The appartment is very nice, 2nd floor, 200 mt from the beach... Harnan is a very nice personat the disposal for any information that you need during my dungeon at home. I was like at home and never fails nothing. Muy buena onda :)
Jun 27, 2019Hernan is a gracious host, pleasant and friendly in the short contact that we had. I arrived very late and he was amenable to receiving me though he had an early start the following morning. I was attending a conference at the Novotel and it was close enough to have a pleasant walk along the beachfront and enjoy the ambience of cafes from several different "countries" such as Greece, Italy, Asia, an eclectic mix. Lovely area on the weekend with a festive spirit. I enjoyed the many touches of RED in the unit and the luxurious growth of indoor plants. It is like home from home, a nice feel of the neighbourhood.

Their place is really close to the beach with plenty of eateries nearby within walkable distance. With convenient public bus access to the metro station. A quiet area which is good for travelers who are looking for some peace.

I was there only a couple of nights, but wish I could have stayed more, lying on the beach and watching planes take off. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely return.

Jun 27, 2019I spent five out of ten days in Sydney staying at Hernan's comfortable apartment at Monterey (which is really within Brighton le Sands). The Apartment : Comfortable size for two bedrooms, bathroom, living/dining area, kitchen and balcony. Hernan is very neat and organised, so that added to the comfort level. The Bedroom : Has a queen-sized bed, bedside table, small wardrobe, chest of drawers, writing desk. More than adequate for a single traveller, though room size may be a little compact for two pax ... but there's always the living room and balcony area to chill in. Transportation : Not a problem because I had a car. Public transport within walking distance. Even if it is not smack in the city area, I have always encouraged travellers to experience the beautiful suburbs of Sydney. Time permitting, travelling by bus (as opposed to trains) will allow you to see a lot more. Surrounds : Nice restaurants/eateries and a couple of large supermarkets are all within easy walking distance. I managed to stock up on some groceries and had a few meals at "home". The lovely beach is just a few minutes' walk away. I would encourage guests who drive to explore other beaches and nooks to get a good feel of the district. Thank you, Hernan, for your warm hospitality and being such a gracious and kind host. I definitely recommend a stay at this apartment.

Jun 27, 2019I've stayed at Hernan's appartment for 5 nights and I can totally recommend his place. Hernan is an easy-going, friendly host who does everything to make your stay as good as possible. The place is clean and the bed is comfortable, which is pretty important to me. The neighbourhood seems to be safe and everything you need is within walking distance. His appartment is also very close to the airport, that's great for people coming to or leaving Sydney by plane.

He was very welcoming and friendly, and helped me making taxi arrangements, and made sure I was up early for my taxi to the airport. His apartment was comfortable and clean. Just up the road is a good place to find something to eat. I didn't have time to check out the nearby beach. The place is close to Sydney airport. A taxi ride during peak hour, from the airport to Hernan's, was around $41. It was significantly cheaper in the early morning, going to the airport.

Within walking distance of train station and all conveniences. We would definitely stay with Hernan again and would recommend his home to anyone travelling to Sydney.

The room was exactly like it´s shown on the pictures and in the description. For everyone who needs a room near the airport when just arrived in Sydney I highly recommend this place. Jun 27, 2019Hernan rocks! Extremely laid back, friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated his help with coordinating my early morning (445am) cab to the airport - this including him setting up the appointment and checking in on me at 4:40am to let me know the cab was outside. Super responsive and I had everything I needed. I will definitely stay with Hernan again if I find myself back in Sydney. The only thing to note is cabs in Sydney are quite expensive and he's probably a $40-50 cab ride away from the city (or so I heard). That said, the bus stop is a short walk away from the house, and I took it several times to the train station and directly into the city. He also provided public transportation maps to make trip planning that much easier! Just can't get over how awesome Hernan is!

