Our Prospect Heights place is a lovely one-bedroom apartment located on a beautiful, tree-lined street. It is housed on the top floor of our townhouse,[ two flights up] conveniently located in what is now the center of the cultural hub of Brooklyn. This large sunny apartment is 1000 Sq ft. has a full-sized kitchen that is stocked with pots and cooking items, large living room with dining, a private bathroom, and one queen size bedroom.

Neighborhood Overview
Well-situated, the location offers everything you could want: clothing boutiques, bookstore, Michelin-rated restaurants and bars, organic food markets on nearby Franklin Ave, Washington Ave and Vanderbilt Ave. For culture, we are two train stops to BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) and the newly constructed Barclays Center with performing arts theaters and stadium. We are a five-minute walk to The Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park... just to name a few highlights. It is a perfect location for exploring the best of Brooklyn, within 20 minutes of central Manhattan.
Notes
Infants 2 and under are charged a flat fee of $75 for the duration of your families stay. We provide a high chair, pack and play with sheets, toys, and books. We ask that all traveling party member provide necessary details such as occupation, interest hobbies and clear photos of the face/s of all traveling members. Unregistered guests are not permitted in the house, bringing unregistered guests on premises for ANY reason voids your booking, and you will be asked to depart the premises. Transit
Travel to Manhattan is easily accessible via the 2, 3, 4, and 5 lines, all within a 5 to 7 minute walk from the house. The Q/B line is also nearby. If convenience without the walk is your preference, we are two blocks from the S train, which is a few short train stops for a connection to the A/C line, the 2/3, 3/4 and the Q/B.

We had the most wonderful time at Demi's. It was our first trip to New York and everything was done to make us feel at home (well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, large bedroom, lots of storage...) The apartment is bright, clean and very calm: the perfect spot to relax after long days of walking across town. Prospect Place's location is really convenient to reach Manhattan (about 20 minutes by public transport) and gives the opportunity to discover a really nice neighbourhood in Brooklyn. Demi is a very welcoming host, easy to communicate with, before and during our stay. We would definitely recommend her place and would love to come back there.
Jun 27, 2019Beautiful appartment in Brooklyn in an up and coming neighbourhood with some brilliant bars (the Way Station for Dr Who fans) and restaurants (try the Sunburnt Calf Aussie-Asian resto on Vanderbilt). We had a bit of an issue getting in as the front doorbell was broken but after texting Demi she showed us to our flat which was great. Good kitchen for making breakfast, a place to eat, good stereo and a huge light, bright bedroom). All very clean. Would recommend.

Jun 27, 2019Demi's place was great! The location was very convenient with easy access to multiple subway stops and an easy walk to restaurants, bars, and shops. The apartment had everything we needed. Demi was also very accommodating, as our initial plans were foiled by Hurricane Sandy. She made rebooking a breeze, and she was also gracious enough to let us check in early since there was no one staying the night before, which was a godsend after a redeye flight. I would definitely recommend Demi's place!

Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay here, the apartment was bright, spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed including a well equipped kitchen. The location was great with some good local bars and restaurants as well as mini-supermarkets if you want to cook. Short walk to the subway too which was useful. Demi was very helpful and accommodating; I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Jun 27, 2019Demi´s apartment is a great starting-point for trips to Manhattan and also to discover great Brooklyn. The subway to Manhattan is 5 minutes by feet and on the way, you can visit the great an famous "Tom´s Restaurant", where you can get the best Pancakes and Breakfast in NY. The Apartment is very quit and the large bed is very comfortable. Demi is terribly nice and if you want to undisturbed, you can. The Apartment is completely separated in the 2nd floor.
Jun 27, 2019Demi's apartment is wonderful. Great light, very clean, spacious. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The pictures are a great representation of the space. Demi was a good communicator and getting inside the apartment was an easy process, even though it was a last minute reservation. I didn't need anything from Demi during my stay but I felt she would have been very attentive if I did. Can't say anything bad about the apartment!
Jun 27, 2019Demi's flat is in an old beautiful building in a quiet part of Brooklyn. We very much enjoyed Prospect park 10 min away from the flat and the quietness at night. A different experience of NYC than busy Manhattan ! Still, several subway stations are within walking distance and can take you to Manhattan in 30 min. Lots of nice coffee place or good restaurant are also near-by (Flatbush avenue...). Demi was also a very welcoming host.
Jun 27, 2019I stayed at Demi's place with my boyfriend, and we really enjoyed our stay! The place is really cool, exactly as it looks in the pictures. The subway is a 5 minutes walk away, and there are many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets nearby. You also have Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in the neighborhood. Taking the 2 or 3 subway lines, Manhattan is 20/30 minutes away. Demi was a wonderful host, although we haven't met she left us comfortable enough to ask her for anything we need, Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and do recommend Demi's place if your looking for a nice stay in Brooklyn.
Jun 27, 2019I stayed at Demi's apartment in May '13 with my wife and our adult daughter. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. The apartment is great, as shown on the photos. The double bed is comfortable with good quality linen. Our daughter slept on the living room sofa and found it comfortable too. I was pleasantly surprised by the low level of traffic noise in the bedroom which overlooks the street - although you are staying in the middle of a city, you could still hear the birds singing first thing in the morning. Good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants in the local area. Eastern Parkway / Brooklyn Museum subway station is a 5 minute walk away and from there it takes 20-30 minutes to get to Manhattan on Line 2 or 3. We saw Demi once during our stay, she is friendly and helpful, a great hostess.

