- Our biggest concern is that the apartment be clean when you leave, so that it is ready for the people who will be staying after you. - While you're here, please wash your dishes, and clean up after yourself when cooking in the kitchen. Please remove your hair and makeup, etcetera, from the sink and shower when using the bathroom. - Please do not use the towels to wipe off makeup as it often stains, and please, please make sure you always hang them to dry after use so that they do not mildew. - As a reminder, food is not included, but feel free to use the kitchen if you prefer to cook while you're here. The blender is the only "off-limits" item. - If you choose to eat in the living room, please use the black benches, which are easy to clean, rather than the couch. I do not want to have to charge anyone for professional fabric cleaning or reupholstery. - As another reminder, toiletries are not included. If you have left anything at home, and need to borrow something of mine, please ask

Sarah was easy to reach and was very prompt at responding to any questions or concerns we had. My boyfriend and I visited New York for the weekend, so it did the job. The room wasn't set-up when we arrived due to a personal issue she had with an old tenant. However, she got in contact with us in advance and mentioned the problem. The room could've used some dusting and there was a fly problem. My boyfriend and I got back late one night and we had trouble unlocking her door. After so many attempts we decided to give her a call to see if she was at the apartment. We proceeded to call her a few times and she not once picked up. We waited outside of her apartment for several minutes and luckily we found someone kind to open the door for us, only to find Sarah up roaming around the apartment. The location was fairly convenient and the subway was at close proximity. We also had the opportunity to explore Harlem which was something we were looking forward to.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah was a great host, who was receptive to my arrival time and whose communication was excellent. We only crossed paths a couple of times, but in that time she helped make the place feel comfortable and homely. The room was was cosy and clean, and was a great base to explore Harlem and NYC for a few days. The soundproofing to the neighrbours wasn't great (as is the case with so many tenement buildings), but if you're a light sleeper then it's nothing a pair of earplugs won't sort out.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah was very warm and welcoming. The kitchen is big and the bathroom is a good size. Has hardwood floors that are nice and clean Subway is about 2-3 mins walk. Would definitely recommend staying there.
Jun 27, 2019We spent 3 nights at Sarah's flat. Sarah is a wonderful host, we didn't see each other that much but she was careful all time long by text. And she was very nice to let us put our stuff at the flat for the last day till we go to our bus. The bedroom is realy simple: a bed, a table and a chair. It is enough for few days but no much longer. Big advantage : very close to very convenient subway lines, 2-5 minutes by walk.

Jun 27, 2019If you are looking for a quiet and affordable room to stay from where you can visit Manhattan easily, this is the perfect place!! It's super close to the subway and the express lines, so you are in midtown in only 10 minutes! It's REALLY convenient! The room is also very quiet and perfect to have a rest. No street noise and we had no problems with noises from neighbors. Sarah is fantastic and a great host. She is super kind and fun and answers all the messages very fast. She was amazing with our son! Thank you, Sarah for being such a great person! :) We found the room and common area in the apartment to be a little bit dark. But we also spent quite a lot of time in the apartment. If you plan to visit the city, I don't think this should be an issue. The only detail that made that we didn't feel totally at home was Sarah's roommate. Maybe it's just the way she is or maybe she had a couple of bad days, but we had the feeling that we were disturbing her and especially that she wasn't very happy about the presence of our baby boy. That's just a feeling and something very personal and subjective, but still I wanted to mention it. I'm sure, guests who aren't traveling with a baby and who don't spend much time in the apartment won't have this experience at all and in any case her roommate is most of the time out of the house. Again, this is such a convenient place!! It's looks a bit far on the map but it's sooo close to everything! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the city with a small budget.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah went above and beyond to accommodate our late arrival and she was friendly and engaging. Room was was perfect for my me and my wife's stay. Large closet with hangers was also made available for our use. Didn't utilize the kitchen as we didn't spend much time in the apartment. Short walk from 125th and MLK and tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Metro bus and train stops are close as well. Would recommend to anybody looking to spend a few days in Harlem!

La chica era muy dulce y simpática, muy pendiente de todo lo que nos pudiera hacer falta. Está a 5 minutos del metro, muy bien comunicado, hay supermercados y bares cerca. Repetiríamos sin dudarlo!

