Summary
Our unit is a co-op in an older building, full of diverse, responsible, close-knit folks. The apartment itself is a small two-bedroom, suitable for a couple and child. Not a luxury apartment, but everything you need is here. Including toys.
Space
Our apartment is a fourth floor walk-up in a co-op that was rehabbed by it's owners. It has not been made to feel suburban or generic - it's not a 'luxury apartment'. It's plenty of space, a quiet well-lived-in, well furnished place to relax after a day of pounding the pavement or a night on the town. It's well lit, with one very large and one small bedroom (our six-year-old sleeps there), a bathroom (shower, no tub) and an open kitchen and living room, all with wood floors, some painted, some stained. The building has been a pillar of the neighborhood for many years, and most folks in the building are invested in keeping the area safe, affordable and diverse. For three adults you can use our spare mattress instead of the kiddo bed. Linens and towels are yours to use, and you do not need to wash them (though you are welcome to do your laundry in our washer.)

Neighborhood Overview
The East Village is diverse, vibrant and convenient. There are excellent coffee shops and restaurants nearby, Thompkins Square Park has movies and concerts (as well as great playgrounds and a kids' pool), and you can get just about anywhere from our place.
Notes
If you rent from us this August, there is scaffolding on the exterior wall of the building. Work usually starts up around 9 or 9:30 and is over by 4.
Transit
We are a 10-minute walk from the 6, R, L and F trains. There are multiple Citibike stations within two blocks, and several bus lines run up and down Ave C and Ave A. Parking is manageable on the street, and safe.
Access
We will block off a small section of the large bedroom, which functions as our office. Otherwise, it's all yours. Let us know if you'd like dresser space, and we'll store our clothes.

Rules
The most important thing for us is that you take good care of our home - clean up after yourselves, and please respect our downstairs neighbors by not stomping on our floors. We are a shoes-off household, and hope you will be too. The building is quiet at night. Otherwise, we hope you'll feel comfortable, convenient and welcomed. No pets, please. No smoking.