Jun 27, 2019I had a great stay at Demi's appartement. I was there for 2 weeks and it was comfortable and convenient. The internet connection was a boon but not always cocnsistant. iIt was very hot whole I was there, a good fan in the living room and an air con in the bedroom which struggled to manage with the heat. All in all a great venue and I would go again.
Jun 27, 2019Demi's rental was excellent and looked just as it does in the pictures. It was a bright, spacious rental in a neighbourhood with a lot of good restaurants, subways, and shopping nearby. Demi was a kind host, informative, and a good communicator--before our visit when we had questions about parking, she actually went over to a nearby parking garage to check out rates for us. I would recommend this rental to my friends and family.

Demi was really responsive and the key exchange was smooth. I would stay here again and recommend to fam/friends.

Jun 27, 2019We loved Demi's Top Floor Apartment. This was our first airbnb experience so I was a little nervous but the apt was exactly as described and Demi was a really great host. She answered all my questions and even let us go into the apt early due to a redeye flight. The place was very comfortable and looks just like the pictures. She has a great eye for decorating. You have the entire top floor so with the windows open, it's a really nice breeze throughout the apartment on warm days. Everything is provided that you may need. Nice kitchen but we didn't use it due to all the great restaurants in the area. The apt is walking distance to Prospect Park which has a fun farmers market on Saturdays, many great restaurants, cafes and bars. It is also an easy walk to a few metro stations and the Brooklyn Museum. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a centrally located comfortable place in Brooklyn.
Jun 27, 2019We spent a couple of days at demi`s home in brooklyn. Such a wonderful place to get a rest after the long and hard days in New York City. The apartment is located in the second floor and was really clean and decorated as the pictures on airbnb displays it. Whenever we had a question or needed a safe bet, we could address oneself to demi. It was our first time booking an apartment at airbnb- but now we wouldn´t choose another way. It really enriched our time in New York and was the right decision. Betting is that we will come back- so we highly recommend demi´s place for a stay in New York. Jun 27, 2019This is the second time I have stayed at this delightful home but the first time that I stayed on the top floor. It was incredible.....spacious, comfortable, well lit, colorful, homey, and warm. Demi was so accommodating to our needs. We came on the red-eye from New Mexico and arrived at 5:30am. Because Demi had a check out the day before, we got to check in early and catch up on a bit of sleep. I look forward to coming back!
Jun 27, 2019We stayed 3 nights at Demis house. It is a beautiful apartement and corresponds to the images. To metro (different station) it is a 10 minute walk, from the station to Manhattan it is a 15 minute drive. Demi itself is very friendly and hospitable. We liked the apartment very much and we can recommend it.
Jun 27, 2019My husband and I enjoyed 9 nights at Demi's lovely, bright and cheery apartment in Brooklyn. We arrived quite late but collecting the key was no problem. The apartment was ideally located to a number of subway lines and handy for local shops, coffee shops and restaurants. We arrived by taxi from the airport but on our return the subway/train trip to Newark only cost us $15 each! It was only 10-15minute walk to apartment from Brooklyn Museum subway, with all our luggage. We had fabulous sunny weather and the apartment made the most of this with a very sunny sitting room kitchen area. It is in a very peaceful area, and we slept soundly each night. The bed was very comfy. Shower was good too. Couldn't find any fault at all. We met Demi a couple of times and she was very obliging and let us leave our luggage for an extra 4 hours after check out time because we had an evening flight. We would be more than happy to stay again in the future!

Jun 27, 2019My wife & I used Demi's apartment for 4 nights whilst visiting friends in Brooklyn. The apartment is on the top floor of Demi's house. It's a great place and we'd highly recommend it. It's pretty quiet (by NY standards!) has plenty of space and is in really nice condition. It's just on the edge of the really nice areas of Prospect Heights & Park Slope with lots of good restaurants, bars, coffee shops nearby. It's also only 20 mins or so from Manhattan, so a nice location for a visit to the city. Demi was friendly, really helpful (with tips for local area) and responsive, arranging for keys to be left in a convenient place for us to collect after a delayed flight from the UK. We were very pleased, and felt that it was much better value and much more spacious than pokey NYC hotel room. We like it that much that we have passed details onto our friends who live locally and often have visitors. Thanks Demi!

Lovely airy, sunny accommodation, great neighbourhood with lots of good restaurants and bars within walking distance (such as Weather Up for cocktails and Mayfield for dinner), the street was very quiet and we slept well. We had everything we needed at the apartment and our host Demi was thoughtful enough to check up on us and provided some nice extra touches such as milk, fruit and bottled water on our arrival. Most definitely recommended.

Jun 27, 2019We have spent 10 days during the period Christmas/New Year in the top floor apartment of Demi. The apartment proved to be fully operational, clean and for us very satisfactory. The positive aspects are that there is much natural light throughout the whole apartment, the large bedroom and overall nice decoration, and the overall atmosphere of the house and of the area in general is rather quiet. The access to the metro station is not more than 15 min by foot.

On the two occasions during our stay that our paths crossed, she was friendly, solicitous, and made us feel welcome. The apartment is well-equipped in a quiet house on a quiet street, convenient to subway and shops.