He's a super friendly, fun and welcoming guy, going out of his way to help me find the nearest bus and train stations. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and seriously the perfect location! So close to the beach, airport and city. If you're visiting Sydney I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Jun 27, 2019Hernan gave my daughter and myself a real warm welcome accommodating us and our travel arrangements. He gave us space to settle in and make ourselves at home and gave us good directions to the restaurants and beach area which was close to his home. We felt relaxed and rested after our stay and would happily stay with him again. His home is up a few flights of stairs so be prepared for a bit of exercise. Thanks Hernan!!
Jun 27, 2019I enjoyed my stay here, I stayed here to give myself a break from the traveling back and forth from home during my time of my placement at the nearby hospital. There is no negative feedback that I can think of. I didn't see Hernan that much due my early starts and early nights, but in between when I saw him he was really nice. I will defiantly be back if I ever need to stay in the area again.

The accommodation is great : good bed, every room in the apartment is clean, and a useful kitchen. It is good located, we only paid around $25 for taxi transfer from and to airport. Coles is closed as well. We recommend Hernan's accommodation for your stay

Jun 27, 2019Hernan was really welcoming. He was at home only in the evening and we had a short conversation. It was really nice to be able to communicate with Hernan face to face. He makes sure I feel like I'm at home. Clean towels are available for me as he does not want to me to go home with a wet towel. How sweet! :) The only thing i find inconvenient was the stairs to Hernan apartment. Not advisable if you have heavy suitcases with you! But it is totally worth it if you're backpacking!

Jun 27, 2019I stayed 3 nights. he was really nice and always smiled me welcoming. Hernan made me feel free at home. When I was in there, he was busy, but he never forgot me. (he prepared towel, tea and wine for me). And I got the home key from him and could come in and out freely. And the room was exactly comfortable and tidy. The room is near by airport (about 15 min by car). It was perfect accommodation. I strong recommend you to go Hernan's home for your nice travel.
Jun 27, 2019Hernan was a great host making it extra easy to arrange our arrival and departure, and quickly responding to all our requests including how to get there and arrange more transportation. The apartment was exactly as described with very nice decorating surprises (seashells and objects from Chile) that makes its feel unique. The room we stayed in was small but the living room is spacious and full of light with a great kitchen. We did not get to enjoy the apartment so much since we were only one day before a flight, but still had a chance to discover that the neighborhood (a quiet residential place with a nearby beach) had excellent restaurants (some of the best - and cheapest - seafood I had at Ocean's Heart). It takes 10~15mn to walk there along the beach. For us who wanted to stay in a convenient place before heading to the airport, it was perfect.

The location is wonderful with the beachy winds and easy access to bus and train. Being close to the airport helps for new comers. Hernan respects privacy and tidiness and was kind enough to offer any help when needed like a ride to the station in the rain or things like bank, train, buses or eating his delicious food. I would stay again and recommend him as terrific host.
Jun 27, 2019Me&my friend Karen stayed at Hernan's for only 1 day,but it was the funniest Airbnb experience I've ever had!Haha,I won't tell everybody here:)It took 15 min taxi from the airport to his home.(Just want others to know taking taxi during the night costs service fee)Hernan is such a nice host!He allowed us to stay extra half day at his house without paying extra money.And he gave us access to his fridge so that we could have breakfast and fruits.The most unforgetable is the Bontany Bay!The view there was breath-taking and the restaurants are great. Hope we'll visit Sydney again and hang out with Hernan.You have to choose him!

Jun 27, 2019Hernan was a *lifesaver* for my time in Sydney. When my plans fell through, I needed a place to stay in a hurry before leaving super early for the airport. Hernan's place was a 15min taxi ride away and he gave me the number of a local firm. Air bnb's app was causing some issues and Hernan was so patient and kind with my many messages and took the time to really help me. I was sorry I didn't get to meet him personally to thank him, but I really appreciated all he went through to help me book the room. The bed was so comfortable and the room was super spacious and clean. Hernan's place was easy to get to by bus or train, next time I'd love to stay longer, its right next to a beach! Jun 27, 2019Had a really short yet pleasant stay at Hernan's place. I was exhausted coming from a month-long trip, and only stayed a night to catch a connecting flight early the next day. That was probably the best sleep I had all month -- Lol! Got a really warm welcome and they instantly made me feel right at home. Despite my very brief stay, it felt like visiting a friend. Thanks again, guys, really appreciated everything! :)

