Im always in contact with the guest and ensure everything is perfect. You have very nice restaurants near and a amazing night life. Just walk around and you will find great places to shop, drink or eat a a reasonable price. Try the Francesinha, drink Oporto wine, and the fresh fish in Matosinhos city. Our hosts Gonçalo and Francisco were very welcoming and the apartment was impeccably clean and cozy, with little snack treats such as fruit, chocolate and tea. It's location is also great. Gonçalo picked us up from the metro station and gave us great tips to explore the city. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto.
Jun 27, 2019Location is excellent. The apartment is on the main drag but it's still quiet because it's a shopping street and the place is on the top floor. Great breakfast locales just outside the place, spacious and well kept apartment with an artsy vibe. Francisco and his brother are great guys who really want their guests to have a good time. Great price for what you get. 5 minutes to the river Douro. Would recommend to anyone!
Jun 27, 2019The apartment was very nice and clean. Location is great, walking distance from the main attractions of Porto. Francisco and his brother are great hosts, they wanted us to have good time and gave us lots of tips for discovering the city. Would definitely stay there again!
Jun 27, 2019Great central location above the shops in pedestrian area. Metro Bolhao is around the corner, so don't bring your car, it's 10 euros extra a day in nearby parking lot. Studio is recently refurbished by Ikea. Owner Francisco and his brother Gonzy are very helpful. Streets can be noisy at nights, you are in centre of town.
Jun 27, 2019The apartment was very central and Francisco very helpful in showing me where the sites where etc. The apartment had everything you would need and was clean. Only issue was it was noisy as there was some sort of young hostel across the way so very noisy until maybe 2 in the morning! I would recommend the apartment, for those that are not light sleepers, as the location is very central and handy for sightseeing
Jun 27, 2019Out trip to Porto was great and mainly because of the nice apartment we lived in! Gonzo, Francisco's brother already picked us up from Bolhao station even on a holiday in Porto. He gave us good recommendations to spend our time in Porto. The apartment is nicely furnished and you have everything from towels, soap, etc. it lies right on a pedestrian shopping street which you can have a view at from the balcony. Thanks again for hosting!

The communication with the hosts and getting the keys was easy - we were also picked up at the metro station when we arrived, even though it was quite late. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and we got great recommendations on what to do. We would stay here again!
Jun 27, 2019My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights this week, and we had an amazing time. When we arrived, francisco's brother Gonzy came to meet us at the metro station and gave us many helpful tips on sights and activities in the city. He was very helpful and easy to reach, very welcoming. Everything in the apartment was exactly like in the pictures, cozy and clean. The apartment was ideally located and we could do everything we wanted by foot. All in all a very nice experience, we would recommend this location to everyone!!
Jun 27, 2019We love love loved staying here and adored Porto. Gonzy met us as arranged and his passion for Porto - and for making sure his guests enjoyed it- shone through. He gave us plenty of great tips through the trip and was so helpful. We really appreciated his help and it made our time in Porto the best experience! The apartment itself it great and comfortable, and with a gorgeous view of the street. Best place we've stayed this trip so far. Highly recommended (if we could give 10 out of 5 we would!).
Jun 27, 2019This apartment is amazing! It is cozy, clean, comfortable, stylishly decorated, and in an excellent location - which is always one of the most important factors for me when traveling. You can walk everywhere in the old city easily. The balcony is a huge bonus! My boyfriend spent sunset having appetizers and wine while people watching. Francisco was super responsive, even while on vacation with his family, and Gonzy - his brother - met us at the metro, showed us the apartment, drew a detailed map of everything we should see in Porto, and then personally led us to an excellent dinner spot and a to a bar to listen to fado. He also took us to an awesome lookout spot so we could see the city view at night. I could not recommend this apartment more highly, and will be looking to stay here when I return to the beautiful city of Porto.

L'appartement est parfaitement situé dans la rue piétonne et commerciale de la ville, il est propre, lumineux et correctement équipé. À recommander les yeux fermés! Muito obrigada!
Jun 27, 2019Tolle kleine Wohnung mitten in Porto. Von dort aus konnten wir die Stadt sehr gut zu Fuß aus erkunden. Franciscos Bruder, Gonzy, hat uns sehr gute Tipps (Restaurants etc.) gegeben. Wir können die Wohnung nur jedem empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

The apartment is so beautiful with decorations and super clean; seriously it was a flawless clean! Gonzy was the one who welcomed us. He was an amazing host. He gave us the best tips for Porto!! All the places, what to do and where to eat. We found the best restaurant from his advice! Highly recommended to stay at this place!

