North Shore lifestyle is lay back, easy but can be full active or rigid due to the many amenities around to enjoy and take pleasure with. Activities are full and never ending. The beach shore stretch from Haleiwa down to Sunset and up to Laie (where Polynesian Cultural Center is located). Btw, PCC tour is recommended for a whole day activity and don't miss the Luau and Night Show as part of your tour. Shrimp farm experience is also fun!

There is a city bus, The Bus, that stops directly in front of the house. The Bus provides transportation every 30-minute interval. We recommend to rent a car to cut bus wait and to maximize your travel and vacation.

Welcome to North Shore! This is to remind our upcoming guests for some issues that you must know in making your vacation and stay with us worry-free and smooth sailing. 1. OLD HAWAIIAN PLANTATION HOUSE - do not expect new or modern fixtures or furnishings in the house. Local Hawaiian lifestyle and living. If you have any concern regarding the set-up, please inform us. 3. TROPICAL PLACE & LOCATION - the weather and climate varies and this is beachfront. The place is green all around due to vast varieties of plants and trees. You will find invasion of insects from time to time from outside (i.e. mosquitoes, bugs, geckos... etc). We suggest to bring insect repellant for protection. The house is screened. 5. KITCHEN & OTHER COMMON AREAS - All areas of the house aside from your private room and own bathroom are shared. Paul was fantastic. Him and his partner greeted us and carried our bags up. The room was stocked with snacks and drinks, you can really tell they care and want you to feel at home. They were the most welcoming hosts I have experienced. Their house is beautiful and the best location on the island, right on pipeline. Their home was clean, and they made themselves available for anything my mom and I needed, including letting us use their surfboard! Their dog was a bonus as I was missing mine back home, and she was very well behaved. This was our first time staying on the north shore and I highly recommend it! It's only 30-45 min from the city, and has so much beauty and culture. I had to leave a few days early due to circumstances at home and Paul was very understanding and flexible with us. Great people. Beautiful home.

This looks exactly as the pictures do and the terrace is even more beautiful in real. Just on the beach in front of the ocean! For the ones who like surfing, litterally in front of pipeline! Paul& Josh are extremely nice and caring hosts. They really do everything for you to feel at your best at their place. I would strongly recommend their place to anyone who whishes to stay around! We'll definitely come back:-)
Jun 27, 2019Great B&B! Location is top, top, top! A 60s surfers home, not luxurious but a beautifull interior. Minimalistic furniture which is great in this home. Paul and Josh are very warm and easy to communicate with. We had a great time at their place!

We left clothing behind and they promptly told us and organised sending them to us. Location was right on the beach and we would definitely stay there again. It was a happy, peaceful stay. Thanks.
Jun 27, 2019We had a great time at Paul and Josh's place. The interior of the house and bedroom are as advertised and the lanai is absolutely beautiful to watch the sunset or the waves come in. The house is an open-air beach house, meaning the windows stay open all of the time allowing some insects to come in, this was not a problem for us and Josh sweeps the house every day. The guys do provide earplugs for the night time noises outside (the roosters and the street traffic). They were fantastic hosts and really went out of their way to help make our vacation a success. Their dog is friendly and such a great companion! Thanks for the fun time in Hawaii guys!

Jun 27, 2019We love the patio and private beach experience. You can sit there all day watching surfers, pipeline waves and the beautiful sky. Room is big and clean. It gets a little bit humid during raining days. You will get your own bathroom. Be aware that this is in the tropical area so there will be some flies in the house. If you love the north shore and the beach, high recommended to stay here.

We spent three nights and the price was just right for the accommodations. The view from the lanai is a must for coffee mornings and evening cocktails. Thanks Paul for the great conversation.

Jun 27, 2019This place is just amazing. The location couldn't be better. You step out and you're at pipeline. The view from the patio is beyond beautiful and the house is super cozy. In addition to that, Paul and Ehu (the dog) were very friendly and nice. Paul took really care of us and made us feel like home. If I'll go back to Oahu, I would definitely want to stay there again.