Jun 27, 2019Hernan gave instructions where to locate the key. He made sure I was inside with no issues. He planned to work late and told me so. Unfortunately we were never able to meet as he came home quite late while I slept. I woke up early to call Uber to get to the Airport. Hernan did send an apology indicating he was sorry not to have been able to meet me. I'm quite sad as I know we would have hit it off and had quite a bit in common. Spice and Culture Foods! The room is wm located for public transport and only a few hundred metres from the Bay and swimming etc. the space is compact but comfortable. A little tragic noise if you're not used but all in all a lovely stay.

Description of property is accurate, internet is quick and connects easily and for the room, what you see is what you get. It's simple but is exactly what you need for a quick stop over between flights.
Jun 27, 2019I had a very pleasant stay with Hernan beginning of August. The room was clean and cozy, fresh sheets and towels were available and also the WiFi worked excellent. It is very convenient that the apartment is so close to the airport. Connections to downtown Sydney are by bus and by train and dont take that long. Nice restaurants are also in walking distance. Can surely recommend this place and I really felt like home :)

Jun 27, 2019Hernan war ein sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Ich kam gegen 8 Uhr morgens bei seiner Wohnung an und da ich einen sehr langen Flug hinter mir hatte war ich etwas verloren. Daraufhin rief ich Ihn kurz an und innerhalb weniger Minuten war alles geklärt und ich lag glücklich und zufrieden im Bett. 10 out of 10 - would stay again!
Jun 27, 2019Room was clean and comfy. Also, it is only 10 mins walk from the beach. It is also close by the airport, convenient if you drive a car. If you wanna take taxi it would be around 25-35 AUD$, depends on the traffic or u can take bus. However, it requires you to transfer, there is no direct bus to go there. Since it is located nearby the main road, it gets pretty noisy at night. Towel and showers amethyst are provided and free wifi ! Hernan is really nice host, he had spare time so he offered me to drive me to the airport! Lovely! :) Overall, I would recommend this place because it is clean, close by the airport n the beach also nice host.

The bed was quite comfortable and the fast Internet made me smile after having recently dealt with the Great Firewall of China. So,if getting a straight shooter host who provides everything he said he would provide and even more appeals to you, Hernan is your guy!

Even though I stayed for only one night, Hernan was a welcoming host, carrying up (and down) my heavy luggage and helped me book a taxi to the airport and also gave me a "wake up" call when the taxi arrived. What can I say? It was a pleasure to have stayed!

He gave me extra towels and duvets also prepared. He gives me the house key was known to use in detail. If you enter it will be be a smile on his home bathroom. The place where he was decorated so beautifully. Heolnan always looked at me with a bright smile was thinking of my safety.
Jun 27, 2019Had a very enjoyable five night stay at Hernan's unit while in Sydney for a seminar. The room, while cosy, was well appointed with a queen sized bed, wardrobe, blinds and a chest of drawers and a desk which I appreciated. The unit also has a light living area and kitchen. As a host Hernan, who is Chilean, was well travelled, friendly and a good conversationist with good local knowledge. Coupled with the location near the beach, good restaurants and a bus to the train station the unit is good value for money. Would stay again.

Despite I was out and about most of the time during my trip in Sydney, Hernan ensured he had provided everything I needed in the room and made me felt safe and comfortable during my stay. Jun 27, 2019Hernan's house is real close to the airport and beach. I have stay there for 1 night with my boy friend and we find the house is very nice looking and clean. Hernan also very kind and help us to book the taxi for next day, we enjoy to chit chat with him and he willing to share information with us. Just a little inconvenient at night because there are noises from the road traffic.

But still, overall I really had a pleasant stay in Hernan's place. The room was very clean and tidy, and he even provided the bus route information on the table in the room (just in case some people might need to refer it). Oh and one thing, his place is just about 10 minutes walk to the Beach. If you want a quiet time at a nice beach with lesser people, you should definitely check out Hernan's place! I would totally recommend his place to my friends (:

Lovely, comfortable room in a great location and Hernan was very helpful with guides to the city. As I was still recovering from Jetlag and sorting out bank accounts and SIM cards etc I needed somewhere nice and relaxing to stay as I settled in and the place was ideal. Hernan is the perfect host and I really appreciated his hospitality!