Her place is conveniently located in a great neighbourhood close to the subway, local restaurants and delis (where we bought probably half a dozen sandwiches in 4 days because they were so tasty). Definitely good value. We would stay again any time!

The location is great -- very brief walk to the subway with lots of express options to get around quickly. The room was clean, comfy, and nicely warm for the winter. Great wifi and bathroom. Flexible check-in and check-out as well! And of course, you really can't beat this price!

Sarah will do her very best to answer you quick and good. We had the most wonderful time there and would book again with her without hesitation.

Sarah is a great host and she help you if you need to. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay there again. And we are very thankful with Sarah for everything.

Jun 27, 2019Sarah was so easy to communicate with and made check in and out easy. The room just has the basics, but we felt very comfortable and safe there. It's right around the corner from the 125th St subway stop, and takes 20 minutes to get to midtown. It's also really close to a fantastic restaurant, the Maison Harlem, which was a delight for a late night dinner. Definitely recommend this apartment for a weekend stay in New York.

Jun 27, 2019Appartement tres bien situé dans Harlem, à quelques minutes du métro (d'une ligne express en plus), on rejoint directement times square en 15 minutes. Il y a des restos et des commerces dans l'avenue à coté. La chambre était comme décrite, très calme, juste un défaut les rideaux de la chambre qui ne couvrent pas toute la fenêtre du coup le jour passe. Sarah était très accueillante malgré notre arrivée très tardive. Je recommande cet appartement et y reviendrai avec plaisir!

Jun 27, 2019Sarah was great, the area was extremely convenient with fast access to the best parts of town. The room was very spacious, simple and clean. Sarah also gave us suggestions when needed but ultimately let us do our own thing with no complaints. Highly recommend if you do feel comfortable with the subways due to easy access less than a block away, if not Uber will be your friend but can get pricy at night so be prepared!
Jun 27, 2019Sarah is very sweet and her place is super convenient! Only 2 blocks?from the subway and bus stop. The neighborhood is safe and the building secure. My daughter and I felt safe coming home late at night. Sarah has great tips on transportation and restaurants. Our experience was really good, but keep in mind it's not a hotel, but like staying with a friend who has a busy busy schedule. I would definitely stay with Sarah again!

We especially liked Maison Harlem just around the corner and had the best quiche there. This location and price is a great value.

Sarah was very accommodating with check-in, check-out and overall communication. It was a convenient location for attending the graduation of a friend from Columbia University. I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to friends.

Very clean, bathroom looked newly updated and memory foam bed was awesome! Sarah is an excellent host, provided everything we needed and more, super responsive and attentive.

Sarah fut une hôtesse attentive et réactive à nos besoins , ce qui est très appréciable ! Effectivement les rideaux étaient trop courts par rapport à la fenêtre et la propreté pas toujours à notre convenance, néanmoins je recommande vivement cet endroit pour visiter New York.

Jun 27, 2019La habitación de Sarah era tal cual se muestra en las fotos, sólo cuenta con una cama y una mesita de noche pequeña. Ella facilita que guardes ropa en un armario del pasillo. Estaría bien disponer de algún mueble más en la habitación en el que dejar las pertenencias. En cuanto a la cocina, nosotros desayunábamos en el apartamento y echamos de menos una mesa en la que poder comer tranquilamente. Disponen de 2 mesitas plegables que llevábamos a la habitación para no molestar, ya que nos comentó que evitáramos hacer ruido porque trabaja de tarde-noche y necesita descansar. En cuanto a la limpieza, en general bien, salvo por el hornillo y el microondas que estaban muy sucios. La ubicación está muy bien; el metro queda a 2 minutos del apartamento e incluye varias de las líneas que pasan por el centro, incluso 2 líneas express que te llevan al centro en 15 minutos. Sarah como anfitriona ha estado bien; por las noches solía preguntarnos cómo habíamos pasado el día, qué habíamos visitado... Se ofreció en varias ocasiones en ayudarnos en cualquier duda que tuviéramos. De hecho nos echó una mano con un percance que tuvimos con una tarjeta de memoria de la cámara de fotos. En general estamos contentos con nuestra estancia. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Jun 27, 2019Communication with Sarah was top notch, any issues we had were quickly taken care of. The place itself was tidy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Be aware that there is no air conditioning in the apartment but Sarah provides fans so you can sleep comfortably. It's a 5 minute walk to the subway which takes you anywhere you need to go and there are a lot of restaurants nearby so you won't go hungry. Highly recommended

Quartiere Harlem molto caratteristico e,per quello che abbiamo Vissuto noi estremamente sicuro. Da consigliare vivamente!