Jun 27, 2019The Pipeline house is a fantastic stay. Paul and Josh are fantastic hosts. The house has a "real beach house" feel, a true getaway from the more crowded touristic experiences on Oahu. A surfers dream, the most awesome swells rolling in just off the beautiful Lanai( deck). We spent many hours just watching the beautiful sunsets and changes in swell thundering in. Sleeping was a dream, the room comfortable, clean and well provisioned. We chillaxed in a flash. Paul is an easygoing , well informed house mate/host. He's a long term resident and a Hawaiian culture specialist. Josh was away during our stay but is very good on communications. Use of the kitchen , laundry, dining and lounge areas made our family feel right at home, the extra space and facilities gave us the choice of eating in, economising and extending our stay to 10days. Ehukai (the Labrador) is a delight, her love for the beach and constant company whilst swimming and walking gave our kids a "pet experiment" and companionship. I'd some up our stay by saying we just didn't want to leave.... All our dreams were fulfilled!!

Jun 27, 2019Leo and I absolutely loved our stay at Paul’s beachfront house. The location and house are just as described and the backyard is the world-famous Banzai Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu. When we first arrived, we were greeted with the sounds of the majestic North Shore waves. We were also welcomed by a wonderful host dog, a golden retriever named Ehukai, who is the friendliest and sweetest dog ever. Ehukai loves the beach and is an expert sand digger! We miss her already. Paul (our human host) is very hospitable, responsive and easy going. He is also an academic expert on Hawaiian Studies and happy to share his knowledge. He indulged our curiosity about the cultural and political history of Hawaii. We're sad that we didn't have the opportunity to meet Josh, who corresponded with us about the booking, but maybe we will one day! The lanai has a spectacular view of the beach. There's no bad view - on the left you could watch the sun go down, on the right, you can see surfers ride the Pipeline. We had our own room, private bathroom and parking space. Our bedroom was closer to the highway side and overlooks the front yard. If you leave the windows open, you could still hear the waves crashing, which is awesome as a sleeping aid. The house is conveniently located. It's only a 5 minute drive to Foodland (a grocery serving world class Poke) and delicious shrimp trucks, 10 minutes to Shark's Cove and Waimea Bay, and 15 minutes to downtown Haleiwa and Kahuku. Take note that there's only one road so during sunset, there's a lot of traffic, especially near the beaches. Every moment of our trip was breathtaking and relaxing. Jun 27, 2019Paul was an awesome host and was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our chats with him as he has so much local knowledge. The room was very nice and quiet at night for sleeping. All you could hear was the crashing of the waves. Paul changed our double bed to a king-size while we were there and also changed the TV immediately after the older one died. The house was right on the beach and the balcony was perfect! It is 10 yards from the ocean and close enough to Pipeline to watch the surfers. I took many photos (with the zoom on my camera). It was so wonderful to watch to the big waves crashing. It was a 10 minute walk to Pipeline and a two-minute walk to the beautiful beach next door. The Foodland is only about a mile and a half down the road and is an excellent supermarket. We used the kitchen every day which was well-equipped. All in all, this was a little paradise!

His knowledge of the Hawaiian culture & history made for interesting conversations. Ehukai, the beautiful golden retriever accompanied us on many beach walks & slept by our bed at night. Jun 27, 2019My husband and I feel so fortunate to have been able to stay in such a warm and friendly home in such an incredible location. The Hawaiian style cottage is literally at the edge of the Pipeline shore break where you can sit on the deck and watch world class surfers perform. We were mesmerized by the beauty of the aqua blue waves. Our bedroom was very private with closet space, a very comfortable bed and great wifi and tv reception. It was truly a private and relaxing place to be, next to the surf break, with a gracious host like Paul, and with his super friendly Golden Retriever Eukai. We can't wait to go back!
Jun 27, 2019We have spent a beatiful 12 days at Paul´s cozy beach side house and can the stay there only recommend. House is equipped with all needed fittings, you can park in the garden (own car is a must) and enjoy endless beach and have breakfest on the terrace. Its quite different accommodation and location than Waikiki, real Hawaii (no stereotyped uniform hotel at beach). Jun 27, 2019This stay was not what we expected it to be after seeing the airb&b ad. It was sooooo mutch more! Paul, his cat&dog were super caring, lovely, helpful and always respected our privacy. The place is not to put in words. If possible i would have moved in and stayed there for the rest of my life. We absolutely loved it. Jun 27, 2019We loved our stay at Paul's place. It is an incredible location, on the beach which means it's perfect for a relaxing break. Paul was away part of the stay so we met not only him but also Yvonne and Sabrina. Everyone was lovely; friendly, hospitable and helpful. The resident dog is BEAUTIFUL and we loved having her around! There are food trucks and a supermarket close by so everything is easy and enjoyable. The room itself is large, sunny with plenty of closet space and we loved the bed, very comfy! Having your own bathroom is also great, really gives you privacy. All in all we had a fantastic week and recommend Paul's place!

