This is a family-friendly home where we want all of our guests, with and without children, to feel comfortable. 1. For liability reasons, guests may not bring any visitors or any others to my home at any time, for any length of time. Only those individuals who are registered guests, whose full names have been provided in advance and who have been paid for in advance, may enter the premises. No other individuals may be on our property. 2. In the case of significant violation of house rules, the reservation will be immediately terminated and all fees and monies paid will be forfeited. 3. Please watch your language as there are children present. No swearing. 4. Keep your belongings to your designated room. 5. Quiet time between 10 pm and 7 am. 6. Keep to your designated private area and designated common areas. Entry into the owner's bedrooms is forbidden. 7. Clean up your messes in the common areas immediately. 8. We were the first guest for staying in sunrise oasis. Absolutely wonderful. The family was super friendly and the huge room very comfortable. We felt very welcome and like at home all along hour stay. Thanks Pauline, Ted and Keo for you kindness. Jun 27, 2019In our transition to the Big Island this Airbnb was the Key. Pauline Ted and Keo are hosts that make your travels seem effortless and enjoyable. If your passing through or require a longer term this locations is central and ideal. Our two young boys ages 2 and 3 felt at home in minutes with a warm Island Welcome! Not an easy task with children =) The accommodations are very modern, clean, and well kept. We personally enjoyed the Sunrise Oasis I with private bath, living area, extra bunk beds. Our boys loved the huge grassy back yard to run around in! The home is large enough to share but feels private with ample space to escape! This home is a paradise and the people like family. Thank you Guys

Jun 27, 2019In English and Spanish, Ted, Pauline and Keo made us feel welcome from the beginning, they are a very nice family. Everything lived up to our expectations. Very spacious room with lots of windows. The house is located in an area away from traffic, which I liked. I kept telling them that I slept like an angel every night, very comfortable beds and specially love to hear the sound of rain and small animals from outside. I also liked that we had our own bathroom. It was very nice to have a fresh cup of coffee every morning which our host made. We were just a few miles from Hilo, but near by were other food shops and gas station. They offered us space in their refrigerator and pantry for our food. We were able to wash and dry our clothes. The best of our stay was too when our host took us to see the burning lava coming down the mountain, it was a long hike but is was worth every step, this experience will be one that my daughter will always remember. You leave that house with a feeling that you are part of their family. I have to say that they were also very informative about suggesting what to see , where to go or which routes were best to take. Todo estava a la altura de nuestras expectativas. La habitación era muy amplia con muchas ventanas. La casa está situada en una zona alejada del tráfico, lo que me gustó mucho. Cada día yo les decía que dormía como un ángel todas las noches, porque la cama era muy cómoda y especialmente durante la noche me encantaba escuchar el sonido de la lluvia y el ruido de los animales pequeños de afuera. También me gustó que teníamos nuestro propio baño. Me gustó disfrutar café fresco que Ted nos preparó cada mañana. Estábamos a unas pocas millas de Hilo, pero más cerca había otras tiendas de alimentos y gasolinera. Nos ofrecieron espacio en su refrigerador y la despensa para nuestra alimentos. Pudimos lavar y secar la ropa sin problema. Cuando nos despedimos, fué como decir adiós a familia. Lo mejor de nuestra estancia fue cuando nuestro anfitrión se ofreció a llevarnos a ver la lava ardiente, que eventualmente llegará al mar, fué una larga caminata, pero cada paso que tomamos valió la pena, ésta experiencia será una que mi hija siempre recordará. Jun 27, 2019The most fantastic thing is: Ted is an expert of volcano adventure! You have to talk with Ted about how to discover Lava... Which's my unforgettable memory in my lifetime. Also Ted told us some great places that only local knows... Much more beautiful than some traveler places! And, Ted and Pauline's house is so nice and clean and in a super location - quiet but convenient to everywhere from Volcano to east coast to Maunakea! I like the room. It's so big and bright. It also has a nice private bathroom, not too big but very clean. You could also use Ted's kitchen, and he even invite us try his tea and some fruits from his backyard. Anyway, I'd recommend here to everyone if you want to travel in Big Island.

