The kitchen was large and fully equipped. However, in the 'value for money' department, we did hit some minor bumps. First of all, despite there hadn't been any guests staying in our room the day before our arrival, we found 3 bags of garbage in the corner. Also, our personal shelf in the kitchen cupboard and refrigerator had not been emptied. While these things may be considered the responsibility of the previous guests, we expected the owner to have done at least a quick check. Furthermore, every evening there would be quite alot of creepy crawlers on the kitchen counter and under the appliances. We informed the owner of this and he responded immediately, saying that he would send someone to check it out. Sadly, the bug problem persisted until our departure. Finally, our room and the room of our neighbouring guests were separated by wall-sized collapsable closet doors. This essentially meant that, sound-wise, we simply seemed to share a room and had to be very quiet as to not disturb eachother. While we did have a pleasant first AirBnB experience, we have to admit we had expected a bit more value for money.

Jun 27, 2019The House was mess. Whats written about the noise from neighbours through the door is completely true. Its like sleeping with them. Also, We had a couple of data without toiletpaper in the house. There is rubbish piling up in the kichen along dirty laundry and cockroaches. The Owner was never there fyring our stay, and as someone else was staying in the room he had designated for us, we had to take the next one. Not the end of the World, but frustrating when the owner is not to get a hold of. He did reply, 2 days later. Over all, Good location, not much else.

Jun 27, 2019The house was a perfect place to stay in Sydney. The rooms were all clean and tidy and cleaners came by regularly, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook up some good food (including fresh herbs outside). Robbie made us feel incredibly welcome - just make sure if you stay there you pester him to give you a guided meditation. Well worth it. If we are ever in need of a place to stay in Sydney we will be back.

Jun 27, 2019I had a great stay at Yoco's, it reminds me a lot the movie Auberge Espagnole with mostly europeans roommates. I didn't have the chance to meet everyone because I was very busy but I would definitely stay again at his place. Yoco was also really flexible regarding the check-in time, I was able to drop my luggage early in the morning even though the room wasn't ready yet because an another guest hadn't checked out yet, that was really convenient after a long flight from USA. Also if you're a light sleeper, it can be loud, it's not really well soundproofing. I'm heavy sleeper it didn't disturb me.

Jun 27, 2019I had a fantastic stay at The Yoco House. Big thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome. Communication and check in was easy. The room is large with a comfortable bed, WiFi is good and kitchen is well equipped. I had a car and could park it on the street on the weekend for free. Lots of good cafes and restaurants to explore in the surrounding streets.
Jun 27, 2019Lovely spacious front room in a large house with ample kitchen space and friendly people staying in the house. The noise of the road was easily cancelled out with ear plugs. Very comfortable large bed. The bathroom was obviously well used by people in the house so was occasionally a bit dirty but nothing to complain about for me. Had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend, in particular for solo travellers.

Jun 27, 2019The shared house is located about 10 minutes from the central station and perfect for a city trip. You share the house with 3 other rooms/guests. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and liked how well organized everything was (e.g. Marked shelfs for each room, pin code for front door).

Jun 27, 2019Nice location and really close to central railway station+bus stops. The road to the house gets quiet really early at night. Cute and spacious bedroom with a comfy big bed and air-con. However, I didn't expect so many housemates. Worth paying for the location anyways.
Jun 27, 2019The house is in a really good spot, close to Central station, Surry Hills and Redfern, so there are lots of cafes, bars and things to do nearby. The room is pretty noisy as it sits on a very busy road so probably not ideal for light sleepers.
Jun 27, 2019Located very close to the city. My room was clean and as described. The kitchen was a bit untidy at times, owing to the number of people who use it. The house(especially the red room) can get a bit nosiy due to the traffic on Chalmer st. But overall a highly recommended place.

Jun 27, 2019Maison très bien située pour Sidney (10 mn Central station / 40mn à pied ou 10 mn par train à partir de Central pour aller à Circular quay ) Rapport qualité/prix très bon. La maison est très propre. Bruyant si vous êtes dans la chambre du bas située côté route. C'est un backpaker et non une chambre chez l'habitant.

Les seuls reproches sont que la cuisine et la salle de bain n'étaient pas très propres et que nous n'avons vu personne dans cette maison pendant 4 jours. Décevant par rapport à notre envie de rencontrer des locaux ou autres voyageurs.
Jun 27, 2019Good value place if you don't stay for long and are only there to sleep. As already said, it is more like a small hostel, except there is no staff to take care of things. The yogi thing seems just to be the theme. Dirty or clean-ish depending on fellow guests.

Jun 27, 2019It was an awesome stay at Yoco's place. The location of the house is just fabulous. The house is exactly the way it is described. I got to meet some really nice people during my stay. Although I didn't get chance to meet Yoco in person he was just a call away. Specially when my room door got auto locked, he helped me in every possible way and made sure to call the locksmith and solve the issue. I must recommend this property specially if you are looking to stay around the city.

The location is great, it is close to everything - bus stop is just near the house, the train station is 10 minutes walk, there are a lot of supermarkets and cafes nearby. The house is pretty good as well. We especially enjoy our spacious room with a big desk, a heater and a kettle. It was very comfortable
Jun 27, 2019Yoco's place was roomy, comfortable, in a decent neighborhood and full of other friendly guests you can meet, chat and hang out with! It's a bit far from the downtown area, about a good 30min walk if you don't mind, but thankfully right beside Central Station which can take you everywhere in and around the city.
