The apartment is really great with all new, very nice. The bed is very comfortable and the perfect couch for two people. Excellent presentation. It really is like the apartment is in the photos. It is only two blocks from the metro, 15 minutes to Manhattan. Nicole is very friendly. She was always aware of our calls and our arrival. Really highly recommended.

Time Square se situe à 30 mn en métro par la ligne C et l'on y accède en 5 mn à pieds depuis l'appartement. Nicole est une personne très serviable et conviviale. Cet appartement a un bon rapport qualité-prix, le supermarché situé à coté est pratique mais sans grand choix alimentaire mais il dépanne bien. Juillet /aout 2013

Jun 27, 2019If you would like to have a wonderful time in New York City, come to Brooklyn and stay at Mitchell Manor! Not only the apartment in a nice and quiet neighborhood make you feel at home, but first of all the wonderful host Nicole. She helps you with all your questions and can give you important advice for the first days in city. The apartment looks the same as the photography, it is homelike, very clean and in the kitchen you will find all equipment you will need. The C train to Manhattan is five minutes away. And close to the apartment you will find lots of supermarkets and grocery stores. I think, Mitchell Manor is a good place to stay in New York – and to come back again!
Jun 27, 2019Nicole was very welcoming and worked around our arrival schedule so she could be there to meet us. The apartment is immaculately clean but also very comfortable so you feel like home. Close to the subway and the neighbours are also friendly! Nicole also checked on us during the week of our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Couldn't ask for more!

Jun 27, 2019Nothing short of AMAZING!! Staying at Nicole's manor was everything I wanted it to be and more - relaxing, warm, comfy - just like home! Nicole and her husband Titus were so sweet and accommodating to my mom and I when we stayed in their place. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking utensils one could need - a big deal for me! Only 20-25 minutes to the city on a very close subway, I would without a doubt stay here again - and again and again! The neighborhood had some yummy restaurants to offer (PEACHES) and eclectic little markets stores to check out. Probably one of my best AirBNB experiences I've ever had.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay at Nicole's was just great. The apartment had everything we needed and is as beautiful as it shows on the photos. Nicole even provided us with a little bed for our 1,5 year old daughter who was travelling with us. The neighbourhood was awesome too, with playgrounds just around the corner, the A-train just a 5-10min walk away and yummy restaurants like the Peaches or the Italian place with the great atmosphere on Lewis. Nicole was a wonderful host too, she was always there when we needed something or had an question, but she also always respected our privacy. This was our first AirBnB-experience and it certainly won't be our last. Thank you Nicole for the great week at your place!

Il faut juste savoir qu'il est à l'entre sol. Le quartier très chouette, avec tous les magasins nécessaires et à 3 minutes à pieds d'une station de métro vers Manhattan.

Estamos muy agradecidos con ella. El apartamento es muy cómodo y agradable, tal como se ve en la fotografía, esta dotado con todas las cosas que uno puede necesitar. La ubicación es muy buena, a 2 cuadras de una estación del metro y tiene líneas de buses a 1 cuadra, inclusive hay una que lleva directamente al aeropuerto JFK en caso de necesitarlo.
Jun 27, 2019I spent a week in NYC visiting family with my wife and son. The experience at Nicole's place was delightful. She was very easy to get ahold of before and during our stay by phone so coordination in arriving and arranging things was perfect. She lives upstairs with her family which is nice and takes very good care of everything. When we arrived she greeted us and helped us with orientation of the area and how to get around etc. The location in Brooklyn was very convenient; a five minute walk to the subway which goes direct into Manhattan (about 20-25 minutes). The were stores and place to get food and eat nearby. The first night there was a huge storm and the power went out but it was fixed by the next morning and she refunded us one night as a gesture to cover the problem which was very kind. We would definitely recommend others wanting to stay in NYC her place and would come back again.

She's very helpful and attentive and truly cares about her guests, trying as much as she can - but without being too imposing - to attend to their needs and make their holidays an unforgettable time. The description of the apartment is accurate and reflects the reality. The only thing I could pick at is that it did not have as much as light as the photos show, but this was not a big deal for us as we spent all days out. Thanks Nicole for making our stay in NY an unforgettable time!
Jun 27, 2019This was our first time using AIRBNB. We really enjoyed our experience. Nicole met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. She told us about several cafes and other businesses within easy walking distance from the apartment. Nicole was just a phone call away if we needed to get in touch with her. The apartment itself was well appointed and very clean. It was nice having a full kitchen so we didn't have to eat every meal out. The apartment is within easy walking distance of a subway station, making our sightseeing trips into Manhattan very convenient. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood when meeting up with other family members and new found friends. I would have no reservations in recommending this rental to anyone.