Vi nød vores ophold rigtig meget og havde nogle gode dage hos familien. Placeringen er perfekt i forhold til at besøge the volcano park. Skal du til the Big Island er dette område også et must see!! Pauline, Ted og Keo is the greatest hosts. They where very helpfull with ideas to sightseeing. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recomend the place. The location is perfect if you wanna visit the volcano park. The room was nice and clean!!
Jun 27, 2019Could not have been better hosts. Fabulous people who go the extra mile to make visitors welcome. Ted & Pauline are former Californians who know how to treat people well and communicate easily. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with them. Their fluffy cat & happy dog make friends with their guests. Space is good, parking is easy. Ted shows where to go and what to see on a very large screen in living room. Very glad to have met them and would return again. Hilo is a quiet, peaceful town with lots to do and see away from the bustle of Honolulu.

Auch die Lage war ideal, da man nur ein paar Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt ist. Die Buchung bei Airbnb war ein Volltreffer und ist auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

Jun 27, 2019Ted a Pauline byli vynikající hostitelé. Moc nám pomohli s plánováním programu i při telefonickém zajišťování aktivit. Jsou velmi přátelští a milí. Prostorný pokoj, krytá terasa a dobře vybsvená kuchyň plně vyhovovala potřebám čtyř lidí. Ted and Pauline was very friendly and they help us very much. Large room and large lanei suits perfect for 4 persons.
Jun 27, 2019I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. The hosts are wonderful people. The house is on a big plot of land and had clean big room. The beds are big and nice. They have a beautiful porch/lanai which is a perfect place to hangout. Ted gave us some good advice on which places to see. Overall a perfect place to stay.

Jun 27, 2019It was a great place to stay. The room is very big compared to a hotel room. We got some great tips and advice from Ted and Pauline. They mentioned some places that weren't in the guide book that were great to go. Would stay here again for sure! Great hosts !
Jun 27, 2019Ted and Pauline are very friendly and helpful and beautiful people. This is a home with a lot of love. Two other bedrooms are available and it was really pleasant to chat to the other travellers. Our room was extremely spacious with a comfortable seating area and a private bathroom. Ted made beautiful hot coffee for us each morning. We could use space in the fridge and the cupboard for our food and we were welcome to cook although we were on the run the whole time and didn't need to. There is a very lovely cat and dog who are mostly outside and completely no issue. The directions are perfect and the photos are a very good depiction of the reality. There's plenty of room to park the car. I was able to wash some clothes in the washing machine. As it's a humid climate things can take a while to dry if you hang them on the rack inside or the lines outside. Ted always replied very promptly to my requests for information. Keo is a super young man and I enjoyed our conversations as he showed me his school programs. The location is excellent as it's only half an hour to Kalapana and about 1 hour to the National park visitor centre and Jaggar Museum where the lookout for the Kilauea Volcano active crater is. I'm very happy I chose to stay with Ted, Pauline and Keo.

Jun 27, 2019Ted, Pauline & Keo were amazing hosts with an equally amazing home. The room itself is a lot more impressive than the pictures suggest, with so much space to spread out. The bed and couch were really comfortable. It in the common area of the kitchen and lounge, the mornings and evenings are lovely with everyone chatting before heading out/returning from their day's adventures. Ted & Pauline were at hand to help with providing any tips on what too see & where to go. It was always nice chatting to other guests as well, but if you prefer more privacy & seclusion, you can easily retreat to your room. We had a great time with this family, and look forward to staying here again if we come back to big island.
Jun 27, 2019한적한 시골에서 힐링할 수 있어요. 쾌적한 환경, 친절한 가족들.... 영어가 서툴러도 너무 친절해 불편하지 않습니다. 침대는 너무 편안하고, 방은 넓습니다. 5명도 문제없이 숙박이 가능합니다. 편안한 시골집에 방문하는 느낌을 느낄 수 있어 좋았습니다. 힐로 시내에서 조금 떨어져있지만 불편하지 않아요. 저희 아이들과 Keo가 너무 신나게 사이좋게 놀았습니다. 좋은 친구를 사귀었네요. 아이들이 있는 가족에게 적극 추천합니다.