Jul 27, 2019Although I didn't get to meet Sarah in person due a super early check-in arrangement, I thoroughly appreciated her being super accommodating and responsive. Shout out to her lovely roommate, Anna, for letting us into the apartment building when Sarah was unable to. Don't let the location deter you from staying here - it was so easy to get to the subway (less than 10 min walk for us) and really close to Central Park. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit NYC :)

En la parte de la cocina se ven cosas amontonadas el lugar luce desordenado y los olores desagradables en el baño por exceso de Basura en el cesto. Mi esposo y yo no nos sentimos cómodos en general y por lo mismo no lo recomiendo.

Jun 27, 2019Podem reservar sem medo o Apartamento da Sarah, ele é limpo, seguro, a menos de 5min do metrô, tem DELI por todo lado para você tomar aquele café da (Website hidden by Airbnb) uma pequena caminhada você chega na Dollar Tree, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond. Internet wi-fi era boa, toalhas limpas e cheirosas, só tem que lembrar de ter seus produtos de banho e higiene pessoal, tem escrito na descrição, se não tiver comprado ainda, vai na Dollar Tree e faz a festa por lá, tudo por $ 1,00. Sarah é muito simpática e te faz se sentir a vontade, me senti como se estivesse em casa, não tenho do que me queixar. Na minha próxima viagem a NYC, com certeza o Apartamento da Sarah será minha primeira opção.

Jun 27, 2019Everything was fine. Sarah was very friendly and gave all necessary information. The apartment is close to the subway, it doesn't take a lot of time to get to mid- and downtown. The room is clean and quiet. Рекомендую эти аппартаменты, хозяйка очень гостепреимна, энергична и жизнерадостна, близко к метро, хорошее соотношение цена-качество. Jun 27, 2019Como puntos positivos del apartamento: buena ubicación (muy cerca de la parada de metro), habitación espaciosa para dos personas (aunque sin ningún mueble donde poder poner la ropa), y una cama muy cómoda, donde hemos descansado bien que es el objetivo principal para nosotros. La atención de Sarah ha sido correcta, nos recibió a la llegada y nos ha despedido a la hora de irnos. Durante la estancia nos preguntó varias veces si todo estaba bien. Como punto negativo: la limpieza del baño, cuando llegamos el baño no estaba muy limpio y no se limpió en toda la semana que estuvimos.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah was a very nice host. The bedroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The distance to the subway is 4 minutes by foot and the ride to Times Square is only 10 minutes with the express subway. We never felt insecure in the neighborhood so please forget about the Harlem Story’s. These are so 1990. It was my third stay in Harlem and every time was great. The problem is that the walls of the apartment are very thin, so you hear all the noise. Whether the conversations of the neighbours, the barking dog and crying baby of them or if someone in the apartment turns on the stove or is making any other noise. Since Sarah works in the evening and comes home late at night, you really hear every step when she prepares something to eat then. We bought ear plugs, so it was okay. We therefore really recommend that anyone who does not sleep like a stone should take ear plugs. We were around Helloween and Sarah had a very tight schedule so we barely saw her. It was absolutely no problem for us because we like being independent. Unfortunately, you also saw the absence in the cleanliness of the bathroom and the kitchen. There are dust and dirt in the corners. I do not want to say that it was absolutely bad, but it was not really clean either. The fact that Sarah works at night you should be very considerate in the morning, so it is better to get the breakfast away from home, otherwise she will notice everything and her sleep will be interrupted and since you are good guests you don‘t want that to happen ;-) You have to live out of the suitcase. It would be great to have a little rack or closet in the room to store the luggage. Also a small mirror on the wall would be perfect, so one could get ready in the bathroom and the other in the bedroom. But these are only little suggestions no real big problems. Considering the price for a New York accommodation, I'd like to point out that you can not expect a 5 star hotel but a solid place to stay if you're in NYC all day. Therefore the following points: Price: 5 out of 5 points Cleanliness: 2,5 out of 5 points Noise: 1,5 out of 5 points Host: 4 out of 5 points Neighborhood: 4,5 out of 5 points Equipment: 2,5 out of 5 points Total: 3,5 out of 5 points