Jun 27, 2019Andrea y yo hemos disfrutado muchísimo de la ciudad y de nuestra casa en Porto por unos días. La descripción del anuncio es fiel a la realidad: apartamento luminoso, cómodo, limpio y acogedor en el que no echamos nada en falta. Berta, la mamá del anfitrión, nos dio la bienvenida y fue agradable con nosotros; después conocimos a Francisco en el check out, que mantuvo el contacto con nosotros a lo largo de la estancia y no dudó en hacernos una recomendación que resultó de muy buen gusto. La situación es bastante céntrica, en una calle peatonal de mucho transito, rodeada de comercios y tiendas de todo tipo, muy cerca del mercado de Bolhao y con muchas facilidades de transporte (aunque se puede ir a pie a cualquier punto de la ciudad). Recomiendo este alojamiento para visitar la ciudad y llevarte la mejor impresión posible.

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was an excellent host and his apartment was as presented in the photos. He was extremely attentive and kind and made lots of helpful suggestions on what we should do in Porto. He also rang the taxi company when we needed to get to collect our hire car. The apartment was suitable for our needs, well lit, on small side but very clean. It's location is excellent for seeing the old city as is only 10 minutes walk to the Ribiera district.
Jun 27, 2019très bon accueil de Gonzy, le frère de Francisco, très sympathique, qui nous a donné beaucoup d'informations pour bien visiter Porto. Joli appartement, lumineux, propre, conforme aux photos, très bien situé dans Porto. Seuls bémols sur l'appartement : il manque de rangements (pas d'armoire ou d'étagère) et est très bruyant car donnant sur une rue commerçante, pavée où des voitures passent (si vous avez le sommeil léger, ça risque de vous gêner ++ !). A noter la réactivité de nos hôtes car le dernier jour en partant, nous avons posé les clés dans la boîte aux lettres mais sans vérifier que la porte de l'immeuble était ouverte, or elle était fermée ! Heureusement, Gonzy est vite arrivé car nous avions notre avion. Bref, très bon séjour à Porto dans cet appartement.

It is also located very conveniently in the city. It is close to subway station Bolhao on subway line which goes directly from airport (25mins approx.) and close to sites you should visit while in Porto.

Jun 27, 2019The apartment is in an excellent location - very easy to get to from the airport via the Metro. My husband and I had a wonderful time in Porto. Francisco was an awesome host. The internet in the building wasn't working, so he went out and bought a temporary solution for us - which showed us that hosting and making sure his guests are comfortable is very important to him. He gave us a map and laid out the city for us, giving us lots of recommendations. Communication was great and he was always quick to help. Our stay at the apartment couldn't have been better! Jun 27, 2019Francisco welcomed us immediately, providing with great information and ideas of where to go. Francisco's place is extremely convenient to the Metro and to walking everywhere. Place was clean and as advertised. We would stay there again. Only downside..would be to have faster internet. But, it was a great place to stay and enjoy a quick stop to Porto.
Jun 27, 2019Logement super bien situé dans l'artère principale piétonne de Porto (vous trouverez pas mieux niveau situation géographique), le logement est conforme à la description; très propre. Nous avons été très bien accueilli; nous sommes arrivés quelques heures plus tôt et Francisco s'est arrangé pour envoyer quelqu'un de sa famille nous accueillir; très bonnes explications de ce qu'il y a à voir, où aller, où c'est cher, des bonnes adresses de resto etc. Vraiment super expérience pour le prix il y a pas mieux.

Wir sind erst sehr spät Abends in Porto angekommen aber das war kein Problem und um kurz nach Mitternacht hat uns Francisco die besten Plätze, das beste Essen und zahlreiche andere Insidertips zu Porto gegeben.

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was a very good host. We arrived quite late from our flight and he arranged someone to check-us in. Very quick answers. The flat is located on Santa Catarina road a few steps from the metro station Bolhao! Which is extremely convenient. There is a beautiful church just at that exit. Everything is accessible by foot in Porto so the flat was ideally located. Flat is ok, a tid bit noisy in the night but nothing too annoying. Good for a weekend stay.

We were all the time in contact with him so if we had questions for example where we could eat the best bacalao con nata he helped us and recommended us very good places! The flat was also very nice the only thing we didnt like was that the flat was a little bit too cold sometimes. But the rest was amazing! The best thing was that we could take the wifi to the streets so we could also contact with our mobilephones someone on the streets! It was very nice!