Jun 27, 2019We choose this place because it is excellently located to visit Hilo, the volcano and the lava fields. We had an excellent stay at Ted, Pauline and Keos house. They are great hosts, making us feel at home immediately. We had a huge room with very comfortable beds and an own bathroom with all amenities. It is very quiet and we can absolutely recommend it.

Jun 27, 2019Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir richtig herzlich begrüßt und Ted hat uns sofort super Tipps gegeben, was wir alles machen können, darunter auch viele gute Insider-Informationen. Das Zimmer ist einfach unglaublich schön und die Bettlaken sind sehr weich. Wenn ihr euch auf Hawaii wie Zuhause fühlen wollt und die nettesten Menschen auf der Welt treffen wollt, dann geht unbedingt hierher. Wir können nur sagen: Das hier ist ein Glücksgriff!
Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Ted, Pauline and Keo's place for three nights. We had a wonderful stay at their place. We only met Ted, his family was not there during our stay. Ted is a very friendly and helpful person. It was very nice of him to give us guidance on what to see and do in big island. He knows a lot about the place. Without his guidance we wouldn't have got the most out of our stay there. The room was nice and private. We had a separate bathroom for our own which was great. Overall its a great place and Ted is a great host. I will stay here again in my next visit to big island.
Jun 27, 2019Words alone cannot express the deep and heartfelt gratitude that John and I have to Ted, Pauline and Keo for the preparation, duration and Ted seeing us off as we were quite touched with all his wonderful hospitality! Ted goes beyond the call of duty in making sure we are comfortable with getting up early to prepare coffee for us (sometimes at 4 a.m.) on the day we were leaving as we had to finish packing so we were up early! Ted had wonderful suggestions of where to eat and sight see. Pauline took very good care of us prior to our arrival with suggestions of where to shop for groceries since we like to eat healthy! It was our second time to Hilo but did not know that Target offered such great deals! At times Ted and John (my husband) would have a blast teasing me as I can be gullible and I am sure Pauline heard me calling her name as I was outnumbered with being the only female for a few days until other guests arrived but it was fun just like being part of the family. We had the most beautiful and spacious room and bathroom, awakening to the Hawaiian sunlight and the sweet aroma of coffee brewing; doesn't get any better than that. Ted even offered some of his delicious cooking (steak and pancakes) when we had first arrived as we were forced to stay in during the first two days of our trip due to working on our taxes. If you want a place that you can call "home" and not feel like a simple guest then you must stay at Ted, Pauline and Keo's beautiful home-you will feel like family after you arrive! We are already planning our next trip there in 2018 and have only been home 3 days, when the Merrie Monarch takes place again! Jun 27, 2019The bedroom I had a very large including a sofa in my room. Ted was great host making me feel like his home was my home. Very knowledgeable about the area. Gave excellent suggestions on tourist activities and knows the best places to eat. When I return again, I would definitely stay at this property.
Jun 27, 2019Unsere Aufenthalt in Teds, Paulines und Keos Haus war ein wunderbarer Abschluss unserer Hawaii-Reise. Unser Zimmer Oasis 1 war mehr als großzügig und bot Platz für uns Drei. Unsere Tochter fand das Hochbett im Schrank absolut cool. Alles war super sauber und wohl temperiert. Wunderbar war auch das Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Blick in die Wildness. Den Unterschied hat aber Ted gemacht, der uns viel über Hawaii und Big Island erzählt und tolle Insidertipps für unsere Ausflüge gegeben hat. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Absolut empfehlenswert! Danke!
Jun 27, 2019Ted was a great host, and our stay was very comfortable. Location is central (30-45 mins drive) to Volcanoes, Lava Boat Tour, Kalapana Lava viewing hike entry and other attractions around Hilo. Restaurants and groceries are in Keaau, 7 miles away.

Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay with Ted, Pauline and Keo. Our family of four fit comfortably in their large private room. Our kids (4 & 6) loved the bunk beds and the kid-friendly cat and dog. And we all enjoyed the many kitchen table conversations we had with our hosts, whom welcomed us into their home as if we were long lost friends. Keo even shared his Legos and books with our daughters. The location is residential, but put us within a stone's throw of Hilo and the Volcano (and all of Pauline's other local recommendations). We're already planning our return trip.

All the family (including the cute pets) and the others in the house! They made us feel at home, also helped us with the laundry and offered a hot coffee in the morning! Couldn't ask for better!
Jun 27, 2019Enjoyed thoroughly our stay with this warm family. Place was spacious and well kept. plus had a huge lawn where I could play with their pet dog and cat. They gave us important tips on the local traffic and about visiting places. Kitchen was easy to use and they lent us their cooler and ice packs for our trips. It was fun and informative to chat with them.
Jun 27, 2019The house of Ted, Pauline and Keo was one of the best real airbnb's we stayed on our 11-month-trip and we enjoyed the 9 days with them so much before leaving home again. It began with a warmly welcome from Ted and Keo on arrival in the evening, showing us all facilities of their spacious house and giving us lots of advices for the fascinating volcano area. Next morning we met Pauline, a very remarcable, strong women and loving heart of the family. We felt like part of this extraordinary family from the first moment on, nevertheless our privacy was accepted all the time. They were very helpful and concerned about our wellbeing and communication was very easy going, interesting and fun. After 2 nights we got the possibility to move in the biggest of their 3 guestrooms and enjoyed the space we had there very much. Coffee was already prepared every morning by Ted, and it was nice to have breakfast outside on their terrace overlooking the big garden. The house is situated in a silent, natural area and a perfect place to visit the Volcanoes National Park, the lava viewing area, Hilo and the beautiful east cost up to Waipio valley, also the value for money is great. So we highly recommend to stay there when visiting the area. Thank you so much Pauline, Ted and Keo!

Jun 27, 2019Unser Zimmer war sauber und sehr großzügig und gemütlich. Wir konnten die gut ausgestattete Küche jederzeit benutzen und hatten im Kühlschrank auch unser eigenes Fach. Das Haus ist etwas abseits gelegen, sodass ein Mietwagen notwendig ist. Viele Urlaubsziele der Insel sind aber von hier aus mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen, insbesondere der volcanos national Park und die lava viewing area sind sehr nahe gelegen. Die ganze Familie ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben während unseres 10tägigen Aufenthalts immer wieder tolle Ratschläge und Tipps bekommen! Ted hat uns zum Beispiel auch seine Taschenlampe ausgeliehen. Alles in allem eine wirklich tolle Unterkunft, die wir auf jeden Fall wieder buchen würden.

Jun 27, 2019Clean, conscientious, and beautiful. Ted, Pauline, and Keo create a very welcoming and personal environment. They will treat you like family. Ted will even be your personal trip advisor with local know-how you can’t find online, showing you the prime locations and access points to avoid unnecessary parking fees and tickets using his big-screen blow-up of (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. Definitely consider staying here if you’re shopping around.

They were unable to be there for part of my stay but they left a notebook with a lot of suggestions of places to visit and eat at. I also love the location, not a far drive to a lot of the places I wanted to visit. Will definitely be recommending them to friends and family!