Jun 27, 2019Didn't get to see Hernan. Overall room and the house is ok and close to everything. Downside saw a cockroach in the shower, found a ball of hair inside the bed, a little noisy from the car passing in front the house because it located on the main road. Overall I would still recommend to others.
Jun 27, 2019Staying at Hernan's was a pleasure. Although only for two nights and due to Australia Day we didn't interact very much, he was very kind and helpful with directions and public transport. He makes you feel at home very quickly. His apartment is very clean and tidy and situated in a great area. Just walk out the street to the beach, lots of shops and places to eat and drink, very close to the airport. At the beach you can see the planes arrive and depart and ships sail into Botany Bay. The only thing one should consider is that his apartment is on the second floor, no elevator, so if you are not travelling light, then you need to be fit. I had a great stay and hope to chat a bit more next time.

Jun 27, 2019The place was a perfect size room about a 15 minute drive from the airport and about 45 minutes to Sydney by train. We had a blast. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The only downside was no air conditioning but there was a fan in the room so we hardly noticed. I can't wait to go back. I would definitely recommend!!

Easy access to bus routes (15-20 min ride to/from the airport via Uber), beautiful views from The Grade Parade (about one block away), plenty of food options AND such an easy going, welcoming and generous host! Altough it was a very short stay (had to leave early in the morning to catch my flight) we had a nice chat and he even gave me some recommendations for my next travellings to Thailand. The room has everything what you need (comfy bed, fan and tv). Good place to stay for the night before going to the airport to save some money on public transport because you can go by bus (3.50 $ instead of about 17$ when coming from the city center by train)

Having towel, extra blankets, television, printed time table for buses in room, brochures for tourist, travel adapter, coffee and tea for our benefits and convenience . Location wise is really easy for Travelling to airport, through and fro. Can't really do much in president avenue area other than having good food and chill at seaside with a bottle of beer. Overall I had my best experience in Sydney thanks to Hernan great hospitality. Hernan place has everything that you need, he have all the knowledge you want to know.

His place is quiet and cozy, just what we needed. The beach nearby is gorgeous and has a couple good restaurants. All in all a great experience for our first day in Australia!
Jun 27, 2019Location was very close to the airport and Hernan was able to provide information on how to get to his home by public transport. Took me only around 30mins by bus. Took me a some time to locate his apartment, might be a bit confusing for the first time. Location was near lots of food choices and the beach is just a 3min walk away. Bed was comfortable but pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. Host was very easy going and gave me my space at the same time was there when you needed some information. Really enjoyed my stay with Hernan! Would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Sydney.
Jun 27, 2019Everything was as expected, nice room, very clean, the whàle flat was clean and tidy, the bed was very good I slept very well. The only thing I would say is about I had troubles to find the key,and the right appartment, I think that no native English speaking people like me needs more details.. For example.. for me the "main entrance" means the entrance facing the street.. Difference of culture? I didn't notice also while bookingthat I'll have 2 floors to climb with my luggage, late night..But Hernan even he wasn't here, helped me a lot by phone, he is a really good host and his flat is simple but very cosy. The price is very good as well. I write this comment from an other AIR BNB host close to the airport like Hernan's home, but I regret to have booked this one (done before Hernan, couldn't cancel). Hernan I miss your flat ! I would definitively recommand Hernan's flat for people wanted to leave SYD early , very close to the International Airport, and The host is very good.

The location is easy walking distance to a lot of nice cafes and restaurants in Brighton, and bus routes to other areas. All up, the room was perfect for my visit.