Il est très pratique même avec un bébé. (Lit parapluie mis à notre disposition). Le quartier est génial pour sillonner facilement à pied le centre historique. Seul bémol: très bruyant les nuits. Le gros plus: Francisco nous donne un boîtier pour avoir une connexion partout où nous allons!

Jun 27, 2019Francisco's appartment is a lovely place to stay in Porto! It is located right in the pedestrian zone and is looking exactly like in the pictures. His brother welcomed us and provided us with a city map in which he marked all the important spots, restaurants and so on. We carried his map all over Porto, it was really great. The studio was clean, cozy and perfect for two people. The nights have been a little noisy but therefor you're staying right in the city center. We can only recommend Francisco's studio and would love to come back!
Jun 27, 2019We LOVED everything about this. Firstly, Francisco was incredible responsive with communications, and he gave us a great tip about where to park out car right near by. We didn't know exactly what time we were going to arrive, but his brother came and met us at short notice. The apartment is in a gorgeous pedestrian street in a wonderful location. His brother (I'm forty I didn't catch his name) is so enthusiastic & proud of Porto, and shared many tips with us. Each and every one was just perfect. We felt that we had real insider knowledge. The rooms are great, bright and clean with a great view. We made breakfast each morning at home - there's a fruit store and bakery near by. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thank you got everything and I really hope to visit your amazing city once again!

Francisco provided us even a baby bed for our 8 months baby which was a very nice surprise, as we didnt expect it to be. there is also pocket wifi router provided that makes your life much easier!!! stongly recommend this place!

Jun 27, 2019We stayed with my friend at Francisco's place for one week. Franciso was very kind and gave us good insider tips, including the visit of the beautiful wineyards at Piñhao. Here the key facts (+ and -) of our stay: + great central location, 3 minutes on foot from metro station, direct connection from OPO Porto aeroport to Bolhao (train E) + Closed to local supermarkets, coffee shops and other commercial shops + top floor + clean and very luminous flat + wifi stick at disposal, practical when internet needed outside + helpful and very kind host Other points to mention: - could be a bit noisy for people with light sleep due to central location and paved street. Furthermore there were some building guys renovating the neighbouring flat starting at 8am (maybe only in July?) - windows blade not really "fixed" and lightcovering. May be an issue if you don't like to be woken up early by the morning light - bedmattress in the bedroom: you feel the steel springs, not comfortable at all. By chance there was the sofa in the living room. Ok for one week if your friend doesn't move too much by night. - toilet paper forgotten at our arrival and cleaning lady came before the agreed leaving time at our departure day. It can happen but it would be good to pay great attention to such essential details. Having this in mind, we still would recommend the flat to other Porto travellers :) Obrigado. Cheers Aurélie
Jun 27, 2019The appartment is great, same as the pictures. Very good location, a short and nice walk to the centre and ribeira. It is small but has everything and is clean. Keep in mind you have to walk 3 stairs though;) Fransisco is very adequate with communication. We absolute recommend!
Jun 27, 2019Notre séjour chez Francisco c'est très bien passé. L'appartement est identique aux photos et la propreté est irréprochable !!! Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillie par son frère qui nous a donné d'excellents conseils pour les visites et la restauration (mention spéciale au "Ô Pepino" pour le poisson frais !) Le boitier qui permet d'avoir le wifi partout avec soi est vraiment très pratique. Une prestation de qualité à recommander !
Jun 27, 2019Francisco er en veldig hyggelig vert, både vennlig og effektiv. Du trenger ikke kjenne byen på forhånd: Han har kart tilgjengelig, og gir deg den info du ønsker. Leiligheten er liten og kompakt, men føles luftig med tre balkong-dører. Ettermiddagssol. Fungerte godt å bo to voksne og to barn. Ligger i fjerde etasje/ 3.dt, i den roligere øvre del av en Portos travleste shopping-gater ( tilsv. Nordre i Trondheim/ Bogstadveien i Oslo). Kort veg til alt. Frokostkaffe: du kan velge mellom 6 steder rett ned på gateplan. Kort vei til matvarebutikker og stort grønnsaksmarked. Perfekt for variert ferie, både by og strand. (For strand: ta feks. buss rute 500 eller lei deg/dere en sykkel). Det er lett å komme til Bolhao med METRO fra flyplassen, kort vei til leiligheten. Temperaturen i slutten av juli: varierte perfekt mellom het midtby-varm til mer luftig, sjøby-sommer. Lett å lufte leiligheten. Vårt inntrykk av de som bor og jobber i Porto: vennlige, løsningsorienterte- og spesielt positive om du har en unge med Porto-fotballtrøye.
Jun 27, 2019We had a good time in this apartment. Francisco was very kind and took all the time to show us the best places in town. The location is good, in a vibrant street with a lot of shops and cafes, next to the metrostation, and only 10 minutes of walking to the city centre.