Jun 27, 2019We had a amazing time at pipeline. The beach is only few steps away. We enjoyed taking a walk in the morning and sunset, watching " live show" of surfers on big wave. We love to spend time at lanai, feeling breeze and sound of big wave. Paul is a very good person, gave us good advice of food, restaurants and place to see. His dog is super friendly, make relaxed atmosphere. We must come back there.

The location of his place was perfect, like a dream come true. House and room was spacious with "good spirit in". Bed were very comfortable. What You see on photos is exactly out there. Jun 27, 2019My partner Mark and I had the most wonderful stay at Paul's place on the North Shore. I cannot imagine a better location - it is right on the beach so we spent lovely mornings and afternoons on the deck soaking up the pristine beauty around us. Not only is the location on the beach perfect, ( almost directly in front of the Banzai Pipeline), you are also only a very short drive away from Sharks Cove, (great snorkeling place), Haleiwa (beaut historical little town filled to the brim with great places to eat, drink and shop), and also walking distance to local food trucks, grocery store (Foodland) and more! Paul is such a lovely, welcoming host, we felt like we were staying with family - our time at Paul's was very special. Paul teaches Hawaiian studies and hula at one of the local schools - his knowledge of Hawaiian culture and history made for memorable conversations and a true island experience - we were very lucky to also attend a hula competition where a group from Paul's class performed and this was one of the stand-out experiences of our trip - it was truly beautiful watching the group dance to Paul's chanting - we loved every second!

Jun 27, 2019We could not have asked for a better host than Paul. He was so welcoming and friendly and shared so much of his incredibly interesting knowledge about Hawaii and its culture with us. Paul is the go-to guy if you have any questions about the history of Hawaii and will answer them enthusiastically. The house is a perfect, simple, untouched beach house - picturesque location with easy bus access into Haleiwa or a short walk to Pupukea snorkelling and delicious food trucks! Also a five minute walk from the Ehukai Pillbox Hike. Speaking of Ehukai, what a gorgeous dog, we miss her already! Thank you so much Paul for your very special hospitality! You immediately get the feeling for his love with the Hawaiian culture in his home. It is decorated with various Hawaiian artifacts and other relics which bring you closer to the ocean that you can hear from every room in the house. Paul is a wonderful host. He is extremely knowledgable in the Hawaiian culture and will take the time to give you tips on things to go see and do during your visit. Whether you want to see Hale'iwa, Sunset Beach or Banzai Pipeline, his home is situated right in the heart of the north shore.

Jun 27, 2019We had a great time at Paul's place. We would have loved to have stayed much longer on this side of the island and started wishing we did once we got to Paul's. He is a great host who made us feel so at home and so welcome. I know some people worry about the host interaction. Paul is the kind of person who can talk story with anyone If your the type that wants your own space he will do that as well and won't take any offense to it. This place was perfect for us. We had our own private room and private bathroom and were steps from the beach...everything we wanted. We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. We plan on having future vacations here at Paul's. Fa'afetai tele lava!

Jun 27, 2019This was a great location for my trip to Hawaii for the wedding. Paul was super helpful and inviting and his dog was a hoot. The location was right on the beach, which was super empty so it felt like it was a private one. Plenty of areas to chill outside along with in the living room. I'd definitely come back if I came back.

The Place is awesome...beautiful...clean and Paul is that Host you wanna have When you Are far away from Home. We enjoyed Talking to him...a Really down to Earth Guy. Jun 27, 2019Paul was a very friendly host. as he is working during the week we just were most of the time by ourselfes- that just made us really feel like home. the house is nice and cosy and just steps away from the amazing beach. the view from the house is just breathtaking. we were having breakfast on the terrace every morning sitting so close by the beach. paul helped us with all our questions and was really helpfull during our stay. the location ist great, other beautiful beaches are easy to reach by car. the bed is really comfortable and the house has everything you need. we would stay with paul again! thank you again for the great stay!
Jun 27, 2019Staying at Paul's and Josh's place was a real Hawaiian experience. The house is right at the beach, which is low frequented, at least during September. We saw a turtle in the water and the beach was really great. Paul can tell you lots of interesting things about Hawaii's history and he is great company. Also the place is a great starting point to discover the island. Best Sunset Salad at the fish trucks close by plus one of the most amazing sunsets we have ever seen! Thanks Paul, we have had a great time!