Great location, subway walking distance, nice restaurants and cafes, the apartment itself is a real gem: clean, confortable, spacious and so quite. Jul 27, 2019Last week we stayed at Demi's Top floor apartment. Knowing the neighbourhood from previous visits (having family living just around the corner from Prospect Place), we felt at home at once. The appartment added certainly to the feeling: beautifuly and colorfully furnished (remnants of the shop Demi once had), wooden floors, comfortable beds and sofa, huge trees on both sides, looking out on a tree-lined street on one side, a big garden at the other side, completely equipped with everything you could need (even a well stocked fridge and cupboard with - fresh - leftovers from former guests), toiletries, etc. etc. And it was spotless on top. It was nice talking to Demi, who leaves her guests at ease. But she is there when you need her and is always helpful. I would certainly recommend the apartment (and neighbourhood) from which you easily can reach Manhattan but also Coney Island. Our suggestions: our longtime favorite is Tom's diner, just around the corner, serving hefty breakfasts and lunches. Unfortunately we didn't visit the botanical garden in Prospect Park, we've heard it's a beautiful place. But we did make a bicycle tour, crossing Manhattan-bridge coming from Brooklyn, following the bicycle-path along the Hudson to the north, very nice.
Jun 27, 2019We loved Demi's beautiful apartment. The apartment is very tastefully furnished and super clean, and exactly as it looks in the photos. It's roomy, certainly larger than a typical one bedder in Manhattan, and has everything travelers would need. Demi was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The apartment is located in a nice neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants within a 2 block radius on Washington, Franklin and Vanderbilt Avenues. (Chavela's on Franklin Avenue which Demi recommended was excellent - great vibe and great food.) Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum of Art are also close by. Jun 27, 2019Demi's Brooklyn apartment is absolutely adorable--a fantastic alternative to overpriced Manhattan hotels. Spacious and serene, the flat is in an ideal location--the best of Brooklyn is either within blocks or a short subway ride away. Getting into the city (Manhattan) is a mere 20-30 minute train ride, as well. After whisking through Times Square for eight days (we were in town for my daughter's dance competition), Demi's home was a welcome (and much needed) retreat. Lastly, the homemade candy our gracious homeowner set out for our arrival was promptly eaten by my dancing daughter; by checkout, Demi had delivered more--an awesome host, awesome home, awesome experience!

Jun 27, 2019Demi had been an awesome host, and we did not have any problems with her. She can be seen tending to her small garden at the back at times, but she does not intrude into your private space. Questions posted thru airbnb were answered promptly. Her apartment was a home away from home for us, and we were awe struck when we first enter. It was beautiful and perfect for 1 couple and a baby. Basic necessities were adequately provided. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe, away from the busy city life, but it was just a 10 min walk to the hip and trendy bars and restaurants. Deli and grocery stores are just around the corners. The shuttle is just down the block and can reach manhattan in 30 min. The only complaint I have is carrying our heavy luggages up 3 flight of narrow stairs. We came looking for an authentic feel of brooklyn life and we got it. We sincerely thank demi for her beautiful home

I highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in a cool, clean, beautifully decorated and laid-out apartment at a reasonable price in Brooklyn. Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Demi's top floor apartment for a week in August and had an ok stay. On the up side, Demi was nice and responsive. The place was spacious, bright and funky as pictured. The neighbourhood was nice and close to a lot of amenities. Getting around was easy. On the less bright side, we found the place wasn't properly cleaned and Demi addressed that by binging in a cleaner a couple of days later. We also found a mouse running on the kitchen counter shortly after we checked in. We informed her right away, and she brought in traps 2 days later. Even though we appreciated that the mouse situation was out of her hands, these were nuisances that affected our stay and resulted in a lot of back and forth with her.
Jun 27, 2019I live in the neighborhood and needed a place for my parents to stay during their visit and we chose this apartment. Demi gave us a friendly welcome and a nice tour of the apartment. The apartment is clean, well furnished, and has good natural light and a nice cross breeze when the windows are open. My parents said that it was quiet at night and that the bed was comfortable. Demi was a great host. It was clear she was available if we needed her, but also gave my folks their space. One point of information, the apartment is a third floor walk-up, so just keep that in mind. It was no problem for me or my parents but one should be prepared for a couple flights of stairs. As someone who lives in this neighborhood, I can say that this is a great location, close to three or four good subway lines, the amazing Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and Museum, and a wide variety of outstanding cafes and restaurants.

It is beautifully furnished and very conveniently located not far from several subway stations, restaurants, cafes, a museum, botanical gardens and other surprises I hadn't expected to find in Brooklyn. A great neighbourhood where we found people very friendly and felt safe returning to the apartment no matter how late/ early it was. Demi is a warm and welcoming host who provided several small touches that made us feel right at home. This was our first time in Brooklyn and Demi recommended interesting things for us to do in the neighbourhood as well as giving us tips about the subway system and local shops. I would definitely stay here again, this is a New York gem.
Jun 27, 2019Demi was so welcoming to us on our arrival and told us all we needed to know about the apartment and the surrounding area. We stayed for labour day weekend and the carnival was so near to the apartment. Demi allowed us to have friends and family over for dinner on two separate occasions and made us feel so relaxed. On the day of checking out, Demi allowed us to store our bags at the apartment before taking the journey to the airport. I would definitely recommend staying at Demi's apartment as we were in such a central location and Demi was a welcoming and warm host. Thank you once again Demi, we hope to have the opportunity to stay again soon.
Jun 27, 2019This apartment is lovely and perfectly decorated. I was definitely inspired to add more color to my own pad. There are lots of nice touches like shampoo and all the pots and bits you need to cook a proper meal. Demi was a great, very responsive host. The location is excellent and near a bunch of tasty restaurants and chill bars. My little family will definitely try to stay here again on our next trip to NY.

Jun 27, 2019Our recent stay at Demi's place was great! Her apartment is roomy and the decor is very nice. Big windows allow lots of natural light as well. Demi greeted us on arrival and took us on a tour which was great. She was very nice and responded to all our questions quickly. The neighborhood was nice, right off of Washington where there are several bars and coffee shops. You will have to walk about 10 min to the subway which is the only thing we didn't like, as we spent a few days in Manhattan. We also took uber when we got lazy. The street though is gorgeous and tree lined! She let us leave our luggage till 3 pm even though check out was noon, which she didn't have to do. Very accommodating.

