Jun 27, 2019Alison and Gary's place was the nicest shared accommodation I can think of. They are the loveliest most accommodating & chilled out people. It was just as simple as described and it was very easy to relax there especially after crazy Waikiki! The accommodation was simple & very clean! Gorgeous uncluttered energy (very little electro magnetism) and it was easy to sleep, read and chill out happily ! I traveled with my 14 yr old son and we both loved Alison and Gary's hospitality! We'd do it again for sure!!
Jun 27, 2019This is the cutest little house. Gary and Allison were very hospitable and welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay. The location was wonderful we wanted to be away from Honolulu but close to things to do. And this was the perfect location all the beaches around were beautiful and it was just a short drive to historic Halei'wa and great local restaurants. We would stay here again in a heart beat!!

Excellent North Shore location, close to lots of cool stuff. Their space is super clean, private space, comfortable, with beautiful original art in every room, comfortable beds and great shower water pressure.

Arriving was very easy - they left a key for me so I could settle in while they were away. We met in the evening of my stay and had a very nice talk in the kitchen! Jun 27, 2019This is a super nice airbnb! It's very close (2 min walking) to a beautiful beach, the house is tidy, clean and well equipped. Also the rooms are cosy. Bus Stop also just 1 Minute from the House to get you anywhere you like. Allison and Gary are super friendly and welcoming. We can totally recommend the place - we loved it!
Jun 27, 2019We arrived later in the evening and were welcomed at the door by Gary - he was warm & inviting and made us very comfortable. The room was just what we needed - a bed with access to the bath & shower. We were basically just making a pit stop but if we come back to Oahu, we would definitely stay again. Though we didn't take advantage of it, they were generous with their food, and the bathroom was well-stocked with high quality products. Thanks, Gary & Allison!
Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary are great hosts and they have a wonderful, charming little cottage on the North Shore with all the amenities. They're a young, adventerous couple that (had our schedules allowed) I would've loved to have hung out more with. The area is located to everything you would want on the north side. A qucik hop over to Haleiwa, Waimea Valley or the Dole Plantation - or cruise south to the Turtle Bay Resort area. The absolute best was just walking across the street to the beach. Great home, convenient location and wonderful hosts.

Jun 27, 2019Gary and Allison are both very friendly and hospitable. They were willing to loan out their snorkel gear, canoe, bikes, towels, and surfboard. They gave us good directions on how to find their home, its tucked away behind a few other homes on a dirt road so it can be tricky. We enjoyed the location in the country, although with our windows open (to cool it down) we could hear the neighbors. It was windy at night and we fell asleep listening to the leaves moving in the wind and rain. Occasionally we had to shut the window if the wind blew the rain in. The a/c is in the living room/kitchen area so it doesn't help to keep the bedroom cool. With both windows open and the fan they provided, we were able to get the air moving in the room and cool the room down at night. They have a Queen size bed in room #2. The home is a few minutes away from Sunset, Shark's Cove and other beaches and about 15 minutes away from Hale'iwa. We enjoyed being close to the North Shore Beaches. There is a 3 mile bike path close to the home that goes along the street and has some trees as a buffer from the street. The cottage is in the country and we enjoyed seeing the critters outside, but didn't enjoy them as much when they came inside our bedroom. The bathroom is shared with other guests.
Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary were awesome! We had a place reserved in Waikiki that canceled on us the day of our reservation so we had to scramble to find something. We came upon Allison and Gary's place and the responded right away! They have the nicest little house just a block from the north shore. While we were only there for a short period of time, we had a great experience and would recommend their place for anyone looking for a chill spot on the north shore!

So close to the beach and snorkeling in and around Sharks Cove. Gary and I kicked it back a bit, and I appreciated our time together. Made me want to stay in touch. Good people.
Jun 27, 2019I enjoyed my stay in the Cozy Cottage. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet my gracious hosts, having enjoyed the sights till late. It was COZY yes!! The place was very clean and homey. I didn't see anyone at all, and it was like having the place to myself. Mahalo for opening up your space to people like me! It makes me feel so good about the world that there are people who still believe and experience ALOHA; it's people like Allison and Gary and the Airbnb community who shows the world, ALOHA is alive and well. I appreciate it so very much!
Jun 27, 2019Gary and Allison were great hosts, they made us feel like family. The accommodations were everything a North Shore experience should be. The house was kept clean each day. The kitchen and restroom were equipped with everything we needed including great water pressure in the shower. The bed was very comfortable and the night breezes felt nice with the windows open. We were able to use their beach cruiser bikes for short rides to local surf beaches on the North Shore. Surf and snorkel gear were always available to use. It was nice to have a home base on the North side to stay while traveling around the Island. Coming back to the Cottage felt like coming back home.