Directly in the big shopping street and near to nice restaurants. It was very clean. I also like the small balkony. Franciscos brother gave us lots of nice tips and insiders for things to do and good restaurants. I would recommend this flat, especially for couples. Thank you Francisco:)

Francisco provided us with maps of the city and was happy to share tips and recommendations for places to go, things to do and where to eat/drink. The apartment itself is in a fantastic, central location on one of the main streets of Porto, with many shops, restaurants, cafes, mini markets and sights within walking distance. It was well equipped and had everything we needed, including a lovely balcony. We really enjoyed our time in Porto and would happily stay here again if we had the chance! Obrigada!

Clean, provides you basic amenities, is very centrally located (easy to get to by metro- maybe 10 mins), and on a pedestrian only street full of shops and cafes. The location could make for late night noises but I didn't mind. Francisco was the real star of this location. He was friendly and generous, taking the time to map out all the "must sees" during our stay. When he is not our host, Francisco and his brother operate a great mobile coffee van throughout town (and roast their own beans!). Of course we checked it out. We loved the coffee so much we bought a bag!
Jun 27, 2019Perfect location in a perfect area. Perfect to reach because we arrived very late. Everything was like it look like on the photos. We felt a little bit like as we would live there... For 2 it is an absolutely fantastic spot. You have everything what you need in the flat and in front of the door you just walk around and have all the nice places, where you can have a wonderful coffee, Tosta Mista and around the corner the wonderful atmospere of Bolhao Market. On every corner there are a lot of restaurants so you don't have to cook. We enjoyed it very much and would be pleased to come back one day. It was wonderful! Thanks!

En Francisco és una persona amable, flexible, de bon tracte i disposat a donar consells sobre llocs a visitar i llocs on li agrada menjar. La situació és molt bona, en una zona cèntrica i al costat del metro, amb línia directa a l'aeroport. La ciutat ens ha agradat molt i ens hi hem trobat molt bé.
Jun 27, 2019Overall, a pleasant stay. It's a full small apartment with all basic amenities, mint condition, on Porto's main shopping street, close to center. Everything in walking distance and a very nice and safe area. Francisco was very helpful, very communicative and caring to give lots of advice. The flat however could benefit from some care on details, it looks like rather as good for tourists feeling but lacking some intimacy and also practical things which would make it cozier for a weekend visitor.

Jun 27, 2019Très bon séjour à Porto dans ce logement très bien situé ! Juste à côté du métro (accès direct à l'aéroport) et dans une rue animée et commerçante. Accès rapide au vieux Porto. Un grand plus : le hotspot Wifi que l'on peut trimballer partout avec soi. Petit bémol : pas de chauffage dans l'appartement, donc en hiver, prévoyez des vêtements chauds.
Jun 27, 2019Francisco is a very friendly and helpful host, it was easy to communicate with him. Flat is very nice, bright and located close to center of Porto. The only drawback was a construction site in the adjacent building. The works started at 7 AM, so it was impossible to sleep after. If you aren't planning to wake up at 7 in the morning on your vacation (because of jackhammer knocking right in your wall), I would recommend to check with Francisco that construction works are finished

A cama é confortável, excelente colchão. Francisco e o irmão foram muito gentis no check in, e no check out pudemos deixar as malas lá até mais tarde sem qualquer problema.

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was really flexible with the check in / checkout which made the trip more comfortable for us. He bring us some free maps, and showed around the things we could visit or tell us how to reach them. Gave us some really helpful tips, so we could go beyond the touristic-surface and get a different point of view. The apartment is super well located, in the middle of old town/ shopping district, everything is reachable in a 20 minutes walk. The flat was cleaned nicely. Only negative thing is the amount of the hot water, you have to save some to be able to take a shower, although it was march, in the summer it should not be a problem I guess. So all together is a great apartment to rent to get to know Porto and around.
Jun 27, 2019We stayed for two nights in Franciscos AirBnB, the location was perfect, directly located at the biggest shopping street of Porto. Nightlife was just 5 minutes walk, as well as the Waterfront near the River. We found everything in our accomodation we searched for. The furniture as not been very emotional but everything you need is at the right spot! The only thing, we worried about has been a construction site just one house further down the street, on Friday we woke up early because it was a little bit noisy, but on the weekend it was alright! Franciscos brother welcomed us well and gave us some good tipps for visiting Porto :)
Jun 27, 2019Francisco was a nice host though we actually never met him. His brother gave us the keys and had great insider tips for experiencing Porto like a lokal. Unfortunately, there were some issues like a very old mattress which made me feel every spring of it in my back. Most of the time we had cold water and the building next door is being renovated which can be pretty loud. We didn't have any sheets at all so that it was revealed that the blanket wasn't the newest one, either. Altogether, the best part was the friendliness and the location.