Jun 27, 2019Very nice apartment and exactly as described. Great location, very close to subways. The stairs are very steep, so I was glad we only had to climb them once each day. Demi accommodated our early arrival and left the keys for us to get in and leave our luggage. We couldn't control the radiator heat, so it was hot one night and cold the next. We would stay here again.

The accommodations were very Brooklynesque—with the the top floor apartment in a townhouse, the Caribbean-inspired décor, and ample space and creature comforts met the needs of my parents. I hope that we might use Demi’s airbnb space for a future trip to Brooklyn.

Jun 27, 2019We enjoyed our stay at Demi's top floor apartment. It is as charmingly decorated and light as portrayed in the pictures. Demi was both available and non-intrusive, provided great fresh granola, and lots of local interest and restaurant information. The neighborhood is in easy walking distance to the Brooklyn Art Museum, Botanical Garden, and subway lines. There are many good restaurant choices in a neighborhood that has some gentrification but still maintains it's local flavor. We definitely want to rent here on our next trip.

Jun 27, 2019Mon conjoint et moi avons passé 9 nuits chez Demi et nous ne regrettons absolument pas notre choix. L'appartement est conforme à la description et aux photos, il est tout proche du métro S, dans un quartier tranquille. Prospect Park est à deux pas, il est très agréable de s'y promener ou d'y faire du patin à glace. Très bonne communication avec Demi avant et pendant le séjour, elle répond toujours rapidement aux mails. Elle ne pouvait pas être là à notre arrivée mais elle nous avait laissé des instructions précises, tout s'est donc déroulé sans souci. La cuisine est bien équipée, nous avons pu prendre nos petits-déjeuners et diners sur place. Une grande penderie dans le couloir permet de ranger toutes ses affaires. On a juste trouvé dommage de ne pouvoir régler soi-même le chauffage. Nous espérons avoir le plaisir de revenir dans cet appartement un jour, un grand merci à Demi !

Jun 27, 2019Demi was friendly and very helpful. The posted photos accurately depicted the comfortable apartment, the bedroom was especially nice. We found the location to be just right for us. We enjoyed walking to the subway and to the restaurants nearby. Heating is a bit temperamental. We would certainly stay there again.

I already knew the neighborhood and love staying there - lots of cafés, restaurants, close to the park and to the Brooklyn Museum. I would definitely love to stay at Demi's again!

It was very clean, and the cupboards even had some food which I hadn't expected.I felt very at home and would definitely come back. Demi was very understanding, flexible, and responsive as a host. I had troubles navigating the reservation page and she worked with me to make sure I got what I needed. The only downside was that there were some issues with the electricity and the internet connection was very slow. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this spot if you have to get work done online, but if you are on vacation, then it's perfect.

This was a lovely surprise Its well located for getting to restaurants, shops and the subway. Its very private and I would recommend staying there.

Jun 27, 2019Demi greeted us at our appointed check-in time. She is courteous and helpful and through the trip was available to answer all of our questions. Demi’s apartment is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The place is bright and airy and located on a quiet tree-filled street. We appreciated the amenities such as large bath towels, ample closet space (with several hangers), nice linens, and a collection of maps and menus. I agree with other guests’ reviews - the bed is comfortable; we slept very well. We enjoyed breakfasts at Porto Viejo and Milk Bar in the neighborhood. Franny’s (approx. 15 minute walk) is a fantastic spot for dinner and wine! Easy walk from the apartment to the Brooklyn Museum and Botanical Garden as well. I highly recommend Demi’s apartment to anyone who seeks a tastefully decorated home away from home and is comfortable walking 5-15 minutes to access delicious restaurants, grocery stores, and subway service.

It is also well situated in a lively neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and a short walk away from major metro lines. We will definitely reach out to Demi again anytime we have out of town visitors.

Jun 27, 2019My daughter and I stayed at Demi's lovely apartment for 4 nights in July while we were visiting New York. I chose it primarily because I appreciated the style and decor, an important thing I consider (along with value) when choosing a place to stay. The apartment delivered on all accounts. It is a top floor apartment, with a walk up a couple flights of steep winding stairs. We arrived amidst a heatwave, and Demi was kind enough to install an air conditioning unit in the bedroom which was most welcomed. The weather cooled the next day and it was barely needed at all. To be clear, this apartment lies in Prospect Heights, a vibrant and diverse neighborhood that lies just north of Prospect Park. It's about a 10-15 min walk to the Brooklyn Museum stop, and a fairly short subway ride to Manhattan from there. The neighborhood is still one in transition, something that does not bother me, but don't expect Park Slope or the West Village. It's still a bit rough around the edges, but I didn't feel unsafe with my daughter at all. We enjoyed the Brooklyn museum and Botanic gardens being so close as well as the quick subway ride to Coney Island. There are myriad great dining options within walking distance along with a couple bodegas that are open late. The lone downside was the deafeningly loud block party our last night, though that was far out of the control of our host. I would gladly recommend Demi's apartment to anyone who wants to truly experience the best Brooklyn has to offer.
Jun 27, 2019Well, I think Airbnb should send Demi a check, because this was our first Airbnb experience. Whereas a sub-optimal experience would have probably given us pause about Airbnb, after this initial experience NO QUESTION we will look to Airbnb again on future trips. Nearly every aspect (namely cost, space, and unit features) of our visit was a huge upgrade over traditional hotels. The apartment is spacious, well, located, and highly functional. Demi was friendly, accommodating, and responsive to txts or emails within an hour. The neighborhood is very nice. All in all, full marks!

However, she has atendency to blame hosts for any issues that arise - she told us that the toilet seat was broken, the seat was dirty, the a/c was too expensive but she refused to take ownership or responsibility for the issues, or even get them fixed. It's also worth nothing that this is on the top floor of a family home so there are pressures from the host around staying quiet.