Jun 27, 2019I couldnt go on this trip, my brother went instead, with my newphew and they say Allisons place was beyond his expectations, the house is nice, is really close to sunset beach and Allison and Gary are great guys, we will definitely stay there next time.
Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary were welcoming, friendly, laid back hosts. The room was simple but clean, and the bed extremely comfortable with a nice fan to cool you as you sleep. There was a nice selection of tea, coffee, and cereals for breakfast, but we opted for the leftover waffles that were kindly offered to us. We enjoyed a beer and conversation with the hosts, and the guests in room #1 in the evening. Recommended as an affordable place to stay on the north shore! Check out Kawela Bay for swimming even in the winter (very close to the airbnb) It's relatively calm while the rest of the beaches are wild with waves...

Jun 27, 2019Alison & Gary were great hosts! Checking in was a breeze and the room was exactly as described. Our favorite beach – Maleakahana – was just minutes away (by car), as are lots of other great beaches. We'd definitely stay here next time we're on Oahu!
Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary were great hosts! Although we only spent one night at their home, it was a very restful evening. They had a clean room waiting for us with clean towels for us to use. We chatted with Gary for a bit in the evening before bed and in the morning showered in their clean bathroom and were able to grab a quick bite to eat (cereal and a banana) before heading out. The directions they gave were clear ( I would suggest finding the place in the daylight because it could be tricky in the dark). There was great communication before our arrival. We didn't get to meet Allison but Gary was very helpful and accommodating. Mahalo!

It's within walking distance to the beach but nestled in a quiet neighborhood off the main road. They have everything you need. I felt right at home and loved waking up to the sounds of birds outside. This is a great place to go to get out of the crowds of Waikiki.

Jun 27, 2019My friend I had such a relaxing time on the north shore of Ohau taking in the beautiful sights. What topped our time off was coming home to Alison and Gary's cozy cottage. We would highly recommend a stay with Alison and Gary, not only was there a comfy bed on offer, but a warm shower with a guest basket with white fluffy towels, face washers and shower gel. The basket also had aloe Vera and mozzy replant just incase. They also had a selection of yummy breakfast options for guests, as well as snorkel hear on offer. We loved our stay and hope to return sometime soon in the near future!

Their place is spacious and cozy at the same time, and one block from the beach and a great bike trail accessible with their cool bike cruisers. Best of all, A and G are awesome hosts, answering all our questions about the area and being great company in general. We highly recommend staying with these guys!
Jun 27, 2019Wonderful experience. I had originally signed up for two nights but due to a delayed flight only made it for the second. It was a perfect place to rejuvenate. Close to hiking trails and across the street from the beach. Love country living and appreciate the aloha spirit felt here!

Jun 27, 2019What can be said about Allison and Gary that cant be deciphered from their status as superhosts? In fact, airbnb should make a category of super-duper hosts just for them. The house is perfectly situated on the north shore walking distance to amazing surf spots and beaches. They give you access to bicycles putting the grocery store well within reach. Their home is cozy and clean and the room is comfortable and private. They both are very accommodating and do everything in their power to make you feel welcomed. Definitely an essential stop for Any wayward travellers on oahu !

They gave me a key and didn't sweat my coming and going. Would highly recommend their guest room if you're planning a trip to Oahu.

I had a rental car, it was easy for parking in front of their home and safe. Would stay here again next time I am on the North Shore.

Allison gave us suggestions were to go for a hike, surfing for beginners and dinner. The beach with beautiful waves is just across the street.

