We are in a quiet part of Hong Kong with hiking trails and the sea nearby. Part of a duplex with roof, the room is bright and airy with air-con. You also have your own private bathroom with toilet and shower (not en suite) and access to a washing machine, kitchen, lounge and cable-TV. On the roof is a nice sitting indoor and outdoor area. Living in the same house are two dogs (Max Mae) and two cats (Smudge and Munchkin). The main town of Saikung is 15 minutes by bus and is packed with seafood / other restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and much more. There are also ferries to islands and beaches to explore.

Neighborhood Overview
It's quiet, peaceful and with plenty of lush greenery. Lots of hiking trails and very convenient for public transport. This is ideal for people looking to experience another side of Hong Kong away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet still close enough to visit the island and shopping areas.
Notes
Monthly rent is $8600, for one person only. Please respect the privacy of other rooms and people on the premises. The cats and dogs are friendly but can sometimes be shy. We look forward to welcoming guests from the Airbnb world!
Transit
There are plenty of buses nearby and the nearest MTR station to us is at Hang Hau that provides access to all of Hong Kong. Easy to get taxis (green for countryside, red for everywhere). Airport to Central by train takes 25 minutes. Central MTR to North Point MTR takes 15 minutes. North Point to Hang Hau takes 15 minutes.

As a first time user of AirBnB I must say it was a pleasant experience. The place was very nice and the bed was quite comfortable. Very ideal location if you wish to set off and do some hiking. The hosts were fantastic; super friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend! Only downside is the place is a bit tucked away from the main road and a bit hard to find on your own. However the hosts were more than willing to meet and guide you back.
Jun 27, 2019累了一天终于到了香港,房东姐姐出来接待我们很温暖!房子特别温馨,还有可爱的宠物｡我们的房间在二楼很温馨,感觉一进到里面跟到家一样~~早晨也很意外的有阿姨给我们做早点,一切都很美好! 房子所处的区域也很漂亮,空气很清新,周围有很多很酷的地方!超市很多进口零食,走之前买了一大堆哈哈哈! 希望以后还能去看房东姐姐,也欢迎房东姐姐跟男友一起来北京玩!

Jul 27, 2019Really good! Beautiful and quite place, Jiawen is a very lovely lady and so helpful!!! Definitely going back. Location is ok if you are going to the bay, it takes 10 minutes by taxi to Sai Kung Pier to take the boat.
Jun 27, 2019很好高兴可以做客家文家,这是一次很完美的住宿体验! 首先从西贡中心打的士大概15分钟就可以到濠涌小巴站,再走1分钟就可以到了,很容易找而且交通便利!关于住宿环境方面,这是个很温馨很整洁很精致的家!大家可以看看主人发的图片就知道了!最对真实!另外他们家还有四个很重要的成员,两只狗和两只猫,它们四个可是有很多粉丝的,包括我!还有早晨主人给我们准备的早餐,杠杠滴!谢谢主人的热情招待,我和我的伙伴还会再拜访你的!
Jun 27, 2019房子就在山脚下,很安静｡Jiawen很nice,到村口接我们并给我们做了早餐,还告知我们去市区的小巴线路｡不过因为在山下,所以有蚊子,最好关窗开冷气睡,而且Jiawen很贴心地在房间放有电蚊拍｡

Jun 27, 2019Jiawen and Ivan were the most fantastic hosts. We were provided with a fantastic private bedroom and bathroom and even got to hang out with their beautiful cats and dogs. Will definitely return as we quickly found out Sai Kung has an abundance of activities, far too many to do on just one weekend. Recommended!

Jun 27, 2019It's a house by a small river near Sai Kung. It's easy to find following the hostess' instruction. We are more than happy to find the house is very tidy. The hostess Jiawen is a charming lady. Although she has her own job, she'd like to talk with us. In this house, we can get hot water and breakfast. Everything is easy just like another our home. Unfortunately we encountered the coldest weather in HK in a year. Jiawen especially bought us a new heater to keep our room cosy. They have two dogs and two cats. They are all cute, shy and a little curious. Anyway they are quite friendly. The dogs never bark that the whole house is always quiet. Just like the description the hostess give, this house is in a good place to live for a while and it is easy to reach Sai Kung nearby, or other sites in HK and the New Territory, by mini bus and /or subway.