Jun 27, 2019My wife and I stayed here for a week and I'm baffled as to why Mitchell Manor has been given a 4.5 star rating by previous guests. The location is reasonable with good access to the bus and subway system with either being a only short walk away. Unfortunately the location is also at the corner of a main street that's light controlled and between the hours of 9pm and midnight the traffic noise was constant and loud. Music at full volume and acceleration at full throttle seems to be the norm. The bedroom is on the street side! There are numerous maintenance issues with the suite some of which I consider serious from a safety perspective. The wiring in the suite is questionable with lights dimming and switches/plugs installed incorrectly. The tub/shower arrangement needs a grab bar and a non-slip surface installed. A towel rack and a shelf or two would be helpful as well. The stove fan is falling down and the cupboard doors and drawers need handles! The mattress and the couches need to be updated. They've seen better days and are back breakers. The other issues are purely routine maintenance but ones that should be checked and addressed prior to each guests arrival. Aside from the traffic issue which the host can't control, I couldn't recommend Mitchell Manor in it's present condition.

Jun 27, 2019Nicole heeft ons hartelijk ontvangen in het appartement. En heeft ons allerlei tips gegeven over het openbaar vervoer, eetgelegenheden en supermarkten in de buurt. Het appartement was schoon en was goed voorzien van allerlei keuken en kookgerei en linnengoed. De matrassen op het 2 persoonsbed lagen prima. De matras op de uitklapbed in de woonkamer was niet comfortabel meer en is aan vervanging toe. Nicole woont met haar gezin boven het appartement, maar liet ons volledig vrij en was beschikbaar voor vragen. De buurt waarin het appartement ligt voelde prima en wij hebben ons geen moment niet veilig gevoeld. Met de metro, op 1 blok loopafstand = 5 minuten, ben je binnen 20 minuten in downtown Manhattan. Wij hebben een prima verblijf gehad en bevelen het appartement ook van harte aan.

The neighbourhood was really safe in fact we found the people to be very friendly and helpful. The subway was just round the corner making our journeys into Manhattan very easy. I would definitely visit again.
Jun 27, 2019Nicole was very welcoming, explaining about the subway, places to eat and shop in the neighborhood. The location is great, and the flat it self was large and spaciuos, and very clean. Fully equipped kitchen including toaster, coffeemaker and blender was also very nice, as we cooked at home a few times. The wifi was fast and fully functioning, the well equipped deli literally across the street was open 24hrs, and the supermarket around the corner was a good spot for shopping groceries. All together a very pleasent stay. Thank you Nicole :)
Jun 27, 2019Le logement est conforme à la description et aux photos. La chambre est grande et agréable. Le canapé est un peu moins confortable mais fait l'affaire. L'appartement est propre et agréable. Nicole et son mari ont été très accueillants, et facilement joignables. La rue est très mignonne. Le quartier dans sa globalité un peu moins. Mais l'appartement est à 5 min à pied de l'arrêt de métro d'une ligne locale qui mène directement aux quartiers importants assez rapidement : pont de Brooklyn, wall street, Times Square, west central park et même Harlem. C'est très pratique.
Jun 27, 2019Check in was a nightmare. After emailing Nicole four times to arrange check in we ended up arriving at the time I had stated we would. Knocking on door for a good 15 minutes, no answer even though she knew we were coming. Thankfully her lovely neighbour was leaving her house next door and tried calling Nicole for us to let her know we were standing out the front, still no answer! We then had to leave our luggage with her neighbour as I had also stated via email to Nicole that we had to be in manhattan as we had plans to meet friends from Australia who we only had the day to spend with after not seeing then for three years. We then had to go to a Starbucks in manhattan to see if I recieved a response from Nicole as we had no phones only email access. She then told me that she was home the whole time but couldn't hear us knocking?? And then told us to come back and check in at either 3pm or 8:30pm as they were the only times she could be available so after ruining our whole day and plans with our friends we then had to commute all the way from manhattan to brooklyn just to check in and get the keys! We then arrived at the door as Nicole had said she was home waiting for us, was knocking again for a further 15minutes and surely enough, no answer again!! At this point we thought someone was playing us for a joke! We then knocked on her neighbours door again to call her for us! I have never been so frustrated!! Nicole arrived eventually and stated she had to 'pop' out quickly, seriously?? Nice place inside and friendly neighbourhood. Slept on fold out couch and was given sheets, the sheets and pillow cases were full of hair, emailed Nicole to let her know this and request new sheets, there was no 'sorry' just 'I'll bring them down later' Would have been an enjoyable stay had all of this not gone pear shaped so unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for that reason.
Jun 27, 2019Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time in Nicole's appartement. Check in was easy. Nicole answered every single text massage very quick and even provided some bottled water for those who don't like tap water. Everything was clean and safe even though the neighborhood seems a little bit "strange" when your origin is a typical german town. However, it took us like 2-3 days to get used to it and then we liked it. There's a small Deli right across the street. They have very delicious sandwiches for a god price. There's a hip coffeeshop and a grocery store right next to it. So that's fine. The subway is a 5 min walk and it takes you about 40 min to Times Square, 20 min to Lower Manhattan. The night trains don't stop at Kingston Throop Ave so that's a little minus. So you have to figure out a way to get home which is usually by taxi cap. So in conclusion: Nicole is a very very nice host. She lives in the house so if you need anything or just want to say Hello she's there for a small talk. The apartement is just fine. It does require a lot of subway traveling to get to Upper Manhattan. Bed Stuy is a family friendly part of Brooklyn. People are mostly helpful. However, there're some crazy people out on the streets, but hey, it's Brooklyn right. Thanx Nicole:-)
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time at Nicole's. She is a very warm-hearted and helpful host who always gave us advice where to find whatever we were looking for. The rooms were clean and nice, hand-over of keys was easy and quick. The neihbourhood may seem strange in the beginning but it is quite safe with a church and a deli right across the street and the subway "Kingston Throop Ave" just around the corner. As former guests already said: Be careful which train to take since some trains do not stop at the subway. We were four people, two of us were using the couch which was less comfortable but totally okay.