Jun 27, 2019무엇보다도 호스트인 테드는 진심으로 우리를 환영해 주고 주변 여행지에 대해서도 아주 세밀하고 친절하게 답변을 해주 머무는 동안 너무 감사했어요. 힐로 다운타운에서 좀 떨어져 있어 대중교통을 이용하기에는 불편하지만 렌터카를 이용하면 별 문제가 없습니다. 화산공원 등에 접근하기가 좋은 장소이고 무엇보다도 숲속에 위치한 아주 조용한 곳인데다가 넓은 잔디정원이 있어 산책하기에 좋아 그냥 머물러 있기만 해도 심신이 힐링되는 것 같았습니다. 다만 고양이와 강아지가 있어 심심치는 않았지만 거실 바닥에 다소 냄새가 나는 것 같았어요. 다음에 빅아일랜드에 가면 다시 머물고 싶은 곳입니다. 테드씨, 4박 5일 머무는 동안 당신의 친절에 진심으로 감사합니다. ^^

Jun 27, 2019I really love this place, more importantly, this family :P Out of all the airbnb trips that I have with my parents, my parents rate this one as one of the best they have ever stayed! The entire house is clean and organized. Our room is very spacious and private. The bathroom is really clean with all the things that you need (even make up remover! I didn't end up using those cuz I brought my own xD). Ted and Pauline gave us lots of local tips and we wouldn't survive, like real survive the night Lava hiking without the "real" flashlight they lent to me. They also offered us coffee in the morning, very nice family and highly recommended! :)
Jun 27, 2019Ted, Pauline et Keo sont extraordinaires! Ils sont vraiment dédiés pour leur visiteurs. Ils nous ont donné plein de conseils sur les différents attraits à visiter. La chambre était spacieuse et la salle de bain privée était parfaite pour nous avec notre bébé de 6 mois. L'emplacement est stratégique pour découvrir l'est de l'île. Je recommande les yeux fermés à quiconque. Merci encore à vous trois!

Jun 27, 2019English: This was a spectacular place to stay. The hosts were welcoming and informative, often helping us with recommendations and tips. The house is just outside of the city, offering a lovely, quiet place to retire in the evening. The room was enormous! We were well pleased with everything. We would absolutely stay with them again! Deutsch: Dies war ein spektakulärer Ort zum übernachten. Die Gastgeber waren freundlich und informativ und halfen uns oft mit Empfehlungen. Das Haus liegt etwas außerhalb der Stadt und bietet einen schönen, ruhigen Ort, um sich am Abend zurückzuziehen. Das Zimmer war riesig! Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder bei ihnen übernachten!

Jun 27, 2019Unglaublich nette, aufgeschlossene und sympathische Familie. Ted und Pauline haben sich viel Mühe gegeben, damit wir uns wohlfühlten umd standen uns mit wertvollen Tipps zur Seite. Alles mit einer Prise Humor, die wir sehr schätzten :) Die Unterkunft selbst ist in einer ruhigen Wohnsiedlung, ca. 20min Autofahrt nach Hilo und nicht weit vom Volcano Park. Also ein guter Startpunkt für diverse Ausflugsziele. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert :)
Jun 27, 2019We had a wonderful stay with Ted, Pauline and Keo. They have a wealth of information and could easily write an entire travel guide for the Big Island. They were always available and provided lots of great advice to us every day, giving us tips on where to go and what else to see along the way. It definitely helped us get the most out of the Big Island during our (unfortunately) short stay. Super funny too!