Jun 27, 2019This was my first trip to the North Shore (and my first Air bnb experience) and my stay with Paul added so much! The location is INCREDIBLE - a private little slice of paradise. I loved Ehukai - she is such a kind, loving and funny girl! I especially enjoyed evening talks with Paul about the Hawaiian history and culture - thanks for the loan of the great books. Thanks for everything Paul, I'll be back!!!
Jun 27, 2019Paul met us down at the beach when he got home from work and chatted with us briefly, introduced us to his dog Ehu. We felt he was a great host. He would chat with us and answer any questions we had but also gave us lots of privacy even though we were guests in his home. You cannot beat the location of Paul's beachhouse. It really is directly on the beach and short distance to many of the North Shore's top spots for snorkelling and hiking. There are tons of food trucks and restaurants close by as well as a Foodland. Our only issue that we came across (which wasn't a reflection of Paul) would be that because it is an older home, the windows do not block much sound and the bedroom faces the road. So it was a little loud at night with trucks and cars passing as well as tons of chickens in the area that kept us awake. Otherwise our stay was excellent and comfortable. You cannot beat this location and the views are incredible!

Jun 27, 2019We had a fabulous stay here at Pauls place. Beachfront with wonderful views of the sunset and pipeline. Really what more can you ask for? My husband surfed, I watched the waves, we walked along the beach. Fabulous food trucks are nearby. Big king size bed was very comfortable. Paul was a gracious host giving ample privacy whilst also being there as required. It's a good base for exploring nearby Turtle Bay or Haleiwa or further afield. Cottage next door looks fantastic especially if you have kids. We will be back. Thanks Paul and Josh for a wonderful vacation.
Jun 27, 2019This location was everything we expected and more. Paul is a very friendly host, who is happy to share his broad knowledge about Hawaii while still granting a lot of privacy. We enjoyed our talks with him and felt very welcome. The house provides everything you need for a magnificant stay, literally just steps from the water. The view is amazing and we enjoyed it with Ehukai, who is a super friendly and relaxed dog. We highly recommend this location and will definetly be back. Mahalo to Paul and Josh.

The view from the deck on to the ocean and the winter swell is hard to put in words. Paul was a great host, very friendly and helpful in every kind of matter. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks Paul!
Jun 27, 2019Long before I arrived on the North Shore I was in contact with Paul and Josh. They both were very clear on what I could expect and how I could enter the house all by myself. They made me feel at home from the beginning, if I needed something I just had to ask and they respected my privacy as well. Great people to stay with, would do it again for sure!
Jun 27, 2019Everyone has different priorities when selecting a place to stay. For us it was location as well as getting a feel for the local vibe. If this is what you are after, then Paul's place hits the mark! Don't come here looking for a five star hotel as this is not what you will find, thank goodness. If you are into the richness of the culture of Hawaii, you can't do any better than staying with Paul and Josh in this original plantation home that is right on the beach at the Banzai Pipeline. We were fortunate to be staying on a weekend which allowed us a bit more time to chat with Paul. He is a master in all things Hawaiian and is incredibly interesting. The house, although quite old, is spotlessly clean. Josh is like the energizer bunny and keeps it clean to a fault. We had a private bedroom with a comfortable king size bed and a private bathroom. There is a large deck where you could spend an entire day being mesmerized by the ocean. The remainder of the house and deck are shared with Paul, Josh, and Ehukai, their adorable golden retriever. All are most respectful of privacy. Even the dog knows where she must not cross the line! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals if you wish. Of course, you should clean up after yourself as there is no maid service. We can't wait for our next visit and would likely plan a longer stay. Thank you Paul and Josh for your hospitality!

Jun 27, 2019Our stay with Paul at his pipeline house was magical. Waking up every morning to thundering surf was an absolute dream come true. The room was wonderful and was very large with a huge king sized bed. If anyone wants to enjoy the north shore this is the place to stay.