Jun 27, 2019Great location, lovely home. We had the best time in Porto and this apartment is the perfect spring board from which to explore the city. It is an easy walk to most places in the city centre and there is also a metro station which is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. This goes directly to the airport and around the city. We had an early check in and met Francisco's brother on arrival, he was so so helpful and gave us some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Fantastic stay and a great Air BnB experience.
Jun 27, 2019We were very pleased with this apartment. The description/pictures fit reality, Francisco was a great host and recommended great places to go and to eat. He greeted us in the apartment and was flexible with check-in times and we were able to arrive earlier and leave later than the typical hours. The apartment itself was ideal for us (my friend and I), with nice and clean rooms and bathroom, a small kitchen, where we prepared breakfast each morning, and was close to everything, so we could come home and rest our legs before heading out again. It was also close to shops, restaurants, cafes, nightlife, the historic district and various other nice sites. Would greatly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Porto. We only had a small issue with the hot water, but notified Francisco and he was helpful and was quickly there to fix it. No problem.

Jun 27, 2019Franscico's place was great, it made our trip that much better staying in the apartment. It's in a perfect location, clean and had lots of personailty. The only problems we had were with the hot water in the shower which was actually cold and also on a weekday building works start quite in the morning. But just prepare yourself for an early start on a weekday and it is more than lovely otherwise!

Jun 27, 2019The apartment is in the center of the old city porto, we walked by foot everywhere took the bus only one time to the other side of town. It's a nice and cozy flat, has a nice balcony which you can see all of rua santa catarina and Francisco is a nice host! The best and most surprising thing is the Wi-Fi which you can take around with you out side the apartment just need the battery to be full and you have a connection all day!

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was a fantastic host! Our flight was delayed resulting in a late arrival at the apartment. Having called Francisco on arrival this was not a problem and Francisco arranged for his brother to meet us and take us through everything at the apartment. His brother detailed all the great things to do in Porto on a map, of which we took great pleasure in ticking off! Thanks for your suggestions. The apartment was situated in a fantastic spot! You will find shops, restaurants, bakeries, cafes and bars within in a short walking distance... literally the moment you walk out of the door. We very much enjoyed Cafe Majestic & Bop, which are only a stone throw away. You can walk to the river within 15 minutes and along the way you'll find lot's of cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions. There is also a taxi pick up/drop off point close to the apartment making it easy to get around if you'd rather not use the metro or buses that are also only 2 mins away from the apartment. Oh and a market selling fresh veg, fruit, cheese, meats and other goodies! I can not express how perfect the apartment was located for us! The apartment suited our needs perfectly and we very rarely spent much time there other than to shower and sleep. We did cook a take on the classic English Breakfast one day and even though the kitchen is small cooking up sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and toast was not an issue. Lot's of pots, pans and cooking utensils available although the kitchen would benefit from the purchase of a toaster in my opinion. The under counter fridge/freezer was large enough to accommodate our requirements having stayed for a week. There is also an iron and ironing board available if you need it. Overall the apartment is fantastic, it's not 5* but certainly works as a superb base for you trip and at the end of the day, holidays or not to be spent indoors! My only additional suggestion would be to provide more towels however I am 100% sure if I had called Francisco to ask for more then he would have been happy to arrange for this. Porto is an absolutely amazing city! The people are extremely friendly and enthusiastic to help tell you about the history and hidden gems within their amazing city! The nightlife is buzzing, loads of cocktail bars (I recommend the Tonic Porto's) and everything else on the cocktail menu haha! There are some distilleries to have Port tasting sessions. You can jump on a very affordable tuk tuk tour around the city, jump on a boat or even a ride on a cable cart. There is a wealth of history within Porto and there are tonnes of historical monuments, churches, chapels and museums to explore. We enjoyed discovering the places that you'll not find as many tourists and although this can mean an 2 hour walk you can hire a bike...
Jun 27, 2019Despite our late arrival, Francisco and his friend gave us a warm welcome at the flat and gave us great tips what to do, where to eat and so on (follow his advice on where to eat fish, it's worth it!). The apartment itself is located in a pedestrian street, super central and within walking distance of everything - we only used the bus to get to the beach which is a little further away from the old town. In the apartment, you'll find everything you need and even a small kitchenette. The only downside for us was the construction site next to the apartment - but well, nothing a host can do about it. All in all, great stay in a super central location for a more than reasonable price - thanks Francisco!
Jun 27, 2019Great flat. the communication with Francisco was very good. It was even possible to drop off our luggage earlier and the leave it in the flat longer on our last day. Only negative thing was that the floor was pretty dirty when we arrived. Lots of dust, dirt and hair from the guest before us. Nevertheless a recommendable flat! :) thanks