Kitchen, bathroom and closet well stocked with the essential. Demi was a great host, showed us the ropes on our first day, and gave us our privacy the rest of our stay. Check in & check out were simple. Shes a great communicator, available whenever you have a question. I highly recommend staying here, the neighborhood is quiet and only 7 mins away from the subway station. I will be staying here again.

Everything was in order and she provided a map with suggestions about good places for groceries, restaurants and tips about the neighborhood. Demi's apartment on Prospect Place is situated walking distance to the subway, the Brooklyn Art Museum, and the wonderful Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It is an easy trip into Manhattan, but these days a lot is happening in Brooklyn so it is a perfect place to explore either borough. The street is lined with London Planetrees. We arrived about 3:30pm on a Monday just in time to find an alternate side of the street parking place which was good from Monday 11:30am to Thursday 11:30am; a great savings for us. We lived in lower Manhattan for 38 years, but today a lot of hip stuff is happening in Brooklyn so we loved it. Demi's place was a great discovery we will be back.

Demi is a great and attentive host and the place is just as described, spacious, light and beautiful. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet but still there were loads of restaurants and shops within a walking distance. This was our first Air BnB experience and first trip to New York but it will certainly not be the last. We highly recommend this listing and Demi as a host!

We loved being in a quiet, residential area (that still had stuff going on) and being able to head into Manhattan in around 15 minutes. All in all, highly recommended!

Jun 27, 2019Demi was very responsive to our reservation request . The apartment is in a neighborhood that is accessible to much of Brooklyn and the building itself is a nice older townhouse. The photo could use an update in that the pretty wood floors have been covered with wall to wall carpet in the living room , but the apartment is generally as advertised. The concerns were that the only light in the living room was an overhead ( when I asked how to plug in the table lamp I was told that it was "only decorative" until an electrician creates an outlet) and the heat was not working properly throughout the stay. ( The first night was cold outside and in , and we slept in clothes. After that, the host provided a space heater and the weather warmed so it was not much of an issue. Demi said that a plumber would come after our stay.)

Demi welcomed us on our arrival and made sure that everything was fine. Otherwise we had no contact with her or the opportunity to express our appreciation for her hospitality. We would be happy to stay there again.
Jun 27, 2019Demi met us at the appropriate time and let us in the apartment. It is truly a walk-up but the railings are sturdy. House rules are a little more strict then published, permission for more than two people as visitors must be obtained. Ours was denied. A coffee pot was replaced right away when the apartment one quit. The rooms were nice and clean, minimally set up. The bed is not on a frame. But the most distressing part for me is that there is no fire escape if there would be a incident. The location was good and one can really enjoy Brooklyn and Manhattan from this location.
Jun 27, 2019We staid at Demi's place for 7 nights and it was absolutely cosy and enjoyable. The place is really spacious and equipped with nice furniture, the neighborhood is great. Within a few minutes walking distance or subway ride you'll find everything you need. We only met Demi very briefly during our check-in as we have been wandering throughout the city everyday. But we knew she was available when needed. She also checked up on us after a few days which was very kind. The place is definitely highly recommended.

Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay at Demi's Brownstone In Prospect Heights! Demi was very responsive to all our questions and was incredibly accommodating with our check-in and checkout times. The apartment is located on a beautiful residential and quiet side street and is blocks away from Prospect Park. The 2/3/B/Q and C subway stations are a few blocks away making it very easy to travel around Brooklyn or into Manhattan. The apartment itself is charming, clean, well decorated and equipped with all the necessary amenities. It’s a front-facing apartment so you get lots of natural light and come equipped with a full kitchen. Although we love exploring the city, it was nice to relax at night in the living room or very spacious bedroom (which has a smal TV) Overall, we’d highly recommend Demi's apartment.

The apartment is spacious, has nice furniture and had a good kitchen that we used, mostly for breakfasts, but also for evening snacks and one day for dinner. We could have cooked more if we had wanted to. The bedroom and the bed was great, nice view of the street which was quiet and not disturbing. There was lots of space to hang our clothes or put in drawers. Also nice not to have to bring shampoo, hair dryer or iron. A perfect place to stay if you're in New York. And it is so easy to take the subway to Manhattan.

When we thought we broke her window, she came running up the stairs and fixed it like a champ. The neighborhood was quiet enough to ensure a good night's sleep but had enough people around at night to make it feel safe. Very convenient with all the public transportation options too. I can't say enough good things about her house!
Jun 27, 2019Had a wonderful birthday (and Beyonce!!!) in NYC and it's partly to do with the awesome experience we had at Demi's place. While we weren't able to meet in person, Demi was very communicative making sure we had what we needed and all instructions were super clear for accessing the keys, apt., etc. The place is exactly as described / shown in the photos. Only reason I'm not providing a perfect score is that when we were actually in the apt during the day or winding down at night, the internet was slower than we're used to and the TV had only a few basic channels but this didn't hamper our time obviously as we weren't home that often. I would recommend Demi's place in a heartbeat and when we're in NYC next, we hope to stay there again.
Jun 27, 2019Spent 6 night's at Demi's apartment. It is well-equipped, clean, the bed is comfortable, and we fund it quite spacious for the two of us. It is within a few minutes walk of a couple of different subway stations. We only met Demi once but she provided us with her phone number should we need to contact her about anything. The photograph is slightly misleading because the room it shows is now carpeted not exposed wooden floors but that didn't concern us. There were a couple of things that make it unlikely we would return. The apartment has no air conditioning and although Demi provides a couple of fans, they didn't help a lot, especially at night when trying to sleep. There was an excessive amount of noise on a couple of nights, shouting, screaming, loud music going on until 2am or so. While realizing that we were in a city, this noise was coming from people in the street itself, not from other houses. It was almost like there was a street party going on so maybe we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Pete

The neighbourhood is very easy to navigate and the options for public transport in the area is endless. Demi was regularly in touch to make sure everything was going well and we were happy in the apartment.