Jun 27, 2019Gary and Allison are very friendly and the place was just what we needed for a weekend packed with outdoor activities. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Gary and Allison kindly offered up the food in the fridge and had extra sunscreen to share. Parking is a bit tight and it's kind of hard to find, but once you get that down, it was all really convenient and nice.
Jun 27, 2019Gary & Allison are two very warm and welcoming people. Their home is a basic setup with comfortable beds, and is only steps to beautiful beaches and surf spots. Parking is tight so I wouldn't recommend a large vehicle as there are several houses sharing a common drive that you parallel park along. This was our first Airbnb booking and we will be using it again and again.
Jun 27, 2019Allison was there to greet us when we arrived. She was easy to communicate with prior to our arrival. We felt very at home here and totally enjoyed the space and company. The location was great for exploring the north shore. We slept wonderfully in our room. The bed was comfortable and fun. We would gladly stay with these two again. It was also very nice to have a french press available and some quick breakfast foods provided so we could get exploring quickly in the mornings.

Jun 27, 2019Great hosts. We loved our stay at Alison and Gary's place. Alison and Gary were both friendly. Towels and bathroom were clean and comfortable. (They had a towel warmer!!). The room was cozy (They just installed an AC in the room). Just remember not to bring food into the room because ants might come very quickly.
Jun 27, 2019Alison and Gary's home was a perfect landing spot on the North Shore, situated right between the town of Haleiwa and attractions such as Weimea and Turtle Bay. We had no issues parking our sedan directly in front of their home, but larger vehicles with poor turning radiuses may want to park on the street below as their street is narrow and could be difficult to turn around in. Their home and the space was LOVELY! Small touches such as towels (real talk: I used the towel warmer), guide books, sun screen/bug spray, and especially delicious breakfast options (we immediately ran out and bought the same giant mac, coconut, honey, PB A&G offer from North Shore Goodies) made us feel welcome and well cared for. We only met Alison briefly, but Gary was nice enough to stand and chat with us at length - both are wonderful young people! I will likely point friends and family visiting the island their way; everything was phenomenal!

The whole cottage and room were adorable. I was able to meet them for a few minutes and their hospitality was great! The energy in the home is so positive! I felt comfortable and safe and my intention to get away from the busy city was fulfilled by staying here. I couldn't have asked for a better experience while staying at the North Shore. We didn't have a car so caught the bus everywhere which was super easy and the bus stop was a minute walk from the house. Thanks so much for everything :)

The room was comfortable and had A/C, which was wonderful after being out at the beach all day. Their place is in a great location – minutes away from some awesome food truck spots that we enjoyed. Best to have a car to get here, but bus can be possible, but not recommended. The house itself is a basic beach house not really meant for hanging out in all day in, but rather a place to sleep and eat. It was a plus that they made a shelf of breakfast items available to guests to have a small bite before going out for the day.

We were occupied at a luau all day until 9:30pm and didn't not make it to the location until around 10:00pm and the host were helping with directions when we couldn't find the location the whole time. The place is clean and cozy. The host were awesome and talked with us a while!

The house was within walking distance to the beach and in a great spot to explore the North Shore. The check in process was easy. It was a great place to stay that I would highly recommend!

Jun 27, 2019The room was perfect for our North Shore weekend. A beautiful, peaceful, seemingly private, beach is just a couple minutes walk across the street and several more are a short drive away. We enjoyed the proximity to activities we were interested in-Polynesian Cultural Center, Waimea Falls, surf lessons, snorkeling(they have equipment you may borrow). I stayed with my four year old daughter and Alison and Gary were very friendly to us, even digging out some toys and coloring books for the little one. We felt welcome in the shared space and spent some down time hanging out in the living room watching TV or eating food we picked up at the grocery store nearby. The room is comfortable with plenty of closet space, good bed, and an AC unit. The hosts didn't mind that I arrived early and left a hidden key for me so that I could leave our bags and go off exploring. Overall, we had a great stay here and I'd recommend it, I liked staying here even better than the big Waikiki resort we went to for the rest of our Oahu vacation.

Jun 27, 2019Safe, clean and quiet is really all I need to make my stay great and Allison and Gary's place was a perfect place to crash at night after an adventurous day out. Patio was just so quiet and peaceful in the morning (I'm on Texas time so we woke up super early) - they're gracious and friendly travelers like us; I'd stay here again. For other travelers I'd suggest renting a car and shopping at farmers' markets to keep from spending money. Local Hawaiian beer is gooood :) Yelp for hiking spots and snorkeling at Shark's cove is best done SUPER early in the morning before the crowds come :) Thanks for opening your home to us!
Jun 27, 2019I didn't have the opportunity to meet Gary but Allison was a great host. The vibe of the north shore is chill. And that is exactly what you'll find here. If you're looking for pristine, your best bet is a hotel. This is a great spot with easy access to the beach, some great local eats, and other outdoorsy activity. I would recommend it for solo travelers or couples but maybe not kids.