Hernan was very hospitable and helpful, ready to give advice on transport, etc. Shame it was just one night, Monterey/Brighton is a beautiful place, and I would have really enjoyed staying longer. His home is cozy and a quick walk to the bus line. The neighborhood location is suburban so not many restaurants nearby. The grocery store Cole's is about a 20 min walk along Brighton-Sands beach. The bus/train ride to the city is about 45 mins and this is mentioned on the listing. It is a nice quiet spot and I felt safe in the home and neighborhood after roaming around Sydney all week. Jun 27, 2019This was my first time using Airbnb for lodging. What a great place for a single traveler in Sydney. This flat was clean, quaint and perfect for my travel needs. The beach was very close, about a 5 minute walk. Coffee shops and dining within walking distance. Public transportation was very convenient. While I never got to meet the host, Hernan, his accommodations were great and I would recommend this location to anyone, especially a single traveler. I will definitely return to this location when I return to Sydney.

Jun 27, 2019Hernan was a great host. Firstly he answered all my questions in relation to the accommodation before I booked. He also gave clear and concise instructions of how to access the premises in his absence. The room was very clean and had very close access to the bathroom, full kitchen facilities and a dining area so I was able to make a coffee when I wanted, bring back takeaway oid and eat it ir cook if I wanted to. I was staying as an airport transfer convenience, UBER fare to domestic terminal was $17 and 15min away. It is basic accommodation but clean and practical and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It does involve 2 dlights of stairs which was no problem for me.

Hernan is a great host and he will make you feel very welcome. If I visit Sydney once more,I will definitely pick this place up again for sure. I traveled freely on public transport, but I did not feel any inconvenience. I would like to see you again next time you come to Sydney.

Jun 27, 2019Only stayed overnight. Arrived very late like midnight and had to carry 30kg or more up the stairs. Met Hernan the next morning and he allowed me to keep my luggage stored there for half the day which was great. The street noise was loud but i was exhausted from 22 hrs flying and slept uninterrupted. Hernan is a very nice guy and good communication.
Jun 27, 2019Very close to the airport, so if you've got a flight the next morning it's great. Far from the city center, I took a cab to Surry Hills for about 30 AUD, so not where you wanna stay unless you wanna take buses or cabs everywhere.

The building was very quiet- the apartment was clean and quiet and the room was nice. Hernan was very pleasant and offered tea and coffee and made sure everything was good!

Jun 27, 2019Saying at Hernan's place was great, we spent just one night because we were looking for a place to spend our last night in Sydney before leaving the country so we needed to stay not far from the airport. The apartment is 5 mins walking distance from the bus that takes you in the city. Everything was clean and tidy, communication was excellent, happy to recommend it to anyone :)

Jun 27, 2019A perfect place to stay after a long haul flight. It’s a stones throw away from the airport. Right by the beach 10min walk to bright ole sands. highly recommended. Hernan is a lovely host. If your not used to the heat there’s no air conditioning but it seems frequent on most air bnb in Sydney. Only minor issue.

Jun 27, 2019Is quite OK if you like to hang out by the beach. Buses to the rail station is quite frequent and they may also take you to the airport for less than AUD5 via Mascot... not convenient if you have large suitcases. With Hernan, just ask him if you need anything.

His place is close to both the airport and a cute beach strip, great for a run first thing in the morning. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and I appreciated that he gave me a lot of space and privacy. Wonderfully easy going and accommodating of my late-ish check-in; great host!

Jun 27, 2019A wonderfully convenient place that Hernan has transformed into his own special space. Full marks for a lovely, hot , sparkling clean and spacious shower! Instructions on where to find the keys, where to shop, and how to get around on public transport were clear and accurate. Communication is outstanding. I enjoyed being able to come and go as I pleased but only wish I had stayed longer than one night and/or that my host didn't have to work so hard! I would like to have spent more time chatting and getting to know him but he got home from work so late ... Hernan has a wonderful energy, kind eyes, and a smile that just lights up his face. A gracious host, and definitely someone I would consider as a visitor in my home - perhaps one day on your travels, Hernan! Thank you, again.
Jun 27, 2019Hernan's place is in a good location close to shops and the beach. The apartment is on the 3rd floor so if you have a lot of luggage it's bit awkward to go up and down. Hernan is very efficient with responding to you. Very good value for what it is.