Fransisco was easy to communicate with and went out of his way to accomodate us when some renovations were happening next door, by putting us in his other aoccomdatins. Apartment is clean and tidy. It has also all amenities you that you might need. The balcony is a very big plus. The apartment is just a couple of doors from Bolhao metro station and so very central. I highly recommend to stay in this apartment.

Jun 27, 2019A la llegada Francisco nos atendió muy amablemente, nos explicó todo lo que podiamos hacer y visitar en oporto detalladamente. La casa está en la calle comercial de Oporto, buenísima ubicación, tienes todo lo que puedas necesitar (tiendas, supermercado, bares). El casco viejo está a 10 minutos andando. Hay un metro cerca pero no es necesario cogerlo ya que está todo cerca, eso si, podéis cogerlo para ahorraros alguna que otra cuesta. Al poco de llegar a la casa nos dimos cuenta de que el salón y la cocina estaba llena de hormigas (puede que fuesen de las obras que hay al lado del piso). Es cierto, que Francisco resolvió el problema a la mayor brevedad posible, fue muy resolutivo. Al día siguiente las hormigas volvieron a aparecer, esta vez en la habitación.

The apartment needs a little maintenance and there is some construction next door that adds to the noise level during the day, but it is a charming little apartment in a fantastic location! I would love to have a chance to stay here again.

Quelques petits équipements en plus serait parfait mais dans l'ensemble nous n'avons pas été déçus. Et le + : la clé internet que l'on pouvait emmener avec nous pour avoir le wifi partout !

Jun 27, 2019Beautiful apartment in the middle of Porto! It looks exactly like the pictures and you have plenty of space. It's basically located in the middle of a shopping street where you can also find the next metro station. Walking 15-20min you get to Ponte Luís and a lot of nice restaurants next to the water. The communication with Francisco was perfect and he also gave us some insider tips. Only negative aspect is the building site next door - but anyways I would definitely recommend this apartment!

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was a friendly and communicative host, we appreciated him coming to meet us when our flight was delayed and we arrived late. The flat was in a very nice location and generally in ok condition. A little run down (cupboard door missing, broken window blind, stains on the ceiling) which is fine, didn't really affect the experience but worth noting that it does look a little shabbier than the pictures. Unfortunately I must say that the mattress was very very uncomfortable. We are both sound sleepers and have no problem when travelling but this was unbearable to feel the metal springs in the mattress. We moved to the fold out couch from the second night on and this solved it. We are not fussy travellers but would not have managed another night on that bed. ;) And the sound of the construction site has been mentioned before - this is not something that can be changed by the host, but it's worth mentioning that loud meant jackhammer right behind the wall from 8am. Not for the faint hearted or those with small children! ;) For a night or two it's fine as a base to explore from, if you don't mind a couple of compromises.

Jun 27, 2019Francisco was a great host, we arrived a little early and he was able to meet us as soon as we arrived. Francisco gave us great recommendations on what to see and where to go to eat. Apartment is great for 1 or two people staying for a short period of time. Mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable, we ended up sleeping on the futon. Location is on great pedestrian street only with a lot of shopping and cafes. There is construction next door which made things a little noisy, but nothing that effected our sleep.

Only small downside: there was a lot of noise from the street late at night and in the morning there was construction going on next door - it wasn't too bad but maybe something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper!

Beware the rain in Porto as some water could get inside the house then. It also looks like its host made cleaning very long time ago (and answer on my messages just day before the arrival).