We were able to commute to Manhattan easily and also liked the neighborhood of Brooklyn. Nicole kept communications channels open at all time and was easy to approach. Totally recommended.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great time at Nicole's place. We really liked the neighbourhood, very laid back, with some nice cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. The subway to Manhattan is literally just around the corner so it was easy to go back and forth. Nicole was very helpful. Unfortunately there were some problems with the internet connection during the last 3 days of our stay but she helped us out and let us use her iPad in the meantime. Everything was clean, there were even fresh towels for us to use. The only downside for me was that the place is a little dark, but we spent most of our time outside anyway. We really enjoyed our stay!

Jun 27, 2019Nicole was great during the set up process and we even asked to drop our bags early so we could enjoy the sites. Her sister was there to greet us and show you around, gave us directions and also train schedule etc. Very nice! The apartment was in a nice neighborhood and it was easy to access transportation to get to the city. It was very clean and it had everything we needed from towels to kitchenware and everything in between. When we were leaving, they met us and helped us with our things and to hail a cab! I would highly recommend staying at Nicole's and will stay there again upon my next visit. Very easy and responsive to all my questions and we had a great time. Thank you!!
Jun 27, 2019We were a family group of three staying 10 days in NYC seeking accommodation out of, but near, Manhattan to avoid its crazy prices and cramped living spaces. Mitchel Manor met our requirements being only a 5 minute walk to the subway stop and taking just 20 minutes to lower Manhattan and about 40 minutes to mid town. We found the accommodation to be accurately described and Nicole responded promptly to any queries and was very friendly to deal with. We would readily recommend this apartment. Some tips for visitors. The nearest subway is Kingston Throop, Turn right on leaving the apartment and then immediately right onto Marcus Garvey Glvd followed by a right on Fulton street. The subway is just past a McDonalds. Even if you are only staying for a few days it is worthwhile to buying an unlimited 7 day subway ticket for about 30 dollars as individual trips cost 3 dollars. Take the uptown C train to Manhattan. Late night trains do not stop at Kingston Throop. In this case take the downtown A or C train to the next stop at Utica. This is only a little further from Mitchel Manor, about 8 minutes walk. Make sure you visit the Brooklyn bridge for its spectacular views of NY, particularly at night. The C and A trains stops close by at High St. (keep a close lookout for the turn off for the bridge as it is very easy to miss) I would also recommend trying two restaurants close to the apartment. Turn right on Decatur St and left on Lewis ave. Peaches is almost immediately on the right and Saraghina is a few minutes on the left. Both have a great atmosphere, reasonable food and are great value. There is a supermarket close by on Marcus Garvey and a larger one on Fulton street just up from the Kingston Throop stop.