They are very lovely guys, especially Smudge. Jiawen introduced Kiu Tsui Island to us. It's a beautiful place for hiking. We had a nice trip there for several hours.
Jun 27, 2019Jiawen's place is just wonderful!! We really enjoyed talking to her, playing with her pets, and it is super convenient with public transportation. Such a shame we didn't stay in Sai Kung longer. Definately recommend her place to everyone.
Jul 27, 2019家文姐的家非常干净整洁,而且布置的温馨舒适,她人也超级好,非常热情,家里的狗狗有点害羞,肥嘟嘟的猫咪很可爱,走路10分钟就有超市和便利店,到西贡也就10几分钟,非常方便,下次还会再来｡
Jun 27, 2019The house is really nice and beautiful and the location was super convenient and was perfect for us to access everywhere we wanted to go. The nearest bus stop for going to downtown of SaiKung is just few minutes away and there're plenty buses available for accessing the center of HK by just few more minutes walk from the house. We enjoyed very much all the members of the houses, Jiwen, Ivan , their boy Ben and the lovely cats and dogs. The experience was just like we're staying with friends pleasant and comfortable. Thank them so much to be so warm and helpful. Would love to return here again if there's opportunity visiting HK.

Clean home, comfortable room, cute pets, lovely indoor/outdoor terrace (shown in photos). Communication via (Hidden by Airbnb) was very convenient. She provided her address in Chinese, but the taxi driver dropped us off somewhere else. Jiawen's husband met us at a nearby bus stop. It was great to have a clean shower after a long day, wake up in a safe place, and catch a taxi ten minutes away from Sai Kung pier.

Jun 27, 2019感谢家文提供了很好住房｡预定之后家文的反馈十分迅速,也很贴心地提供了到达住宿低地的路线给我们｡房子相对远离西贡市区,但是因为有直达的专线小巴,因此非常方便｡周边的环境也很安静,有干净的河涌,感觉好像到了日本的小区一样｡房间很干净,很满意｡但是要注意的是当时我入住房间的隔壁的洗手间是有出租给另一个房客的的,所以最好使用前跟家文确认好哪一个洗手间是可用的｡另外室内会有一点的隔音问题,但到不影响整体的使用感受｡家文为我们的麦理浩经徒步之行提供了很贴心的建议,实在非常感谢｡如还有机会我还会继续入住的^^

Jun 27, 2019嘉文姐是个很好很温柔的房东,她给的一些线路建议也很好,很实用｡第一次到港真的是没有太完美的计划,因为不知道实地的交通是否方便｡住的地方很好找,来之前,嘉文姐已经把详细的路线说明发给我,有两种可做参考｡即使找不到,工人Leah也会出去接你的｡虽然距离市中心不是太近,但是香港的交通很方便,小巴大巴地铁很方便很方便,想到市中心完全不用担心会堵车!空气特别好,潮潮的,整天都不用涂面霜,住在这里真的非常棒!房间在二楼,不大但是很干净,有熏香的原因,整个房间都是香香的｡感觉嘉文姐很喜欢动物,两只狗两只猫,都很可爱｡如果有机会可以再去香港,首选住在嘉文姐这边!

Jun 27, 2019Fantastic place in a beautiful location. Lovely hosts with friendly pets (which were the highlight of my daughters stay amongst plenty of other treats!) If you want to dip into the hustle and bustle of HK and then go enjoy the breathtaking beaches and hills - this place is perfectly situated as both are only about 20-30 min away.