Hosts were engaged when I showed interest to hang out and chat or completely understanding and non intrusive if I wanted to be on my own. It was the perfect blend of quiet time and interaction because it was at my pace and mutual respect.

Even though I didn't get to meet the hosts, finding the place was easy, getting in was easy, and I felt very welcome :-) I was really stoked to see that they had surfboards and a whole bunch of gear you could borrow to take down to the beach. Die Unterkunft war nicht wirklich sauber, aber es war auch eine eher kurzfristige Aktion dort zu nächtigen. Außerdem war es abends sehr laut, da es ein Samstagabend kurz vor Halloween war, und wir konnten uns von unserem Jetlag ohne ohropax kaum erholen. Alles in allem sehr freundliche Gastgeber und für eine Nacht okay.

We got to use beach towels, a beach chair, and snorkel gear, and a boogie board which was very convenient. There was a TV and AC in the room as well. I recommend this place to everyone.

Jun 27, 2019Gary and Allison are great. They are young but very comfortable hanging out (we are old enough to be their parents). If you know the North Shore, then you know how great it is to rent a room and have it be comfortable. There is one real hotel on the NS, and at $250-$400 a night- we just wanted to be home on the NS, so this was a great option. We had to share a bathroom ( worked out well) and there was a full kitchen with refrigerator. The parking was a little tight but very doable (also a plus on the NS). Air-conditioning was great!!!! Walking distance to V-Land, Ted's Bakery, and Sunset Beach. Public transit is available- also a great plus.

Jun 27, 2019Fantastic location and well set up for guests. Clean rooms and towels plus lots of activity gear to use. Our stay was pretty comfortable and the location was perfect for exploring the North Shore and beyond. Ted's Bakery was close by and delicious. Turtle Bay was a short drive away and had a full resort amenities many of which we could use. We also really enjoyed the tour of Kahuku Farms and the fantastic fresh food offered in their cafe.

We want you to become SUPERHOSTS- At the good speed that you are developing, perhaps, you can rent out a larger home with 2-3 restrooms. Use the auto-feature to send accurate directions to guests who book and please include that the home is in the back of the alley. Especially after dark, guests can spend upto an hour trying to figure out the hyphenated address. An investment into a new mattress will pay off in 4-7 nights' stay. The restroom and kitchen could use some TLC and elbow grease. I love your new refrigerator and the hardwood floors. Thank you for sharing your stories about your world travels.
Jun 27, 2019This is the best airbnb we've ever stayed at! The couple was super chill and it wasn't awkward in the slightest. The rooms are nice and they just got all new bedding, towels, etc. They have everything you would want! We got to borrow their snorkel equipment, boogie board, fins, etc. We would definitely stay here again, great location to all the best beaches.

Surfing the North Shore has been a dream of mine for a long time and they literally live straight across the road from an amazing surf break. Their place is hard to find. It's tucked up a dirt road on a gentle hill.

Das Haus ist in einer Wohnsiedlung gelegen, 100m vom Strand entfernt. Für eine Erkundung der Nordküste Oahus sehr gut geeignet, allerdings ist die Gegend abends etwas verschlafen. Falls man vorhat viel unterwegs zu sein, ist die Unterkunft bei Allison und Gary auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Jun 27, 2019Allison was accommodating upon arrival. She's shows you the house and where you'll be staying at. The room i stayed in was really neat.. I stayed in the whole night and tried to sleep early since i planned to be at the beach at sunrise, just a little bit of noise from the living room kept me from sleeping but since it was still early(8/9pm) i didnt pay much attention. I had quite a hard time looking for the house, you might have to call the host to find exactly where the house is. You will go through a drive way that leads to a dirt alley going up to their house. The location is very close to Sunset beach and Banzai Pipeline. Overall, I do recommend the place for a short stay.

Jun 27, 2019Good location, although it's not in Haleiwa. 15 mins out. our favorite thing we did was get to use the bikes they have at their house. across the street after you pass a few houses there's a bike trail under trees and you can make stops at the beach. We mostly talked to Gary and he was really friendly and engaging. he will like to hear about your stay and how to make it better. there's a shared bathroom between the owners and another air bnb room, so you have to wait your turn but it's usually available. the room has cold a.c. but no fresh air, which is not what we're used to at our home the wind is constantly blowing in. overall, we just wanted to spend time on the north shore for our first 3 nights and it was a good deal. :)

Jun 27, 2019The buses are a good way to travel on the north shore. There is a bus stop on their street. Very direct. Travel light and hopefully have an HBO or something. It was great going to the beach and coming back and watching game of thrones. They had other guests so be careful about when you want to use the bathroom. Nice rooms too.