Jun 27, 2019Our family of three lived at Mitchell Manor for a week. We were welcomed warmly. Everything we needed was there, we could cook and shopping was easy in the area. We liked the neighbourhood and loved to walk through Brooklyn up to Brooklyn Bridge, but there was also easy access to public transport. The hosts live upstairs and we could have contacted them easily. We recommend this appartement for a great time in New York and a nice retreat away from the Razzle Dazzle of Manhattan.
Jun 27, 2019Nicole met us on arrival and was very welcoming. She made sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment is excellent as a base to explore New York, it is well equipped whether you wish to simply have breakfast at home (which we did) and eat out or cook for yourselves. There is everything lolly that you could want from the 24 hour grocery stores to the subway that is at pst a 10 minute walk that also runs 24 hours....We will certainly be back as there is still a lot more of New York that we want to explore! Nicole was also very helpful with a late checkout.

When we arrived to NYC I called Nicolle and she anwered me that she tried to stay at our arrival in the apartment but if she was not how we had to proceed. She was not there but her daugther was and 5 min later Nicollete arrived to the apartment and gave us some explanations to help us . She gave us some explantaions about the subway, about where we could buy, near restaurants and so on....whenever I sent her a message, she always answered me....Even more, in our departure day, she called a taxi on my behalf to the airport. Thaks a lot Nicollete.

Jun 27, 2019Nicole and Titus were very hospitable and responsive. Very clean. The neighborhood was clean and we had no problems with the neighbors. Mattress is firm. Would not recommend the sofa bed to sleep in. Nice and spacious flat and had a good amount of light for a bottom floor apartment. Wifi and TV worked good. Would have liked less light from the street lamp in the bedroom at night time.

It is in a residential neighbourhood and has a couple of recommended(by Lonely Planet) restaurants two streets away.

Nicole was very responsive & warm. She is extremely helpful & made our stay simple and memorable. Value for money is excellent considering how expensive NYC is. Highly recommend as its about 30 minutes from Manhattan, has accessible delis and stores plus the subway is just a block or two away.

The apartment is really lovely, spacious, comfortable, secure, homely and has everything you need. The area is great, 5 min walk from Kingston Throops station from which you can get the C train in to Manhattan and a 10 min walk from Utica station from which you can get the C and the express A train. Also only a $30-40 Uber ride from JFK. There's a lovely cafe around the corner called the Brunswick Cafe which we had brunch at most mornings before heading in to the city. Definitely recommend Mitchell Manor, a really fab base for an NYC

Jun 27, 2019Nous avons été reçu par le fils de Nicole qui nous a donné toutes les informations pour occuper le logement. Le logement était conforme aux photos, propre et bien équipé. Nous avons apprécié la proximité avec manhattan et la facilité des transports (bus, métro kingston throop ). Dans le quartier il y a de nombreux commerces superette et restaurants, gallérie d'art etc... Nous avons eu aucun problème pour aller et venir. Notre séjour c'est bien déroulé.
Jun 27, 2019We really enjoyed our stay with Nicole. As others have stated, it is a short walk from the subway and the street is lovely. We bought a 7 day metro card for $32 and felt that it was an incredible value for our 5 day stay. The C line goes to most of the areas we planned on visiting, so this was super convenient. Also, you simply can't beat the price for this apartment. It is much bigger than we expected which was a nice surprise.

The host, and her husband were very welcoming and offered information about the neighborhood, and how to get the full NYC experience. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone. Amazing

Jun 27, 2019Nicole and Titus were friendly welcoming hosts. The neighbourhood was clean, friendly and quiet, where we felt comfortable and safe. We loved coffee at Sumner Cafe in Marcus Garvey Blvd around the corner. The apartment was very close to Kingston Throop subway station and busses along Fulton St were frequent. A metro card for the week was a great investment. Unfortunately, the bed was extremely uncomfortable: we improved our comfort only when we put the mattress on the floor! Cleanliness and a comfortable bed are the most important things in an airbnb, so this seriously let down our experience. In all other ways it was a good place to stay.
Jun 27, 2019Nicole was a lovely host and we enjoyed (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication before the arrival was good and even though she couldn't meet us when we got there she made sure we got the key and didn't have to wait. The neighborhood was friendly and it was pretty quiet at night, which we appreciated since we went to sleep fairly early due to time difference. The subway to Manhattan is just a few blocks away and the C train took us to all the places we wanted to visit. All in all, I would recommend a stay at Nicole's.

Jun 27, 2019This residence is very close to everything you need. Laundry restaurants subway and grocery store. Nicole made us feel very welcome. Internet and television stations were very good and apartment had a cozy homely feel that we wanted to spend Christmas in New York.