Jun 27, 2019L'appartement est parfaitement situé à Harlem. Proche de toutes les commodités. (Shopping, Subway express, épicerie, bus aéroport LaGuardia) Je recommande ! Sarah est réactive, sympa et toujours disponible. Elle se soucie vraiment de ses voyageurs pour qu'ils passent un bon séjour.
Jun 27, 2019We stayed for 12 days at Sarah’s place, communication was okay as Sarah always messages us for her concerns and at the same way we could ask her questions too. The room is exactly as pictured, so if you are visiting NY for less than 3 days, i guess its not that hard to open ur suitcase each morning. For convenience we would recommend installing at least a mirror and a small cabinet in the room for future guests. The walls between the apartments are thin but this wasn’t an issue for us. All in all Harlem was a positive experience, we can vouch for the safety even at night.

Jun 27, 2019My teenage daughter and I had a great stay at Sarah's place. Everything is as she listed, our room was spacious and comfortable, the apartment was great. Sarah was a great host, very helpful with tips on how to get around the city, ( (Hidden by Airbnb) maps was our BFF), and advice on great attractions and experiences. She reassured us her neighborhood was very safe, many nights we walked from the subway to the apartment at midnight and later and had no incidents or concerns. The people around the city were very kind and helpful, especially with directions and subway info. We had an amazing trip and we are so thankful to Sarah for allowing us to stay with her in this amazing city.

Jun 27, 2019Localização ótima, muito perto do metro, deve dar cerca de 3min a pé até a entrada da estação (a qual tem trens expressos), em 10min está na times. Há lojas boas próximas (Website hidden by Airbnb) relação à segurança, MUITO tranquilo, não é um bairro de alto padrão, mas em nenhum momento nos sentimos em rico. Encontramos poucas vezes a Sarah em seu apartamento e sempre foi muito receptiva, assim como Danish seu "Housemate". Quarto aquecido e espaçoso. Recomendo
Jun 27, 2019Sarah's apartment was decent, but she had way too many rules. She was micro monitoring us, which was annoying. And it was really inconvenient to share the bathroom with a guy, she had informed us that she was the only other person living in the apartment and she works late in the evening. We had to wait around for each other to finish using the bathroom. Wish she a had mirror in the room, so we could get ready in our room itself. Wifi in the room was terrible. The apartment walls are really thin, one night we were just siting and talking, for which she said she received a noise complain. So, we had to whisper and tip-toe around the place the whole time. Decent apartment, safe neighborhood, very close to the subway station, but wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to have a nice time.

Jun 27, 2019Photo conforme à la description, lieu du logement très proche des transports + des boutiques d'Harlem ce que nous pouvons reprocher est l'isolation sonore ( voisin, ) ainsi qu'un lit très dur Une armoire ou commode serai appréciable dans la chambre car pas facile de vivre pendant 10j avec une valise ( serai un plus pour le confort ) Merci à Sarah pour son accueil

Jun 27, 2019Sarah heeft een leuk appartement in Harlem. Het is schoon, netjes en de slaapkamer is groot genoeg voor twee personen. Het appartement ligt dichtbij metro en bussen. Central Park is op loopafstand te bereiken. Daarnaast is Sarah een perfecte host die zich om haar gasten bekommert. Al met al een fijn verblijf!

I needed to rest for 1 night before meeting a tech client the next day and she responded quickly and let me settle in and sleep undisturbed. The entire experience was Exemplary of good accommodations. We talked only briefly but she is very nice. Her place is right around the corner from the train. Perfection.

Jun 27, 2019Sarah is a great and very helpful host. The room itself is smaller but sufficient, it is also private as it is located in the middle of a long hall in the apartment. Close to the apartment you can find many shops, restaurants, also subway station is really close. The Central Park is in walking distance as well. All in all, it was a great and pleasurable stay, I can definitely recommend.
Jun 27, 2019We had a fantastic stay at Sarah's!! The location was great. The apartment was on a safe, quiet street but only a short walk away was the lively, historic and interesting parts of Harlem. Great proximity to public transport (and onto downtown Manhatten). The apartment was clean and comfortable. We arrived to Harlem at 3.30pm and check in was at 6.45pm, so you might need to organise luggage storage. We couldn't find anywhere close by when we looked online, but we found a friendly street fruit vendor who minded them for us while we walked around. Communication with Sarah was great and she was very helpful with tips on getting around/recommendations. Many thanks Sarah!