Jun 27, 2019Das Zimmer ist riesig. Wir konnten in der Küche alles benutzen es gab extra ein Platz im Kühlschrank für unsere Lebensmittel. Morgens hatte Ted immer bereits Kaffee gekocht. Die Familie ist grossartig. Wir hatten eine weitere airbnb Person im Haus welche supernett war. Wir haben uns abends über unsere Trips zusammen mit der Familie ausgetauscht welche uns immer super Tips gab was man alles noch Unternehmen kann und wie man am besten dort hin kommt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können dieses airbnb jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Unterkunft liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Nachbarschaft und war einfach zu finden. Zentral gelegen zwischen Hilo und dem Volcano National Park auch wenn dieser aktuell geschlossen ist. Hinsichtlich der aktuellen Vulkan und Lava Aktivitäten war zu unserem Besuch die Unterkunft absolut nicht betroffen obwohl wir nur ca. 20 km entfernt waren. Nachts konnte man sogar das Rot der Lava am Himmel sehen. Wir sind froh trotz der Vulkansituation nicht storniert zu haben. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Vielen Dank an euch Drei.
Jun 27, 2019Paulina was such a great host! I use to live in Hawaii and it was so great to be back. The house was super cute! My best friend and I stood in one of the rooms and it was beautiful and comfortable! She already had the top shelve of the fridge cleared out so we could be our food up there if we bought things. She had two adorable pets that we loved to pet. Super clean and very friendly. The only thing was that the WiFi was really bad but it was probably because of the volcano right now. Definitely would stay there again!! Thank you so much!!
Jun 27, 2019Réservez dès que possible! L'endroit est paisible et la famille est très accueillante! Pendant notre séjour d'une semaine, nous nous sommes sentis comme si nous faisions partie de leur famille. Ted est très drôle et Pauline nous a conseillé des adresses locales, ce fût très apprécié. Vraiment une belle expérience Airbnb. Nous avions la chambre Sunrise oasis 1. Elle est très très grande avec une salle de bain privée. Seuls petits points à noter: attendez vous à avoir du bruit avec les geckos et les grenouilles la nuit (avoir des bouchons est utile) et la température du côté est de l'île est plus aléatoire. Nous avons eu quelques journées nuageuses et pluvieuses. Merci à vous!!

Jun 27, 2019These guys are just perfect! Such awesome people, who always had very good tips and we’re super nice to talk to! We had our own private room which had a lot of space. The bathroom was just the next door and was also private. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and was perfect size. This Airbnb is definitely perfect for the money!

Room is very clean and has everything we needs. My son followed and like Keo well and Keo also took care of my son well. If someone asks me, I will recommend this place unconditionally.

Jun 27, 2019We had the best time staying with Ted, Pauline, and Keo. The accommodations were as described. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space and a great value. It was so nice to be able to do laundry. The best part was their warm welcome and hospitality during our visit. We felt like we were staying with friends and look forward to keeping in touch with them. I would highly recommended a visit in this home.

Jun 27, 2019This place was awesome! It is super super clean and I'd much bigger than I expected. The hosts were so kind and offered us a lot of information and advice that made our trip even better. My favorite aspect was falling asleep in the wayyyyy comfortable bed while listening to rain outside the many windows in the room. Wonderful place!

They had many helpful suggestions that allowed us to maximize our time on the Hilo side of the island. The space was very comfortable and larger than expected. We loved hearing the gentle rainstorms in the evening and the sounds of the night. Thank you Ted and Pauline for your hospitality!
Jun 27, 2019房东真的超级棒!一家都很热情,而且会提供很多实用的关于当地游览的建议｡我们住的是大套间,完全可以住一家人,一张大双人床,和单人上下铺｡房间非常干净｡厨房用品一应俱全,房东甚至问我们要不要煮米饭,他们有很多米｡离国家火山公园很近,开车去购物中心也很方便,离开机场开车大概30-40分钟｡很安静,社区环境超级安全｡房东家门口停车位很大,草坪房东也让随便停家里的狗和猫都很亲人,可以随便摸!但是一般都关在花园里,所以即使怕狗或猫也没关系｡Keo比照片要大(拍照的时候他还小)如果准备带伴手礼给房东的话,可以考虑12,3岁男孩会喜欢的东西｡总之是非常棒的经历｡
Jul 27, 2019Ted, Pauline, and Keo are fantastic hosts. They were quick to respond when I had last minute questions. Large clean house, bathroom was spotless, and their backyard is perfect for stargazing. Ted and Pauline provided useful travel tips. Ted made us coffee even though we left at 6:30am the first day. Very convenient location to visit the volcanoes national park and Mauna Kea. Overall our trip was way better because of their advice on what to see in 2 short days. Thanks!

He met us in driveway with a hug and we entered through the front door where he offered us some pasta. Felt like we were staying for the night at a family members house as activities such as dinner and laundry occurred ;-). Thanks for the hospitality.