The apt. and is very nice, fresh and ultra-clean; quiet neighborhood and very spacious with all necessary items (hair dryer, toaster etc.). We ended up spending most of our stay in the one room with a window unit AC, but would certainly come back in a cooler month!

Conveniently located in a vibrant and central Brooklyn neighborhood, the appartment has all the amenities as advertised and is a confortable place to rest after long hours walking and sightseeing. Demi's attention to details makes for a very pleasent stay and you feel easily in touch with your host. She was very helpful providing in person all the information needed at the time to enter the appartment. She also help us to accommodate check out times with the schedule of our flight back home. Being a new Airbnb user the experience has been overall positive and we enjoyed our stay at Demi's place.
Jun 27, 2019We spent 8 days there and really had a great time. The apartment is really functional and well equipped. The neighborhood is safe and full of convenient grocery stores. You’re also close (10-12min walk) to the main subway lines that will take you anywhere you need.

Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Demi's beautiful home for our 6 year anniversary trip to NYC. Loved that it was far enough away from Manhattan to avoid obnoxiously crowded sidewalks. We were able to spend a lot of time exploring Brooklyn and felt like we got to experience a different side of the typical touristy NYC trip. At the same time, the subway stop was only about half a mile away so we could easily get to Manhattan if we chose (though it takes a little while). The apt was furnished beautifully and was comfortable and spacious. Demi even provided some fantastic homemade granola that I wish I could have taken back on the plane with me! I would recommend this listing.
Jun 27, 2019This great apartment offers a welcome retreat from Manhattan madness. It is located just two blocks, (5 mins) to train which takes you anywhere you need to be. There are also great bars, deli, pharmacy, liquor stores etc, and restaurants in adjoining and parallel streets, that make a lazy night out close to home easy, and this is welcome after beating the feet all day. The two flights of stairs are worth the effort as once the bags are up there, you have light and space, a very decent kitchen and a comfortable bed in a large airy bedroom. The shower has great pressure and the added bonus of the bath was great. I have stayed in fabulous Airbnb apartments in Barcelona and Paris, and now New York is added to the list of wonderful homes away from home. Thank you Demi, for your kind hospitality and unobtrusive support. I know I am going to have to plan way ahead to come stay again as this place will be seriously booked!

The neighborhood is great and there's a lot to do within walking distance. Demi also leaves a delicious jar of granola for guests which we loved! We would definitely stay again.

Demi was a patient and welcoming host, even leaving us homemade granola to enjoy during our stay. The apartment is located in a quiet street near Prospect Park and with several grocery stores and coffeeshops nearby. We really enjoyed the area and would love to stay at Demi's place again.

Jun 27, 2019Demi is a kind and charming host. There is delcious homemade granola waiting for her guests and glass bottles of water and glasses at the bedside. The decor is comfortable and cheerful, a combo of shabby chic and mid century decor. It's an older building with the accompanying charms and issues: great molding and banisters, steep narrow steps, heat hard to control but Demi helped us with that, too. We did have a 20 degree swing in temperature, so I don't imagine that would always be an issue. Lots of closet space. Comfy bed and very pretty bedroom.

Jun 27, 2019My sister and I stayed here while we were in NY for work. It was perfect to come home to after a long day of trekking around in the cold. Our only issue was the heater not working in the bedroom, but fortunately the place came with space heater that kept us warm at night. Our flights were cancelled due to the weather, and Demo graciously offered us an extra night free of charge. She offered before our flight was cancelled! We're so thankful for her generosity, especially because it was my first actual experience with a snow storm. We're from LA and we will always remember the kindness she showed us. Thank you Demi!!!

Jun 27, 2019My girlfriend and I stayed at Demi's for a long weekend in NYC and had a great time. Demi was a fantastic host - she was very communicative before and during our stay and met us in person when we arrived to welcome us and show us around the apartment. We arrived in NYC pretty early, and Demi even coordinated it so we could drop off our bags before checking in. The neighborhood and location are fantastic. We were within walking distance of lots of restaurants, coffee shops, the Brooklyn Museum, and beautiful Prospect Park (really great if you like running.) And we could get into Manhattan in 40 min by metro. Wonderful place, would definitely stay again.

Everything we could ever need was provided and when the temperature kicked up dramatically Demi was quick to install the air conditioning unit in the bedroom which was so appreciated. If you're looking for a relaxing stay in Brooklyn in a great neighborhood with a wonderful and welcoming host please don't hesitate in choosing Demi.
Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Demi's for one week while we explored New York. The flat was exactly as we expected and a wonderful place to relax after a long day. Demi was super responsive leading up to and during our stay and even accommodated our late check in. The flat is reasonably close to the subway so getting to Manhatten was straight forward but there was also tons to do in the surrounding neighbourhood. The only drawback - and it didn't bother us much - is that the bedroom faces onto the street which meant sleeping in was a little difficult when we had the windows open. Fortunately ear plugs solved that minor inconvenience. Overall I highly recommend this cute flat and its super gracious host!

Jun 27, 2019The apartment is located on a very quiet street but right next to a busy area with fun bars and restaurants. There have been some comments about party noise from the street, but I heard none during my stay. Pleasant half mile walk to the subway station along pretty tree-lined streets. Apartment was spotless, cheery and very spacious. "Shabby chic" is a good descriptor, and fits the overall style of this vintage brownstone. We had a heat wave (upwards of 95 degrees) during my stay which was a bit challenging, but the a/c unit kept the bedroom very comfortable. Very walkable to markets, restaurants, shops, Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum. 40 minutes door to door to Museum Mile on Manhattan's upper east side. Demi welcomed me upon arrival, and gave me total privacy after that, which is what I wanted. I suspect she would have been very responsive had I had any questions or needs. I hope to stay here again on future trips.