The living quarters definitely served their purpose, it was a great location if you want to experience the North Shore authentically. Right down the street from the 7 mile & other great surf breaks if you’re a surfer (pipeline, sunset, v-land, etc.) I enjoyed talking to them & playing with their adorable dog. Will definitely stay here next year & whenever I make my way back to the North Shore. :) Thank you Allison & Gary!!

Jun 27, 2019While it's completely true that Allison and Gary are some of the friendliest and helpful AirBNB hosts that I've ever stayed with (they provided helpful advice on which beaches to visit, what to see on Oahu, snorkeling gear, etc.), it should also be said that their house did not live up to our expectations. Driving up to the house was difficult (up an unpaved road with potholes), parking was difficult (as close to the house as possible as there are about 5 or 6 other cars you have to contend with), and the house wasn't as clean as pictured. Though it's a given that houses near beaches will have some measure of sand, that doesn't excuse the amount of sand in the bathtub and general uncleanliness of the room/bathroom. If you're looking for proximity to beaches, and just a convenient place to sleep, this is the place for you. If you're looking for some measure of cleanliness and comfort (you will be sharing the bathroom with around 6 people), you might want to consider another location.

We didn't get to meet Gary, but Allison was there the whole time and she was super nice and accomodating with our needs. It's very nice that snorkel gears were provided. Kühlschrank, Bad, Waschmaschine, Schnorchelkram und überhaupt, irgendwie darf man alles mitbenutzen und man fühlt sich schnell wie zuhause. Shadow, ihr Welpe, ist zuckersüß und es war herzerwärmend , wie sie ihn trainieren. Ich fand die Lokation jetzt großartig, ein schöner Strand am anderen, und Profisurfer beim Wettkampf, aber ich hab jetzt abends auch sonst nichts gebraucht. Zum Partymachen ist es jetzt so nichts , aber ich hab auch nicht gesucht. Sicher wären rund um den Wettbewerb Events gewesen. Das Zimmer ist einfach , aber praktisch mit AC und das Bad teilt man sich, was aber nie ein Problem war. Essen gehen war ich jetzt nicht, Foodland und die vielen Foodtrucks waren gut für mich. Gerne wieder North Shore und dann bei Allyson, Gary und Shadow.
Jun 27, 2019Gary and Alison are accommodating and easygoing hosts. Most of the guests staying there are active young people. It’s like staying in a private hostel, which is very fun. Although people living in four bedrooms share one bathroom, we were ok with that. The place is not very easy to be found, so it’s suggested to check-in during the daytime.

Jun 27, 2019Great AirBnB experience due to super friendly hosts. We checked in very late which we felt badly about but Gary and Allison were most gracious about it. The accommodations are simple with a small room and shared bathroom, but were clean and completely met our needs. Great location on North Shore close to Weimea and not too far from BYUH. There is a nice bike path for biking or running too!

Very easy to walk, bike and drive. Sunset beach is beautiful and quiet. The host was very friendly and helpful. Snorkeling gear available. I would recommend this place.

Jun 27, 2019The Airbnb of Allison and Gary is really neat and located in a very quite neighbourhood across the street of the North shore. Allison and Gary are very relaxed and great hosts! The room is neat, clean and very cosy. Kitchen etc. can also be used and is equipped with everything needed. They also have a cute dog :)! Sometimes when all the rooms are rented out, it can take some time to get to the bathroom, but still ok. All in all we really enjoyed the stay! Thank you!

As mentioned in other reviews, the parking is a bit of an issue especially when cars need to be reshuffled in the rain... Amazingly there were no bathroom sharing issues even with a full house. Met some nice people and Shadow was an added bonus!