Jun 27, 2019We had such a great stay at Paul's clean, spacious and comfortable home which is full of character and history. In original condition, Paul's descriptions of his well-loved old Hawaiian plantation house are accurate, and detailed information is clearly set-out and included in the 'House Rules'. Clear driving directions and easy communication from our hosts who also provided great recommendations and suggestions. Super comfortable bed. We LOVED staying here, the setting of Banzai Pipeline is stunning, and we loved sitting on the lanai watching the waves and the surfers. Walks along the beach were glorious. We had a rental car and driving to so many highlights of North Shore life was easy. Mahalo Paul, Josh and Ehukai. A hui hou.
Jun 27, 2019The location is incredible. Right on the beach. Right down the beach from the Banzai pipeline (we saw surfers all day every day) and right down the road from Waimea Bay and Falls and Sharks Cove (great spot for snorkeling in the summer). Not far from Haleiwa which is a quaint little town with a nice shopping area. Paul and Josh were very welcoming and friendly. The only drawback is the wild chickens. They're all over the North shore and the roosters started crowing at about 4:30/5 am every morning. We got used to it, but don't plan on sleeping in! The patio overlooking the ocean is amazing.

Jun 27, 2019First things first - if you plan a trip to Hawaii make sure to stay at least 3 days at Paul & Josh's house. We were 5 days at the Airbnb and this was the most beautiful place that we have ever encountered when being on holidays. The house is directly at the beach - we took our breakfast coffee for a walk at the North Shore. Everything was amazingly clean and the house has an awesome decoration & atmosphere. Paul, Josh and Ehukai are completely friendly and heartwarming hosts - they made our stay even more unforgettable. If we ever have the chance to visit Hawaii again we will make sure to visit Paul, Josh and Ehukai again!
Jun 27, 2019Paul and Josh were absolutely wonderful. The place is beautiful, and we could not have asked for a better stay during our trip (or a place for our engagement! Their front porch is stunning!) We did a Costco run and cooked about half of our meals in their kitchen, and this was easy and not a problem at all. It saved us a lot on eating out! Paul and Josh gave us plenty of tips about where to eat and what to see. They also lent us snorkel gear, and Josh even made me some tea when I was sick! Truly lovely people. Bonus: Their dog is very calm and nice to pet. I definitely recommend staying here!

Paul und Josh sind sehr nette und unaufdringliche Gastgeber. Insgesamt hatten wir einen perfekten Aufenthalt und können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Waking up in the morning and walking out onto the lanai right on the beach with the ocean just metres away was incredible. The room was great and the bed was super comfy. We loved our time there!

Jun 27, 2019Paul and Josh are fantastic hosts. The room and bathroom are clean with great water pressure, a really comfy bed, beautiful views, and amazing right-off-the-porch beach access. I would agree with other reviews that the road noise can be disturbing if you're a light sleeper - but we aren't so it was no bother to us at all. This is a fantastic oasis and departure from the hubbub of Waikiki - if you want to experience a local Hawaii don't hesitate to book with Paul.
Jun 27, 2019Both the place as well as the hosts were really special. Starting with the place, neither myself nor my wife have ever felt so close to the sea as we felt sitting on the lanai (back porch) of the house... and imagine we both grew up in Greece :-) !!! It was a fantastic experience. This was the image of Hawaii you have as a kid. Now, regarding the hosts, Paul and Josh manage to run a very professional business while being very friendly and chilled at the same time. Their knowledge of Hawaii is really impressive. The maintainance of the place is at the level of a many-stars hotel, including ammenities that you would never expect in an airbnb. Overall we felt very comfortable the entire time (like being at home) and we will definitely try to go back.

Der er gode områder i nærheden hvis man vil snorkle og gå på opdagelse og der er ikke overrendt af tourisme. Paul og Josh er fantastiske værte. De er nogle af de mest venlige og behagelige mennesker der findes. Som får en til at føle sig hjemme og giver en plads til at være private i deres hjem. Mangler i informationer om hvilke ting der er værd at se, historie om øen eller hvor der er godt at spise - endelig spørg , de kan med sikkerhed svare . Skal man besøge Oahu , skal det være her fra . Det er det hele værd og mere til.

Jun 27, 2019Paul and Josh's home is in a stunning location...right on the beach, and walking distance to Sunset Beach through to Waimea Bay, and close to great food outlets. It was an old home, but very clean with lovely touches in the room. They are rebuilding soon, and I would love to return to stay after this has been completed. Their 2 dogs are adorable and were fun to have them about.