Jun 27, 2019Spacious, comfortable, well-kept apartment right in the middle of a bustling neighborhood full of restaurants, bars, cafés, and shops. Easy access to Washington, Vanderbilt, and Franklin avenues, but surprisingly quiet at night, which was great for sleeping. AC unit in the bedroom provided plenty of cooling power and was able to keep the rest of the apartment reasonable as well. Check-in and out was a breeze, our host was communicative and responded quickly and efficiently to resolve the single issue we had (a stopped up bathtub), and they provided a handy and informative neighborhood guide, along with homemade granola and fresh-ground coffee on our first morning. Easy access to a variety of subway lines, and a speedy walk to attractions like Barclay's Center, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and Prospect Park. My wife and I, former Brooklyn residents, felt right at home and would recommend this apartment without hesitation to anyone looking for a great location in Crown Heights!

Jun 27, 2019We have just returned from an excellent 5-night stay at Demi's in Brooklyn. Demi's apartment was exactly as advertised but better. We thought there was going to be an air conditioner only in the bedroom, but when we arrived, Demi had brought up an air conditioner for the living room as well. This was very much appreciated because it was a warm week in NYC. Demi greeted us just as planned and immediately grabbed one of our suitcases to help us up the three floors to our apartment. She was warm and welcoming and made us feel comfortable. Help was at hand, but everything was so well set up and accommodating in the apartment that we needed no further assistance during our 5-day stay. The apartment was clean, spacious, light and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. It was super convenient for us as our daughter lives nearby, and we were a 5-10 minute walk from the Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park and the Saturday farmers market at Grand Army Plaza. Restaurants, markets and cafes abound in this lively, diverse neighborhood. We will return! Thanks, Demi.

Jun 27, 2019We were completely happy with our stay. The apartment is spacious, clean, well maintained and highly functional. It has a full kitchen, an eating area, a living room, lots of closet space, a huge bedroom and nice clean bathroom with a tub and a shower. It is on the third floor of the home and completely private. It also has an air conditioner in the bedroom and the living room, in summer it should be comfortable. The living room is on the back side of the building so it is quiet. The houses on the block open to gardens in the rear so it is light and airy in the living room and kitchen. Demi is a gracious hostess and was a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend this place.

However, you are very close via subway to everything in the city. Bed was comfy, kitchen was well-equipped.

Afstand tot metro is 10 min. lopen. Apartement is op 3e verdieping en er is geen lift dus ff flink trappen lopen met je bagage. Demi is een geweldige gastvrouw die je persoonlijk welkom heet en waar je alles aan kunt vragen. Ze heeft het apartement heel smaakvol ingericht, het voelt als thuis. Een echte aanrader!

The space is on the third floor and the floorboards are a little creaky so be mindful of your step! The coffee and homemade granola were thoughtful touches.

We almost felt like we were actually living in Brooklyn, but we were still only a relatively short subway ride away from the hazzle-dazzle of downtown manhattan.

Great communication with Demi plus printed materials in the apartment for area things to do. The furnishings are not over the top but are great for the space. This is a third floor walk up on very creaky stairs and we felt guilty each time we used them but I am sure Demi is used to it. We will be back!

A nice touch for people like me who wake up whenever light enters the room, the bedroom has inside shutters and drapes ! Demi is a wonderful host, discreet but caring. The apartment is located in a very nice brownstone block and you can easily explore Brooklyn and Manhattan from there. I recommend it without hesitation!

Jun 27, 2019Loved our stay here! Demi is a very thoughtful host, who goes out of her way to make the home welcoming (like putting water carafes on the nights stands!). We were on a delayed redeye and she made it easy for us to get in easily while tired in the middle of the night. It’s a quiet but beautiful street and the closest subway stations are a about a 10 minute walk away.

Jun 27, 2019We travelled from Australia and stayed here for three weeks - chosen mainly for its proximity to our resident son. Demi's property was exactly as described - bright, airey and clean. The two main rooms are relatively spacious. The bed was comfortable. Great kitchen facilities - mainly used for breakfast with Demi's Granola. We found some days and nights quite warm and very humid - so the two air conditioners were much appreciated. There are plenty of public transport options to Manhattan, and lots do do closer to home ( "in the neighbourhood") too. Try Prospect Park, Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Museum and Library, even a swim at Brighton Beach - if you have already seen the tourist sites and want to wind down a little. Demi is a warm host, who likes to keep a fairly low profile, but is very responsive to txt or email throughout the stay. We would not hesitate to return and are happy to recommend.
Jun 27, 2019Great central spot to a lot of storefronts, bars & restaurants on Franklin Street in Crown Heights and Prospect Heights. The place is also located walking distance to lot of subway lines making it easy to explore the rest of the city. The apartment is situated on a nice tree-lined street in Brooklyn and Demi is quick to communicate. The space is comfortable, but note is located on the third floor up narrow stairs which can be noisy, so it doesn't feel private if you're trying to keep to yourself. Also, we were asked to turn off our AC one night and the street can get quite loud after dark (even all the way up on the third floor). I definitely recommend staying with Demi - it's a beautiful neighborhood and there's so much to do. Just remember you're staying in someone's home, so it's not as private.
Jun 27, 2019My wife and I chose NYC as our honeymoon destination and we are so happy that we chose Demi’s as our base. What a great location. It provided us with ample opportunities to explore Brooklyn but as well explore Manhattan. Ideally located to 7th Av, we could take the Q into Manhattan anytime we wanted. And it offered us a quick trip to Coney Island for the Friday fireworks. A perfect location for those that want to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Demi was/is a great host. She was very accommodating to our travel needs and even met us with a great smile once we arrived many hours late (flight delays). She gave us our space during our stay but was very quick to respond to any messages I sent. She provides many guidebooks for the city and even suggested many great restaurants in the local area. It was so helpful to us outsiders. As for her place, it was clean, bright, spacious, and quiet. Not much noise from the outside life so we could easily sleep at night. She has all the requirements for dining in with many quality markets close by. Again, a central location. My wife and I even had the chance to run around Prospect Park, which has a great local market on Saturdays. We can’t express enough how great our stay was. We are so thrilled with our choice and Demi’s apartment. Would definitely return if we come back to this area.
Jun 27, 2019The apartment made it the perfect base from which to explore Brooklyn and the rest of New York. Our toddler enjoyed the space and we could relax knowing he was safe in the space provided. The local area has some great play parks too. Demi was an accommodating host and we loved the home made granola we found on arrival. We would definitely stay again.
Jun 27, 2019Spacious and very clean apartment on a quiet residential street. Excellent place for those wanting to explore Brooklyn and with fairly easy access to Manhattan. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Street parking was easy to find although we had to move our vehicle on two mornings to avoid ticketing. Demi was responsive to all of our questions and requests. We were really comfortable during our vacation and would strongly recommend this place to others!