Nicole n'était pas là à notre arrivée, mais il y avait Amber qui a été très gentille. Nicole est venue nous saluer des que possible et a été très arrangeante pour les valises pour le dernier jour. Jun 27, 2019We had a great stay at Nicole's place, me and 3 other friends. The place is perfect for 4 people and the bed and couch were both comfortable. The place is very close to the subway, approximately 3 short blocks away. At the first, the neighborhood feels a bit strange (compared to other neighborhoods in nyc) but we felt safe in the end. The apartment has cleans towels and sheets, which was perfect for us. The only cons I would mention is that the place is booked every single day, so if you need a more flexible check in/out time, be aware of that. Nicole let us leave our bags before check in time. Additionally, sometimes you can hear the noise from the upper floors in the house, but nothing too loud, just steps. I would definitely recommend Nicole's place, thanks for all support :)
Jun 27, 2019This is not a quite street and as a garden apartment the bed is right at sidewalk level so you hear everything- traffic and pedistrians throughout the night and early morning. Bring earplugs. Good coffee shop around the corner was nice, Sumners Cafe.
Jun 27, 2019Our stay in Brooklyn was great and one reason for this was the good accommodation of Nicole. We felt well cared for. The area we lived in was quite authentic, we felt like in a movie, because our neighborhood looked like everyone knows from a New York movie. We liked it very much. Most of the time we travelled by Subway and that was comfortable, because the next station was approx. 8 minutes far away by feet. There was a problem with the sofa, but Nicole was really understanding and gave her best to fix the situation. To put in a nutshell, I can say Nicole was a really caring and courteous host and we can really recommend visiting her.

Jun 27, 2019We liked the flat, although it is a little bit far from Manhattan midtown (downtown is closer, about 20 minutes, times square is about 45 minutes, central park is an hour.) The street itself where the flat is ok, traditional brownstone houses - the Subway station is very close, unfortunately the area around the station (fulton street) is quite bad. The flat itself is okay, the bed is comfortable (the sofa less), and Nicole is kind, helpful, correct. Thank you very much!

Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Nicole's for a week and the location was perfect since it was close to A and C lines and close to yummy food. We were out most of the days (14 hours) everyday. We used the place to sleep and shower. I informed Nicole about the lack of hand soap in the bathroom and squeaky/noisy bed on Wednesday morning. She got the hand soap on Friday and ordered a new bed on Sunday. The only reason this place didn't get a 5 star is because of the bed which was really hard for both of us to sleep on. But since she ordered a new bed, hopefully someone else will benefit and hopefully us in the future when we visit NYC and stay with Nicole again!
Jun 27, 2019Wonderful place. Very close to the C & A trains. Great deli across the street with friendly dudes behind the counter. The unit is cute and has its own little patio which leads to the door and shared hallway, keep the doors closed! Open the windows if it gets too toasty. Everything was neat and tidy and looks just like the listing! They provided plenty of towels, however there is a laundry mat near by if you need to wash for whatever reason. The bed and sofa bed were fine, nothing to complain about comfort wise! The kitchen did its job, don’t over shop! we ended up leaving our left over groceries and toiletries as a donation to the church across the street. Nicole was very helpful and called our airport car for us at the end of the trip! Overall awesome place and I would definitely try to book here again for my next trip!

Jun 27, 2019Nicole was lovely and a great host from start to finish and was quick to respond to any queries before and during our stay. The apartment was clean and tidy and was soooo warm it was amazing to come home to after being in the snow all the day! There was quite a bit of noise in the bedroom from the road outside but the bed was so comfortable it made up for it! The metro is also only a super quick walk away for easy access to Manhattan so although it’s quite far out it made the travelling to and from really easy. We would def stay again!

She had a wide variety of booklets to help you explore the city and also gives her own advice. She has this cute book for guests to write in, which I thought was the cutest thing ever. Make sure to leave a note before you go!

The kids and hubby were more than happy with the accommodations. It was pretty quiet at night...the location was great! Down the street from a bodega and around the corner from a grocery store. Jun 27, 2019The apartment is great, real near to A and C subway line that takes you right to Manhattan. Comfortable, with all you need to spend some great days in NY. The bed was really comfortable. The neighborhood was great, quiet and at the same time full of stores and delis. We came back to the apartment late at night and was everything ok and safe. We are grateful with Nicole and her husband that let us leave our bags early and check them out late the day we were leaving. That allowed us to spent more time walking around the city. It's a great apartment to stay!

Jun 27, 2019Great apartment in an ideal location. Nicole was a great host, was fast at responding. Apartment was clean and had all the amenities you'd want. Be aware though that this is a ground floor apartment so the level of noise you hear from the street at night is much louder and pedestrians seem much closer to you than if you were higher up. Would recommend staying here!