Jun 27, 2019My husband and I stayed here for four nights while visiting our son at HKUST. Jiawen and Ivan were friendly hosts, with great travel tips and stories to share. Their live-in helper made us breakfast each day, which we enjoyed on the lovely rooftop terrace. Their home was clean and comfortable and our bedroom was quiet and had everything we needed. We didn’t have a problem sharing a bathroom with the student who rented another bedroom. We are dog owners who enjoy animals, but the two large dogs Max and Mae were unpredictable. Sometimes we were their friends, and sometimes they barked and growled at us. The surrounding area was beautiful, with green mountains and a little river that runs through the village. Marina Cove was a 10 minute walk, and it had a grocery store, a 7-11 and a coffee shop. From there, a 10 minute bus ride got us to Sai Kung, which has a large variety of restaurants. This is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Sai Kung peninsula. We took a cab to Sai Kung pavilion, up in the mountains, and we went on an amazing 10k hike to beaches and a river with a swimming hole. It is also perfect for people visiting HKUST, which is easily accessible by minibus. We recommend Jiawen and Ivan’s place, especially if you are willing to adapt to dogs and want an escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Jul 27, 2019在那里,相机镜头里看到的是别样风景:青山､菜园､小径､溪流､遛狗､游鱼､飞蝶……让人怀疑:这是香港吗?女主人周到的服务还是挺暖心的｡他们家的狗狗不是什么名种,在别人家是弃物,而在他们家成了宠物｡能把动物视为宝的人,肯定也能把你视为宝!

We enjoyed all the interesting conversations in the living room, and had such a great time with the cute family dogs and cats! The house was beautiful, very conveniently located by bus stops and had mountain views, which is a lovely sight on the rooftop, especially in the mornings! Would highly recommend, and hoping to visit again some time!

Jun 27, 2019We stayed at Ivan and Jiewen accommodation while we were visiting Sai Kung. The village is nicely hidden from the main road, surrounded by hills and river. You need to get the bus or taxi there from the MTR Hang Hau station. The rooms we had were compact and we suggest you travel light. They have two dogs that were very nice, quiet and friendly. The cats were also there and do roam around, a bit shy but lovely just the same. We found Ivan very very helpful and knowledgable. Jiewen is also a understading helpful person and was able to go beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We had the assistance from the house helper Evelyn who was always there to help with breakfast and questions if any. We enjoyed the location and the hospitality.
Jun 27, 2019房东非常贴心,说不尽的好｡ 1､指路明确,有照片+文字说明,还有联络人电话和照片 2､房间装修超级有格调,楼顶有个小花园,如果晴天去晒晒太阳就很棒 3､房东是很有爱心的,收养了2只猫咪和两条狗,宠物都很可爱｡ 4､居然还有爱心早餐,简单的三明治+茶+水果,但是能量满满 5､很安静的地方,十分适合去西贡徒步的人住,交通也挺方便的
Jun 27, 2019Very welcoming and attentive hosts. I had a great short stay but it was much more enjoyable than I was expecting, for an overnight stay. Great people, great house, great service and excellent value for money.
Jun 27, 2019Jiawen的人很好,家里的菲律宾小姐姐也很热情｡看了很多房源,她们家性价比最高｡特别是有早餐特别方便,菲律宾小姐姐做的,也很好吃噢!去西贡看山看海,能不奔波真好｡家里卫生很干净,猫猫狗狗也很乖,其中有只肥猫超可爱!!!
Jun 27, 2019选择2晚住家文的家,体验很好!来之前,家文用图文很详细的告知了交通,菲佣姐姐来村口接我们｡家里布置得很温馨,三楼的天台上适合看星星月亮｡最让我感动的是,家文赶早亲自做了香喷喷的早饭给我们,非常感谢!

Jun 27, 2019Staying with Jiawen was really a great experience. She is helpful and offered useful information to us for traveling and shopping in hk. The place is clean and cozy. The cats and dogs are so cute and you can play with them^^. I love the delicious breakfast prepared by Jianwen.
Jun 27, 2019在此住了好几天,认为在香港还算性价比不错的民宿,如果对猫狗不介意的话｡尤其是房东和佣人都非常热情,乐于助人,有问必答｡家文也非常健谈,我们有过一次愉快的交流｡早餐丰盛,并且每天变着花样｡这里周边非常安静,环境整洁｡虽然位置稍偏,可是乘交通车外出很方便,离车站不仅近,车次还频繁,能去的方向也多｡我们是第一次到西贡住,主要是徒步和了解一下西贡的人文,包括吃海鲜,结果令人满意｡只是Wi-Fi在二楼卧房不够稳定,但在客厅一点没有问题｡是一次愉快的入住体验,非常感谢Jiawen 和 Lyn｡