Most challenging part for future guests might be the hostel-like atmosphere...five bedrooms sharing one bathroom. Also, potential cat/dog allergies. If you can handle that, what you see from their profile, and what you read from other reviews, you'll probably have a great stay here! Air conditioning in my room was fantastically effective! Our room was exactly as pictured and described, and perfect for our plans and stay on the North Shore. Parking was simple. It was a great deal for what the place offers. I would definitely recommend Allison & Gary's Air BnB for future guests. We're hoping we can make it out there again, but hopefully next time a little longer so we cab enjoy the North Shore a little longer, and the fact that this place is literally right across the street but away enough from the main road. Jun 27, 2019This place was perfect for our trip. Nice bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen but was for the most part clean. They have an Australian shepherd named shadow who is the sweetest pup ever and really well trained. The house is about 3 minutes away pipeline and pretty close to some awesome food and beach spots. Gary and Allison really made the place feel like home and we're super laid back. Would love to stay there again soon! And highly reccomend you do too
Jun 27, 2019Definitely a weird experience. Place was smelly and damp inside. The Floors, tabletops, bathroom etc. were all pretty dirty. We didn’t have bath towels provided. Outside had rusty, dangerous power tools everywhere in the rain. a lot of hazards. Bikes and beach gear also not provided. Would not recommend.

Jun 27, 2019For me, this place is the best quality/price you can get Northshore. Their dog is the kindest. The rooms are well equipped with AC and Netflix. And for surfers, it’s just a walking distance from the spot. The bathroom/toilet is shared with the hosts and the other guests.

Jun 27, 2019"Location" deserves 6/5 stars. This is a nice spot if you're visiting the northern side of the island - you can just about hit the ocean with a rock from here. Also being so close to Ted's Bakery meant we could easily hop over there for breakfast on our way to whatever in the morning. Sadly, we didn't get much of a chance to hang out and chat with our hosts (we were too busy exploring), but they were very warm and welcoming.
Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary’s house is in a nice location just across Kamehameha Hwy from the ocean. It is nestled into the foothills and was very quiet at night. It’s a bit of a hike from the town center of Haleiwa, and likely requires a car or bike to get there. However, there are coffee spots, bakeries, beaches, and hikes within walking distance. Gary and Allison weren’t there for our stay but their friend was staying at their place taking care of the guests, and she was wonderfully welcoming. The place needs a little bit more cleaning but it didn’t stop us from having a great time on the North Shore.

Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary are the ultimate superhosts! Best place I stayed at during my entire trip and will be my go to Airbnb anytime I'm in Oahu. Their dog Shadow was the sweetest thing! I loved the decor and could have stayed in the house my whole trip and be more than content. I felt like a bother since I was checking in late in the evening and it was a bit hard to find the place, (they have written detailed instructions for this reason) but I had to call them anyways and Gary was nice and understanding about it! Thank you guys, and see you in the future!

The home is potentially difficult to find as it is nestled into the mountainside, but the directions provided made it easy. Parking may be a bit cramp for a large truck. Everything inside was clean & welcoming. A/C in each room makes a huge difference too!

I liked the convenience and location of this place for the value. The room was nice and tidy and they provided WiFi and Netflix. Parking by the house was easy. Thanks Allison!

Jun 27, 2019This home was the perfect location! It was literally a 2 minute walk to the beach and absolutely beautiful! The room has an Swamp cooler wall unit which was amazing! The TV was nice as we could watch Netflix and Hulu at night. It is about 1/2 mile away from Ted’s Bakery which was so delicious! Allison was super nice and texts is back really fast. Closet had some hangers for us and there’s a washer and dryer in the back. Definitely recommend!

Jun 27, 2019Nous avons été très déçus de notre séjour. Il n'y a qu'une seule chambre de bain pour un total de 10 personnes possibles dans la maison. C'est beaucoup trop. Il y des objets qui traînent un peu partout, dans et autours de la maison. Les hôtes manques de temps pour en faire une place bien et il y a un potentiel énorme ! C'est une maison louée qui à besoin de beaucoup de rénovations et surtout d'améliorations (plus de rangement). La salle de bain est à refaire. Ne soyez pas surpris de voir le robinet de la cuisine mal fixé. C'est un endroit parfait pour de jeunes gens en voyages et qui ne font que passer et qui ont un budget serré mais nous n'avons pas aimé. Nous avons discutés avec d'autres voyageurs présents et nous avions tous les même commentaires négatifs. Désolé mais ça ne respecte pas selon moi la philosophie airbnb.

There was also a gap in the window between room and air conditioner so we had to improvise and shove cardboard between for bugs/privacy. Security was a slight concern because our room didn't have a lock. Location however is excellent, walking distance to beach and Ted's, etc.