Jun 27, 2019Francesco ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber, der uns gleich zu Beginn viele schöne Tipps zu der Stadt gegeben hat. Wir hatten schöne 5 Tage in Porto. In der ersten Nacht war es sehr sehr laut, jedoch waren die folgenden Nächte besser. Das Zuhause ist für zwei Personen groß genug, uns fehlte jedoch Ablagefläche. Ein Kleiderschrank ist nicht vorhanden, genau so wie ein badezimmerschrank. Wir haben für die 4 Nächte 3 Handtücher bekommen. Unserer Meinung etwas wenig. Das wichtigste jedoch, was uns persönlich wirklich einen Tag versaut hat, ist, dass wir unsere Koffer nicht in der Wohnung/ im Haus lassen konnten bei Check-out und uns damit ein ganzer Tag geraubt wurde. Das haben wir bis jetzt bei Airbnb anders erlebt.

Location is really good - just a few steps to the metro station (the line that goes directly to the airport), very close to the shops and restaurants and old city center. Had some problems with shower and WiFi during our stay + there was no hairdryer which should have been mentioned. Hope the host will make some improvements. Anyway, would recommend the flat!

Jun 27, 2019I stayed in this apartment for the whole of July 2018 had a great time in Porto. The apartment is extremely well situated—close to many tourist hotspots but also within easy walking distance of the old city and Ribeira. The stairs up three floors were less of a hassle than I expected and the bed was wide and comfortable. The view out over the largely pedestrianised Rua Santa Caterina is endlessly fascinating and while the noise levels increase towards the end of the week, I did not find this a problem. Being on the edge of the inner city, I was also encouraged to explore the northern arc from Trindade to Campanhã to areas such as Bonfim where relatively few tourists are encountered and real life plays out. The apartment is good value for money, but correspondingly cuts some corners and if at all fussy or fastidious you would be advised to look elsewhere. The facilities are basic and slightly tired. The kitchen facilities are extremely modest. Some basics such as toilet paper and a tea towel were lacking. The wifi was flaky at first but Francisco promptly responded to my pleas for help and the problem was resolved. (Hint—plug the modem directly into the USB socket of your laptop; downloading the NOS app seemed to help also.) Portugal is noted for many achievements and excellences but it is not a world leader in plumbing so expect a few malodourous moments (the incense burning in the stairwell gives you the hint) and some erratic behaviour of the basics. The sink and basin are well behaved but the shower answers to itself—it was usually either cold or scalding hot with little nuance in between. Make the most of good moments here. But it is hard to be too critical of this apartment given its price and location, and I would recommend it for the seasoned single traveller or younger couple seeking clean, basic accommodation.

Trovandosi in zona pedonale, ma comunque a pochi passi da una strada percorribile in auto, ci si immerge subito nell'atmosfera cittadina con la possibilità di raggiungere con pochi passi lo storico caffè Majestic. Francisco si è rivelato un host preciso e disponibile.
Jun 27, 2019The pictures are different than the actual place. The table is replaced by an unstable camping table which was broken. Also a door and toiletpaper were missing and the lamp was not working. We wrote Francisco a message about this so hopefully he will give the place a check so the next guests have a nice stay!

Jun 27, 2019As many reviewers before me have stated, the apartment needs a bit of TLC. The location brings the value up as it is within 10 minutes walking from the main bus station, 30 seconds from the metro with connections to the airport, about 25 minutes walking from Luís II Bridge & the duoro River. There is also multiple cafes on the doorstep and 2 mini-supermarkets about 5 minutes walk away. We chose this apartment as it was a) the same price as a room in Porto but with the comfort of an entire apartment b) the amazing location Would I stay again? No, probably not, unless Francisco listens to the reviews and gives the apartment some updates and provides more basic amenities. We had a fab time in Porto but it was a shame the apartment wasn't the standard we've had across Portugal on our trip. If you chose to stay here then note there is no shampoo, very few kitchen utensils, no mugs, no toaster or microwave and a random array of cupboard "bits" (E.g. Pasta & rice crackers) and the kitchen cloths looked like they'd been used for several months. There is a fan in the bedroom but not much sound insulation from the street below as there is no shutter for the bedroom doors. Francisco was quite slow to reply to messages and did need follow-up messages to get a response, but he was very prompt to check in and seemed a nice guy. He sat down to orientate ourselves with the map and gave some personal suggestions which were great!
Jun 27, 2019The flat was really nice. Its really close to the best parts of the city and directly in the shopping street. His Brother explained us the good things to do in Porto when we arrived. The flat was clean and the kitchen had everything you need. And the bed is really comfortable! Only negative Point: there was mold in the bathroom and in the living room.