Jun 27, 2019The room itself is bigger than it looks in the pictures. There is a full-length mirror in the room (earlier reviews suggested this). The neighborhood is great. I had a nice, quiet night and it was great to be able to sleep with an open window.

Jun 27, 2019Sarah's place was perfectly located, getting around on foot or subway was simple and convenient. I appreciated the safe environment and a clean, quiet place where I could get all the rest I need and want. Timely communication was much appreciated and all the fine details provided regarding resources (like a handy umbrella) and getting around the space made settling smoother than usual. Meeting the roommate was a bonus moment and the hospitality extended to me was appreciated given the schedule and weather I experienced. Would recommend and return again!
Jun 27, 2019The place is clean, the bedroom is spacious enough to dispose of your luggage with the strict minimum of equipment (bed, nighstand and a chair) and the location is good : at 5min from the subway wich is at 20min from Time Square, we didn’t ask for more. I would just suggest to put a plank of wood on the bedhead to avoid the building opposite to have a view on your room like they have now. Sarah is a joyful person and it’s visible that she wants you to enjoy your stay, but you have to follow the rules, so many rules. In fact, they are not really constraining at least for someone who just wants a place to sleep (which was our case), but when you receive a message at 2am to remind you to put down the toilet seat, or, more serious, when you wait 30min outside in the rain because « the check-in was at 12, not 11:30 » while she was at home, it put some stress on your nerves. We understand that she might not have been ready, but we were here in advance, not by choice, but because of the rain, she could have proposed to wait in the hall for example. I’m not saying that Sarah isn’t a good host, she is kind and you quickly understand that she wants you to have a great stay, but she forgets that for most, you are in a city you don’t know and even if you want to be faultless, you won’t always be. In short I would recommend this place, but remember that you’re an extra and must not be noisy.

Jun 27, 2019Good location with easy links to the city, just make sure you get the right subway stop since there are several 125st stops and only one is the right one! (ABCD stop on blue/orange lines) We had plenty of contact with Sarah who gave us loads of information, the room is a good size and the bathroom and kitchen are great. Had a good stay!

Jun 27, 2019Sarah's place was great! It was right next to a subway stop, and only a 20 minute subway ride from downtown Manhattan and all of the typical touristy things in NYC! Her place is very clean, and the bed is really comfy! Sarah is sweet and friendly, and gave us chocolates when we came in! All in all, a great stay in a beautiful and clean space in NYC.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great experience on this flat. Sarah and her roommate were really friendly and helpful. The flat is 3min away from the subway and has two lines that allow you to reach almost all manhattan by subway. Common spaces at the apartment were really clean and organized. I would definetely recommend it.

It is also very easy to get to the subway station from her place and we found several great spots to get meals easily. We would definitely recommend this spot if you need a nice place to rest.
Jun 27, 2019Sarah was very accommodating to me and my friend. We arrived very late in the evening and she was able to make arrangements for us to pick up the apartment keys even if she wasn’t home. She was also very communicative and made sure everything was okay during our stay. The metro station was really close to her apartment and made it really convenient for us when traveling. I highly recommend her place for anyone looking to stay in NY!
Jun 27, 2019It's a nice little place, very close to the subway station. The only issue was a noisy neighbor, but that's not Sarah's fault though. She also allowed us a late check-out, which was extremely helpful.

Jun 27, 2019Sarah's place is great! It's full of paintings and art literally everywhere, I really liked that. The apartment is just as described, and it is actually better than how it looks on pictures. Except maybe for the bedroom, the bed might not be big enough for two very tall people, but I personally had no issues at all. Sarah's rules are clear and respectable, she is great with communications as well and always answered very quickly! Her roommate was very nice and respectful as well. I definitely recommend this place.

The apartment looks cool, the room had exactly what I needed to be comfortable for such a long stay, and it's about a 3 minute walk to a bigger train station. Sarah was very good about responding to my questions, a fun person to talk to, and an overall great host. I highly recommend staying here!