It is a delightful apartment, very clean, nicely decorated, with nice views, and airy ventilation through windows as an alternative to AC. It is also a great location for the Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, area. Both times, I told Demi that our travel connections would make us arrive late. Demi and I agreed that we could check ourselves in using her lockbox procedure without bothering her--but both times she was there to meet us anyway, which was very nice.

The apartment was in an ideal location for us (we have a daughter living nearby) but will also be good value for anyone visiting NYC who is also prepared to walk for a few minutes to the nearest subway. The apartment is very quiet (accepting the usual NYC sounds in the background). It’s a bit of a struggle up the stairs with heavy suitcases but thanks to both Demi and her daughter for help with that. The best thing is that the apartment is both comfortable and spacious for two people. The homemade granola left for breakfast was a nice touch.

Jun 27, 2019Demi’s place was as portrayed. It’s spacious and very clean. It is on the 3rd floor and the stairs are narrow so carrying a Large suitcase was a little difficult. Demi very thoughtfully provide water bottles next to each side of the bed; and a tissue box next to the bed, as well as a loaf of bread and eggs. (There were also several spices and condiments and sufficient pots, pans, dish ware and utensils.) The closets were large with plenty of hangers! She has strict rules about no additional guests (so our daughters did not visit) but that was ok. Her location is close to subway stations and is on a nice residential street with brownstones. I highly recommend!

She went the extra mile to provide water in the bedroom and all of the amenities I expected were available (working and clean shower, bed and linens, fully functioning kitchen, etc.). This space is airy and bright, especially being on the third floor. I thought the stairs would be challenging, but it was no problem at all. It’s also in walking distance to some great restaurants like Cafe Rue Dix (French/Senegalese), Ample Hills Creamery (local ice cream), and Penny House (great for breakfast and coffee) and to the Brooklyn Museum. It’s about a 40 minute ride to midtown/Times Square, but if you’re comfortable being far out from Manhattan, I highly recommend Demi’s space.

Jun 27, 2019Demi's flat was charming and bright and as past reviewers had reported, spotlessly clean. The kitchen was stocked with breakfast basics to which we added a bottle of milk. The bed was comfortable and the linens were soft. Nice to find a good shower and plenty of towels and bathroom details. It's easy to recommend this flat for all the good things. We chose it because it was walking distance to my daughter's house. That was the good news. We did not do well on the 2 flights of stairs. Our images were of our 25-year-old selves. Reality check. Add 50 years to our bodies and we huffed and puffed getting to our accommodations. But we did! and we survived! and had a lovely time in our stay there.
Jun 27, 2019Σε γενικές γραμμές το σπιτι ήταν άνετο και καθαρό , απλά είχαμε πρόβλημα με την θέρμανση και λιγάκι με την καθαριότητα του μπάνιου . Η ντεμι ήταν άμεση στην επικοινωνία και θεωρώ ότι προσπάθησε να μας λύσει τα προβλήματα θέρμανσης . Υπάρχει ένας κανόνας στη λειτουργία του σπιτιού ο οποίος δεν επιτρέπει την επίσκεψη ξένων πέρα από τους ενοικιαστές κάτι που μας δυσκόλεψε τις διακοπές μιας και είχαμε παει μαζί με ένα φιλικό μας ζευγάρι το οποίο δεν μπορούσε να μπει στο σπιτι . Θεωρώ πως ο κανόνας είναι λιγο αυστηρός και σίγουρα αν τον είχαμε προσέξει πριν την κράτηση ίσως να αλλάζαμε γνώμη .

I've stayed around different AirBnb's in Brooklyn and it's tough to find a perfect place but this is it :) Demi was a great host and met us in person when we arrived to help us get settled. The place is on the third floor of a beautiful brownstone in a perfect location if you're looking to explore Brooklyn and have easy access to Manhattan. The place is stylish, well kept, clean, comfy, and quiet (again, hard to find in NYC). The neighborhood is awesome and near all the BK hot spots. Highly highly recommend.

Jun 27, 2019The BEST airbnb we have tested since the beginning ! Demi is an excellent host. Her place is very well-decorated, warm, sunny and peacful. It's very quiet and you can sleep very well and relax. Everything is furnish (soap, towel, hairdryer). The surrouding is so nice with delicious restaurants (mexican food, delicious cupcakes etc...). The access to Manhattan is very easy with differents lines of subways (you can access easily to the center of Manhattan in 15 min). Demi answers very quickly and was so nice.