Jun 27, 2019Tidy and clean apartment with everything you might need. Good location, however the address on Airbnb does not correspond to the address on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps (which we found very confusing). The host was very hospitable and friendly.
Jun 27, 2019Very nice place! Great location! Chris was adorable and gave us some advice about the city and a warm welcome. Communication was on point! Very reactive! The place was tidy, clean and charming. The bed was comfortable as well. To sum up, we highly recommand it! Neg: The wifi was a bit slow but usable. There was some work construction in the immovable.

Jun 27, 2019Wir haben das Apartment aufgrund der vielen guten Rezensionen von Francisco gebucht - und natürlich aufgrund der hervorragenden Lage. Die Lage war wirklich super, direkt in der zentralen Einkaufsstraße (logischerweise ist es dadurch nachts und morgens relativ laut, geräuschempfindlich darf man nicht sein). Leider war die Wohnung nicht wirklich sauber, es gab Schimmel an der Decke, die Handtücher waren fleckig, der Boden fühlte sich staubig an, die Duscharmaturen waren überaus verkalkt und auch die Ecken im Bad waren nicht geputzt. Zudem stank es extrem im Hausflur - wir wissen nicht, woher dieser Geruch kam, jedoch stank es nach Fekalien. Die Begrüßung war durchwachsen, erst war die Gastgeberin etwas patzig, dann hat sie sich Mühe gegeben und uns nützliche Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt in Porto gegeben und auch einen Portwein zur Begrüßung organisiert. Die Gastgeberin war allerdings nicht die Person, auf die wir uns eingestellt hatten - wir hatten viele Monate im Voraus bei einem Francisco gebucht und kurz vor Ankunft schrieb uns eine Chris, dass sie die neue Gastgeberin ist - Francisco hatte super Airbnb-Bewertungen, Chris leider nicht - und unsere Erfahrung war wie beschrieben nicht gerade schön. Für einen Kurztrip reicht die Wohnung aus, da man den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist und sich die Stadt anschaut. Wohlfühlen kann man sich in der Wohnung unserer Meinung nach aber nicht.

She welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel like at home. She also gave us some great tipps for getting around Porto. All in all, we recommend this place :)

Jun 27, 2019Jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni z pobytu w tym apartamencie - bardzo ładnie i estetycznie urządzony, czyściutki i dobrze zlokalizowany - blisko wszystkich zabytków i atrakcji. Chris okazała się super gospodarzem - nasz lot był opóźniony i dopiero po północy dotarliśmy do apartamentu, a mimo to nie było problemów z odbiorem kluczy. Chris była z nami w ciągłym kontakcie i pomogła nam sprawnie dostać się do mieszkania. Na miejscu czekała na nas miła niespodzianka - pasteis de nata, wino i przesympatyczna kartka powitalna od Chris. Na pewno jeszcze kiedyś tu wrócimy. Dziękujemy! :)

Jun 27, 2019esse apartamento é extremamente bem localizado, fi a a alguns passos da estacao de metro bolhao, nem uma quadra de distancia, tudo perfeito em questão de estrutura, conforto, limpeza, queria mais uma vz agradecer a receptividade sem igual da Cris, sempre disponível p qualquer coisa, proxima vz no Porto c certeza ficarei mais uma vz nesse airbnb, gratidão!!!
Jun 27, 2019L’alloggio è situato al centro di oporto una zona molto felice dove muoversi comodamente anche a piedi ricca di bei negozi e vari locali dove poter consumare ottime colazioni ( sotto casa) e pranzi e cene con ottima scelta di menu la casa è intima calda e accogliente la consiglio veramente ottima l’accoglienza di Chris molto esauriente e affettuosa Grazie per queste bellissime giornate vi aspetto in sardegna

The flat is ideally located on the main high street and within walking distance from many of the most popular attraction points. Furthermore, Chris was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome to the city of Porto and provided some excellent advice on things to do and places to visit!

Jun 27, 2019The location is perfect! Right in the heart of Porto happenings and you can walk to any of the major sights within minutes. We had a hard time locating the address on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps but were able to easily find it once we exited the Bolhao Metro station and walked north up Rua de Santa Catarina. Some of the reviews said the bed was uncomfortable which we found to be untrue! Be prepared for some noise on the street outside, mainly from garbage trucks and street cleaners late at night. The apartment is nicely decorated but could be better cleaned. The building is old and there is not much ventilation, especially in the bathroom. We appreciated the local tips and map we got at check in! Overall, it’s a great Airbnb in a beautiful city.