Jun 27, 2019At first when pulling up to the house, we were a little unsure about the place, but once you get inside, it's incredible and they have the CUTEST dog named Shadow. Although we never got to meet Allison, Gary was a great guy and you could tell that he cared about us. We were welcomed to use anything in the house, just clean up after yourself of course. We were so excited to have an A/C unit in our room because of how hot it was there, and having the TV was a huge bonus as well. It was a great way to relax after the day. We had a great time staying here, and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay on the North Shore. The location is perfect and right next to all the good beaches.

Jun 27, 2019The location is amazing, didn’t think it was difficult to find just a bit off the beaten path. Right off many north shore beaches, Teds, etc. Just as pictured, loved having AC for a day. Met some of the other travelers staying there and one even shared their last breakfast with me. Always love places like this to meet people and swap stories. I only met Gary and he was awesome. Highly reco this place, would stay again if I’m back!

Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary were amazing hosts! They were so generous from check in, where Gary explained that the kitchen and living room were shared spaces. We were able to use the entire kitchen which was so kind of them, we also had so much fun with their dog Shadow (beware, he might sneak a sock or two out of your room- but he’s such a good boy that he never actually eats them, and he is too cute to not be forgiven!). Gary offered us snorkeling gear and Allison allowed us to eat anything in the kitchen- we were going to buy cereal and she kindly offered what they had in the pantry! We would definitely come again, the beach across the road was by far our favourite on the North Shore (it was a very quiet beach too, not popular like Waimea or Sunset). Super close to the Bus stop (although you might be waiting a little while to catch it, once you’re on it’s great though!), walking distance to Ted’s bakery and Sunset Beach! At our arrival, they had just recently moved to another house and were doing renovations, so our lodging was not as clean and tidy as it should have been, but everything else was good! The location is perfect and I could easily take the bus to any famous beach of the north shore, like sunset or shark's Cove. Also the beds are very comfortable and it is a really relaxing place to stay. Moreover Allison and Gary are such nice hosts, I really felt like at home.
Jun 27, 2019In general we enjoyed our stay. We were not aware that we would be sharing the place and the only bathroom with 4 other parties. It got a bit tight at times. The rooms are cute and Allison and Gary provide everything you need (incl. washer and dryer). There is a lot of trash underneath the house - hopefully this is a work in progress. We found the communication a bit difficult before we arrived, as we weren’t getting any responses to our questions, but once we were there they were very responsive and always friendly. The location is great (5 min walk to sunset beach).

The noise should be expected if you’re gonna rent a room adjacent to others. Overall we were pleased with the experience.
Jun 27, 2019Awesome space for the value! Be aware you are sharing bathroom and kitchen area with other guests and hosts, however, we only ever saw one other couple while we were there. Allison and Gary were amazingly communicative with finding the house and when our check-in schedule changed they were flexible. And the AC was SO COLD. (: There was an incident where the road was blocked the second night due to a crime scene and in order to get back to the house we would have had to drive 3 hours completely around the island. But our hosts offered to come to get us at the other side of the closure (though police wouldn't let us through). That was out of our hands and we had to find another place to stay the night. We would come back as its so close to the best beaches on the island, Sunset and Waimea Bay (:
Jun 27, 2019A stunning area. So wonderful. The house is a rickety old building on stilts. Whenever someone closed a door the whole house reverberated! 8 people for 1 bathroom proved problematic! Nevertheless we really enjoyed it there. Met some lovely people and enjoyed some wonderful sights.

Jun 27, 2019Gary is a very nice guy, I never met Allison. I have never had a bad experience at an Airbnb until I stayed here. It was advertised as being a guest in Allison and Gary’s Home with their dog. Instead I am in a four bedroom house that is totally rented out thru Airbnb. The WORST PART was having 7 people with one, yes ONE BATHROOM. It could have been 8 people with one bathroom but I was traveling on my own. Luckily everybody was fairly considerate and took short showers. ONE BATHROOM FOR 8 PEOPLE IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I have traveled around the world and have stayed in many hostel situations that were far better than this place.

Jun 27, 2019Allison and Gary’s place is very well equipped. Both the bathroom and the kitchen have very useful guest consumables. The room itself has a closet for storage and and AC. I’d definitely go back to stay when I’m on the north shore.
